It's alright. I like the premise, but this story is lacking a bit.

At the beginning we get a good amount of exposure and background story with somewhat interesting known as palaces. Where each area is special to each sacred beast.

But then we get to at one point where the palaces didn't get introduced. Or well only three were somewhat introductory and the other two were somewhat just one setting (being the two of the palaces either you can speculate only cause it never there.) Perhaps I'm missing some details.

Honestly though... more>> I like the MC a bit. However he can be a Mary sue type. Sure he suffers but all in all he somewhat got plot armor and the only development is going through a lot of mental suffering that is equivalent to hell. It's crazy how he didn't get depression. But what I don't like is well he got powers alright but he never used it as much. It's a very highly powered golden finger that didn't get much used or explored their usage. It's just a manual or a spreadsheet that shows what it is, how to use them, and then only to use it based on the basics. Only the villains has more usage. It would've been fine if he abuse it more.

The 12 gong are unique on their own. Having fitting backstories, personalities, and motivation. But what is somewhat disappointing would be the few of those at the nearing and end climax didn't get the proper fleshed out to make them memorable (except backstory wise and personality).

For example, one of the beast happen to meet MC when he was a kid (it was mention that MC saved a dying kitten), but then I dunno somewhere in the text was indicating this person is from a past life. But he doesn't know what he looks like cause he lost his memory due to his tail. So how could that the kid and this person who looks like from the past life be related? I dunno. It could be just intentional. However this didn't get explored.

And lastly ending. Well it's okay. But the final battle a but of a letdown. The fights from the past chapters are pretty fine but the last one was just more of convenience to be honest. Not gonna spoil anything but basically while I like how the villain came to be. His fight was pretty bland.

I thought it was just a PWP as is p*rn without Plot type of story, but naaaah, it has plot, it has drama, it has circumstances that will make your heart itch and it's good enough. So yeah, once you passed through the first few chapters it'll get better. The ending though fuuudge HAHAHAA

Well, that first chapter throws you off the deep end and hopes you keep reading. Though having that first chapter is good because it sets everyone up for the incoming r*pe smut.

But the novel changes tones drastically half way through. You can definitely tell where the author took a hiatus. However, it did read like you were reading 2 different books.

All in all, the book was decent. The characters are mostly district, even if a little bit stereotypical. And I don't like holy mother protagonists, but that's my preference so... more>> I won't hold it against the book.

I still have an issue with the protagonist being able to speak coherently while in agony though. I realize that it's the standard protagonist plug-in, but at least make him gasp for breath! <<less
