There's something that left me a bit speechless, though. At one point a social-climbing secretary shows up and she seems like a little beauty, but of course, incomparable to the FL. That's not a problem per se, but the disgust the ML feels isn't directed at her behavior, but at her physical appearance. He compares her to the FL, but the FL is artificially enhanced by the system. So to say... Her beauty is impossible by human standards.

This isn't really a critique as I actually found it hilarious because it conforms to the ML's "pickiness", but it left me thinking that were it not for the system's enhancement, the FL's personality would simply never be enough to win the ML's heart. I don't think the author intended that at all, but it feels like the system is simply a tool to build the perfect match for the ML, and that kind of shoots a hole in their ship.

The hole is not enough to sink it, though.

Her husband-to-be has issues and hang-ups wanting a perfect woman that simply does not exists and she has a System that builds her up into that kind of unrealistic woman. Directing her behaviour and modifying her body so that she can develop relationship with the ML and live. Literally, because if she doesn't get from him enough money and gifts to fill out her health bar, she will die.

So she is very motivated to 'perfect' herself for him while he is getting a human doll for whom he is a literal lifeline.

was that he literally picked her friends for her? The novel made it seem like it was cute and that he really cared but that was over the top for me, it made me feel like he was her father not her fiance, he screened them and made sure they were good for her and all that and all the while I was like remember this is her fiance he's her fiance he's her fiance.

Ch 30, Li Chengzhen becomes MC's god father.

Ch 51, Chen Kexin asked her where did she get the Holy Water, and MC helped her to get more, and she got a company to make beauty vials using Holy Water recipe.

Ch 60, Grandma Chen becomes MC's god grandmother. Also Chen Kexin: Granma, lol u forgot your real grand daughter? Orz

Ch 79, MC and ML married, MC has no one to send her to the stage since her real parents didn't come (both MC and ML didn't invite them), so Li Chenzheng helps her as her father. MC is really honored that she actually has many rich girl friends, not fake ones, although they're a bit s*upid. At first she thought she would need to rent friends lol. MC got sent gifts by her rich girl friends, Li Yiru who used to hate her send her bracelet, Chen Kexin gifts her stuff she bought with Granma Chen, Zhuo Mi, 2333 and 555 also gifts her. It's a touching chapter.

Ch 88 MC mom and Huo Wencheng asked MC to temporarily divorced for Gu Wenshuang's health - what nonsense! MC told her mom, what filial piety, she never regards Gu Mom and Gu Dad as parents. Gu Mom soon realized that she has missed a lot of things to do with her real daughter and instead has been pampering their fake daughter.

These are some of the stuff that the system gives her....

a drunk halo (don’t remember the name) - when the system detects the FL drinking alcohol, it gives the perfect affects to the person. Rosy cheeks, misty eyes... basically makes her very edible <cough>

newly web wife halo - makes her extremely edible. System suggest not to use too much or may be a problem for the FL <cough>

It seems the system not only gives her life but it really works to make her the perfect wife.

It also has additional “skills” to increase the FL artistic abilities to smash past her Master class to Grandmaster. The FL uses this to help her break through to a higher level.

Now to unlock them, you have to read. The system does work on the dog feeding thought process.

• Fake sister - this person is just too greedy. As long as you put greed as her main motivation, you can see her doing all the things in the novel.
• FL mother - does not think so she only has eyes on the white wolf daughter (can understand since she took care of the sick daughter all throughout.) She may be the worse off since she truly loved the fake and put all her heart in keeping her alive. This could have closed off what she should have done.
• FL dad - just another me me type. He doesn’t consider others as long as it benefits him.
• ML mother and grandmother - they just lost their minds. Not bad but..... really blaming other so they don’t have to think about it.

As far as I can understand MTL, the father died of an accident. The grandfather died of a broken heart when the father died. So how could this be caused by the son???!?

The mother and grandmother just blames him so they don’t have to face the reality. Really weak in too many ways.

The MC seems to be stuck with a system whose only job is to be pleasing the ML. Unlike a certain review that gave me the impression that the MC was given everything in a silver plate and was hella OP with skills left and right. The MC has a system that makes her do things in order to live. And she is not ungrateful of the ML as she does even if selfish reasons still thinks of the ML's death which will be 2 years from when they met. The ML is not even evil like most CN where the ML get revenge by plotting for the cannon fodder or villain be r*ped for whatever they did to the MC. The MC forgives people who are genuinely sorry for their actions and even gives people the chance to repent. Unlike some CN you have an MC who never gives an ounce of thought that people can change.

MC also seems to fall for the ML early on, and most of the task after the marriage cannot be fulfilled if love or affection is not in the equation. The MC's only ability is to paint and she already has years of training and was close to being good but with the system she could improve. From what I understood from the MLT, even without the systems help she was able to recreate the same feelings into her art.

Not to mention the fact the most of the tasks that needed to be fulfilled were either inevitable or just certain incidents happened to have allowed it to be fulfilled. Eg. When she got the task to get married, the ML was already planning to ask her before the task was issued.
