Please use proper spacing and paragraphs. When a futuristic scientist is transported into the body of a young man in a fantasy world, his curiosity and desire for power push him to pursue magic. In a world without mercy, Leylin has no qualms about doing anything if it means benefits. He is cold, ruthless and calculating, never forming attachments that could impede his ultimate goal…
Honor? Who needs that… Hmmm… that guy seems too powerful for me to take on now… I better keep a low profile for now.
You want me to help you? What do I get out of it? Nothing? Bye.
Hmm… that guy looks like he might cause me problems in the future. Better kill him before he becomes a problem…

Plot does get tiring and one-dimensional, but at least there's no major flaw that makes it unreadable (no random pe*ophilia, etc like other Chinese novels). On the major negatives:
(1) Combat system is poorly developed
- A lot of random skills/spells appear midway as plot armor without being introduced, you're just left to assume MC picked it up from the random assortment of treasures he accumulated.
- The concept of "degrees" of power and innate spells/resistances seem kinda odd and inconsistently applied. Many times low-degree spells can overpower another.
- No idea what the point of "agility" is. Never used in anything.
- Arcane energy points never adds up. MC spams a ton of spells and never tires. Why even have that stat? (2) MC is an extreme sociopath and thus quite hard to relate to
- A lot of reviewers claim that MC is just purely logical/rational/reasonable/pragmatic/etc and a product of coming into a cruel fantasy world. There's a misunderstanding here. If you've read anything on psychology or just check the DSM-5, the MC was already an extreme sociopath before he transmigrated -- A sociopath is defined as a person with antisocial tendencies, lack of empathy, and pervasive disregard for the rights of others since an early age. MC already exhibited semi-evil scientist behavior in his original world. He just finally got the powers to act out on his sociopathic behavior in the new world.
Note that MC is not a psychopath seems he have a tiny bit of conscience. - All potential love interests are deemed by the MC as being "too smart/scheming for their own good" and are thus just useful to satisfy temporary s*xual urges. Huh? So what's supposed to be a love-interest?
supposedly he gets a spouse later on, but mainly because she's literally trying to r*pe him
The one main inconsistency is the MC's extreme shortsightedness despite author's attempt to portray him as a clever schemer. MC will repeatedly claim he's not a bad guy and is willing to help others if it gains him benefits/doesn't cause him trouble. But there were obviously many situations were aiding others (or at least adopting a wait-and-see attitude) could bring much more long-term benefits. Just walking away or backstabbing everyone doesn't make any sense. (4) All Magi are sociopaths
Every side character that MC meets (esp Magi) just HAS to be a hypocrite. Claiming that that's how all Magi behave is pretty lame. This makes ALL Magi one-dimensional characters as well, which is really really boring.
The joy I got with this novel is anticipating what the MC going to do next. Damn!! It is so satisfying to see when everything falls after chapters and chapters of preparation.
Sadly, people are quick to judge the novel only reading like 5% (71 chapters) or 16% (200 chapters). Chapter 200 is still in south coast, a tiny part of the world. Can't really blame the MC for acting so cold and detach since at chapter 1 it was establish no one lift a finger to stop the death of the original Leylin even his close friend George. I am curious, is there a study that measures the length of time needed for anyone to fully trust someone.. Because I don't think i'll risk my life for a person I known for 5 months. It's a wonder how chapters can have an illusion of time :)
I had to stop reading it. Before starting to read this novel I knew (with the tags) that the MC will be heartless and I thought he would have a bottom-line which was the case the ~90 first chapters.. but after, the bottom-line is totally non-existant to the point that he is willing to abuse of an innocent little girl and then to let her die like a dog in a city of mu*derers with her aunt (who lives there. She is not a good person at all)...
At the beginning I began to read it because I wanted to know and experience new things like an Evil MC.
I thought that the author was good and the story was original.
But now, the MC has not even the least bit of basic moral value left, ruthless to the extrem and cold hearted (more than ever before). What I see is an author which is trying to make a really dark story but seems to forget his own moral and go too much in the exprem to the point of making the MC do things that could have been avoided (a long time before) just because he wants a heartless MC.
Treating mortals like grass is okay (in this novel because this is an evil MC) but abusing of them to gain massive benefits and then to abandon them in the nest of their enemy for the reason : "Magus advocate fair transactions." makes me really sick of the MC and of the author. What makes me even more sick is that this is what happened to an innocent girl (mortal and ~12 years old) whose grandfather just died because the MC was too lazy to heal him.
