A metaphysical master Gong Qingyao never dreamed that one day she would be transmigrated into two thousand years later.

After transmigration, Gong Qingyao has two goals in life.

1. Make good use of her metaphysical skills.

2. Acting well.

But what did this person who has been following her want?

Qin Ze: “Me? I’m your third life goal.”

During a press conference.

Reporter A: “I heard that you can participate in this reality show because of unspoken rules?”

Gong Qingyao glanced at the reporter. Her husband and wife palace has collapsed. Her eyebrows were sunken and there was a black air: “Your husband cheated, if you go home now, you can still catch him.”

Reporter B: “According to insider, your scene in the middle and late stages of this show has increased because you have a close relationship with the director.”

Gong Qingyao glanced at this other reporter.

A person’s parents’ house was on the forehead. Looking at this reporter parents’ house, his left forehead was narrow and collapsed, indicating that his father has passed away, while his right forehead was also sinking and darkly stagnant: “Your mother is sick and it is life-threatening. You are recommended to return quickly.”

The reporters took a step back in silence.

Gong Qingyao: “Are there any more questions?”

Reporters: “…” No, no.

“Did you find out? Any products with commercials or endors**ents by Gong Qingyao will be sold out!”

“What’s this! Anyone who has partnered with Gong Qingyao will call her ‘Sister Yao’, even the best actor is no exception!”

“Well, Gong Qingyao doesn’t seem to have any anti fans, even if there are, they will turn into fans within a month.”

I really like this kind of genre. It's well written and the plot thickens. There is no fillers, I felt the plot is compact.

I read this title after reading the books written by the same author. The title is: the Bosses Begged Me to Plant the Land.

The character in this books is also very detached just like BBMPL but this much better, just a lil bit better, less detached but still detached.

One thing is bugging my conscience. After the last battle she didn't share the names of people who contributed... more>> such as Xiaomei, Yuxue, and Qianqian's boyfriend. I mean, the lost their life. Why didn't say anything about them? <<less

She promise the Original body that she would become the movie queen as a thanks for taking over the body. But guess what this don't happen. Why?

Cause literally half of this novel is MC being a verity tv show, next she get an ad for this clothes brand, then she play side character that only has a few line, after that near the end she finally get's lead role. And then that was it.

there is no process/progress of MC growing as an actor to get the movie queen title. It's like she doesn't even really care about it.

the novel largely focus on the MC doing her metaphysical skills and the verity tv show.

Romance was a big let down. ML barely showed up in the first 45 chapters.

I don't even know how ML came to love MC, it was random with no progress shown. MC doesn't even show interest in ML too, so I don't get why "romance" is even in the tag.

the novel was going okay/readable til after the filming the last ep for the tv show where all of a sudden things took a serious turn out of no where with no heads up, rushing the novel to the end.

Also the bad guy was defeated wayyyyyyyy to easy. In fact the bad guy only showed up for about 1 to 2 chapters and then was killed by the MC. Like bruh is you sure a bad guy suppose to be this easy to defeat? SMH.

All in All, wasted my time and would not recommend you to read this novel. <<less

It was really good until chapter 30 where it started going into a different direction. MC wants to be a famous actress but she has zero personality and she doesn’t even talk much or smile at all, how boring. All she does is metaphysics and nothing to improve herself as an actress but then she would go ahead and do acting stuff like no big deal. Acting is that simple huh? She encounters strange things everywhere she goes and after awhile it’s started becoming like ok this is all over... more>> the place.
translation is done beautifully with nothing to pinpoint. So, great job translator, really appreciate it. At chapter 32, I’m struggling to continue reading and feeling more and more sleepy. Maybe one day I’d continue but who knows. <<less

I liked this as a relaxing, no-drama, urban fantasy read. The MC is a powerful qi cultivator (called metaphysics master in this novel) from ancient times who transmigrates to an actress in the modern world. She's calm, taciturn, straightforward, omniscient and OP. There's no-drama because ... more>>

no matter what other people plan, she can handle any issue and any supernatural disturbances that come up.

It's rare to find a heroine who is calm, practical, speaks little, is so independent and can defend herself. It's cute that the ML is aware of all her abilities and kind of fan-boys over her.

It's not a sweet fluffy romance. The MC is an adult woman who focuses on cultivating, being righteous and helping people. The story is more about the MC saving people, pets, and foiling criminals. I particularly like that the villain (so far) isn't a run-of-the-mill jealous female rival, but rather child/women s*ave traffickers.

Of course it's unrealistic that no one covets her power/belongings, but it's probably just as unrealistic that she transmigrated, has qi powers, talks to ancient fierce beasts, sees/controls ghosts, and that the gov't wouldn't shut her down for talking about metaphysics in public. I'll just enjoy the novel for a fun, light, but interesting read. (It's a nice break from dominant ML/super-drama type novels.) <<less

It's a very good novel. Unlike most of other novels of this category, the heroine is not face slapping every day. She helps the missing children find home along with the ml. The translation is also very good, only complaint is the ads on the website, they are sometimes very disgusting. I understand the need for ads, but it would be great if the ads are monitored. I request the translator to notice this issue.

    1. First off, I'd like to say that although the story is nothing new, this is a good one to read. So, let's support this novel ppl :)
    1. At the moment of reading, there's not much on the romance department and more of the MC's OP-ness (to some extent) is shown. However, it's good this way since the character is only starting out. I also like how the ppl around her are starting to become her fans. Also, the cultivation genre is nothing new but I find myself interested... more>> with the feng shui/divination part. I mean, most cultivation novels I've read focused on swordsmanship/medical/pill refining/beast taming so this is a good change.
    1. BTW, the TL ask to give some love for this one so here I am, hahhaha.

I usually love the cold, strong, kick-ass independent MC but in my opinion the way this MC treats the ML is not right. It is obvious that she doesn’t like him romantically, all she cares about is metaphysics, metaphysics and metaphysics. She didn’t tell him no, but she just goes along whenever he asked her out, accepted everything he has done and given her. This gave him the illusion that they’re going somewhere but there wasn’t a single ripple in her heart. MC just strings him along, used him, never... more>> rejecting him but never end up being with him. If she wasn’t the MC, everyone would say this is a despicable, shameless cannon fodder that needs to go. However since she have the MC halo, everyone loves her.

This novel is full of plot holes, dates, timeline and prices are inconsistent, author changes dates and prices (house prices, item prices, mc’s money) as she pleases.

All the antagonists have negative IQ and their tricks were petty, kindergartens level. But her fans and followers are even worse, all they did were sprout rainbow farts about the amazing MC, who have facial paralysis. I don’t even understand how she could be a great actor since she can’t even smile normally or have any ordinary facial expressions.

My biggest beef with the MC is, at the beginning of the story the MC have said multiple times that she wants to find out who have been using metaphysics to harm innocent people.

Spoiler

Especially she had gave her word to Lu Qian Qian that she would help her find out who caused LQQ’s death and avenge her. When they have finally found the culprit, what did the MC do? She just let him go, because she have to go shoot the reality tv!!!! Like wtf? She knows this guy s**ked innocent peoples life force in order to extend his life and she didn’t immediately put an end to him! The mf wasn’t even repentant, he planned on continuing his vile practice. It’s like the cops caught a serial killer, have the evidences and knows he will kill again, but just let him go just because they have a show to shoot. I’m sure the MC would solve him eventually but I just can’t stand this hypocrisy of the mc’s. Who knows how many innocent lives he would have taken by the time she finally bothers to get him?. Oh that reminds me, MC have never dealt with any villains by herself, she either leave them to the cops or wait until they get their own retribution from heaven. This villain who killed LQQ is a metaphysics master so the cops couldn’t deal with him.

[collapse]

Another thing is that the mc’s IQ seem to have dropped. At the beginning, MC is all knowing but towards chapter 118 MC seem to have zero idea about how to find the villains. So I dropped this nonsensical novel. <<less

It's a decent read overall. A pretty simple, straightforward and mostly fun novel about a girl who cultivated her metaphysical power in the time of the ancients being reborn into modern times, an age of skepticism.

Minimal romance, but what is there is pretty cute! Finale spoilers but ... more>>

I was astonished that they didn't formally get together in the end and it just ended with Qin Ze continuing to chase Gong Qingyao. But it does make sense for her character.

[collapse]

Speaking of the ending, it was really poorly set up. Almost none of the information we got in the entire first hundred and ten chapters of the novel were relevant and everything had to be explained in the moment. Like, it wasn't bad, but just be prepared to hear about a lot of things you've never heard about before all of a sudden.

Like I said, it's a good novel and I definitely enjoyed it even if it didn't super spark my interest. The ending definitely felt rushed and almost unfinished so that detracted a bit from my overall enjoyment though. Still, I'd recommend giving it a shot. <<less

It was a fun read, if you're not looking for romance. It has actually the right amount of pace on the story. You should also take into consider that even though it is in romance category, it was only a subplot lol. So, I was definitely craving for some because I know we all want a female husband and male wife tandem.

The start was really good it hooked me right in. I love CNs where the FL solves mini-cases esp. Of the metaphysics kind. But I felt that there's no cohesion with this story or rather a very thin layer of glue was added to hold up this jumble.

The author wasn't good at world building because some random stuff just popped out of nowhere. It felt forced whenever the author tried to move the plot along. The end was really a 🤣 moment. No momentum at all and ending was a... more>> hot mess. But for some reason my reaction was, "Go author you can do it just sprint with all your might towards the finish line!" XD

The FL is your regular OP meta master with no expressions (nothing wrong with that) while ML is a really decent guy. The romance was meh as per usual with these Metaphysics genre.

Should have been 3 ☆ but I enjoyed the mini-cases so upped to 4 ☆. <<less

I loved this! It got a 5 because I just enjoyed reading it. It was pretty well paced honestly. Sometimes plotlines were a little hard to follow, but context clues usually fixed that. The biggest drawback to this is that it's not romance. There is a hint that there could be something there one day, but they don't actually get together in this book.

It shines in that the characters are just pretty loveable. Certain characters in particular caught me off guard with tears. The author is good at writing livestream... more>> barrages too--I had a few giggles at some of the netizen's words.

If I had one thing I'd like to fix I think I'd reduce the amount of extraneous characters. That's part of why the plot-threads got lost once or twice. <<less

3/5. Beginning was interesting, deflated in the end. As metaphysics story, the villain died too easily. As an idol story, MC does not do much and too wooden. As a romance story, there is no romance here. As a slice of life, hmm this should be it. That's why it is more enjoyable at the beginning when it is more like a slice of life story.

The story is messy, like a bowl of salad that can't decide if it wants to be cold salad or warm salad, if it wants... more>> vinegar dressing or creamy dressing, so everything is thrown together but it ends up being nothing much. <<less

What a frigging bore. I had to drag myself to finish this. The plot could have been nice but the MC is too flat. The romance between MC and ML is too forced and the whole plot seemed so shallow. Plenty of plotholes and some metaphysics are just unexplainable or plot armor covers it. The story started getting better around chapter 30 then it went downhill again. Gave it 3 stars in respect to the translator who was so kind to provide pictures and references.

Originally, it's 5 star but I deducted 1 star since the ML (which doesn't have that much impact or what we call the "ML halo") and the FL doesn't really romance between them. That's the only thing I'm dissatisfied with. So for those who wants romance, this is not for you. But this story still great though when it talk about morality, friendship and values. Honestly, the tag "slow romance" should really be erased, because for me, there's really no romance between them (it's more of one-sided love). The FL... more>> is really like an immortal who doesn't care about things like romance and the mundane world and I like her a lot. She's one who will kill you with kindness (but not one who is easy to bully. Definitely not). <<less

I'm obsessed with this story. This is a solid 4-star novel but I give it 5 stars coz I do think more people should read this.

The overall story is very calm and well-paced. The FL grew along with every other character. She is a bit OP but it fits the tone of the story. I wish the author would stretch the ending a bit longer to tell more stories about FL, ML, Feifei, and the mountain village. It does feel a bit rushed near the end. Nonetheless, I love everything... more>> about this story. It tied up everything very well and stressed a lot about karma. If there's one message about this novel, it's that bad people always receive retribution one way or another, just that sometimes it's not in the way that we want.

The FL may appear cold and detached but she's actually really cute and a heart-warming person. She never tries to hurt anyone or get revenge. She always takes care of those around her and always gives everyone a chance to change and grow. A really lovable person, really.

My favorite character is Qianqian, she's such an adorable character. And while the FL rarely speaks, Qianqian rarely stops chattering lol.

There is very little romance in the story. ML keeps chasing FL, but FL seems rather indifferent most of the time. But
Spoiler

when it's revealed that they had already encountered each other in the previous life, I actually think FL had a feeling for him but she's so clueless about love life. So ML still had a long way to go.

As for the translation, it relies a lot on the reader's ability and understanding of Chinese culture. There are quite a few grammar mistakes that can deter beginner-level CN readers. <<less

It was a good read. I like how the relationship between the ML and our MC was open ended, the ML was determined to get MC. The way MC caught ML's interest was the cliche 'oh she didn't fall for me immediately like other girls' that along with how he seemed a bit cold in their first meeting I thought he would be one of those black-bellied, cold but then falls just for her, possessive MLs but surprise surprise, he wasn't. ML didn't really have that much of a presence,... more>> I mean like the one most love interests usually have. This is refreshing to read because although I admit that I LOVE possessive, cool and OP MLs, this type of kinda-just-a-supporting-role ML is kind of rare in Chinese novels, or maybe I just haven't read enough novels yet lol.

MC's character was very and I mean VERY consistent. She was focused on metaphysics with a bit of concern in acting because of the previous person's wish. She treated everyone equally and didn't really hold grudges, as proved by cases of her helping Yu Chuxue and others who used to despise her or just tried to make her look bad etc. It was also nice to see that the novel ended with the relationship between her and ML stay as friends with only ML having a one-sided love. It means that even if we assume that MC and ML do end up together, the relationship had adequate time to develop. It's pretty new to me since most, no, all the Chinese novels I've read about reincarnation were essentially revenge and the MC is supposedly coldhearted/cautious because of betrayal or just plainly cold (similar to our MC in this novel) yet when they meet ML they suddenly change and instead of the badass independent woman we were promised in the synopsis, the MC ends up accomplishing her goals and slapping people's faces because of ML. In this one, MC face slaps people by proving them wrong using her own strengths with ML only helping her in a few limited scenes. (Sometimes I kinda get sidekick vibes from ML lol)

The side characters had pretty good development too, unlike most rebirths that are composed of face slapping and more face slapping, this story shows us that people can indeed change for the better.

I really enjoyed reading this, unfortunately, like every story, this one has flaws (no sh*t sherlock nothing's perfect). But seriously, there were many parts that I was kind of disappointed with how they turned out.

The children-go-home that ML established was really heartwarming since they were helping so many families. But it just persisted for a few chapters before it seemingly vanished into thin air in the story, only mentioned again when MC's parents found out about her being the master behind the scenes that made finding children possible. It just gave the vibe of only being used to create a relationship between MC and ML and proving how righteous and amazing MC is. Since the story was open ended and there was no confirmation if they did get together, I think the author could've used a different approach or at least maintained its sense of presence up until the end.

The plot was kind of repetitive. It was essentially just reality show-she solves a problem-she gets rewarded-she enters a crew-cultivates. Although the scenes of the reality show and the problem she solves vary, it's still a repetitive cycle.

I pity the ML since there wasn't a change in his and MC's relationship until the end but I pity the main antagonist and Xiaomi more. The former was MC's enemy in both lives so a bit more background story would've gave his character more depth instead of just being this despicable villain that we should all hate. I mean there wasn't even a mention of why they became enemies or why he wanted to destroy the world and stuff. He just appeared and tanked hatred for Wang Ningyang (Ning Yong? I'm not sure). He just seemed like the typical 2d villains like in those kiddie shows that wanted to wreak havoc for no reason. God even the villains from powerpuff girls got pretty decent backstories considering they were for kids!

Next is Xiaomi, MC's apprentice-wannabe in her previous life. She died for her but then the author seemed to have forgotten about her and Grandma Qian. Like, there weren't any mentions of what happened to her after she died. Was her body retrieved? Was it stuck on the formation? Or even how did Grandma Qian react? She was just mentioned briefly when Xiaomi made her take her to the capital and then that was it. I mean there should've at the very least an explanation of what happened to them no matter how brief right?

There also wasn't anything about how they dealt with the Jiang family, which was strangely not mentioned at least once before the whole disaster thingy, given the fact that they were supposedly cooperating with the main antagonist. They just seemed to have been pulled out from thin air to give a reasoning behind Qin family being targeted. Sure the author might've already put these puzzle pieces together beforehand since MC's aunt's husband was an illegitimate child of the Jiang family but there wasn't really enough foreshadowing about their existence beforehand.

I would've liked at least a bit of love rival chemistry between Lu Yongyi (Xingyi? Sorry I tend to mix their names up) and ML. Even if it was just in subtle ways like Yongyi noticing ML liking MC and being a bit bitter in his heart or something.

Sorry for ranting lol, I didn't even realize I had so many things to say. Anyways, I wasn't really privy of these kind of things when I first started reading. If you're looking for a light read and don't mind a few details missing then I recommend this! <<less
