I like all the heartfelt conversations between main lead and side characters and also how fluffy this novel is. But other than, I felt that the novel lack substance.

I love most of the characters, especially the rat demon playwright, meishan daren and xinmei's father. And the warm atmosphere inside the Imperial mausoleum, the demons there lived happily without the cares from the outside world. <<less

Aaaaaaa I like it so much. It's a feel good story. It is also entertaining to read and heartwarming. Xin Mei and Lu Qianqiao's love story is not very dramatic or tragic. I'd say it has just the right amount of conflict and emotions to stir the heart and at the same time it makes us feel the warmth.

Xin Mei this girl is very likeable. She's the kind of FL that knows what she wants and would do her best to get it. In short, she's a go-getter. She's also... more>> a frank person and takes matters in a straightforward manner. Sometimes, because of this trait of hers, it annoyed and pissed the ppl around her but most of the time it is a source of comedy. Was there a character development? Well, I think her maturity can be counted.

Lu Qianqiao, I also like him! I can't specifically point out the reason why but I just feel that he has a cute personality. He's sort of a tsundere person (if he's not already one). He knows what he feels but most of the time he fails to express it in a way that the ppl around him would understand. Luckily, he learns to cope with it and tries to correct it.

Other character that I like is Boss Xin! Xin Xiong (did I get it right?) I love how he's so supportive of the couple and I felt the warmth he gave off as a parent and how he advice abd guided his daughter.

A cute romance revolving around a misunderstood jinx. It’s a shortie but goodie. While you may be wanting the author to delve in more at certain parts, it was a refreshing read and can easily be consumed over a day or weekend. It’s a different author, but will make an enjoyable read for anyone who liked Jiang Hu’s Road is Curved.

Ngl I was torn between 5stars and 4stars but seeing how overall rating is low, I'll give 5.

I LOVED this story at the start. I love a powerful, funny, rational MC, and that's exactly what she was. She went on a quirky adventure featuring immortals and monsters in order to buy herself a husband, who is hopefully handsome and "easy to use" (not in that way, *cough*).

Most importantly is her very logical behaviour. She refuses to accept misunderstandings or people deciding what's good for her; she'll go and chase after... more>> the things she wants. She's the type to pull the man into the bridal chambers and adamantly shout for Guanyin on the Lotus position LOL.

However, later on, it feels like she just became an ordinary housewife that can only wait at home for her husband?? At one point people got mad at her for her indifference to ML's problems, but she wasn't indifferent she's just being smart!!! From then on, idk it seems like the things I loved about her disappeared and the only thing left is a loud woman who is good at cooking and waits at home.

Also, I hate this family relationship between ML & his mom. It doesn't make any sense to me when ML won't just cut ties but instead accepts such burdens from a clan of people who would push him into death. All because she seemed a little tiny bit tender-hearted at one point? Please. Sigh, oh well, I'll chalk it up to "it's in his blood".

Tbh the whole blood and Gods and war w the Fox Clan is way more messy than it could've been. Like why'd that monk give the medicine? How'd war gods win? So s*upid.

Anyway, ignoring the last 10 chapters or so, I really enjoyed this story. <<less

I seriously enjoyed this novel and the translation. It was pretty good and funny, each character possess a unique trait that made them unforgettable and special to the readers. The translation was of good quality and the way the footnotes and Chinese idioms were displayed, was useful and dinamic; I really like that.

Sweet love story. Very fun light read. Love the MC straight forwardness. You won’t be bored with her.
