As a newborn vampire, Luo ZhouZhou’s instincts are ingrained in his genes making him embark on a constant lifelong quest for a matching mate. His mate’s blood must be warm and sweet, with the scent of red caltrop fruit. However, after almost twenty years of searching without any luck, Luo ZhouZhou felt himself withering away until he traveled to an unknown time and space.

Getting accustomed to his new human life (not human, vam-pi-re!) is far from easy, but when he ends up at the office of the Bayard district’s police station, he finally finds the smell he has been searching for all this time.

Only a whiff and I know he’s the mate I’ve been looking for!

In a strange place with pheromones and secondary genders, the naive Luo ZhouZhou, who knows nothing about the workings of this ABO world, has to find the owner of that scent. And there’s also an omega killer on the loose!

What are omegas and alphas? Some kind of personal s*aves? If only this General Chu Feng would leave this vampire in peace so he can fulfill his lifelong quest, dammit!

A great story! I had a lot of misunderstanding at beginning until I think half of the story. I thought it's a typical transmigration story and the author just added the MC's vampire identity in his 1st life, but there's more into that. The relationship between the leads are adorable; mainly because of MC's naivety and misunderstanding about the ML. ML also has a strong personality, a good backstory and clear goal; not a typical talisman for the MC.

This is the first book I picked up after a year of not reading Danmei. The reason? Cuz the title has vampire in it. And to my surprised, this is my Rank4 Favorite book. 4.8/5⭐️ whenever Zhouzhou goes “Chu Feng” my heart screams!!!

While the MC is the naive and foolish type, he's not actually s*upid and can be very mature at times. It's just that his reality is so different that he looks like a fool to others. Getting used to the MC is the only drawback to the story, but his character is actually very consistent and there a genuine reason for how he is.

I have to give this a good rating. Normally, I really dislike exaggeratedly s*upid characters, but there's a specific reason for that. It's authors that describe the character as intelligent, yet write the character as the opposite. That isn't the case here. The main character comes across has having an intellectual handicap. He presents as childish and, to be blunt, with a very low IQ. However, the author makes it clear that he's actually supposed to be like that, and there's no attempt to describe him otherwise. It's consistent, both... more>> in writing and author's description. I like that while this is ABO, and pheromones play a part, it's not a constant catastrophe of going into rut/heat/estrus/whatever you want to call it. It's sickeningly 'sweet' through most of the story, but outside of the cloying scenes, the story is, while predictable, still interesting. It's not a mentally stimulating read, but it's a nice story to putter along with and relax. <<less

I just started off reading this book and while I am looking forward to the entailing romance.I am currently very, very distressed for our MC. He's a clueless child thrown into this world... and he's an omega of all things who should be mindful of his heat cyles and all. I want someone to drag him and teach him OBA Biology. Issokay if he's eccentric otherwise but I hope the kid can take care of himself.

Oh God I was THIS close to stop reading after getting such second hand embarrassment at the beginning since I'm not used to naive main character and more use to smart male God types BUT I learnt from the reviews and pulled through THANK YOU GUYS I didn't stop cuz the later part is so good!!! I'm so happy that I didn't stop reading it lol

Also I'd like to disagree with the people who call zhou zhou s*upid. Remember he's a vampire (or he thinks he is) who's thrown into... more>> a world where he doesn't understand ANYTHING and it's just not normal humans but an ABO world! His denial and confusion all makes sense and is cleared up as the story progresses. He's just a goofy lil vampire you'll come to love.

I love the couple they're so freaking cute I wish it had extras with just the couple's interaction but it's ok! They're just so fun to read it's the best part

Regarding the mysteries, they're not long winded at all. The story is very fast paced and not boring I read it all in one go.

  • At first it was really interesting to read cos there were a lot of suspense and mystery I was like is he goin to be the male lead or is he? Who is the mu*derer? Like that it was fun to guess
  • as the story goes on it starts getting realllly too soft paced and unflavoured really makes you go like mehhh
  • the MC is really cute sometimes even I want to kidnap him home wuwuwuw so adorable the ML is well cute I guess but a bit plain he went through a lot of stuff and shet
  • the general aka "dad" of the MC was also a very interesting character I really liked him as he was pretty unpredictable
  • anyways I was lookin forward to this novel a lot but its just too boring I cant continue anymore too dragggyyyy if the author has been more straightforward like in the start the novel would be much better

Ok it's surprisingly a very awesome story...

I am not a great fan of childish and naive MC, ohh but I was hooked. In the initial chapters I sometimes fell a bit annoying, of how he was not accepting his omega identity and so on, at that time I was about to quit, but then I remembered the review saying how grateful the person was for continuing reading the story so I started reading it again. I AM EXTREMELY THANKFUL THAT I DIDN'T SIMPLY QUIT IT 'CAUSE IT'S AN... more>> AMAZING STORY.

I enjoyed reading it a lot, every thing was great about it be it the plot line, plot twist, characters or the translations everything top notch and was in right place, and it did not feel rushed at the end.

Even though I felt MC was annoying at the beginning it was not because MC was actually annoying but childish MC was not to my taste, so thank god I did not drop the novel.

MC was naive and childish but just in front of ML and later in front of his parents that's in, in front of others he was actually clever, extremely intelligent and brave. I actually started liking him alot after reading some of the initial chapters.

ML was sooo good, he had a very tragic part where he lost the parents he loved deeply and his comrades who he shared quite a lot life threatening battles with. He was an injured soul and after he met MC his soul started to heal slowly but smoothly. MC was his white moonlight and became one of the reasons be was alive except revenge. The amount of care he put into taking care of MC was tooo much oof I also want someone like him. He protected MC with all his might.

This story made me smile a lot from the bottom of my heart and also stuffy sometimes. I think MC and ML were the best match in the story they were simply made for each other.

I felt a tiny bit regret, it was there was no children about MC being pregnant and their child I wanted to read so much about it.

Anyway an awesome story worth ur time and energy. Thanks I am extremely grateful to the author and translators for the amount of hard work u put in the story. <<less

PLOT 5* Excellent writing / good translation with an intriguing over all plot that kept me invested; although the focus of this story is the romance

ROMANCE 4* sweet and supportive relationship but not "hot", unfortunately (in my opinion) all the steamy scenes are "fade to black" and skipped, the attraction is kind of hard for me to understand because the MC feels too child-like

MC 2* I love how weird MC is, unfortunately the MC is also extremely naive/child-like to the point where it's unbelievable and doesn't make sense; MC is... more>> not physically strong but isn't a push over, later has talent in scientific research

ML 3* not particularly memorable, tough guy detective/ officer who loves and supports mc; physically strong and can cook <<less

Great writing, amazing description, I feel like I can see the scene described but holy sh*t MC is dumb. Plot is taking my brain cells away. I can’t read more than 10 chapters, I skipped to 50 and MC still dumb so I dropped it.

Loved it! Both the story and characters were great! The mystery had me on the edge of my seat. I liked the feeling of finding out things together with the characters in the story. There still some cliche tropes but it was still very enjoyable!

The unexpected plot twist of the truth behind mc's Transmigration was a nice touch.

MC's character is very consistent from start to finish while ML was not the usual cold-faced/unemotional ML. He expressed his emotions to MC and he was never domineering and overly possessive. In short, he felt very human and I could easily sympathise with him and his past, unlike in other novels where you don't really pay attention to the ML since he's always very OP. Loved the family of MC as well, the dad is very cute.

Thank you author and translator for the hard work ❤️❤️❤️. Definitely recommend this if you want to read something light-hearted with great characters and a great story (imo). 💯 <<less

I'm just coming here to say that after re-reading a lot of mc's seemingly s*upid decisions make sense for his characterisation and it shouldn't stop you from enjoying this great book. Semi-major spoilers below

When that criminal was following him and wanted to r*pe him, MC wasn't scared even as he recognized someone was stalking him. Why? Because he was in his self-delusion arc, he still thought he was a vampire and acted like one. So why, as a vampire, would he be scared of a mere mortal? Even when the general shows up and forces the criminal to confess what he wanted to do to the MC, he still wasn't scared; he just started to kick the sh*t outta the criminal. And when his powers come back and he really starts kicking ass, you realise that as a vampire he's essentially invincible.

So even though he's a little silly, from the mc's own perspective of himself he's still the biggest shark in the ocean and he treats himself and everything around him accordingly. <<less

Totally called it when I saw that Surprise! The Supposed Talent Show Was Actually–?! Was a recommendation. Altho I got a bit confused in the middle or near end cause it really seems like Luo Zhouzhou transmigrated. Anw, it was a really good read, MC both had their sad past and they were both honest with each other and I liked that. I like that LZZ got his vampire powers back and he really was the cure for the sunset face, which I think is a really horrible disease. It's cliche that the president is the main villain but well, it's still very nice. General Luo Pei was really working hard hahhaa. Qi Fen, well I'm happy for him. Hmm, I love LZZ. I also like chu feng very much. It's different cause LZZ has been really honest from the start hahaha and again I loved how OP LZZ was near the end hehehee

One of The best sci-fi/paranormal BL ever. The world building is great and the way the author and translators set the scene. The romance is just so friggin perfect with a whole lot of showing and less telling than most BL novels out there. I just wish there was smut lol but even without it, the implied fade to black was still pretty sweet. Honestly, I mostly can't get over how well the author (and translators) developed the romance by showing it in the little things that slowly built up... more>> over time. I've read this twice and will most likely be happy enough to reread this again in the future. <<less

This author is a real gem—managed to put a new, creative and reasonable spin on the hybrid genre. Love also how she (?) engineers a strange and beautiful equality to the OTP in this and a previous work I read (the virtuous omega one). Not perfect because not all the twists and turns in the plot have a great pay off, but at least they are daring and entertaining. Well worth the read when you don't feel like dropping more brain cells than necessary.

Give this a shot, you won't regret it. 😊 Maybe bear with the MC for the first few chapters. I was initially very pissed off at him too. But I didn't stop reading because the story was intriguing, and I can't help but be hopeful that MC isn't what he seems to be at first read. Turns out, MC became one of the unforgettable unique characters in my list. 😊

So, what was Chen Sihan secret? The killer threatened him with something concerning his identity, but until the end of the story I didn't catch anything related to it.

And what happened to the vampire patriarch and the wise man?

These plot-holes needed to be filled 😅

One of the most unreliable narrator MC, nicely said he was very naive, but I thought he was gullible. I persevered to the first 20 chapters to continue reading to adapt to MC line of thought.

ahhhhhhh that twist on his memory~ and a Fighter MC for you! Go our lil vampire!!! His like a baby at first only thinking his a vampire but there come ours ML. H e care and always reminds MC to be careful that he should also consider he's an omega. BUT a powerful omega vampire. That soft side of ML who doesn't want to shatter MC hope. There's good fighting/angst and some past conflicts. A very good novel to read! Try it and you'll laugh and follow mc's journey.
