Lee Junghoo died in a car accident. He braved each and every hardship in Jaiden’s body in hopes that he would survive once he cleared the game of the gods, but just when the Empire’s strongest family was about to fall and be killed by the monsters…

[The Beta Test has been completed.] Based on these words, it seemed like he still had another chance.

1 Stop the destruction of the continent.

2 Survive until the age of 35.

He was given these two main quests. He had tried to finish the first one during the beta test. However, he realized that there was no solution to this problem. So this time, he was going to pick the second.

And the first step for him to achieve this was to leave this crazy family of his.

“Maybe the answer is running away from home?”

To be honest, a lot of these reviews don't really hold any substance once you get to the latest arcs. Even though the beginning of this novel had its ups and downs, the academy sets the ball rolling for the later and greater arcs. Yes, sometimes the slang feels overused but in reality, it's the best possible description for what it really is. Experience does not cover everything the author is trying to encapsulate when he uses jjambap or rolling and the translator is doing the best they can to... more>> maintain that original vision the author had.
Spoiler

The most recent completed arc with Iron versus the imoogi and the manticore were honestly riveting. His struggle to defeat the constantly evolving imoogi and the introduction of another monster that was just as strong as the imoogi and Iron created a very compelling narrative. These different corps and their desperate struggle to survive by creating alliances with those they hoped to kill made everything extremely tense. The emotions that the entirety of the Mobile Field Army came through and the statement that Iron's fights only said that he was tired afterwards hold no basis anymore.

[collapse]
. Yes, at times the story makes little sense and Iron does seem like a Gary Stu for portions of the story hold truth, but it is difficult to write a novel that avoids these tropes and still makes a compelling and powerful MC. Yes, the writing falls short at a lot of points and it is keeping the novel from a 5/5 for me but if I had to give a rating for the novel, I would give a 4.1/5. If the quality of the writing and the narrative continues in the way it has since this most recent arc, the rating would definitely increase to maybe a 4.3 or higher, but as of right now to reach the great parts of this novel require a lot of trudging through the mud. <<less

Good ideas, poor execution.

I read the reviews before reading and thought "oh, it's just a power fantasy plot. It might not be these people's cup of tea but I love those!" And, true enough, it is indeed a power-fantasy novel...

However, the author never lets us immerse into the story with the MC. Fight scenes are quick with little to no description of the actual fight. We barely feel any emotion from the MC besides "he was tired".

It feels like reading a rough draft or like if you tried to summarize... more>> a story someone else told you from memory but you don't remember all of the details.

I also agree that leaving Korean slang in was a bit jarring but it's not nearly as big of a problem as the writing itself.

This story could maybe be read when really bored, but it lacks the potential appeal of a military power-fantasy novel. I would love to see this rebooted or something! <<less

This is a fun read so far. As expected of MCs of this genre, they always succeed against any hurdle they face. Sometimes, it just seems like the MC is bluffing, like "Hah! Of course, I planned to faceplant at that specific spot at that specific time. My plan is working out as I intended it!" but I just let it pass. But at least the MC here isn't like the one in The Great Mage Returns After 4000 Years (at least, according to the early chapters of the manhwa.... more>> I got tired of it) where the MC powers up after being such a loser, then bulldozes through every inconvenience in life with the flick of a finger, without even a single strand of her getting out of place.

The MC in this one at least faces difficulties even if he still succeeds in the end, coz y'know... He's the MC. But his struggles are at least entertaining. As another reviewer said, a lot of the novel is just: MC fixes problem, gets praised for his achievements despite his age, rinse & repeat. That bit does get tiresome.

And yes, kudos to the translators for their work on this, but the constant use of "rolling" and "eating jjambap" is just obnoxious. They insist on keeping it because that's the slang used in the novel, and I respect that they want to stay true to the source, but the point of translating to another language is so people from other cultures who can't understand the original language can understand the story. It seriously just takes from enjoying the story because my head is constantly having to change the words. But, if you can persevere through that, it's a fun novel to read. <<less

It's boring. The novel is easy to read but its get repetitive that I lost interest not even half way thru.

At the beginning MC keep saying he's a talentless weak person, but from what I see in his previous life MC just has a high ego causing him to choose the wrong choice & wrong path.

The novel is a good read. The story and characters were great too, but no offense, there were so many plot holes. There are times when the story would have a large time leap and didn't explain what happened for 2 years. And it lacks backstories too. I'm also dissapointed that the novel concentrated mainly on the the main character (based on the chapters im currently binge reading) It's disheartening too when the novel didn't really describe how the characters look like. I hope that the novel will have different... more>> pov's of the mc's close friends or comrades and I hope that these characters will have more screen time. I'm honestly curious abt Number 3 too, I hope to see her more in the future chapters. <<less

This novel is incredible, I'm absolutely in love Don't be fooled by the beginning (after he leaves the academy and only fights monsters) he takes a very good path, and only gets better

Compared to generic shit, this stuff is good but not that better. The tension between the son and father and their difference of views is the only slightly interesting part

Spoiler

Father believes that a certain way of being absolute harsh and only teaching his kids the familys swprd technique is the only way to strength.

While MC met a swordmaster transcendent grandpa in his first life who said the basic swordstyles will let him become stronger so in this life he pursues that (which his father is against, therefore the running away from home part)

Paused reading here as it has gotten a tad tedious and dragged out. Might come back to finish the story but for now it's not keeping me entertained.

Excellent read this far tho.
