I love how easily MC adapts to the new world bravely facing every challenge she meets. Clumsy but clever, 'the eunuch' captures the heart of many men. A reversed harem.

This book is hilarious. I love Le Yao Yao. She is a very optimistic and cheerful girl. The ML is the typical cold hero who has a thing for our Le Yao Yao.

I recommend this to people who like to read transmigrators stories with a twist like DCF. Its unique and you will fall in love with the it.

The translator does an awesome job on this one. The writing style is easy to follow.

Ahahaha Le Yao Yao makes me laugh so much (such an innocent little perv). Honestly her actions and dialogue makes this story fun to read. The male lead is so hot too. The situations that happen are so wild. Love it.

If you want humor this is it. If you want a taste of romance this is it. Some how during a bungee jump with friends our MC transmigrates to a fictional part of China. She finds herself living the life of a eunuch, even though she is a girl. Her bright and bubbly disposition means she has people who like her. But this isn't enough to protect her from all things, especially Prince Rui. He's the emperor's younger brother and the castle's war dog with a personality like a block... more>> of ice. Our MC and this Prince are polar opposites and begin with indifference growing through curiosity to what may develop into a genuine relationship. Have fun with this novel. It can lift your mood. <<less

Yaoyao is a girl who likes bishies way to much and isn't afraid to perv even in a life or death situation... A girl after my own heart <3. Plot-wise, intriguing. I'm looking forward to how the plot will progress. In various ancient Chinese set novels, eunuch are often portrait as either money-grubbers, ambitious, or loyal and they are often overlooked so I find this novel to be very interesting but the true highlight (or at least the highlight for this early in the novel) is the interactions between the... more>> yaoyao and the other characters.

This novel is funny and has a light pace, and even though you know where this is going, it's interesting finding out how the FL and ML are getting close. It's quite different from other transmigrations chinese novels cause the FL isn't OP, she acts more like we common mortals would in that situation, sometimes naive, other times mischievous.

Warning: do not read if you are looking for a novel that reflects about the deep meaning of life or this kind of profound stuff. It's more prone to facepalms than tears.

For me there are two kinds of reincarnated female MC novel, the one that caters to any gender, and the one that caters to female readers, this particular novel is the latter.

as a male, my gender never hindered me from reading anything I consider a good novel, but this novel in particular excessively praise the male lead like he's the god among st men, I personally dont mind if its just a few chapters but jesus christ, its like a quarter of the novel is about how perfect, incomparable... more>> and beautiful this male lead is. Its not just annoying its cringey as ****, its like reading the female fantasy of a horny 18 year old.

Dont get me wrong this novel is mediocre at best so I wont discredit it by giving a the lowest rating just because its not my cup of tea.

UPDATE

Alright, I know this update is a total contradiction to my previous review but it actually got better, they toned down the phallus stroking also the quality and plot increased a lot. p.s pls read this novel in the official website theenuch (dot) com, other website have stolen a bunch of translators works, please dont support them <<less

I like the pace of this novel because it is quite slow but develops the events fully (like how the MC will end up getting pregnant I suppose). It's a light rom-com transmigration novel with not much plot YET except for surviving being a eunuch in the past but we know somebody will get pregnant.

We're not there yet, but the interaction between the pair is very promising since the MC is crossdressing as a eunuch! We just need to wait a bit more chapters for it to get ripe and... more>> for it to move on to more juicy scenes. You should definitely save it in your TO READ list for a light rom-com novel!

There's no evil plot, no person to murder, no hidden secret knowledge of martial art that will serve as a power-up; but there's just this ordinary 18 year old girl who got transported to the past in the body of a girl crossdressing as a eunuch.

In about 33 chapters, it details events in but a few days in the story. Those are very short chapters and it is nice since it makes you know the characters better.

It is such a refreshing change of pace than stories that dwell too quickly on scenes and move on to battle the world, killing and murdering people who pissed them off, and introducing a gazillion other people. The main focus of this story is the MC's interaction with the guy and how she is a clueless eunuch who likes to watch the prince's hot body when she's helping him change and eye him 'thirstily'.

The romance is the focus and develops slowly (because we are still 3 days in from they first met) but it's in full detail which is quite nice! <<less

I don't like this character. She's weak and bland. She's like if the average 21st century potatoe was transmigrated into a Chinese AU. The person she possessed must be more interesting than her. She's has bland reactions. From the start she's pretty, but otherwise useless, and there's Instalove, along only three recurring characters, with the third there just to close up any plot holes by explaining to the MC her name and tell her what she's supposed to do to move the plot along.

This novel is trying to hook readers for the smutty part but also trying to not become R-18.

I do not like the backstory of how the eunuch became pregnant.

The female lead got a bad character construction. Trying to be intelligent modern girl but I see her as a white lotus/damsel-in-distress type with bird brain where every guy she meets likes her.

The plot is normal. Every backstory is all connected to the female lead in a forced way like wanting to say ‘oh this is a plot twist!’ ‘oh this is... more>> how all the plot twist must revolve on the female lead’ blah blah blah

But I still read it till the end. Yeah honestly I got hooked by the smut and its comedy. <<less

I just feel compelled to write a review. Although it might not even be read by anyone.

First of all, I loved the translation (so thank you translator, despite having to suffer with your work being posted on other random websites). Secondly, this novel gets a 3, not because its bad, really its not. The first 250 chapters are very good for people who want some steamy-lovey-dovey ancient times romance. But after chapter 250 it just looks like the author decided to randomly patch stuff on the novel. Just like that... more>> game were you pass a paper and ask people to complete the story with a phrase and people just go and write whatever?

They basically take 7th prince away and put this random Miao people who never got mentioned before. Its like you are served a good chocolate cake and someone starts putting different toppings on it. They are good toppings, but not in this cake!!!

Oh. But I read until the end. Thanks Xuan'er. You saved it.

Because honestly? If it was me, after making Yu remember stuff, i'd dump him. This guy sucks at decision making (but then again, it might just be the mysterious random poison... sigh). <<less

To be completely honest, I had to force myself to finish reading this because the author is just so inconsistent and the plot holes are just blatantly there sometimes. But I was able to do so because of the dedicated translator (and from her words, a heavy editor) of the novel. Seriously props to the translator she did such a good job despite her many struggles (when editing and translating, as well as dealing with aggregator sites), to completely translate this thing in 1.5 years. It was her mini comments... more>> and announcements that made me read this and kept on reading it until the end.

The story itself has an interesting enough plot but its execution leaves a lot to be desired. The translator did her best to edit the unnecessary parts (such as, and I'm quoting here "You don't want to read 300 words describing a mountain". You're right, I don't, because it has no relevance to the ongoing plot, nor does it build anything, so thank you very much), but you certainly can't cut integral parts to the story. Some of which are just... sigh... examples:
Spoiler

MC knows she's pregnant but keeps on drinking,

[collapse]

Spoiler

MC says she cant have snu snu because she's pregnant, but is open to drinking (I MEAN. WHAT???)

[collapse]

Also, the twist in the last arc was just so weird.
Spoiler

If the author wants to implement "gu" and whatever, at least be consistent??? ML has gu in him that will eventually kill him if he loves another person other than Character A, including MC. BUT THEN HE'S PERFECTLY FINE WITH AFTER HAVING SNU2 WITH MC??? DESPITE GU IS STILL IN HIM???????

[collapse]

So yeah, honestly the story is a 2.5 star, but the translator's efforts makes it a 3.5. <<less

I was recommended this title so I decided to give this story a shot, especially since it was also completely translated about a few months ago. So just be aware that this review is based on someone who's read it in a few sittings (rather than like most who read as the translations come out).

-------------

While the plot wasn't the most spectacular and the characters seemed to be used sparingly (mostly noticeable when it starts to go through those odd 'twists' and its various arcs after chapter ~200), I thought the... more>> story was quite refreshing to read. Of course this depends on your tastes and your degree of patience/tolerance, since this story comes with the many cliches/tropes that you'll find in plenty of other transmigration CN novels. So what really separates this from the rest of the stories out there?

I honestly thought that the translating/editing efforts had a huge positive impact on my enjoyment of the story. While the translator does seem to add a lot of odd messages in the middle of the story (i.e. Their rant against aggregating websites) along with very tricky chapter urls as you'll notice, the story is ultimately much easier to consume and feels refreshing to read due to the translator's/editor's passion for the project which can clearly be seen. You will notice the consistency of the translation as well as the translator's personal remarks in the story which shows they clearly do love the story along with what they are doing. Unfortunately, NovelUpdates reviews guidelines won't let me rate it based on the translator, so I won't let this affect my rating (which is why I gave it a 4 star).

Now onto my review of the story:

Spoiler

First Impressions:

"The Eunuch is Pregnant" from its very first few chapters gives you some mysteries on the the protagonist's original identity, conveniently shrouded due to the female protagonist suddenly transmigrating into the body near the walls. You, as the reader, find out that the female protagonist is employed for the royal residence of the male lead as an eunuch, which raises additional questions on why the original body came to this occupation.

Initially, due to the female protagonist's modern (21st century) upbringing and the personality that didn't prepare her for the politics of the royal residence, this actually works in her favor when she comes into her first encounter with the male lead. This is because the female protagonist's easy-to-read and honest impression was an obvious and refreshing change for the male lead, a Prince, who is usually met with fearful and/or deceitful gaze from the majority of the working class.

My Thoughts:

Personally, I feel that the story started off at a steady pace and I saw this turning into a possibly slow story of 500+ chapters, especially since it was a CN novel, but it was surprising when I remembered that this story would have about 300 chapters (chapter counter is different because the translator had decided to separate them based on length). This made me worry due to the pacing even up to around chapter ~180, and honestly past chapter ~200, it did feel like the author messed up on their pacing when they included time skips of up to ~5 years (i.e. When ML is reported to be killed before the night of female protagonist's wedding). I understand the author wanted to use those time skips to supplement how the female protagonist improved/changed, but feel like they didn't properly utilize the time skip mechanic to their story properly and felt a bit 'odd' (for a lack of a better word) when you find out the ensuing interactions.

Normally I've seen similar stories take a few more chapters before transitioning into time skips, but it ultimately just happened abruptly in my opinion, which led to me personally not feeling too attached to the MC's son, along with the actual impact it might have had to her and those related to MC/ML. Perhaps it's just that I feel like the author could have utilized this supposedly heart-wrenching part of the story better with improved transitions and a more immersive illustration of the impact/aftermath of the ML's sudden disappearance.

However, even with the odd pacing and the poor usage of time skips, I still felt like the story was overall satisfying to read. Although the story is riddled with certain tropes/cliches that you'll see in plenty of other novels, I believe the story does deserve its credit on a rather solid first half of the story. Although the pacing after the time skips felt disjointed, the arcs beyond it aren't too bad, and you do feel somewhat emotionally invested to see through the story and watch the female protagonist and the male lead overcome the various odds posed against them ([in]curable poison, amnesia when they finally meet, love parasite witchcraft, etc).

What really kept me engaged was the mystery shrouded behind the female protagonist. Although I found it predictable (I predicted most of it), it did catch me off-guard when the female protagonist was more of a 'look-alike' or a doppelganger of the evil cult's leader's wife. I honestly thought the female protagonist would be Bai's sister, Princess betrothed to 7th Prince, and also the alleged wife, fiance, or love interest.

Would've also been interesting to see the female protagonist utilize her modern knowledge/'cheats' more to her advantage out of maybe the three times she utilized them and really kind of pivot her into that 'irreplaceable' role that the author kind of pushes with her identity as it's revealed so it made better sense. This is because of the little to no politics and the lack of tension/corruption behind the two kingdom's large ecosystem (usually multiple empresses/princesses/prince/etc, you'd think there is some form of rivalry/scheming). So with the convenient setting of there being no adversaries internally outside of the one love interest (Ning), I felt like the author made it convenient for them to skip over the potential story/sidestory of the protagonist overcoming adversaries that goes beyond martial arts and using her own strength over relying on the male lead (especially since he was gone during this part). Due to the lack of that characterization/development, it felt like the overall world building was a little more flat/simplified.

[collapse]

Overall I'd give this a 3.5 stars. Since I can't give it a 3.5, I've rounded it up to a 4 star since it was overall an enjoyable read for me personally. In the end, it's a fictional story so obviously while I felt like it was missing a lot of potential as I've written in the spoilers, I still gave it a higher rating than what I would normally give since it still did achieve what it was set to achieve, which was to give the reader an emotional journey of the trials of two lovers from different periods (one modern, one ancient). <<less

This was nice. The story itself was good and engaging. Although the last 50 chapters were a bit of a drag it felt like so many things happened on those 50 chapters, more than the previous 250.

There were moments when I got frustrated with the female lead. Moments when I have to ask if she's so smart why does she act so dumb? But I guess that's one of the reasons I got hooked on this story. I'm a bit biased with the male lead since I'm a sucker for... more>> cold on the outside but passionate on the inside types. The naughty bits needed a bit of variation and some of the spoofs were off the mark it kind of ruined some moments, at least for me.

A lot of things happened on this story, at times it was a bit chaotic, but it worked out fine. Let's just say this story was an experience in itself.",) <<less

Extremely bland female character that does absolutely nothing to deserve what she gets.

Her only character trait is that she's extremely happy-go-lucky and forgives offenses instantly and she never learns.

There was this time where the main male lead forces her to stroke his D, she becomes extremely mad, but then it's never heard from again. As if it never happened.

There are never any consequences for the actions of any characters. The plot is extremely simple but moves so slowly it bores me out of my mind. The events become extremely predictable... more>> as well : she goes and does something on her own, she gets into trouble and the prince saves her at the last moment. <<less
