Ji Qingzhou crossed into a book of dogblood scum and abuse. There were two choices in front of him.

A: Choose the genuine slag Gong in the original book, and start a sadistic and abusive romance with Fang Yaoxuan filled with domestic abuse, a dead mom, and leaving the entertainment circle.

B: Choose the cannon fodder Villain, Chu Cheng, and be free of the slag Gong forever.

Ji Qingzhou wordlessly chose B without a second thought.

Chu Cheng was of distinguished birth and became the head of a popular company at a comparatively young age. He had seen many beauties in the entertainment circle but just happened to be fond of Ji Qingzhou.

A friend asked him, “Do you like this little star?”

Chu Cheng shook his head. “No, just playing with him.”

Outside the door, Ji Qingzhou nodded. Yes, that was what the book said.

A few months later, Ji Qingzhou was walking away while answering the phone, when he overheard someone saying, “Ji Qingzhou? Oh, Chu Cheng is just playing with him. Once he’s played enough, they’ll split.”

Ji Qingzhou was just about to nod, but then he heard Chu Cheng’s furious reply: “Nonsense! Which bastard told you that! Doesn’t he know that those who disturb a marriage will be kicked by a horse!”

Ji Qingzhou: ??? Wait, no, this is not what the book said!

Can't really make the best judgement on the story yet but I really can't stand the translation it's so bad. The last straw was when I read this: "Are you s*upid ?! The country's resources don't cost money! The actor's body, is it not a body? At this time, the water is not closed. Are you f*cking going to raise a fish? " I understand that Chinese very often does not translate well to English, but the English is almost incomprehensible in this paragraph. Lack of context aside, there are spaces... more>> where there shouldn't be, and the wording is so headache inducing like "water is not closed". Makes sense in Chinese but is absolutely broken English.

I suppose this is a bit nit-picky of me but the broken English is consistent throughout the entire novel. I've read MTL that's on the same level as this. <<less

Ok so this novel is a solid 3/5.

Not the best, but not the worst. Light read with minimal drama and suffering.

Not sure if I'll continue reading it till the end because at this point everything is more or less resolved in the story.

By chapter 115:
Spoiler
    • Slag gong has been defeated and his family dragged him away from the acting scene. Forever.
    • The other antagonist isn't a threat. Honestly he never was.
    • MC and ML get together in an actual relationship and not in a prostitution (or sugar baby
      ?) contract.
    • MC achieved all that he wanted at this point. Fans, fame, money, friends, his lover, his mom not dying
      Everything's good.
      [collapse]
About the Main characters:

MC is just a normal guy. He has his funny moments and is rational. He's also very quick to move on from things, which helped him adapt to his new life.

ML is easygoing and level headed. He's also the reason why the novel has 'slow romance' tag lmfao. The man NEVER forces MC into doing anything he doesn't want, and has a good amount of respect for him.

If you couldn't tell already, they lack a lot of the usual stereotypical BL traits. (Which explains why the tags section is so empty lmfao)

Plot:

Entertaining but not interesting or exciting. It was only ever interesting when the characters interacted with each other.

The whole showbiz thing was boring and I skipped through most of it. It always has the same outcome of MC prevailing easily because of the ML's influence.

The author also mentioned not wanting to make them suffer too much. But I think it just made the story lackluster as hell.

Some other complaints I had with this story:

    • ML is too powerful in this book. Everyone (except for the antagonists) bends over to please him. So he makes all the MC's problems disappear with 0 trouble.
      Spoiler

After MC stabs the slag gong in the stomach after he tried to r*pe him, the ML called the slag gongs dad and the problem was resolved within the day

MC expected a hard won trial and I expected the trial or a tension filled arc where he's forced to take care of the slag gong, lest he ruin his reputation by announcing that he stabbed him unprovoked

. Yeah. I was thoroughly disappointed.

      [collapse]

Which makes the book boring as hell because there are 0 threats and 0 excitement. There is no sense of accomplishment because it's obvious that the ML will hand over the solution to the MC in a silver platter.
    • The ML's romantic dense arc went on for too long.
      Spoiler

He wanted to be treated like a lover but didn't want to be his lover. It was really s*upid and irrational. It was borderline OOC with what was established in his personality. Where did his rational and logical thinking go????? What kind of idiot tells his sugar baby to stop being so loving and personal then complains about him not being loving and personal anymore????? 0 self awareness.

      [collapse]
Thankfully his friends slapped some sense into him.
    • The antagonists were boring. The slag gong had some serious potential to be more than just a slag gong villain.
      Spoiler

When he admitted that he had put some serious thought into what the MC said about the other antagonist (Slag gong being used and
emotionally manipulated into giving the other antagonist resources, money, support etc) I had hopes that he'd redeem himself and have an epic scene where he accuses the other antagonist of treating him like a bank account and severing ties with him. In the end he did none of that and almost became a rapist. :/

      [collapse]
The other antagonist was just there to give the reader a target to ridicule while praising the MC for not being like him.

MC and ML actually have a pretty good relationship, if not only for the fact the the original owner of the body is b*tchy. I see that even though ML has a higher status, MC can still stand on equal footing because he is surprisingly smart and witty!

No dog blood, though it may seem like that but the comedic tone of the novel tones it down. ML and MC are feeding dog food non-stop. Their interaction is so cute that I can’t get enough of it.

ML is actually a good... more>> guy though it seems that he is lustful he can still think rationally. He doesn’t force MC and just let MC take the initiative. For me, ML is actually the most ideal male lead out of all the countless novel I’ve read. He is not the usual two-dimensional character. He can be unruly at times but still have respect.

The author is very eloquent with their words that I am shocked, because like we know that translating somehow changes the mood of the novel from the original (chinese version) but it is still a high quality that I have to commend the translators. Unfortunately, I can’t read chinese characters nor do I understand.

I didn’t continue reading after MC and ML got together. I just think that after that it became plain, but don’t worry because there’s really nothing wrong with the novel itself, but I just don’t really like celebrity novels like this one. It is just so cliché that there will be canon fodders after canon fodder that will ruin my mood. Anyways, it is expected that they’ll get married, anyway. <<less

Was very hesitant to start this at first, and the reviews on it aren’t the kindest. BUT, it ended up being a good experience~ I didn’t read it all the way, so I can’t say much about the latter arcs. But what I did read was pretty good!

CHARACTERS: 4.5/5

Although there are times when the characters are a bit melodramatic, the author paid very close attention to things like character motivation, giving them more depth and complexity!

... more>> Ji Qingzhou (MC) :

A transmigrator that ended up taking on the role of a young actor from a book he just read. In the original novel, said young actor has been involved with another actor that treated him as a body double for his white moonlight. In the end, the original enters an abusive relationship with this other actor, and the MC absolutely refuses to be involved with that. As such, he chooses to go along with the canon fodder villain character whose interested in his body instead. 😂 Sounds bad, but the ML is actually quite respectful.

  • Minor Spoilers:
    Spoiler

Character wise, he’s got a very solid base. I can’t place him in just one setting because he’s very complex! He’s young, he acts well, and because his parents divorced when he was young, his thoughts on love are more complex than most.

    [collapse]
Chu Cheng (ML) :

The cannon fodder villain of the original novel! He had a contract with the original!MC (he pays for the hospital bills of the MC’s mom in exchange for the MC’s body) but was forced to step out because the original!MC cheated on him with the original!ML. In this version, the MC chooses him and they continue their contract agreement!

  • Minor Spoilers:
    Spoiler

The ML is a businessman with a strong family background. He was interested in the MC because of his face and body, and quite straightforwardly offered up money in exchange. He enters the relationship ship with the idea that he’s a “golden backer” in mind and gets stuck on that mindset even as he becomes more and more fond of the MC.

    [collapse]
ROMANCE: 5/5

Although some people may dislike the romance, I found myself liking it a lot. The two start off with a contract hanging over their heads, making things between them a bit ambiguous. Things get a little complicated when feelings start to get involved, especially since both the MC and ML still strictly abide by the rules of the contract. As a result, it’s a romance that’s touched by bitterness throughout. BUT! The hints of bitterness just added flavor to the romance, is you ask me. So I’m quite the fan. Of course, I didn’t read till the end, so maybe it starts to sour after they settle down a bit??? Not sure!

SETTING: 4/5

Although the setting is not the focus of the novel; the author didn’t completely abandon it! This is an Entertainment Circle novel, so theres’s the familiar face-slapping “working your way to the top” kind of feel hehe, which is quite fun.

PLOT: 4/5

A bit dramatic at times, as I said, but the premise is quite fun! The romance is the main focus, but there’s also the underlying tension with the Original!ML and his White Moonlight.

RATING: 4/5

Although I can’t say that it’s a fave for me, I quite enjoyed what I read. There was laughter and tears, what more do you need??? The story was a little hard to get into at first, not sure if that’s the translation or just the banter between the main CP (which included a lot of slang), but once I got into it, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the complex characters and the drama between these two lil idiots. Overall, I thought it was both sweet and angsty! And I recommend it if you’re looking for something drama related~

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

  • Personal Enjoyment: Pretty high! I’d say, 4.5/5?? The beginning was rough, as mentioned, but once I got used to the banter and the jarring opening, I was set!
  • Literary Level: A bit complex to translate, I imagine. There are definitely flaws in execution of plot too, but nothing comes to mind right now. So I’ll give it 4/5!
  • Angst Level: The contractual relationship is a pretty big downer, but the author interspersed the angst with buckets of sweetness, so while there were definitely tears, I can’t say that it’s super angsty. So 3/5?
  • Heat Level: All the smut is censored! Only kissing and light petting is shown, but even then, it’s quite pure. So, 1/5 at most!

Story is meh, little too long, fluffy with a tiny angst. Probably won't read again.

both MC and ML were not bad. Probably this authors first work that I have read were I liked the MC more than the ML. I mean how dense can you be ML. Some of the character traits of ML and MC seemed to completely change after the confession but not because they grew but because the author forced it.

Honestly I can't remember any great parts of the story or any absolutely horrible parts.

The one part... more>> I thought was just cringey was

Spoiler

the marriage proposal. All the random gay couples the MC meets along the way and he doesn't think it's odd the ML says he set it up... so was it all actors or did he drag a bunch of gay couples and random kids to be a part of it. I really did not like the marriage proposal

[collapse]

Translation was good but slow so I did MTL until the end of the main couple, I haven't read the side pairings extras yet, will probably wait until they are translated. <<less

Maybe because I've read Transmigrated Into The Film Emperor's Death-seeking Fiance before this that I feel this way but it definitely affected my review.

The ML and MC have power imbalance and their relationship isn't really equal from the start, which ofc is unfair to MC. Because he already have debt and was even remembered to have cheated on ML even tho its the original JQZ who did it. I feel like this will affect their future relationship because currently MC already feels that he's very lucky just because his golden... more>> backer (sugar daddy), which he didn't want or need if not for the previous owner of the body, is willing to wait for him to be prepared to have s*x with him and also willing to spend time and money for him. But ofc because of previous owner's deeds, their interaction include ML doubting if he's cheating, regards him as someone fickle, and MC just tolerating it because he feels responsible for previous owner's deeds. ML also very clearly stated that MC is just a kept pet to his friends and they are not inlove, he just want to spoil him. But I wonder what would happen once he finally realize his feelings lol. I am actually waiting for it as I want their rl to be equal and I also want the ML to suffer a bit. He's too lucky, but his ignorance on the matter really bothers me. He keep on reminding MC abt the past he is not really responsible for.

Also, they really have a lot of similarities with TITFEDSF. Just that, Yan Qingchi and Jiang Mochen have a much equal relationship. I also love their dynamic lol. I recommend it. Like it more than this. Tho, I haven't finish this novel so maybe it would get better.

Update:

Holycow ML was just so annoying. His jealousy is adorable? Lol. He keeps misinterpreting MC actions because of his own feelings and he can only see mc's past cheating issue. Even a small action with mc's co-actor will be a big deal. He thinks MC would flirt with anyone just to get benefits. NO RESPECT AT ALL.

MC is also too obedient?? Like wtf man, aren't annoyed when someone keeps accusing you of cheating? He just laughs it off and doesn't really complains. <<less

This novel is definitely 10/10 if I consciously ignore the things that made me uncomfortable, since I didn't find any better alternative solution, I let it be and gave 5/5

Good points about this novel:

# This novel really developed the relationship between ML and MC slowly and with certainty. There were no abnormal catalysts, just the appearance of OG ML time and time annoyed me a lot

# The contract didn't affect the good relationship, and this was definitely one of those novels where MC and ML had a very good communicative... more>> relationship

# ML is a saint, hands down. MC was absolutely taken by the MC and wanted to take the last step, but ML thought it would be unfair to the MC. This pure relationship made me want to climb a wall quite a few times in exasperation, however, the end result is the best.

# All the side couples got a closure. I would have loved more stories about Anyi and Lian, but sadly this is BL.

# OMG the dragon and apricot tree story!!! Heartwarming to the moon and back.

Bad points of this novel:

# The sadistic relationship between OG ML and MC (many will say- serves them right, but I don't know, it's still uncomfortable. I am not always the schadenfreude guy out there)

# The Tang Yu- Ying Nian situation. I wanted someone to beat Tang Yu up and give him more IQ (I contradict myself what I just said in the last point -_-)

I am really in love with this novel as a stand alone, so I need someone to clear up my confusion (those who MTLed like me and completed the novel)

Spoiler

We all know MC's mom is hospitalized and for the money for her treatment, MC makes the deal with ML. So here's the question. MC has 2 other brothers in 2 different books as it shows in the latter half of the novel. How come they didn't help out? Or is it me who's reading it wrong?

I do really enjoyed it, in fact I even teared up once hahaha but I can't just ignore a lot of boring stuffs that keeps me from reading this continuously. I feel like the author tends to highlights boring scenes rather than the interesting and must scenes ones (like meeting CC's parents)

I can't word it out well but there's really a lot of boring things. I do really love our couple's relationship tho cuz RESPECT and CONSENT is really sexy lol. I even love the side couples too but... more>> puting their story as an extra is a meh, I think it's better to be mixed in the main story even if not too detailed as it gets boring to read the extras which is a lot :v

Poor Chu Xin tho, still a single dog until the end <<less

First chapter started out with a blinking white guy meme-worthy scene that had me, like the MC, thinking "what the f*ck did I just walk into". Honestly the entire first few chapters just had me going ???, and it doesn't help that the TL is very iffy and ocassionally just completely not understandable (like '"It's okay." Ji Qingzhou road.') I got somewhat used to the TL and managed to enjoy myself somewhat by c30~40, but the confusion really doesn't get better. It feels like for all the major events, it's... more>> just MC being victimized and then saved by the people around him, while he's just confused and overwhelmed. I came here because I thought the summary would be fun, but instead it feels like I started watching a tv drama in the middle of the climactic episode and things are happening all at once while I'm just overwhelmed and confused. The entertainment world here is so f*cking stressful and the dog blood isn't satisfying at all because it's usually done by other people while MC just stares and goes "uh ok, so that happened".

That said, when things get good, it actually gets really good. Despite being so "this is cute, but meh" about the main CP for most of the contract period, I actually shed genuine tears when they broke up, and then shed more tears when they got back together. I think it's a mark of a really good author when the emotions of a scene can transcend things like iffy translating to still make me feel SO. MANY. GODDAMN EMOTIONS!!! I went from not caring about the MC and ML to thinking of them as my son and son-in-law and imagining myself as the emotional mother watching over their love life's ups and downs. And that was at c114, still far from the end of the novel. <<less

Hmmm so I've only read until chapter 8, but the story so far seems bland to me. I'm not intrigued and I can't feel attachment to the characters. And I really hate to feel that the main characters are ridiculous... Also the translation wasn't the best, so maybe that didn't convey the story well. All in all, I didn't like it and unfortunately I think I'm dropping this. I couldn't feel connected to the characters (I don't mean this as in I can't relate to them, of course not, I... more>> don't know how to put this, but I need deep? real? characters that I'd love and care about. I still like them, but not that much, again, no connection, if that makes sense lol), I think this is the main reason I can't continue it.

I accidentally gave it 3 lol, well I think I'm not in place to rate it since I'm not even halfway through? <<less

So far from what I've read....

    • The MC is someone who seems passive at first, but as you continue to read, you start to understand that the MC is someone who wants to take ownership of their problems. They are not going to the ML for every little problem they have. The MC may seem weak to people who don't understand character development, but as the story goes on, you can see how decisive and rational he is.
    • The ML is like one of those CEO businessman, but he is not stoic and not sadistic. He wants to help the MC in ways that he can and respects the Mc's choices and decisions.
    • Slow romance, gradual which I think is nice for this type of story. It makes sense to go slow because this is both of their first relationship. They haven't even had s*x yet (at least I don't think so ---last read chp 110).
    • It can definitely bring out different emotions in the reader. From anger to sadness, it's very compelling.
I decided to rate this book a 4 star because it was a very nice story, but I may just have made me a bit too sad. And I shouldn't give 5 stars too easily.

I really like it. Many dog food and of course a little angst also involve. I mtled all the chapters. Side couples are also cute and interesting. ****You should read carefully to the side couples. Really worth it. Actually I prefer Y&Y side couple than the main couple. I really cry when I read about them. I really pity Yuan Nian (not sure about his name.I forgot) I really thanks for his bf to save him (YN) from his scum ex bf.

The facts I don't like about this novel are... more>> I want ML to be 100%perfect cause I am mother of ukes. I don't like ML who make my ukes suffer. Not even a little. But ML is not really a scum. He is a little dumb.

And I want more scenes of face slapping to original ML and his moonlight. There is only a little scenes about them😢. I want to see how these two suffer more.

For these reasons, I want to give only 3 stars first. But for the side story of my couples, I will give 4 stars. <<less

I don't know how to say this... But if you have read better entertainment / ceo novels, this may feel just a little lacking and dry. If this is your first one, it's fine I guess. It's a bit dry imo. Nothing amazing. But nothing terrible. Just slightly boring.

Also I'm not really the type to like constantly calling someone who wants to f*ck u father... Lol just uh not my type of lover's talk. It just is used very often here.

Good book.. But slow romance.. Like ant crawling slow. They obviously like each other very very early on but will take a very very very long time to get to a point where they admit it. Worst is that in the middle there is not development just the same.. Do your job as a kept man. Why are you not being more romantic towards me? You are stepping out of line and being too romantic, you are just a kept man. Etc etc for many many chapters. I really wish... more>> they cut that middle part where there is little to no develop into like 10-20 chapters instead of most of the book. I had to stop reading cause I was so frustrated and bored. <<less

Super cute so far! I read some reviews complaining about both MC and ML, but I'm confused because I love both?? Their interactions are soo cute and funny, although translation is honestly iffy sometimes (but it's not terrible to the point of unbearable EDIT: Translations are pretty great! It just feels a lil awkward sometimes in the beginning because some of meaning doesn't come through after language conversion). MC is a shy pure boi who has suffered, and ML might be a bit possessive but he just wants to spoil... more>> MC. ML is the nicest and most lenient backer I've ever read about; he gave money to sleep w MC, but on account of MC's embarrassment he is okay with going slowly step by step even after getting a green hat over his head. Not forceful at all even though he totally has the right to!

People are complaining about MC acting like a pushover, but I think he's actually very commendable. He knows his limits and is willing to swallow bitterness, and solve his problems on his own ability. Acting rash or protesting in a situation when he has literally no power in a circle like that would just backfire and make the problems much worse. It's also his very first time shooting! It's a story with face slapping but let's be a bit more realistic alright. I personally like to see this type of gentle yet firm character and I like to see characters struggle and grow.

And yes MC is catering to ML right now. He's a contracted lover!!! He's already considered quite lenient. And even though I say catering, it's not like he's unwillingly or being forced to wait on him hand and foot. One of the best things about this ML is that even though he totally has a right to, he doesn't force MC at all.

My only thing is that I wish the OG novel was a bii~t more likeable. It feels like author tr*shed it too hard to pave the way for this story to be smooth. I wish Fang scum had a bit more character development, but it's still early so maybe he will?

The translations are pretty great, thanks to the translating team's hard work! This is a light and easy to read novel that makes you happy whenever new chapters come out, hehe~ <<less

I rated this 4/5 (the rating kinda f**ked up a lil bit when I tap it) because by the end my interest in this novel sort of dropped a bit.

I will say this one: it's an interesting novel for sure. For those whose bored of Yandere ML, this is for you.

The MC is quite independent. He understands the underlying rules that's in the industry when you don't have strong enough backer. The ML as his backer is sort of doesn't care about MC much that he doesn't really looking out... more>> to MC 24/7 (understandable as they're just in contractual relationship and doesn't care about each other much). Later on, the MC got quite dependent on ML because he's the first person he met in this world when he arrive, and because of their situation in their contract. However when he realized that his feelings gonna go out of the term in contract,

and the ML reject him

, he started to distancing himself from ML.

Later on, he got so independent it's so amazing. It's also quite touching.
Spoiler

Protagonist (Fang Yaoxuan) tried to r*pe him in his room while they're filming the same movie, right after MC broke up with ML, and because the difference in strength is a lot, MC couldn't do much about it. So left with no choice, he stab Fang Yao using a hand knife in his stomach and then went to his agent room to call an ambulance. He was so ready to go to the jail because of that as he doesn't have backer at that time and Fang can pressure him even if the fact is the other way around. He told everyone he knew to not tell Chu Cheng (ML) about it as he's ready to bear the responsibility of his actions. However ML got the wind of it and decided to help him because he himself wasn't ready to see MC went too far away from himself. It's really touching as you can see it like a child who broke up from their parents, tried their best to be strong and be responsible for whatever they did, and finally found a strong anchor in the middle of it all.

Later on their relationship progress, but as it reached chapters 150 up, I felt quite bored so I just really wanted it to be done soon.

So 4/5 for me. <<less

My verdict: The perfect fluffy, light-hearted novel for your reading pleasure. Bonus! Includes the healthiest relationship of all healthy relationships.

Rating? 4.7-5.0/5.0

The MC, for one, is very likeable. He can make decisions, and act accordingly. He's not one of those dumb, weak, naive MCs who can't do shit. Nor is he super scheming and acting. The MC is like your average college street-smart graduate, except for the fact that he's a little more talented and smarter than most. He is level-headed, and honestly, for once, actually completely tells the fake ML... more>> and his white lotus to f*ck off, and exposes the white lotus, too. He's not afraid to speak his mind and doesn't keep it all bottled up inside, like some MCs. I had absolutely no problems with the way the author characterized him--never was there a moment where I frowned at something he did.

The ML, too, is very very good. He's got some nice facets to his personality and is very doting even before they get together. He's very well off, and has his own income, but like a tamed version of the overbearing CEO. You never really get that 'overlord' vibe from him. He's also not an iceberg. Although he starts off condescending, it's only for a very very brief moment (due to the former-cheap-shou-MC's actions). Otherwise, even before he comes to like the MC, he is very respectful. He's not yandere, or obsessive at all (sorry to all of you expecting that), although he does get jealous when MC is with other people he views as possible love interests.

The story is sort of your standard, but very well done. There are no plot holes, or excessive dog blood drama (although there is a bit of angst before the ML fully comes to terms with his feelings). It's overall very loving, and a good fluffy read. The author, too, is a good writer. She fleshes out the characters out pretty well, even some of the side characters, later on, and honestly, the only true villains are the fake ML and his white lotus. Everyone else is generally supportive, over time, and the ML's friends are a nice bunch. The banter between the ML and MC too, is actually quite hilarious sometimes. Between other characters, too, I had several good laughs.

The plot isn't that complicated. In its essence, this is a good standard read. Nothing too new, nothing out of the blue, but it's a very well done version of a common sort of storyline. It doesn't require extreme investment, either.

Also, you know those novels, where the side characters have their own interesting stories going on, but the author never elaborates? And you just really want to know their development too? WELL FEAR NOT. The author has EXTENDED extras at the end for both the Tang Yu/Ying Nian storyline and the Lian Jingxing/An Yi (or sth) storyline, and it did not leave me disappointed.

The ending for the fake ML and his white lotus is satisfying, too. In the end, the white lotus becomes the substitute in the Fang Xuan's heart. The positions had officially become reversed, and the white lotus realizes he really should stop playing people. He gets his just desserts. To think even in this new world, he was still planning to force MC's 'mom' to su*cide. Smh buddy, smh.

If there are two tiny problems, then:

  1. I wish I could've read more Luo Yuxin/Fang Xuanxuan (fake ML and white lotus) abuse. Man, their story could be a whole-ass abuse dog-drama with Bad Ending and I'd read it. Was sorta wishing I could've read more because the tables turned. FXX threw away his doggo-for-white-lotus persona and became cruel and overbearing, after being made aware of how much LY scammed him, and LY became 'obedient' and forced to act as a lover so that he can get resources again. Of course, FXX never gonna let him. Ugh, we barely got half a chapter on that. I WANTED MOAR.
  2. I only really grew really interested in some of the side characters after reading their specific extras. I wish I'd read the extras first so I'd have appreciated them more in the main story. Honestly, because the side-character ML Yao something was honestly just so kind and gentle and just such a good friend overall. Lian Jingxing, too, I didn't know he was such a charming character. He was like a very cute black-bellied-but-not-yandere ML with An Yi. Shame...
NOTE: THIS NOVEL IS VERY EASY TO MTL. I MTL'ed basically the whole thing. <<less

This novel is really good so far even if I have only read up to chapter 7. It's full of misunderstandings because if where in the novel's timeline the MC was transmigrated in. It's really sweet so far and the MC is so naive. He's not a protagonist with a lot of skills, he just stumbles his way through the plot.

Just made this review as a note for my current reading progress (since I tend to forget books that I still haven't finished when I jumped to another one lol).

I'm still on chapters wherein both MC and ML isn't still clear of their feelings and still making ways to deny that their actually DEVELOPING feelings for each other. OwO

I'm not still clear of the name of the scum guy who caused the Ji QingZhou of the book to die and his mother to ccommit sui-----cide, but on what I was... more>> reading he was called Fang YiXuan/YuXuan. <<less
