[The gong (seme) and shou (uke) have no blood relation, are also not in the same household register, do not share a father nor a mother, this is a serious declaration.] ~~~

In this life, Shu Ning was a joke, even to his death. Treated as a stepping stone by his biological mother, opening a path for his younger brother, only to realize all this when dying.

Shu Ning, who was thirsty for maternal love, was extremely hardworking, acting as a well-behaved child in front of his father, while fighting with his elder brother, although his IQ was not high, he still played dirty tricks to the utmost. Constantly being encouraged by his mother’s warm feelings, the more he obstructed his elder brother, the braver he got. When he met with a mishap, his mother took his younger brother and escaped to a faraway place, leaving Shu Ning alone to bear the crime and get thrown into jail.

Love is more solid than gold, his lover decided to embrace another man.

Attaching great importance to friendship, not only did they take the time to visit Shu Ning in jail and laugh at him, they even rubbed salt in the wound.

His most loved and respected mother did not even bother to show her face.

However, when he closed his eyes, his elder brother came. Truth was, it was Shu Heng who had arranged for him to be able to live comfortably in prison.

If he hadn’t followed them and was a clever little brother, would it all have changed? In the blink of an eye, Shu Ning returned to the time where he was a junior high school student.

Two-faced, controlling elder brother gong X Clever and cute little wolf shou.

Elder brother thinks that younger brother is very cute, very adorable, very soft, how could he be this close to the ideal?

The younger brother is thinking, hahaha… that elder brother with facial nerve paralysis could blush? What happened to your cold and handsome image? Becoming foolish with just one kiss? What happened to your mysophobia? I’m just sitting in your lap and your whole body stiffened up? ╮(╯▽╰)╭

To prevent his elder brother from thinking that Shu Ning was after the company, Shu Ning relied on memories from his previous life to earn a bit of money, becoming financially independent while being a silkpants, also slowly raising that soft and immature elder brother, Shu Ning felt that these days were just too comfortable. However… why is his elder brother becoming more and more strange? What is this sleeping together for warmth? What is this good morning and good night kiss? Do you really take me for a brat? Σ( ° △ °|||)

Note: The ‘Silkpants’ part means mean a rich and hedonistic son.

First of all, I don't hate this story. If I'd stopped around chapter 50/60 when it started to bother me, I'd probably give it a 4 start, not five because both the main characters are pervs. The MC is a thirty year old perving on an eighteen year old, while the ML is an eighteen year old perving on a thirteen year old kid (while his body looks younger due to lack of nutrition growing up.) About half the book has the MC at 13, and their relationship starts changing... more>> there.

Now, I know people aren't inherently good. If you have bad things done to you, who wouldn't think of getting back? But even disliking a baby? Before it's born? Really?

The mc's little brother was raised by the mom to take over the family, after she took care of her husband's first son. this kid did everything for his mom, but he loved them both, it wasn't until his death that he learns everything. Then he's reborn, and he turns into this cruel, ruthless person.

I don't hate that sort of thing, some people do deserve it, but somehow, all the women in this that showed up for any length of time ended up being evil, but they have their problems, too, so I was more sympathetic of them than anything. They were products of circumstances, I would have rather had them repent and change their lives then ignore them, if they don't change, it's their problem. I also don't hate the whole heartless thing, but... a child?

Because of the way his younger brother was raised, he grew spoiled. so in his new life, he doesn't even like the baby, and keeps seeing him as evil before he's even born. At some point, when his mom is pregnant, he even thinks of ending this child's life, but thinks it'll be more fun to see him grow up and drop him down like everyone else.

Wouldn't it have been better to be involved in the child's raising, so he might actually turn into a good kid? And then going and causing trouble for people that hurt him before, if he knew their characters, he could let them destroy their own lives. They could ruin their own lives, helping them along just made him the bully here, and I dislike it, just because you were bullied you start bullying others, even if it's people who hurt you, for a lot of the characters, it hadn't happened in the new life. Woe is me, I've been wronged in my past life, so I'll wrong them twice as much in this life, also because he's a gay bottom, he has to be taken care of?

I also don't mind scheming, but the emotions the MC displays bother me a lot. it's not your obligation or anything, but instead of going around ruining other people's lives, why not try to make people's lives better, huh? Or instead of soiling yourself turning into a bully, ignore them? I'm not a saint or anything, but I really wouldn't like myself if I turned into someone like this. I have faults, and understand people have faults. Some people can't be saved, but at least children are worth saving, dammit. I'm a second born out of 5 kids, and I love my little siblings, if they could be saved from being douchebags, I would do it for them. It's not like I'm all righteous, either, but I really think this MC looks at himself that way.

This kid already got lucky, considering his background, but he wants a big house, several sports cars, a nice life. I don't mind this, I wouldn't chose differently. But a lot of his actions just make me feel like he lost his humanity somewhere, and that bothers me. People are a lot nicer when they're closer to the ground, and he keeps calling the people around him gods, so I think he'd have been a lot happier if he had stayed more true to himself instead of turning into another rich young master pulling strings and messing with people's lives like it's nothing. I'm a little guy, so knowing people really do that, bothers me.

The only way I see myself liking this, is if his little brother got away from that kind of life, grew up into a badass and a good person who could support himself, and had plenty of genuine friends that weren't there for benefits. At least one of them would have a cleaner life. There can't only be bad people with high statuses, right? Even the dad and grandfather can't be left clean, and I don't like cold characters with slowly/partially rotting centers, even if they're fluffy with people they like.

There's also how naive he's acting. He's old enough to know how to play stocks, buy up lands and make millions, but he doesn't realize that the affection going on between him and his big brother is a little abnormal? A few pecks here and there, sleeping together with clothes, is believable. But they shower together, up until he's fifteen, and his brother touches him in places only a lover should, kisses him and plays with him the way only a lover should, but... it's normal?

Sorry for the long review (sorry, I meant rant). I'm a reader, so I've read a lot. There's easily a lot of stories better than this that don't make me feel like I'm slowly losing more and more of my faith in humanity. I'm sorry if my opinion bothers anybody, I read a lot of stories like this, but not so much second chances as, getting put down then rising up from the ashes and turning into a badass. Either way is fine, though there is one I can't seem to remember the name of.

This woman wasn't so different from this kid, she dies realizing the one person that really cared for her, and when she woke up? She didn't go looking for revenge. She ignored the bad people, and went to take care of the person that always loved her no matter what. I think I'd rather find that story and read it, instead of finishing this book. I just got tired of the revenge plots because there's so much of it... <<less

I half google translated half read it as raw since I could read some Chinese. It was really sweet and little angst b/w the main characters, which I'm thankful for. They don't really go into detail when the MC and his brother have s*x and yet ... more>>

they do it everyday and the poor MC can't move he next morning but he forgives the brother since he pampers him in bed while feeding him porridge (sometimes with the mouth >///<)

my favorite aww part is like the very end where the couple came back from honeymoon and the bottom MC was remembering their honeymoon days just recently and told his lover how he really liked it. Then the lover reassured his little lover that they'll go honeymoon around this time every year when its his birthday and the little MC was so touched he said he wished he could be his brother's bride in the next life and the one after too. Our man responds with how he'd definitely find him first so the little MC won't suffer any grievances. Honestly, I just thought this was the sweetest moment really :)

Strong pedo-vibes.

Like, the MC might be thirty in his head, but his body is 13, looking like he's 10 due to malnutrition.

And this is the body the currently 18y/o ML is lusting over. Like secretly touching and getting a boner over.

Yeah, more than a little creepy.

I keep on wanting to pull the MC aside and giving him "the uncle" talk.

Three stars for good character and world building, -2 stars for creepy shota mol*station.

I actually liked this one, but the trend of females (adult AND children) being evil or some kind of antagonist is getting old (with the exception of maybe two mention of women that never show up again plus the grandma). I want to cringe every time a woman is mentioned for more than a paragraph before it is revealed that she was a villain. What does this author have against females?

And I know someone mentioned that not villains are females - that's not the point. The point is that females... more>> who show up more than once and have more than one paragraph describing them or their actions ARE villains. Yes there are males villains, but there are a also males who are great supports too. There is just no balance with females and that's the problem. NOT that females are villains, but that NO females (ones that get mentioned more than once) are NOT villains.

There isn't in*est, but the adult brother making moves on his clearly underage brother gives me the creeps occasionally. Other than the two problems mentioned above, the story and translation isn't too bad.

I know a lot of people will feel hurt by this review because they love the story, and I understand, I love it too. But it doesn't mean that I'm going to ignore its faults. Critique is not hate. Just because you love something doesn't mean it is perfect, and that's okay.

TLDR: I love this story, but I hope the writer stop heading down the route with "females are bad". <<less

This... I can't read this anymore.

It's not that this is a bad novel, or anything, and the translation team did an excelent job! It's just... The older brother showing so much attraction to the body of a little kid is making me extremely unconfortable.

I know the MC isn't really a child, but that is only on mind, his body is still that of a yong boy, and the ML doesn't know the MC isn't a child yet, so his behaviour and thoughts sometimes come of as really creepy to me,... more>> and I just can't.

If that doesn't bother you, this novel seems pretty decent, just not for me. <<less

I'm honestly so happy that a lot of Chinese BL/danmei novels are being picked up and getting translated lately.

This is one of the more enjoyable modern urban love rebirth stories. If not for the revenge plot, this would really be fluffy as heck, as this novel also spent quite a few chapters during Shu Ning's childhood, and his interactions with Shu Heng is really cute af especially when the latter has started to spoil Shu Ning. It got tooth-rottingly sweet by the time their relationship was established romantically.

Since Shu Ning, due to the incitement of his mother, did everything to hamper Shu Heng's path during his previous life, he is now doing his best to repay Shu Heng and be good to him since he was the only one who was at least good to him in spite all of the things he had done. Shu Heng was aware that it was actually Shu Ning's mother who was prodding Shu Ning's actions.

BUT, I honestly found some scenes a bit uncomfortable. Shu Ning was still pretty young when Shu Heng started developing feelings for him. It's just the thought of their ages that made me uncomfortable, is all.

One of my fave cute and fluffy ones. <<less

This is a good one. I hate weak characters and the MC and ML are certainly not weak characters. You might make the case the MC is actually vengeful since this is his rebirth and the previous players may behave differently, esp spoiler ahead for those who do not want to know DO NOT READ:[Wang Cong, a previous supposedly friend who took every advantage of MC ($$$, power) but when the MC got jailed in the previous life he came to taunt him but in this life the MC deliberately sets him up to become a caged prostitute. I would feel sorry for MC but for one paragraph that showed that his intention to get close to MC even possibly to sleep with him is to to take advantage of the MC's money and power so Wang Cong never had good intentions to begin with.]

This is the story for you if you like smart and vengeful characters! The ending is cute... very improbable but very cute.

was kinda cute at first

I hate it when ML s are written as overbearing pricks that dont know what no is

Its not romantic. Its not cute. Its actually quite repulsive.

ML keeps doing things that MC already expressed multiple times for him to stop. Gross.

theres this one part he dry humped on MCs leg and kissed him to get off while MC was sleeping. Gross.

Also MC may be mentally 30 but ML doesnt know that. ML is a legal adult and MC is in a 13 y/o body that passes for 10. So, pedophillia. abso-goddam-lutely disgusting. I couldnt bear to keep reading. Its just wrong.

Also despite being bl its slightly homophobic ? "Even as a homo he has morals" the heck is the author tryna say. Stuff like this happens multiple times like, no, stop.

Honestly this would have been so cute if ML wasnt written as a douche with no morals. Non con is frickin disgusting. Shame on u if u think its romantic or hot. Ew. Ew ugh. Ew. <<less

I made it to chapter 63 in this series and for that alone I give myself huge props. I usually try to finish everything I begin reading but I simply could not for this series and I am certain I wont come back to it in the future.

The MC is a 30 year old adult living his second life as a 13 year old, how on earth can he not see the inappropriateness of his relationship with the ML. The ML is someone I wont ever want within 100 yards of anyone I know, children and adult alike, I found him to be a despicable person preying on a young child. Said young child who is internally an adult is quite an unbelievable character himself no one is that s*upid, the author made both characters unlikable to me. The main plot felt lost as well, the revenge aspect was completely lost in the story and felt like it was more a side story to distract from the despicable ML and incredibly s*upid MC. I wont recommend this to anyone. I personally dont mind slow developments in a story but the level of s*upidity of the MC was too much for me to bare so I'm on to another series. I truly wish I could slap both the MC and ML.

I was ok with the weird jailbait wait honestly; I've seen it before and since Shu Ning was 30ish on the inside it was more palatable. It's just everything else that started to go downhill fairly early on----

Wang Cong's downfall into forced prostitution for example. Like, bro, he didn't do anything to you in this life. And what he did to you in the last life is still not proportional to what you schemed for him in this life. Also how the little brother Shu Yao is handled. I can understand avoiding him (because this character in the last life was truly a snake like the mom), but I can't understand being so circumspect about raising him better. Even if the kid is inherently lacking morality, it is possible to force him to learn boundaries!!! Also he's 3.

I just don't feel like anybody got any character development, including the MC and ML.

As of chapter 70: I agree with Fuufuu's review, but I still rated this one as 5 stars. (1) The misogyny is is pretty blatant, any female character that has a speaking line is pretty much guaranteed to be a villain. It's a common theme in danmei and yaoi, sadly. I think there are only three non-villain females? Each shows up for only a single chapter or so, except the grandmother who doesn't show up at all- she's dead before the story even begins. It's quite frustrating. (2) The MC's... more>> young age (13) makes the ML's (18) affection a little hard to empathize with. That said, the ML doesn't do anything too outrageous, fully aware he needs to wait until the MC is an adult, so I personally don't get any creepy vibes. I can't connect to him as a character, but I'm not turned off by it. By the time there's any s*x, a five year age gap shouldn't be quite such a big deal.

There is no in*est. They aren't blood related, they aren't legally related, they weren't even raised by the same people.

As for the good stuff, what isn't there? It's fluffy, the romance is slow and far more realistic than most stories, there's character growth. Judging by the writing style, there will probably be some decent smut later. It has a bit of face-slapping and revenge but it doesn't go overboard like a lot of Chinese novels do. Again, character growth. It's a character-driven story, so while it seems obvious there would be character growth, I've learned to never take it for granted, especially in web novels. All character actions are logical and there are no absurd events invented just for excitement or action. I have no idea if the MC has a halo or plot armor yet because he simply hasn't done anything so s*upid as to merit the author having to bail him out. That's seriously refreshing, especially since the MC isn't the usual genius or OP type. None of the characters are perfect, either, not even the ML. The translation is excellent and very fast, if a little inconsistent. There's no in-text translator opinions (a pet peeve of mine), only short informative notes where needed. Helli is awesome.

If the story keeps up its current standard, this will definitely be one of my favorite stories, worth re-reading. Who knows, maybe later there will even be a few non-villainous females. I would love to see the MC have a female best friend later, he totally seems like he would get along more with women than men. He even makes a comment about preferring female friends in the beginning, so I have hope.

EDIT: I apparently wrote this review at the best point in the story. After 70, it's pretty much all downhill. The plot has no focus, the snusnu is glossed over (and ends in passing out every single time, I swear the MC must have serious health issue), there are no more female characters, there's barely any resolution and what closure there is comes in the form of an extra that hurriedly tries to start a whole new plot and solve it at the same time. Even the translator hated this story by the end but admirably still finished it. I'd recommend the first half of this story like crazy, but only if you don't mind dropping it after that. <<less

I wish there was more translated! Shu Ning died a miserable death the first time around and comes back with a vengeance! Weak character? What's that! I adore how he is making sure that everybody that screwed him over in his first life definitely doesn't get to do that to him in his second life, but is also willing to give people a chance that he didn't before because of brainwashing. Gaah, I wish somebody would pick up this project! (Or that I could read Chinese, y'know, the usual impossible... more>> wishes lol.) <<less

I have a lot of nosebleed after reading this novel.

I am quite disturbed by the story so far.

Spoilerish things ahead, but without them it's hard to explain my standing.

I will be repeating earlier mentioned points from other reviews:

    • The writing is... hard to read. It's chaotic and too simple, in the preschool boy's doodles way.
    • MC is 13 year-old and his 18 year-old brother is lusting after him. Yes. He gets it up for little boy. I know that one can develope attachments for other person in any age, but feeling s*xual attraction is whooole another ball. I could (maybe) just ignore this thing (at this point I was reading just for the plot. I was curious about the way MC will later develope his life and what will come of few interesting character... but I can't stomach it anymore.) but later in the story (well, about in half) the ML starts to "prepare" his younger brother for mol*stations he wants to do to him. That's just plain wrong. There should be some kind of warning that it is story with pedofilic elements in it.
    • another disturbing thing is MC's hate for his younger brother. It's understandable that he hated him in his past life but bloody hell, the baby was just born and he was innocent (at least there was no mention of reborn of him too). MC was just unreasonable. It was pretty easy to just take the baby and help him grow up into normal and honest man. But nope. MC just hated him, avoided him and I guess he will make his life living hell later in the story. This is just nonsence.
Usually, I don't review unfinished stories but there were so many wrongs in this one that I made un exception.

So, this is really disturbing story and I can't make myself finish it. I don't want to have these things inside my head more that I have to.

Although this novel is kinda cute, I think it has problems very much alike super lovers. The shotacon just gets too much. The actual MC being 30yo and gay makes it worse, the author writes him like a real 13yo only when she wants to do fanservice and suddenly he is like schemming agaisnt his enemys e using the stock market to get money. You can't just pick and choose when he is goint to act like a child and when he is going to act lile a adult, it... more>> has to be organic.

And how the hell a 30yo gay man think his 18yo brother kissing him and basically dressing in fetish clothes is "normal" or "brotherly" any gay man at this age who is clearly comfortable with his sexuality would realize the shenanigans are not shenanigans.

Also, another thing that keeps coming up on bl stories is the possesive lovers who dont listen to their counterpart. It's like they don't see them as human, just some bag of flesh and bones they can mol*st. The ML hasn't come to this point but several times he thought of locking the MC up and another several occasions the MC said he didn't like something he did (like the kissing) and the ML just kept doing even when both knew it wasn't "normal".

Another thing that I just realize, they think the MC is useless, there were times he did something or tried to help in some way, that had to do with his knowlegde of the future and the ML just went "you just stop doing that I already know everything there is to know in the universe" I know the trope of weak bottom is a thing, but you're turning him weak just so the ML can overpower him, that takes all the power the MC had and possible storylines he could have because of his reincarnation, just do a silly kid it has almost no point on him being a reincarnator.

I'm not giving a 1 star because it's nice written and it has some nice moments...

The one I like the most is when the mother enter MC's room and she has a very bad face and the MC steps backs and starts to tremble scared, that was the only time in the story where he is like this towards his mother, THE ONLY TIME, and she's supposed to be a manipulative and abusive mother, but throughout the rest of the story he doesn't even show how f***** up was their relationship, he only tell us, but it doens't amount to nothing (except this one time)

Also anothe thing that I liked is how you discover that the ML lead was also thrown away by his real father and now the father apparently is trying to reconnect with him because he needs him for shady reasons, just like what the MC suffered. It's a nice touch to show how alike they are, simple but effective.

This had so much promise in terms of the whole rebirth and revenge trope but after Shu Heng and Shu Ning got together, the whole story went downhill and loose ends were tied half-heartedly like the author can't be bothered to go into details.

On the latter half of the story, the author just kept on summarizing things and shoving it on my throat and there's no proper transition.

Also when they got together, the story was just full of them doing pa pa pa, like ok.

So I understand that people are rating this lower than 5 stars because the MC is still 13-14, but it's still cute as heck and fatal death via diabetes inducing fluff. The interaction is super natural and the plotting is also not overtly obvious, super smooth and the kaomojis are very well used

This novel reminds me of a soap opera - it's addictive and makes you keep wanting to read more but at the same time its has some plot holes and loose ends that the author can't be bothered to deal with and just sweeps under the carpet.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about this novel. Even though it was initially an enjoyable read but lately I feel that the novel was getting more and more messed up till the point its getting unbearable to read. It's getting unbearable in the... more>> sense that the story just doesn't really make sense ever since shu ning and shu heng did their first pa pa pa.

(since I followed it for this long and this was one of the first danmei I read, I honestly can't decide if I should continue reading it and have brain cells dying as a result or just drop it completely...I'm leaning more towards the latter tho)

10/10 for the good & fast translation tho, thank you helli c: <<less
