I know its slow romance but its already 85 chapter and still nothing between the MC and ML WTF I aged waiting for any interaction between the two of them

I don't want to keep talking negative things about this novel but really the story is good but with lots lots of unnecessary parts like when they shooting the movies we don't need the details of the movie it wont effect the events of the novel just make it longer with no meaning
I lost my enthusiastic to keep reading really many unnecessary details I will just continue reading just because I get this far and it's pity to drop it now

Also hahaha jjwxc comments calling it a changing of shou novel with gong protag (ML as the actual protag). And warnings about how ML is with the cannon fodder shou for basically half of the entire content of the novel. So accurate.

ML's boyfriend really went wayyy too far this time. His best friend's sister completely betrayed him and was caught by ML. He completely sided with the friends with both his actions and thoughts, against ML who was trying to help and protect him. So ML finally broke up with him and omg ML completely uses the boyfriend's own words against him. And in the follow up scene in c68 ML just completely lays it into him so calmly and cooly.

Basically it's more than just the boyfriend's insecurity. Throughout the chapters we already see him time and time again forgive the best friend for everything, even if not for the ML it would have completely destroyed his career. And yet ML isn't treated anywhere near the same. He relys heavily on ML for support and resources yet holds a grudge on ML for advicing him and protecting him (thinking ML is too controlling).

In the breakup scene it's the ML telling the boyfriend that they're breaking up, and the boyfriend responds with a plea not to and that they could come out to the public. ML agrees to come out and the boyfriend just freezes and regrets it and doesn't actually mean it since it would ruin his career. Which shows so much in just four paragraphs! (2 of only being single sentences) About their relationship and how the boyfriend expects ML to give and give and give while never reciprocating (and covering that up with sweet placates).

In the follow up scene ML makes clear yes, they aren't in a level playing field but unlike what the boyfriend thinks the one with the higher position isn't ML but the boyfriend because thinks bending for ML (boyfriend was originally straight) was already the biggest sacrifice so nothing ML does or give could match up. Such that ML should be unconditionally raising him up and giving in to him to repay the boyfriend for bending for him. And while the he needs this from ML, he isn't willing to do anything for or get closer to ML in return, justifying all this by thinking that he loves ML.

ML brings up the incident that led to the breakup, and how what he did in that incident was all to protect him. The fallout of the incident would mainly impact him, ML himself has many other roads other than acting. That whenever he meets any setback ML would immediately protect him yet he always sides with his best friend and sees ML as the enemy, in all numerous past similar instances too. He could always forgive his best friend but could never try to just see where ML is coming from or understand ML.

ML never forced him to be with ML, it was a mutual relationship. If he had a problem with being with ML, such as having to change his sexuality, then he should have just told ML he was straight back then. This only leads to one side trying constantly to get closer while the other constantly has a shield raised around himself. And how ML might be persistent enough in this kind of relationship for a few years but not for a lifetime.

An example from early chapters is when MC laughed in his mind when the boyfriend NG a scene, and ML heard so in return he purposely made MC NG for the boyfriend. Like ??? I'm pretty sure MC isn't the only one laughing? (not even aloud somemore!!) When MC NG everyone else was mentally laughing too and ML heard so no reason for them not to laugh and him not to hear when the boyfriend NG? The ML was so obviously just singling out MC because he has a bad impression of him.

Then in later chapters (when he has distanced himself from his boyfriend) he still does things for him to the detriment of MC. For instance MC and the boyfriend both auditioned for a role, the director prefers the boyfriend but the producers/other team members prefer MC. The director managed to convince the others and so the boyfriend was chosen. This part wasn't very clear but it seems like knowing that the director prefers the boyfriend, his best friend posted both auditions online to gather online support/recognition along with a poll on who is better for the role. MC pulls ahead in vote by a huge margin and the opinions are largely biased towards him. Which I agree with since it's a horror film about a serial rapist/killer with dissociative identity disorder (has a second personality who's the killer) and doesn't go about it forcefully but rather but charming the girls so they would willingly bring him to their homes and even defend him. For such a character, charming but creepy would fit muchhhh better than just being plain scary or frightening. (MC's interpretation vs boyfriend's interpretation) Take for example the kdrama strangers from hell. Why I love it so much has a largeeee part to do with just how charming yet creepy (yet the creepiness only adds to the charm) the main villain/antagonist is. Just thinking of that character being horror movie trope scary instead.... Yea no wouldn't have worked.

I personally preferred MC's interpretation (the boyfriend's is tropey and takes all the charm and subtlety out of it - MC's would keep audience mesmerised while feeling the chills but unable to look away while boyfriend's would just be normal horror movie scary. MC's would be remembered but the boyfriend's would just be another horror movie, albeit a higher quality one.) so it really bothered me that the author had to specifically point out later on that the movie did really well and has helped push and stabilise the boyfriend's fame.

But MC felt that the boyfriend did better in the audition (style better fits the director's own style, both pure horror style) so he pulled out of the choosing. When the strong online opinions caused the producers to choose MC, he refused and told the director that he should follow his vision/style instead of being swayed by other opinions, the director was touched and now wants MC instead, feeling like MC's style (charming serial killer type horror style) could be combined with his style to have a unique effect. The director told all this to the ML but ML increased his investment in the movie to secure the boyfriends role and bought bots/water army to let the boyfriend win the online poll.

Which although not stated at all since its from ML's POV, this is so unfair and detrimental to the MC? And MC even lamented (in a wistful sigh kind of way) that he liked the role and had really hoped to get it to the ML. Which made me feel so bad for MC since the one he trusts enough to confide this to was the one who ensured he didn't get the role!! MC refused purely because he wasn't the director's choice and when then was it was blocked by ML!!! It mad me so mad at ML, he's pushing down ML for his boyfriend why tf would I want ML to get with MC.

also, there's no "f*ck my lower back! (´Д`) " Thing where the receiver complains about their pain after having a "passionate" night. Idk about anyone else, but those types of things never really felt sweet, but more like their lover doesn't know how to take care of them during the night. I know that it's for comedic purposes to have them resist the ML whenever theirs a mood because they don't wanna wake up with an aching back, but I just wasn't into it. It just made me feel like only one of them enjoyed the seccs. RANT OVER.

He wasn't written to be hateful nor likable, just understandable. He has a inferiority complex, which was completely relatable, resulting in the eventual downfall of his relationship with ML. Neither one of them was really in the wrong, but because they both have different personalities and mindsets they were never going to last anyways. The fact the ML could read minds just sped up the process. I saw a review complaining about how the ML could have explain better since he could read minds and should have at least tried to make the relationship work, but I disagree. I felt like, because of how the author wrote Lin Yeyang and Ji Mian (ML) there was no way for their relationship to last. Lin Yeyang kept putting up a wall due to his inferiority complex and had slight aversion to being with a man in the first place. Ji Mian kept trying to reassure him but failed and eventually his heart grew tired trying to explain to him. Yes, he can read minds, but that doesn't mean he can magically solve all of Lin Yeyang's worries and problems perfectly, he's only human. So it was only natural that they broke up. BTW, I fckin HATE CHENG B!TCHYU. Idk but she was so idiotic, disrespectful, and dislikable to me. She was only a minor character but still, I hate that fckin biotchಠ_ಠ

He's totally overpowered. :sweatdropped: He's a bonafide genius. One take is all it takes to act a scene though it might be explained that it is because his imagination is really wide. He's often described by Ji Mian as "having a solid conceptualization". Once the director explains what the character is supposed to be feeling and why, his mind comes up with his real life experiences that's being integrated to the character's background. LOL, one time he got real scared when he imagines his actual family being involved with drugs. That's a real commitment so dangerous that it scared Ji Mian that Xiao Jiashung might lose himself and get stuck in that characterization. So like his smarts in acting comes with the weakness which is if he have a weak anchor, he might lose sight of reality.

He's real devious and petty. He take pleasure of others' suffering but only for a while. It is something that solidified in someone's books. Since Xiao's the one always being scolded in his family, due to a family problems that's totally the dad's fault, Xiao recorded no good scenes of others to make himself feel better. No, he did not post it in Weibo but it's mentally straining to other actors that's being filmed. That's why Ji Mian was appalled and wanted to teach Xiao a lesson (Joke, it's more like he saw his boyfriend getting filmed and made fun of). Ji Mian wanted him to feel mortification of also being unable to take a good shot. Damn, that's only a few lines but I was really frightened for Xiao. Fortunately (or not?), Xiao successfully performed his characterization of Ling Feng. Actually it is only a small thing but it is really quite evil of him. xD Probably the Young Master's socially awkwardness and lack of normal common sense.

BRUH, can I just say that author is evil? TEN TOENAILS??? My gosh, a ten year old? He's scarred for life! It's a miracle that he can even adapt real fast. Yes, 11 years is fast, some do not recover from trauma a little bit. This is the twist that made my stomach uncomfortable. >.< LOL, "sheltered" they say. More like he's being payed monetary damages for his psychological trauma??? He's alone in America/Abroad. It was said that his first face-to-face ever since he was 10 years old is chapter 1? He does not know how to socialize. Damn, what does that mean? He was still having a hard time connecting with others much less his family except his mother.

He's straightforward. It is charming to other people but it cannot be avoided that to those he is not closed to, they might see him as arrogant and rude. He did not filter so like he's pulling aggro. Protagonist benefits: even if he is honest, he is still held in a favorable light of those who matter or in high social ladder. He's adorable. With his scrambled thoughts and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaHH he's the the second reason of the synched embarrassment that I can feel. He kept on worshipping Ji Mian. Broooo, I'm lighting incense. >///<

If he did not gain his telepathy or whatever that ability is called, he would had been trapped in a relationship where the other guy does not really "love" him the way he does. I am hoping he did say to Xiao Jiushung in the end that he can read minds because bro, be honest to your partner, yeah?

Props to this guy who climbed from down to where he is right now. He holds respect to those people who treated him right. He can be strict and have a clear stance. He's biased tho. It can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask. A CARING MALE LEAD. I'm a bit sad that I cannot say anything more about him. I am more focusing on the main protagonist's background LOL. He's petty and well, he suits the main character. They balance each other out, Xiao Jiushung makes him responsible at times because Ji can't just be reckless as well. They're too fast thoooo. :O PTO broo, your agent's so fed up with you guys.

I still can't get over how Lin Le Yang was fleshed out. He went from 100 to 75 real quick. I felt pity towards him. I think he got the wrong end of the stick. He kept being a puppet of the people close to him. He wanted to give and give and give because he felt indebted towards the persons who kept him. The only problem was that because he wanted to not lose them, in the process he lost sight of his identity. He was easily manipulated and persuaded, the thing after is that he prioritize the opinion of others. He forced himself to act and suppress his true thoughts. That alienated him from Ji Mian and then got continuously be regarded as expendable by his friend/agent. He's your regular guy that does multiple wrong decisions because it's too late when he realized what's important to him was slowly being taken away.

I don't like his actions because it keeps on hurting Ji Mian and he made it seem like he was forced into a relationship where all things are disadvantageous to him. Lin Le Yang says he does not want to use Ji Mian but in the end, all his thoughts revealed that HE DID want to use his connections without strings attached. AHHHH, the thing I hated the most is not that he lied to Xiao Jiashu about still being in relationship with Ji Mian but that he thought to use his body to please/appease JI Mian after he made light of Ji Mian's worries/warning. He thought that after that, all things will be okay again with just giving himself like WTH??? Talk man. Ji Mian can one-sidedly see your thoughts. You will fall into a deeper hole if you keep on digging a grave for yourself and not trying to understand what the actual heck is going on objectively (I know this is not easy).

I think he ought to go to a mental health psychologist to lessen the stress for his psychological well-being. He's paranoid, anxious, and insecure to the point that it's affecting how he regard everyone and himself unconsciously. He might even realize that he need to stop his friend from taking advantage of him and see how he can confidently carry himself afterwards with an unburdened mind. HE ACTUALLY THOUGHT IT'S ACCEPTABLE FOR HIS FRIEND AND HIS SISTER TO USE HIM??? He kept defending them, I can only just pat Ji Mian for having enough patience to deal with that. It's not only them but it's precariously affecting the workplace due to favoritism/nepotism (I know... unavoidable since success is interrelated to networking).

I swear going to someone to talk and see how things will be improved will greatly help anyone especially those who had gone through bad experiences. He's seriously in need of it, man I think he did not even talk in a deeper sense with his friends regarding that. I mean look at Ji Mian, he's been with Ji Mian for years but he held back.

On a totally unrelated note, it would be interesting to have him as the protagonist next time. I mean he already have a background story, it could be his redemption arc for himself. He's really overshadowed by the other characters. He's a talented actor and he just need to get it together and not be a side character because he would be really condemned. If he's the protagonist, the readers would be like totally gonna cheer him on to wake up and live for HIMSELF. Sigh
