The story just gets worse and worse. By the time volume 3 rolled around, I was tired and mentally done with this novel.

I decided to try and stick around for the first 3 chapters of the third volume, but the direction it was going in left me cold. So I dropped it.

I have nothing much to say about this mediocre underdeveloped story.

I don't want to rate it poorly, but I cannot muster up any good words about it.

Do not recommend.

First, if you want r-18 this is the best pick up for you. They have a lot of it in V2-V4.

Do take note that the review for V4 will almost make you drop this because of the tr*sh ML who is the great manipulator.

All thanks to ML for taking advantage of MC's amnesia in V4. Still wanting to trap him to his damn desire, what a horn* dog. I mean MC already claimed that they're his family and friends yet ML is... Urgh!

MC died twice for ML (YZJ). And this Villain YZJ is so pitiful yet sooo obsessed with MC to the point that he wants to get control over MC's freedom and choices. YZJ promised not to hurt MC (LX) but he himself still cause MC's pain because of his decision that put MC on tight situation.

Not only that, YZJ never listen to MC's sincerely. And why in the world will you place the person you love who got hurt by those demon cultivators near them? As if you have forgotten!? ML you tr*sh!

CY demon cultivator bite his lover to near death. (note: he didn't receive punishment for this sin)

MZ killed MC for his desire to make ML follow his dream to make a perfect demon king. Later on, it was revealed that MC was planted with a puppet soul control something to fool ML. (He got punished but not enough for me.)

Yup, all the things above make the plot a tr*sh thanks to ML in V4. I can't blame MC. I really appreciate if it really ends in V3 then V4 is just a side story as 'what-if'.

Anyway, finish it until V3 then up to you if you still want to continue to V4

I will start with telling that I have quite a high expectation from this one especially since it has quite a good rating, however I am tremendously sad to say that it didn't live up to that.

like in volume 2, MC tried to reason with himself and the ML that it was not good for them to be together. And even in the end of Volume 2, I still felt that the MC was actually sad to leave ML and haven't really thought of liking the other.

But then suddenly in volume 3, in 3-4 chapters, the MC thought they were dating?

okay fine, he was frozen, but when he could talk, they ended up doing snu snu instead of, Idk, talked important matter? And how, HOW DID IT GO FROM A FIRM MC TO BE SO WEAK THAT KISSES MELT HIM THAT HE CANNOT THINK????

Volume 3 is horrible. Not to mention with that arranged marriage? Really??

You know what pissed me off the most? In vol 2, the left hand man Chu Ning sth BIT MC, but did the ML do something? NO. It was not mentioned at all. I got it sometimes you have to suck up to your enemies, but ML, this was the guy who BIT your beloved until he was bleeding so much????

Then what was with the setting of the tower? Then the holy maiden? Shit, it felt like I was thrown so many facts but no conclusion at all

Then the final volume, is it getting better? NO, IT GETS SO MUCH WORSE (for me at least).

I tried, I tried to read everything because I wanted to at least read the potential from Vol 1 and 2, but this was truly a disappointment thru and thru. Everything was ended so quickly.

Tbh, I think if the author started from the Vol 4 premise then went flasback (I hated flasback but I think for this case it would be good? Idk) maybe it would have bit more potential.

In any case, the extra chapters were quite good enough but not enough. I wanted to give it 2-stars, but thinking of volume 1 and 2 then how the translation is good, I gave it 3.

But story wise, it's a 2 for me. THE POTENTIAL WAS SO WASTED, I NEED TO CRY <<less

At first, I was hesitant to read this because of some bad reviews I read but I still believe in my instinct that this novel will be good. And whalla!--It truly didn't disappoint me as I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel.

This feels, so much, like a self-insert Naruto fanfiction.

Disappointing, started off as very compelling. The chemistry between the MC and ML was sweet and loving. There were hints at inter-sect politics, side-character growth and an overarching plot (You know, what's expected of a cultivation novel) that could have been really cool but all of it was dropped because the author started writing Book 3 with only one hand and just kept at it. After a while I just started skipping over the spicy parts. Romance subplot is hardly even a... more>> romantic subplot, since everything complimentary about MC and ML's relationship just sort of rots out of the bottom as the "plot" progresses into the fourth book. It's hard to believe that the ML even really knows MC or cares about him as a person by the end for many reasons.

At the very least, this story treats its female characters in a decent way, by which I mean they're not rabid, irrational jerks with zero dimension.

I barely finished it and didn't bother with the extras. <<less

This started off pretty good. In fact, I liked the first 3 volumes fine. But IDK, after everything, ML is still so manipulative and predatory. Pretending to be 14 to seduce your man and manipulating everything around to go his way, WTF? I guess I just got tired/bored of reading this by then X (

The first 2 volumes are the only ones really worth reading. After that the ML seems to be consumed by lust and it lost my interest. I'm dropping this because I can't be bothered to force myself to keep reading. I think leaving it when the leads finally get together is best.

First volume and most of volume two were really great, really fun. The MC at least seemed promising, had traits that suggested individuality, had GOALS AND AMBITIONS even with his weak powers. Watching him initially learn under the masked master was great, the anticipation with his developing relationship with the villain was really cute to watch as well.

Now, let's talk about how weird and r*tarded the MC becomes, and lets begin with the first incident of P*EDO BEHAVIOUR in the second volume.

JERKING OFF A 14 Y/O BOY IN HIS... more>> SLEEP WAS NOT YOUR ONLY OPTION. IT SIMPLY WASN'T. I WOULD HAVE RATHER YOU EVEN DID NOTHING, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER, JESUS CHRIST. It was at this point I branded him as a freak in my mind, but I let it go after the author showed him to feel genuine guilt and concern for his illegal action- I was like, at least the author isn't going to justify this with the narrative otherwise I would have dropped it right there.

Keep in mind that the ML is still mentally (canonically) 24 at this point too, it doesn't stop there. The 14 y/o keeps mol*sting him, and the author keeps finding convoluted ways to keep encouraging it, no matter how ooc it is for the MC. At this point, I understand why the villain grew up to be the straight up disturbed r*pist he is... It's because of his VERY STRANGE s*xual DEVELOPMENT AS A CHILD.

It's so upsetting too, because the MC used to be a tutor, knows about child psychology and everything, and he SAID he was going to USE that knowledge to steer the villain onto the right path, WEIRDO.

This isn't the only case of the ML just randomly forgetting sh*t throughout. He stops focusing on his self development + improvement completely in order to surrender his as*hole to the villain as soon as the age gap becomes less inappropriate (I don't forgive you for what you did before, author), and allows the plot to completely happen without him. Let's not even talk about the start of volume four, I'm ashamed that I even read this far.

I enjoyed the novel very much especially with everything going on between the MC and ML I think they were very cute and the ML got his own special way of loving the MC.

ML is obviousltly a yandere so if you're uncomfortable with "love-sick person being obsessed to the point of using underhanded ways to pursue and keep the one they love" then give up reading it now.

I personally was invested in the story and was rooting for the MC (being the only relatable/sane character), but towards the end of... more>> the main chapters it felt like the story abruptly ended... With how the story was going in the last arc I think the author wanted to write a bit more than that. But I liked all the conflicts that came before it so I can say overall this was a good read.

I dont see any reason why people would say this story was bad despite this has been properly tagged and I remember the translator also put the trigger warnings before the chapters.

The ML was clearly supposed to be the og villain before MC's transmigration, why was it so surprising that he did 'morally wrong' things up until the end??

So yeah, read at your own risk... but please know, a story that doesnt please you personally isnt necessary a bad story <<less

Tbh it's a very enjoyable LN, especially if you like Yandre ML's, but there are just.. Way too many time skips. First 3 years, then 4 years, and it just.. Really sucks because the ML just grows in strength but you don't see any of that happening. There is no growing between the pair. The entire story is just

Travel together for one month -> Don't see eachother for a month -> Timeskip 3 years -> MC meets ML and does a story related thing -> timeskip 4 years -> ???

I... more>> dropped it at ??? And tbh I just wasn't interested. By Vol 3 it's a struggle to keep reading, there are a lot of side characters and It was just hard to care what was going on anymore. <<less

Okay so uh.. I usually don't leave reviews but I have to agree with most others. This novel started having a downfall in volume 3. It really was interesting and especially with how the MC would go back to his own world. But anyways, after I got to volume 4, I couldn't keep reading. It got so unbearable to read that I dropped it. It was mainly dub-con, and I am not that big of a fan of overly obsessed MLs, particularly this one because of how s*x obsessed he... more>> is. OK so as everyone said, the first 2 volumes were chef's kiss, amazing, beautiful, and great! but then it became an ok read lol.

I'm not sure what happened to the author, were they tired? idk honestly, but if only they've put more effort and by more effort I mean to take time to develop the novel better and give the side characters more scenes because that's what made vol 1 and 2 good! the story pacing was great, the MC was developing a skill and he was very good at... more>> it, like if only they focused more on that part and made him stronger and not weaker! and the side characters we wanted to see more of them!

The author just seemed like they were done with the novel and started f*cking it up to finish it asap.

other than that the first 2 volumes were like one of the best bl novels I've read I would really recommend them if not for the rest being....

I think that the story plot is really good from arc 1 up to end. Many comments are saying that the plot in arc 3 became out or not good but I think they are just conservative people because the s*xual scenes happen in that arc. The story is really good and I hope many more people finish this story because its really worth it

So, this is entertaining, fairly light, and a pretty quick read, which is the only reason I finished it, tbh. I almost wish I stopped, but the author has a way of hooking the reader at the end of every chapter, making it difficult to put down.

My main problem was how young they were when they started having explicit contact, it’s just not my thing. And maybe I could have forgotten about it, but the subject just kept coming up. Tbh, this is probably not for everyone, even though it’s... more>> lighthearted. Though, there were some truly moving moments, and a lot of humor, I don’t think it even really deserves the three, but I decided to round up. Wish I’d known some stuff in advance. <<less

Absolutely loved this novel! I love the ML and the MC, though they both had their issues. My only complaint was that after volume 2, I felt like the story veered from it's original path and became more about the romance than anything else, which honestly made the whole story not entice me as much. Still, I finished it nonetheless.

I truly loved the first two volumes. They had such a lovely mix of budding romance and not-romance (like world events or the introduction of other characters), and that's what really hooked me from beginning to end. When the third volume started, I felt that the author lost the world elements they had set up throughout the first two volumes, and gave up on it. I would have loved to see more of the MC cultivating or refining equipment, but that never happened so it's a little disappointing. Despite that, the romance was full force and took up really the rest of the story.

Volume four was the worst (of the four volumes) in my opinion. The ML acted OOC in trying to get the MC to fall back in love with him. Throughout the story he'd always been cool, calm, and collected, but he acted like none of that was true as he tried to woo the MC into falling in love with him. I get that he's a yandere character, but he's also quick-witted and intelligent (from what I saw). Him sexually harassing the MC and raping him seemed very out of character. Not to mention, his act as "Ling Jue" wasn't great, and wasn't very genuine.

The whole "amnesia" arc was also unnecessary, because I feel like it didn't have any impact at all. It would have been better if the author cut that out and scrapped the fourth volume entirely, either leaving it at the MC dying or having an extra explain how they came together again. But that's just my opinion.

Regardless, I loved the story and the character. It deserves 4/5 stars because it's not perfect, but I can see how much effort the author put in. Thank you for such a great story!

Overall, I’d give this a 4/5.

Like what other people have said, I was really drawn in with the first 2 volumes. The plot and character development were steady and well paced! However, once volume 3 rolled around, it became more smut focused and lots of loopholes showed up in the plot. Not to mention some characters were never mentioned again when they were given an important role in the previous 2 volumes. The comes volume 4... I’m personally disappointed in it. The whole plot just got thrown out the window... more>> and ML went full blast r*pey... The ending felt very rushed and the whole volume just felt like a huge disconnection from the first 3 volumes... What happened to certain characters never got mentioned again and it was mainly just ML and MC being smutty ;). While I did enjoy the angsty scenes and some of the more dramatic moments of the novel, it fell a bit short for me near the end. <<less

I didn't intend to review the story, I just want to slightly rant and write my feelings towards this story.

I understand why some people love volume1&2 and hate the rest, because yes this story has potential. Unfortunately our ML's yandere side won and he's strong and our MC is too weak in the volume3 so it turned out to be our current vol 3&4.

But imo the transition from vol2 to vol3 and the events that follow are okay and reasonable. THATS WHY people mad about this lol bcs author can... more>> and has the ability to do justice to vol 1&2 potential plot, worldbuilding, side characters but vol3 take a smut - yandere ML - weak MC route and side characters gradually disappear.

I personally love them all, because how the events happen are reasonable (imo) and not weird or out of nowhere, at least. I love smut (it's for you, vol3&4). But ngl yeah I kinda regret the potential that it has doesn't develop further, as a plot-centered reader (it's for you, vol1&2).

The extras are fine, just to fill the thirst of other world ver.

But honestly in extras I feel that I don't understand ML's character anymore lol. In main story ML is an overbearing gong that enjoy the power he had and suddenly in extras he's fine with a simple life and not pursuing power.

Nah maybe I got hit too hard by the difference of their way of living between 2 worlds, or it's me that don't fully understand ML characters lol.

It is an ok story. While it was interesting initially, the momentum decreases going forward (is that the reason why most translators only translate one volume???). The story is also kind of cliche, you know what's up and what's going to happen, which is probably also another reason why the momentum just drops. I find myself struggling to sustain my attention to the novel from the middle towards the end.

BUT, it's not a bad read, t'is just ok, so if you don't have anything else to do, ran out of... more>> novels to read, you can give it a try. <<less

, but even with that it is enjoyable. Certain aspects got left on the wayside later, I think the author was focusing more on the relationship between the two mains instead of a plot. Is it my favorite of the BL/cultivation genre's? No, but at the same time I did finish reading this within a day, so it tells you it was still enjoyable.

The story started out great, the first two volumes were very well written and all characters were lovable. In volume 3 however the whole plot was abandoned (this volume just quenches the thirst of fujioshis) and finally in volume 4 I lacked of motivation to continue reading it. After reading the story there are just so many things left out after volume 2 and the story mainly focuses on the obsessive behavior of the ML to the MC.
