4.5/5 (Rounded up to 5).
I agree with most other reviews. The first 400 chapters of academy life are great. The author does a great job of making relationships between most classmates feel genuine. Personally I still really liked the latter half of the story. The huge shift in tone was really jarring, but it was still enjoyable because the author wrote pretty likable characters that you care about.

Cons : I have 2 major issues with the story.

1. The ratio of girls to guys is really awkward. There's about 10 important women, while there are about 2-3 important guys. Which naturally means most of them are into the MC. It tries to be a harem, but 90% of all romantic moments happen with 1 girl. There's almost no romance (that doesn't involve the MC) happening in a high school setting which makes it feel really unrealistic.

2. The 'cheat' system is poorly written and utilized. It's just a plot device for the author to write the MC into unwinnable situations, then suddenly the MC remembers he has a cheat power. The MC is also really dumb with the use of his powers. He starts with a weak body, demons are naturally good with mana/magic, and magic has been mentioned to be outrageously OP multiple times. So lets choose sword fighting.... like really?

Easily top 3 novels I have read. Really enjoyed the development of all the characters and the tone shift throughout the whole novel. If ya'll are worried about the MC having a weak mental, like all the other characters in this novel, he develops over time so just binge it and enjoy the process. Very character driven story, everything feels natural. Also really enjoyed the epilogues.

This novel is a complete waste of time.

Why? Because the author spends all his time building up a scenario just to difuse the scene with an eagle eye vision. Let me give an example (no spoilers) :

MC finds a friend in great jeopardy and plan to resuce the said person. MC does everything on how to tackle and what not. You read the premise of the situation. And suddenly, you see the aftermath as a third person. All this time you were reading in MC's pov, so you except the... more>> events folding as they go, however, our author just skips the actual tension and gives an eagle eye vision.

Spoiler

This can be seen in the first part of the novel where MC tries to free the demons from the Church. They skip the most important details of the church leaders reaction, MC's plan to teleport location etc.

And then there is Olivia's rescue. That was such a bummer. I dropped immediately after. How could you build up so much to not show a small pov of the opposition. It was very anticlimactic.

It felt like this was the only true happy outcome, like no adversity in the waiting.

[collapse]

Apart from that I hate the hypocrisy of the other characters. It's just not for me. <<less

Outstanding writing.

Great characters.

I was feeling happy about opening up every new chapter, and even while resting, thoughts about the story were firmly nested in my head, so I recommend it to everyone who enjoys slice of life/action series with a bit of drama.

Starts out good but falls apart nearing the end. The Author clearly has talent in writing and even has decent romance in the novel but eventually, he screws it up so bad that it's unbearable to read in the end.

Overall, the novel was a great read till chapter 600 (or till 400 depending on the person) but the ending felt rushed. I have been genuinely interested in reading a good academy-based novel, but most of them are extremely bad as the idea itself is quite overused and is nothing special.... more>> But this novel fulfilled my wish. It has hands-down the best academy arc of all novels I have ever read. So, it was quite satisfying to read in the first half. If not for academy tag, I wouldn't have read the novel since it has harem (an average one at that, not that any harem is ever any good). Give it a try to see if you like it or not. It may serve as time-pass at the very least.

Some personal issues with the novel
Spoiler

It felt that the Author deliberately ignored some important things which includes the relationships between Reinhardt and the girls. Even after completely reading the novel, I still am not sure about the feelings of Reinhardt himself about whether he loves or even likes for that matter any of the girls in the novel. It feels all the more disappointing considering that the early romance in academy was quite good. It caused an unsatisfactory and sour feeling for me after reading the end of the novel.

Another thing that genuinely annoyed me in the second half of the novel is the ridiculous amount of forced guilt that every character shows in the novel. Frankly, it felt like the novel was completely running on guilt which ruined it for me nearing the end. Not to mention the system, which still remains an enigma till the end of novel. I would have liked some explanation for the system which contributes greatly to overall world-building.

This novel is For spesific people.
    1. not overpowered MC from the start, he is weak very weak and Grow Stronger slowly.
    2. MC is Tsundere, Very Tsundere being s*upid a***ole Sometimes Even he Him self the author of his own Story.
    3. Story is Slow I mean really slow character development, MC grow Need to wait for 100 chapter.
This is not for people who like tr*sh isekai that overpowered in Chapter 1 instantly, I understand why the story was made very slow grow for the MC, I think the author really tired with OP MC novel in the internet today lol.

Ultimately, the high and lows of the novel are very extreme.
It made me feel things, but not all of them were good, and by the end it was mostly anger and sadness. I find it hard to recommend, especially if you are a heavy duty reader, however.... I will remember it and I hope with time I will remember it with good.

my rating: 2.5

Dropped at ~ch400. Good read until ch200, OK read between 200 and 300 (rough estimate).
After that it just went downhill. After ~ch300 I started skimming through more and more, until it completely stopped beeing worth reading.
Just like some other reader said, "all comedy will end in chapter 300+". All the interesting and or funny interactions between charachters will cease and the endless forced drama and selfsacrifice will begin / get much worse.

Following some minor spoilers:

Spoiler

At the same time, MCs main power, selfsuggestion, which was somewhat fine and balanced at the start, will transform into the worst possible version you can have: the stronger you BELIVE, the stronger is the power.
But obviously, this only works when you are about to lose something/someone very important or to die. Maximum cringe.
His soulbound sword is the same kind, just like his power: the more RAGE you have, the more power it will offer you. Man...
One of the FMCs, Ellen, will become worse and worse with time as well. She was fine in the beginning, but a piece of sh*t at the end of ch300 and it only gets worse from there (much worse even, thankfully I didn't read as far)

When reading this novel I couldn't help but feel déjà vu on every chapter.

If I'm being honest, it was actually quite enjoyable, as it gave a sort of twist to the whole academy~overpowered trope and is one of those rare novels that give personality to the characters. It was enjoyable seeing how each of them grows and becomes better/learn because of our main character. I don't really judge the writing style for being repetitive and a bit too descriptive (info dumps) since it makes sense due to how the author... more>> has to keep pumping chapters. But I will be criticizing what happens

first of all, like all reviews here, I don't like Elen. Not because she is a bad character no, but because of how she gets butchered later on in the story becoming something akind to toast and bread. Bland like a Chinese novel female but with actual power.

what I dislike though is some of the more... dumb parts (I won't spoil but yeah) and how disorganized the writing is, but you get the basic premise/flow.

I would give this novel a 9/10 because I am biased and did really enjoy it so ye, I recommend reading it but don't get your hopes up. <<less

It's okay.

It could have been very good, but I don't think that it's particularly well written.

The world is cool, the plot is great (although maybe a bit too slow for some), the translation is great, and I like the characters.

Maybe the author is paid by the wordcount, but the way it's written reminds me of the days back in school when you had to write an essay that was X amounts of words, but you had already written what you wanted to say and still had to fill it out.... more>> The characters will be in the middle of conversations, and after someone says something, the author will go on a rant repeating what the character just said, in slightly different words.

As an example, it will look something like this:

Spoiler

"As long as the prisoners are alive, they themselves are living proof of the Empire's betrayal. They won't try to deal with them right away. They would use them as evidence to force an apology"
'Even if they would eventually kill them, they wouldn't want to deal with the prisoners immediately. At the very least, they will keep them alive for a few days, while they had some talks with the Empire.'

[collapse]

The whole paragraph after the character's spoken says pretty much the same as the character just did. You could just remove it and leave the characters conversation and still get the same message. And this is just a small example, the novel is FILLED with stuff like this. Sometimes the author will spend like half a chapter repeating what a character's said and overexplaining it in slightly different words.

With a good editor, you could probably cut 1/3rd of all the text and not miss out on anything at all, which would also give the novel a better flow, especially the conversations that are butchered by overexplaining rants.

Interesting story, very poorly written, 2/5 from me. <<less

Mediocre

lukewarm

Is how I’d describe this novel, if you’d read better this one won’t blow you away and if you’d read the absolute worst it would not be among those. It’s just not that good or bad and just falls in this weird in between zone cause the writing and the characters are not that bad.

Just there’s no real stakes, or the feeling of an actual important plot going on and anytime it feels that something interesting is actually going to happen something exciting it’s immediately squashed by the author. It... more>> feels almost to the point that the author is scared of taking any risk with the story or characters, and it’s perfectly seen in one chapter where the main character makes a decision that would have horrible consequences and he would have to face that but it doesn’t happen cause it’s conveniently pointed out by a character and all the MC has to do is ask the character to stop it from happening and it does. It’s almost hilarious how it seems the author wants this to be as medicore and lukewarm as possible. No risk, no tension, no stakes

Theres nothing here <<less

The story are forking slow like most of the reviews said... and its driving me crazy right now...

First off...I tryna find sum novel with good plot that includes romance... and this one pique my interest since its kinda unique to me because most of the plot here are not the type of cliche that I normally see (ngl there's some) but It has a decent percentage to grew more interesting as the story went on... (this will most likely be interesting if you dont binge read 100+ chapters in a... more>> day like me lol)

Second...I have not catch up to the latest chapter of this novel yet since I currently hav lots of stuf that I should prioritize first before enjoying my free time reading em.

Lastly... what's driving me crazy as I told ya is that I WANNA SEE SUM OP MC IN ACTION AND FLUFFY ROMANCE AFTER ALL THE TROUBLES READING THE PART THAT I DONT WANNA READ AT ALL (literally the definition of cliche part lol) EVEN THO ITS DECENTLY INTERESTING

also

a little spoiler perhaps?

Spoiler

I dont know if this count as spoiler or not but from the tags given... im just going make my own assumptions that the said "love interest" is Ellen which is the hero's lil sis because in my opinion... most of the tags related to love interest kinda have sum relevance to her characteristics....I know that there's harem tags also but this is just my personal opinion as to whom MC will end up with lol... Im hoping this will atleast dry out the stress from reading a lot of thing and nothing at the same time :v

It's one of my favorite novels, and I enjoyed reading it so much that I even logged into my account to give it 5 stars. the pace is very slow, so much so that I even felt that each chapter is equivalent to 1 day in the story, but I loved that it is very detailed. in fact, I came to see an overpowered protagonist and stayed to see the protagonist's daily life getting along with his colleagues. the translation is also incredibly good, I really hope you keep translating!... more>> thank you for that!

I tried to read by MTL, but stopped at cap 350-355. I stopped because I couldn't understand anything, it's unreadable...
anyway, I'll have to wait for the translation from here to reach cap 350+ to continue reading, I really want to cry.

Pretty good. Really refreshing with a new plot premise. Quite lighthearted. Love how the reincarnated MC treats all the classmates like the kids they are, and doesn’t get overly dramatic over class issues.

There are darker things in the background. But MC is pretty good at making you enjoy the present slice of life.

Cons:

... more>> In the later chapters, the author starts dumping too many words for the same thing. Like this:

"""

"Hey, it's raining outside. Where are you going?"

I asked Allen where she was going, because it was raining outside.

"""

I think it's something webnovel writers do to increase the word count.

But the translation has been done well otherwise. <<less

Honestly amazing. Each arc in the story is very satisfying. It's also not your generic power fantasy novel. The system actually bullies the MC so he has to struggle through everything.

Basically MC is reincarnated into a novel he wrote that had a lot of loopholes. He has to somehow survive those loopholes and make it to the ending. He's supposed to know future events, but because he wrote the novel without being detailed, the system has to fill out the details for him. He even became a character that wasn't... more>> supposed to be in the novel. That character also has sh*t stats. It's super interesting.

Each side character in the novel is memorable with unique personalities. We also see their incredible growth throughout the story, both strength and personality wise. MC also goes through great character growth and he has to train a lot just to use the system 'cheat' that came with him. It's not that much of a cheat because MC has to do so much just to earn some skills.

There are some very emotional scenes that make me love the characters even more as well. This is a slice of life after all, but there's no forced drama.

Overall, I highly recommend this novel. The only nitpicky thing I have is that the author explains too much sometimes. You'd sometimes see the author repeatedly paraphrasing the same idea to explain the story which can get annoying. Overall though, amazing story and amazing characters. <<less

The beginning 25 or so chapters are used for setting up the world and characters, so they might be pretty boring. The real story starts when the MC enters the academy and met the characters of his own creation.

The protagonist is bad*ss af. Because he don't want to get bullied, he decides to act as a delinquent to deter others from approaching him. It felt rewarding for the MC is overcome his struggles and get stronger. Since he got transmigrated into a novel he has previously written, he knows all... more>> of the "plot" that's about to happen in the future. The other side characters are also created very well. They have distinct personalities, like the princess, who is very mature, yet childish, and also very intelligent, with actions to show her intelligence. The other characters also have a significant amount of screen time, which allows for them to develop. The harem in this novel is written really well, since they are all charming characters that are not one dimension and are also given time to develop.

The plot is also quite enjoyable. The MC have to overcome the challenges he set for himself because of the novels he wrote, he also strives to improve himself for the future that has yet to come.

Spoiler

Unfortunately, the author decides to write some pretty frustrating stuff in the later chapters, but at least he wrote a happy ending.

[collapse]

All in all, a pretty good read. The fight scenes in this novel are some of the most bad*ss ones I've read, and it is fun to read even the simple conversations between characters. It's good, read it. <<less

I have read many novels and without fear of being wrong I can say this is the best I have read in a long time, if not the best.

Seriously, the secondary characters are not only filler, but the main character really matters to them and makes one want to know more about their stories.

It is true that other users who are later in the story may not like where the story goes, but believe me if I tell you that if you have read the first part it is simply... more>> difficult not to follow. <<less

After being on the edge of my seat waiting for this to update day after day, I finally have to admit that this is a fantastic novel.

It's extremely slow paced and very few things seem to be happening sometimes, but from where I stand it seems to be setting the stage for something really interesting to come.

I sincerely cannot wait for what happens next.

Also, to make this a real review, I'll say some of the thinks I like about this!

Spoiler

1. The MC doesn't see the 14yo female characters as love interests! Some of them, Harriet, obviously have crushes on him, but the only character he's even veiwed in that light so far was an adult woman. It may be because this is Korean and not japanese, but it's an isekai without pe*ophilia! Amazing.

2. Though the character is unreasonably immature and hotheaded, that is just a possitive for the story. If he was a perfectly sane and reasonable person this school life stuff wouldn't be nearly as fun. It's nice that the author managed to keep the outcast element with the story dispite the MC turning into a human being. I just wish that Mr. Author had been a bit more consistent from the start with the MCs personality.

3. The main characters aren't unreasonably overpowered. I mean, they're still kids. Sometimes you start reading these isekai stories and the MC is just broken beyond belief. Nowhere to grow. Nothing to learn. Surrounded by the most "amazing special strongest" kids in the universe. I can't stand that nonsense! If you give us a world where people can be that strong, then it's really just a façade of an excuse to write about children when it's the kids running the show. This is the opposite of that. They're still growing, as they should be.

4. It's litterly just an author's dream come true, but it's not sunshine and rainbows. If you've ever written a story you've probably wantes to get s**ked in to experiance your own world first hand. That sort of fantastical idea escapism is a really easy trap to fall in when writing a story about that very concept. However, because the setting dictates that the MC is actively being punished, the story is about to circumnavigate that pitfall.

[collapse]

Anyway, it's fun and you should read it. <<less

This is such a good novel that has a setting after the death of the demon king.

Plot: It's a slice of life majority of what I've read, and since this has a fantasy setting, there's going to be a lot of troubles. The troubles the MC has to face are what happens in the background (e.g.
Spoiler

) In the romance aspect, there isn't much yet since it has only started and I appreciate that.

Characters: The characters have their own quirks which makes their interactions really amusing. Particularly our MC, he is an adult but can be immature, his personality is built on being a bully (strong to the weak, weak to the strong) but can be actually be patient and resourceful, sometimes. The side characters also have depth to their characters, even those lackeys that are common, have multiple appearances throughout the novel and I hope to see some of their growth.

Writing: The writing is easygoing and it doesn't show much redundancies. The execution of dialogues is very nice because information can be easily understood as well as the jokes.

Translation: They're fast so that's good but they have some typos here and there but it can make sense once you reread a sentence
