I dislike this world setting where MC is super OP and physics doesn't apply to them. If Metaphysics works in this universe, then by this point in time tons of people would practice it. Metaphysics only working for MC and slightly for people around her makes for a very handwave and really hard to believe world setting.

The MC's personality is cold and empty. The ML (who appears around the beginning) is the contrast to her. However, MC's attitude seems to be disconnected with the world, sometimes giving me a feeling of a third person, even within the novel. MC kinda lacks a degree of EQ but it understandable as she was an immortal (?) I don't understand how she can be a movie queen just like so even with the stoic face of hers.

Yes, the plot is well thought through and there is mysteries around the MC that she needs to solve for those around her and herself.

Rated 4/5 but actually more like 4.5/5.

I'll start off by saying that all reviews are partial but regardless, I really enjoyed this story. This story won't appeal to everyone and you have to understand that.

The romance is almost non-existent, but that was a huge bonus for me because I don't really enjoy the romance aspects of most Cnovels I read anyway, I'm more interested in the fantasy aspect. There IS an ML, the romance just isn't a big part of the story and he is more like the other side... more>> characters, just with slightly more importance.

Metaphysics, as they call it, plays a huge part of the story (duh) so if the supernatural/fortune-telling genre doesn't sit well with you then you won't like this. The first part had a lot of ghosts and stuff and I almost had trouble sleeping cos I read at night LOL. It's not that it's super scary, I'm just a scaredy cat. It's still fun to read though.

The humor was good. I snorted many times LOL. There are also thigh-slapping and chuckling moments.

Some people may not like the MC because of her personality and how she's expressionless a lot of the time, but it doesn't bother me. She still has feelings, she just doesn't really show it on her face and she obviously still cares. She's just naturally cold and aloof.

The only "negative" thing about this story is that towards the end, like maybe the last 10-15 chapters or so, it started to feel like the pace was speeding up a bit too quickly. I feel like a few things were brushed over and there was a bit of lack of explanation for some things, but not important enough to really mull over. At least it's not like some stories were they leave a lot of questions unanswered and you're like huh???? wait what??? what about...??? So this is already a better ending than a lot of stories.

TLDR; Enjoyable read with a slightly rushed ending that may or may not disappoint you. Personally I think it was worth the read and I would recommend. <<less

I rate this 3.5 but I rounded it off to 4.

I'm actually satisfied. The romance element here is definitely one sided but it's not to the point where it's pitiful or annoying to read. In fact, the romance here is subtle and more on how the ML care for the FL and want to follow her. The FL on the other hand does not reject him but also does not accept. She even said she's unworthy. To be honest, I have a lot kf questions. Like, who is the ML's... more>> destined partner? The FL should be able to see but even though she was confessed to, she did not advise him about his lovelife. This makes me wonder if she's the destined partner but just doesn't put romance in her eyes. I don't know, but since it has already ended there's no point in discussing this.

Anyway, I am satisfied with the plot. It is simple even below average if you're going to compare it with the general trend these days but I must say that if you're looking for something light and simple, then this is a good read. <<less

It's a good story that completely focuses on the female lead. It's good in the sense that the male lead is not much involved because based on the story arc, he wasn't pushed into the story for no reason. I loved the supporting character specially the ghost, pet and the assistant. It gets a bit frustrating when the female lead does not clarify anything but her heart is in good place with thinking that karma will play it's part. It was a bit jarring to see the how female lead... more>> shows her power with no one being surprised for more than a second but it makes sense when you read further ahead. The author sets up a world where there are people who believe in these powers to a certain extent which helps explain how female lead establishes her hold. I thought of it as Tony stark declaring that he is Iron man. <<less

Qingyao is the Main Character, while the other are supporting character. Although Qin Ze was introduced as ML by the author, it feels like he was just a sidekick. The romance is nonexistent, so the romance tag should be removed.

Overall, it's entertaining story IMO. Qingyao - Qianqian - Feifei comedic part is what I enjoy the most. Unfortunately the ending was quite rushed.

It's actually pretty decent. The style is a bit boring at first but I got used to it as the chapters went on. At first, you'd think it would all lead to nothing, but in the end she managed to get her goal; movie queen.

She's well respected after she showed what she's capable of; even the hostile people became good to her right after. I can't say their character development is the best, but it's already quite good.

Who I thought was the big antagonist was actually not it, and in... more>> the end this character even sided with MC hahah. As for the main villain, he was already there in the beginning, pulling strings in the background. I can't say it's well written or anything, the person just came abruptly. Even Mc's conclusion only showed up in the end despite 'thinking about it for a few days/chapters back'.

I'm quite disappointed in the romance; author enthusiastically introduced ML despite minimal appearance, so I really thought they would end up together, turns out it was an open ending. I was quite shocked that I was already the end but the implications were that he was only planning to pursue MC. His feelings also came quite abruptly.

Why 5? It deserves more read hahah. It's easy to disregard the other points, as it is quite enjoyable. It is only edited mtl, and it's easy to understand, but that may also be why there's no consistent style (?)

Master Qingyao is awesome!

The story was nice to read and the concept surrounding it was kind of novel to me. But it was awesome all the same. The plot was fulfilling and unnecessary fillers were not present. All in all, it was very enjoyable.

I had been very excited to read this once the translation had become complete, but when I read it, I slowly became disappointed, but I still gave it 2 stars due to the fact that it's somewhat good enough for me since I barely managed to read it until the 90th chapter.

MC promised the original owner that she'll become the movie queen in her stead, but guess what I've read until the 90th chapter? Most of the entertainment industry scenes are more on the reality shows and some commercials and although there were eventually some few dramas she can act in, it's literally not enough in being a movie queen!

Shouldn't this novel be like about the MC being a master of metaphysics in which should be perfectly shown in the novel, but because of a promise, the novel will show a lot of scenes of her being a small actress into a famous movie queen? But instead, I got an MC who was a master of metaphysics, but is often being doubted even when she'd shown her strength as one which could be perfectly described as something otherworldly, because of the current standard of their modern metaphysics. The MC also focuses more on reality shows and commercials than some actual dramas that could literally help her more in becoming a movie queen, like WTF!?

And also, what's up with their reactions to MC showing her powers as a master of metaphysics?

They get shocked at one point then almost immediately at the next day, they all act normal as if that event was a normal occurrence in their modern day when it's not.

Like, THE f*ck?

There were also some scenes of brainless characters who's trying to pick a fight with the MC, when they literally just saw her strengths as a master of metaphysics before.

There were other more scenes in some chapters, but I just don't know how to describe it in the right words.

This story is a solid 3 for me. The translation is great but the story is kinds bland. I usually like slice of life stories but still felt this one was a bit boring maybe becuase the romance was nonexistant and the MC was supposed to be an actress but ther was no effort on that side. I understand that she is a metaphysical master it would have been nice if she just concentrated on that side and not wishy washy act as an actress/

The ending still felt a bit... more>> rushed they could have added a bit about the master instead of the side characters.

The good thing is that the sotry is short and it's fine if you are looking to read something that doesn't need a lot of thinking. <<less

Quite a short read. Interesting, with funny moments. Not much romance and a rushed ending. Still, you can spend a day reading through this light novel for a change of pace.

Translation: 9/10

Plot: 6.5/10

+ metaphysics (although not all that detailed)

+ nice side characters

+ sweet ML (let's assume he is the ML)

+ happy ending (I guess we can count it as such?)

+ cool protagonist not focused on romance

+ funny moments and overall positivity

+/- no dog-blood drama

+/- lost at birth plot (but not the main focus)

- rushed ending that is not satisfactory (but as it is a light read, it didn't bother me as much as it usually does)

- no conclusion that we would expect

- it could use another 50 chapters to nicely wrap up (and would make a huge difference!)

- simple plot (not many twists except this ONE that I didn't see coming)

Check my general overview on top as even with the cons, I don't regret reading it. <<less

Curiosity brought me here. I’m reading another novel translated by MDMTL called ‘the interstellar chef raising a baby’ and I liked it so much that I looked up other novels translated by them. The translation quality is good so I knew I didn’t have to worry about that. And I was right to trust them! Great novel! So funny!
