I just find the ending goofy.

Spoiler

Like I know the author is reassuring the ML but wtf is that? We already had the destiny dragon to explain stuff why include the author? Unless he was added to the story in order to make their destiny align like a cogwheel - makes sense but this is just my guess

[collapse]

Sometimes the switching makes the story look like a different genre. which I guess made me less immerse since I'll be confuse and wonder if I'm reading the same thing.

Spoiler

First their in medieval times, then it turns into fantasy with magic, and then an industrial revolution. After that it became those destiny type of stories and then an "author" suddenly came - basically a modern genre. WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!

[collapse]

As for their final trials...

Spoiler

It was boring since they went throught worse so I kinda expected more. I expected them to be burning for I dunno 1000 years or their isolated in an inhabitable island or maybe their tied to the pole where their guts is slowly eaten by birds or something. Or maybe they tried to live life without the other and accept their heartache.. Now that's what I'm talking about

[collapse]

I did enjoy though since the plot is not bad and it did made me tear up. Suspense is good to. I had to stop multiple times since I can't take the heartache <<less

To be honest, the FMC is kind of selfish/insufferable and the MC often acts like a middle-schooler in terms of emotional intelligence. However, there is character development if you can endure the occasional cringe.

If you're uncomfortable with NTR, some questionable and suggestive scenarios might upset you. Hell, the FMC's character is just like the weak-minded and indecisive female leads in actual NTR works.

Spoiler for later chapters:
Spoiler

As an example, she has gotten engaged several times in the past unwillingly and is married off by her family in the later chapters like some piece of meat without a single protest and acts like a tragic heroine when MC tries to move when she abandoned him. One could argue that it isn't her fault and instead her father's, but she acknowledges being selfish and spineless herself as well. This provides an opportunity for character growth, but I dislike these types of forced developments.

[collapse]

But! If you can handle the pseudo-NTR developments without cringing, the characters aren't that bad and it's above average for Korean novels of the same type.

A 4.25/5. MC thinks FL doesn’t really love him and acts accordingly. FL really loves MC. Misunderstandings ensue. Definitely not as bad as some of the other reviews suggest. MC is a little dense and too reliant on knowledge of the original novel but it has some good writing so I definitely see this story improving as time goes on.

I liked ML x FML pairing, ML's conflict of giving his heart or not to the person, who will most likely betray him, FML's personal growth and the whole process of how she chooses what she wants despite the odds.

On the other hand the plot is kinda strange... Decline of aristocracy is too forced. Also author put a lot of strange shenanigans without warnings in the last arc ... more>>
Spoiler

regression tag is out of nowhere?, mystical creatures like dragons also out of nowhere?, 4th wall break with author himself as character??? work becomes super fatalism-oriented all of a sudden

[collapse]

Possession tag makes you conflicted throughout the whole novel. ML is very assimilated with original Edward, there is no explicit description of his past life and small details are very similar with original Edward's settings. FML also finds a lot of similarities with his childhood self. On the other hand he has some modern knowledge + he is in the process of adaptation at the start of the novel, so you can't automatically assume that ML=original Edward. But if that is not true then
Spoiler

the regression setting in last arc feels horribly wrong and FML's childhood crush goes to tr*sh bin. The problem is that until 95 chapter it is not stated explicitly.

[collapse]

Some extra characters also have questionable development
Spoiler

FML's father becomes villain despite his doting father setting, Prince from the person with good eyes becomes incompetent ruler

[collapse]

All in all, I found this couple's story enjoyable and could overlook those negative points. <<less
