I am the Father of the Villain

My name is Lin Luoqing. Today, I transmigrated into a book but I’m not panicked at all. It is because I know the direction of this book very well. I can definitely use the plot advantage to reach the peak of my life and become a winner in life!

Hey, what is with that child over there who is peeking at me? How did he show up at my house? He is looking at me with three parts sadness, five parts dissatisfaction and two parts complicated.

“Child, what is your name?” I ask him gently, trying to make him feel the warmth of the spring breeze.

The child looked suspicious and cold. “Lin Fei.”

F*k! Isn’t this the cold-faced king of hell in the novel? He was tortured by his uncle in childhood and started to torture his uncle as an adult. Then this body I transmigrated into—it was that tr*sh uncle!

Nevertheless, I didn’t panic. I decided to save myself. I hugged this young king of hell and kept kissing his soft and tender face. “Uncle loves you.”

He might dislike me now but I believe that under the education of my love, we will definitely become a good uncle and nephew of China, moving me and him!

Wait, who is that beautiful woman over there? Why are the corners of her eyes twitching? “Please, Luo Luo, please help your brother. You can marry Ji Yuxiao. You are bringing a child with you and he also has one. The two of you can get in touch with these children!”

Oh, woman, don’t think I don’t know that you are the one who first looked at Ji Yuxiao’s beautiful face, rich family and wealth and wanted to climb up high. Now that he was in a car accident and has injured legs, you don’t like him anymore? Do you think I will agree?

“I agree.”

It is because I remember that in the novel, the original owner of the body didn’t agree. This made him and the Lin family enter the blacklist of the most ruthless villain, Ji Yuxiao’s nephew. I haven’t embarked on the peak of life and become a life winner yet. How can I be on the blacklist?

I hold my suitcase in my left hand and the king of hell in my right and enter Ji Yuxiao’s home.

“This child is very fierce. You must not provoke him.” I gave a reminder to the young, cold-faced king of hell beside me.

The cold-faced king of hell is very dismissive.

Wait for it, the amazing king of hell. The villain will teach you how to be a man in a minute!

After a while, a soft glutinous rice ball-like child appears in the room. The child’s voice is very babyish. The cold-faced king of hell pokes him in the face and asks me, ‘Is that it? Just this? Fierce?”

Me: ……

Later, I found that Ji Yuxiao didn’t die according to the plot in the book. Even his legs are healed and every day, he wants to go car racing with me until late at night!

“You beast!”

Who says he is moody, cold, noble and uncertain? I must have read a fake book! How can I become a winner in life? I didn’t expect that I actually became a winner in life in the end.

The cold-faced king of hell: Dad, I just made 100 million and deposited it in your card.

The big villain: Dad, the antique car I just bought from an auction is in your garage.”

Ji Yuxiao: Wife, did you drop this gold card or this black card? Forget it, I’ll give it all to you.”

Me: ….Just—this is fine.

I loved this book! Especially the intrigue at the beginning, the family show at the end, and the satisfying extras in the original world.

This book is so healing. I think the way the author portrays the couple raising kids is so good. Giving them the security of knowing they're loved, supported, and can make up their own minds. The way the children appreciate their adopted parents' efforts and reciprocate is a bit laughable in my mind - it makes sense considering their background and character setting, but it's not realistic... more>> at all. Regardless, this unrealistic portrayal is so wholesome and such a wonderful fantasy.

I honestly love how the author portrays the flaws in the children, and how the couple (mainly Mc) helps them come to terms with them and learn to live a fulfilling (and law-abiding) life. Many people have ideas or heuristics that are harmful for themselves or others, and finding ways for them to restructure or tame these is a large part of growing up. A good family will help each other do this, and it was refreshing seeing the parental figures doing that in this story.

If I was to name something I didn't like in this story, it was the overly sweet romantic scenes after all the family intrigue was resolved and before the children were brought into the entertainment mix. That part felt so genetic and one-sided (perfect domineering boss pampers his super sweet white lotus lover). It didn't have the depth or family warmth of the rest of the book in my opinion. <<less

This is good

10/10 would re-read it

First of all, yes this is family friendly read, but there's some tear-jerking things there (self-blame, revenge, some blood) but relatively save read.

... more>> And there is so many characters I ship (lol), but not the kids, alright

In this universe, author didn't make them couple coz they're brothers! If you find other reviews said they ship it, you need to read it first, don't jump in conclusion.

Maybe some people will think it's a boring story because of the slowburn and family oriented novel of child rearing, but this novel have so much message for us (readers) about trauma and mental health affecting someone and children.

This is a good read, 10/10 would read it again.

Thank you LLQ for being there for JYX and the kids, much love ✨💞

Edit: Just putting it here
Spoiler

i would love to read Lin Fei and Ji Leyu story from the other universe, I want to know how they get closer and healing each other wounds and trauma

And would love some extras about Ji Leyu parents return, author mention it at some point, and I hope they really return his parents, and give Lin Fei's mom back too atp

Forget about the plot, it lasted like 10 chapters beside keeping it suspenseful earlier, we never got back it till near the 3rd quarter. The lack of face slapping left me wanting more.

We were brought 200+ chapters of fluff and children interactions, besides the first misunderstanding it was a straight sail smooth sailing for MC and ML. We explore their relationship fluff and loss of their family together.

There's not much actions and plenty of fluff. I enjoyed it but I wanted more Drama QAQ

The bantering between the MC and ML is funny but it gets stale very quickly, WHEREAS, when the two are acting in front of other people, it's ridiculously funny and there aren't much misunderstandings between the two.

My favourite moments are about Lin Fei and just seeing him interact with others (he's so cute honestly). I like it when there's a child MC has to take care of honestly and it shows a genuine relationship.

I laughed too hard in the middle of the night and still laugh every time MC says... more>> such touching things and the ML acts so shocked and looks at other people saying, "I'm so touched. Are you touched?" It's f*cking hilarious 🤣

MC is pretty funny with his acting antiques ngl.

For you to enjoy this novel, I'd say not to take it very seriously and to turn your brain off. I usually like serious plots that are well fleshed out but sometimes you gotta accept the plot holes in light hearted stories especially if it involves transmigration.

The only problems I'd have with this novel is the overuse of the word "handsome", they are constantly calling the ML handsome, heck, even the children keep getting called handsome 😭 When Ji Leyu had a dream about his parents, his mother said he's very good looking like excuse me but I think you such be saying "You are a very good boy" or "My sweet child" rather than that? Romance really loves to accentuate looks to a horrifying degree, anyways, I just skipped those parts so it wouldn't affect my reading too much. (Chapter 29 review)

edit: (115)

My thoughts on this novel has changed a bit.

Spoiler

Still love the children, Lin Fei and Ji Leyu, I only read the novel for them.

I hate the romance between the MC and ml, stale, repetitive and boring. The dynamic is a CHORE to read and there's no fun moments between them.

I just finished the CEO entertainment company arc where MC kicks out the old ceo for becoming incompetent by listening to his little lover and I have to agree that it reeks of nepotism and hypocrisy as the ML did exactly what Chen Wei (previous ceo) did, listening to his lovers words and letting it affect the business but bc its MC, he's going to make the company better but that's besides the point. MC has zero qualifications or skills to run the business in reality, he can do this bc that's what the author wants.

[collapse]

overall, im still only reading it for the children but the time is so stagnant, only a year has passed and I'm already on chapter 115, almost halfway through the novel. I really want to see Lin fei and ji leyu grown up but no, they're still six and five. Also the whole kissing children all the time is overly done, the jealousy between each other when talking to others too, the overly consciousness of ML being unable to get it up is also annoying. There's too much repetition in their love banters. Hearing it once or twice is okay but consistently, it's irritating and unfulfilling due to the fact they can't do anything other than "pull by the waist and kiss" then "flirt" and shit, like they haven't even gone to an amus**ent park with the children due to ml's lame legs or go to the beach, park, nothing : ( <<less

Lmao that one review who criticized the author for not knowing how to write kids cracked me up. I mean I agreed in the sense that Lin Fei and Ji Leyu definitely did not behave like normal children but that's like the whole point? The author was not trying to portray them as normal children in the first place, Ji Leyu definitely had mental disorder, probably sociopathy bordering on psychopathy, but since Ji Leyu still can form genuine attachments and affection to the people he cared about, he's definitely not... more>> a psychopath. He's just a sociopath.

The irony was when the author finally wrote a scene where Ji Leyu had the most appropriate child's like reaction to something, this commenter had the audacity to be mad about it and expected Ji Leyu to be all mature about it.
Spoiler

like please be for real, Ji Leyu had just met the son of his parents mu*derer, it's normal for any children in Ji Leyu's position to hate the other kid. Children don't have the maturity and emotional capacity to understand that a child shouldn't be blamed for their parents' action.

[collapse]

Anyways, I love this story so muchhhh. I came for the romance but stayed for the little kids. I'm sorry but I preferred Lin Luoqing relationships with the children more than the romance. I love the romance here, Ji Yuxiao and Lin Luoqing are definitely sweet together, but the family fluff remained superior. <<less

Enjoying this quite a bit except certain parts with the kids. Kind of got spoiled from the very beginning by the translators that the kids are gonna end up together which is kind of giving me the ick.

I usually wouldn't mind pseudo-in*est lol but the idea of it here kept throwing me off and I kind of really hate it. I wish the translator never said it and the author never went that route.

I love MC and ML. I enjoyed the comedy in this mostly. I love love love Lin... more>> Fei. JLY was fine, but the way he and LF kept being written as kids while acting very much not as kids was a bit frustrating. Author doesn't know how to write kids. Ah well.

I can't exactly rate it yet because I'm liking it but I just realized I've gone past 100 chapter and so little has actually happened lol very much a slice of life with very little actually happening.

My favorite interactions are between MC and Lin Fei, and almost all the scenes of LF to be honest. I like JLY, but he's a bit too much 😅 and best enjoyed in very very small doses

Spoiler

ok no what the hell. Ch. 190 onwards. I want to have JLY institutionalized. This is not funny. He's a psychopath in the making and he needs help. I get that this is fictional but the way the author is writing him, but kind of like the readers are supposed to sympathize with him?? Hell no. An innocent kid is being relentlessly bullied for no other reason than being a kid of a mu*derer. What the hell. I wanted to slap JLY so bad. Kid needs therapy.

[collapse]

Edit: I was starting to love this because MC, ML and Lin Fei are so loveable. But author just had to dedicate a few chapters to just the kids and show off how bad they are at writing kids. Chapters 190-194 made me wanna drop this. Skimming was the only way I could get through those chapters because I started getting Hella irrationally angry over fictional characters.

Edit: I'm smiling happily by the end of the main story and part of the extras. I didn't want to finish the extras knowing it would just spoil my experience. Good, light, slice of life x showbiz novel. Won't want to reread again tho. <<less

I remember reading this before and enjoying the family vibes in the story along with the romance.

The genius babies were also cute. However, ever since I found out that the author wrote a story about the two kiddos getting together in another novel focusing on them, I lost interest.

I rather it be kept a family vibe with two brothers wholeheartedly loving each other. However it became a pseudo-in*est story instead which made me dislike rereading this one. Especially when they grow up together close as brothers. I totally agree with... more>> hy-d-ra's review. <<less

The story are well written but waayyyyyy to winded, like the autor draaaaaaag this story to hell and back that sometimes it felt like im reading the same scene again and again.

Also I dont really like how the author always say the ml's being a cripple in every other chapter. Its like the author dont want the reader to forget 'yes, the ML is someone on a wheelchair'. Its to a point im getting sick of it and have drop it at ch 123.

One more thing I cant get behind... more>> is how insanely genius level brain the kids are. They freaking 5 n 6 years old. Like sometimes they act like kids but when the author 'subtle' (i put air quotes bcoz the author doesnt do subtle) is LITERALLY SHIPPING LITTLE KIDS, KIDS THAT SHOULD STILL HAVE BOGGERS AND RUNNY NOSES. What do you mean by this author. Oh, my gosh I felt stress just remembering this part. <<less

MC is a typical Mary Sue. Everyone (except the main characters) has negative IQ when MC is around. Even main characters like the ML and Fei Fei who are suspicious about MC acting differently stop questioning his change at heart after a while. At chapter 70, I'm quite confident I know how the novel will end. But still an enjoyable read.

Spoiler

What I want to see answered is why MC's magical sleeping pill acting skills seem to work only when it's convenient. Since ML falls asleep whenever MC acts then ML should have been asleep for at least the first 30 chapters. Until MC starts falling for the ML, he's acting as ML's fanboy with a love brain. And when MC argues with ML and MC's families respectively he is also acting, but ML doesn't feel the slightest sleepiness??

[collapse]

Edit:

Have decided to drop the novel. Very draggy and repetitive plot. And the Ma Dong Seok dupe wanting to keep MC was a very unnecessary plot point. <<less

Does anyone know "I Transmigrated As A Villain's Mother"? It's basically the same novel with the same plot. The only difference between the two novels are the characters name and instead of being a yaoi, it's a b/g genre.

It still a good novel.

I have so much affection for this author, just by reading the development of the relationships in this novel. And not just the romance, either!

If the author has children, those children are blessed. The way that the MC teaches his kiddos makes my eyes water... He seems a little frivolous and unreliable at the beginning of the novel, but as you read on you realize how much thought he puts into each and everyone one of his words and actions when it comes to Feifei and Xiaoyu.

I will also say... more>> that this is a great novel if you want a break from entertainment novels where the cast+crew are full of snakes. In MC's first drama, he is surrounded by people who come to understand his skills and even his costars go to him for guidance. It's refreshing.

There's such a strong aspect of both blood relatives and found family. Even though some of the worst villains are those blood relatives, the author doesn't just entirely dismiss the concept of blood family. Even in the sea of piranhas, there is true love and trust from some blood relatives. And of course, the little found family that MC and ML forged together.

Next, friendship!!! Exists! ML has a tight-knit and very amusing friend group, and MC is also good at making friends where it counts. The first drama arc is not over yet, and I'm confident that his little costars are going to be fierce advocates for him.

Other reviewers note that the focus isn't all on romance, and I agree! But hopefully you can tell that the non-romance parts are heartwarming enough to not be a waste. And the romance itself... Hehe I do love it. The MC and ML have such a healthy dynamic and development, without it being boring. I love dogblood as much as the next person, but I'm thoroughly satisfied by this love as well. Bravo to the author!! <<less

A novel full of love and warmth, technically a kid/family-oriented novel (family of 4) but each characters are so distinctive and well-crafted that you don't feel like they're any less compelling than each other. It's hard to find something like this, when most feels like they only have 1 or 2 characteristics and then fall into a cardboard person cut-outs.

Not just the main characters but some of the sides are crafted nicely for their parts. Still, there's also alot of replaceable characters/cannon fodders (appears, does their job, disappears completely). Which... more>> feels like abit of a shame considering how delicate the author is with how they're made as well, anyways it's fine.

What's surprising is that this novel doesn't recycle antagonists. Once they're done, they're done. No need to worry about them coming back for revenge (still, it can be unsatisfying if you like more face slaps).

Switching between gears (work stuff, family warmth, face-slapping family, kids) feels abit clumbersome, only because it takes chapters to go through it, and then having to switch gears. It felt a little stiff.

Anyways... it was a good reading experience. Felt like a cinematic universe of it's own. It definitely had the chapters to back that up as well. I would've liked to see more of the AU stuff with the kids (the last 2 extras). The rest of the story focuses on the parents dont worry. <<less

This is my favorite story by this author. I've always loved showbiz and family themes. LL (MC) transmigrates and makes a deal to marry the man rejected by the real LL in the book. It's a cliche plot but I never get bored (〃∀〃) ゞ

JY (ML) he has serious problems after the accident and his meeting with LL at the beginning of the book is quite funny. He is a person who suffers from depression and disability at the beginning of the story. I'm so happy to see he can... more>> rise and return to his old self, despite being colder, but he has LL who always supports him, JL and LF who loves him.

LF (LL nephew) is a child who has an introverted side and is separated from the world which is quite extreme both in the book and in this story, but he is intelligent and protective. At first he felt his uncle was strange for changing, but as time went on he loved him very much. Under LL's influence he also becomes a quiet caring child, his attitude is more like JY's.

JL (JY nephew) he's a cheerful and two-faced kid hahahaha... he's still so young but knows how the J family views him. Not to mention the trauma behind, JL does have a huge potential to become a villain. But LL managed to make LF watch him and keep him under control, even though he is possessive but he has a sweet mouth and will often bully people who disturb his family. He is the person who thinks the most about the integrity of his family. He is similar to LL who is very clingy and spoiled.

Their family problems are quite dramatic especially from LL side and the process is very good and opened one by one, not to mention LL has a halo protagonist that allows him to develop his acting career and his company well, also he helping minor characters in the story for better future. I love the extras where this family goes shooting variety shows and there are lots of cute babies go to countryside. <<less

I just love this.

Just like the author's other books, this novel does not disappoint.

The love between the family is just super sweet. And how the little babies try their best to TC of the ones they love is just too sweet.

Even with all the fluff and sweetness, the story has a good plot going on which was added benefit.

Overall, it was a sweet fluff and a really meaningful story on how to TC of two babies and the ML and MC are both likable characters.

One of the most satisfying and complete slice of life novel I've ever read. The author did a good job with balancing the daily life of the kids and the adults. I actually enjoyed reading all about the MCs acting career and the scripts he played - they were their own mini stories and each one engaging. The children werent just perfunctory tools to move the plot along, they had their own character, thoughts and ideals. They also didnt have super annoying bear personalities that a lot of those novels... more>> with the super op parents have (im talking about those dumb mr presidents wife novels that you can find on Webnovel lmao). This novel has over 300 chapters and I literally didnt even pay attention to the number of the chapter as I read along cause I was never bored or too annoyed that I wanted to skip (well.. Maybe except for one of the mc's scripts but that's mostly cause it was a sad script and I wasnt in the mood haha). Also, the author is currently writing a sister book - this time starring the children <<less

Mostly just a cute chid-rearing novel. There were a lot of side characters ruined by the original novels dog-blood plots, so the MC speculates he was sent to resolve past grieviences. I tend to agree. So this is mostly about family love and is adorable and funny. 'Plot' resolution only happens 200 chapters in, so be prepared. But it's an easy mtl, even better translation.

The premise was promising, the plot also interesting, the characters are also OK. Lin Luoqing himself is especially shining. The main genre is childcare, do not expect highly-satisfying romance development.

I have lost the interest after so many unimportant filler chapters; the main story pace is very slow, up to the point it was totally not exist in some of the chapters.

These chapters are filled with only snippets of daily life or scenes that not really moving forward throughout the main plot. The engaging factor easily spent out quickly.

If one have... more>> too much time, and OK with the pace, this might be good to kill time. But for those who look for a story with good pace, engaging conflict, heart-throbbing romance, clear plot, and less fillers, do find another. <<less
