This is amazing. I was blown away by how well the author wrote the story and characters.

This is a novel that turns the tropes on it's head. The ML is a yandere but he and MC both realise that being a yandere isn't healthy and they both seek to work out their issues. The ML has gone through a lot of trauma and thus his reactions are very understandable. ML has controlling and violent tendencies but he does open up to MC about it and they try to solve it.

The... more>> side characters are written well and are used very well in the plot. The plot is coherent and consistent with hints properly placed. I love that the author and the characters question that if you love someone why would you hurt them. I especially like that the actual protagonist shou of the novel Bai Zihao breaks free from his chains and works hard to stand up on his feet. ML actually gives BZH the opportunity to help himself. I love it. ML isn't an unfeeling villain. He actually has clear morals and though he's crazy you can see that it's the fault of the trauma.

MC on the other hand is an adorable cinnamon roll and is the ray of sunshine for everyone. He has his own issues though which get exposed later and MC tries real hard to change himself positively. Our cute MC fights against the heavens itself for ML.

Ok ok I should stop here or I'll continue gushing about this.

The translation is amazing. I do have some peeves with some things the author did in the end but it's not that major.

This novel definitely deserves 5 stars. If you stuck around to read this review go read the novel. <<less

I really love this novel. One of the best i've read so far. The world building, the characters, everything. Maybe for me, this novel is even on par with MDZS. 10/5.

I shed tears, I laughed, I ranted, because of this novel. Usually, I can read novel fast. But I read this novel in longer time I usually needed, because I read every words slowly. The author doesn't neglect her/his characters. They won't just randomly appear for the sake of face slapping or small drama and then disappear in later chapter... more>> without reasons. Each of them has meanings.

The author even stated that she/he doesn't want to follow the norm of story making, and even said to feel free to drop her/his novel to the readers. She/he doesn't care about the mainstream, she/he wants to write novel based on her/his logic, and I love it.

Really, I can even make a whole blog page review just for this novel. I even don't know from what point do I have start to encourage you to read this novel.

Eventho the ML already confirmed MC's love and do the bed sports, but bcs of his very traumatic past, he didn't miraculously became a good guy. I often found a villain ML character (and maybe mostly), when a bad lunatic guy feel loved, they will be repented easily. But not with the ML. He struggled to forgive himself, to trust the MC, to try to like the world he despised the most. And the MC accepted him fully, accepted his twisted view, his traumas, his past. The novel isn't a simple naive novel. Who should be killed, got killed. Even almost every sects. The MC isn't white lotus who prevent him to avenge and kill. But he just ask the ML to learn to tolerate and set a borderline, to don't kill everyone completely, like the innocents. I really like this point. It's not a naive novel. The MC didn't try to make ML become the world's saviour to erase his villain setting by forgiving those tr*sh.

Also the real protagonist shou that the MC supposedly save. He is so pitiful. Altho The ML saved him, he still make the protag shou wake up by himself. By make him realize that every his twisted believe is wrong. That, that's not what a real happiness he thought it is. The ML gave him choices and options. The ML doesn't blatantly force his choice of life to him. He let him choose, to become stronger by his own hands. To make the protag shou himself, wants to heal.

Read this novel.

oh my god. I don’t usually read BL, but stumbled on this accidentally and gave it a shot. So happy I did.

It’s written so well. I’m really nitpicky about plot holes, the consistency and 3D-ness of characters and world building, etc. And this one is so, so solid. It’s interesting and loveable and made me laugh and cry.

Its so good! Although it is a bit slow romance, it's really funny and cute. So being patient when reading this with definetly pay off. The MC is a person with low EQ and is an innocent cinnimon roll. ML is really sad, and him being slowly helped and treated by MC is good.

Contrary to other novels where the ML is described to be perfect in every way, this one shows otherwise.

He's so broken that he couldn't be more broken.

But that's not a reasom for him to be deprived of kindness and love.

... more>> And the MC just shows him that.

Which is very..... healing.

Let's take this chance to raise awareness against those suffering and still currently going through s*xual and all sorts of mental abuse.

No one deserves it, and they can't be blamed for it. Because if given the chance, who would want to go through it?

First off, the translator did a great job! the little notes about sayings and particular names was super helpful.

I actually enjoyed the male lead's character: Yandere, but like he knew what boundaries not to cross with the MC and his adoration was cute. He was hot and intelligent, and was good at scheming and how to plan for the long run.

The MC however... there's a limit to how a s*upid a person can be right??? Like I know it's fluffy and comedic, but the social ineptness of the MC just... more>> made me wanna cringe so hard.

I also found it really annoying how npcs revered the MC as this terrifying doctor, incessantly running, like I KNOW it's supposed to be comedic, but I feel my IQ dropping every time...

The author does eventually clarify later on why the characters have their personality traits, but it doesn't stop the steamrolling second hand embarrassment that comes upon me whenever the MC totally misreads a character and the embarrassing situations he ends up in.

Simply put, if you're looking for some fluffy, silly romance featuring an obsessed f*cked up (but not that super f*cked up) gong, and a dumb as sh*t (socially) but smart (academically) shou? this is for you. <<less

The story is a sure read for me. At first I was intrigued by the Ml's tragic past and how he would execute his revenge and thought it would be a cliché of the hero enacting revenge on whoever did him wrong but I stuck till the end and it was totally out of my previous expectations.

The author does not shy away from the plot and everything happens for a reason and is all connected.

The case of the MC's low EQ and his tad boring personality (for some)

Pros :

ML is a yandere that wants to put his sweetheart inside a black room and keep him away from meat scenes... Other yandere MLs could never- MC and ML spend their days studying together just like good students.

The second ML syndrome that I got is no joke. Also, I'm glad that the author didn't make his ending bad.

... more>> The sypnosis make it sounds that its a light read, well no. There's some TW but the tranlator will put a warning and a summary of said chapters.

Cons :

Unlike most novels, the system here is mainly silent. There's a lot of TW at the beginning.

Kinda got bored at the end of the story (also cus AnLong isn't in it). But finished this and I don't think I will re read this but it's not a bad novel to read <<less

Just gonna drop in and leave a 5 stars here ‘cause this novel is worth your time.

I have great faith in CG and will definitely re-read once the story is entirely translated.

A lot of people have already wrote about the plot, characters and what-nots but what I want to mention is what I like the most in this novel is definitely the character depth. They’re so likable? How to say this, so charming. Give it a try!

If you find the intro a bit daunting, I remember that the translator will... more>> remind you where to skip the heart-wrenching torturous scenes. <<less

I. LOVE. IT! I honestly can't express how much I love reading this. The descriptions seem so clear that I can almost visualize them. I really miss reading this type of novels. I'm not good with words but please believe me this novel is so good. I hope the author makes more books just like this.

This was an epic masterpiece. The plot, the characters, the writing is sooooooo good! It's not easy to take on severe mental health issues and center your story around it without losing the direction. The author executed it perfectly.

I earnestly implore everyone to pleaseeeeeee read this masterpiece and not judge it because of the tags. I know, they seem scary, and they ARE. BUT TRUST ME, good things do come to them and all of them will get their happy ending. And I promise you, none of the mentioned characters... more>> are merely canon fodders like in typical fantasy novels. NO. They have a key role to play and move the story forward. If you feel confused or frustrated about anything or any character, be patient. It has a purpose that will be served beautifully!! <<less

I thoroughly enjoyed the budding love phase. The climax and ending, although not bad and tied up most loose ends, didn’t excite me as much as the initial falling in love part of the story.
But this is a problem I personally have with most romances.

This is not an action/adventure focused fantasy, but a romance. I read romance for the romance, not the external plot. So I get excited by the romance so much that I’m easily put off by the plot.

This story was actually really good and enjoyable though. The ending was a bit difficult to read die to the exposition but it was a good ending that actually explained how everything happened and was meant to be.

The story had a strong start (interesting plotting, good characterization) with writing quality you can expect of a webnovel (barely passable) but about halfway the plot lost steam and it was just a slog to read.

For a work that supposedly denounces r*pe, I was super dissapointed when

the first person Bai Zihao encontered after being rescued from his abusive relationship was a 12 year old girl who he was only willing to speak to because she wouldn't r*pe him (he was in a very vulnerable place). As it turns out, she is an adult man posing as a child, forming the secondary couple with Bai Zihao when he gets Bai Zihao drunk and r*pes him. This is presented as his romantic pursuit of Bai Zihao.
This scarily mirrors Bai Zihao's first abusive relationship with Jin Feiren where characters envied his "happy relationship" as Daoist companions with his abuser, as now readers ship him with his second abuser.

Reading this novel really showed me how terrible s*xual assault is. The novel portrayed how horribly it affected the male lead's mental state.

How it caused him to have severe mysophobia.

How dirty he felt himself to be.

... more>> How self-depreciating he became.

It took not 5 chapters, not 10 chapters, but more than a hundred chapters of this novel for him to put it behind him. Throughout the story, he still had relapses of his trauma. It never left him as long as he remembered.

Regardless, the main character has always stayed by his side for it. He takes care of him, always tries to heal him of both physical and mental wounds. Physical wounds healed quickly, but mental wounds are hard to remove. I'll type less here to avoid spoiling.

Anyway I'll give the story a 4.5/5. -0.5 because the story is a bit boring at certain chapters, and sometimes small actions go unexplained, but it's rare. It's a good story that you should really read till the end because some early story points in ~ch50 can be explained in ~ch100+. The ending was really satisfying for me. After all the turmoil, they finally got to enjoy their hard-fought tranquility. It is a HE, to love for eternity. <<less

General thoughts: Definitely check it out, but it is one of those stories you have to stick around with for a bit (30+) chapters to be good.

MC is a very likeable character who will make you groan at times with his denseness, but it’s never to the point of unbearableness. He’s also stubborn and kind, but not that much of a pushover. Plus, a giant bonus is that he is very sexy!

ML is actually quite three-dimensional in my eyes. His backstory explains a lot about his character, and while he... more>> does have the classic ‘wanting to possess and is only nice to MC, ’ it makes sense once you learn of his backstory.

Flaws: The story does drag on in the middle of the latter parts. The beginning and ending are incredibly strong, but due to how bloated I was sitting through the latter part of the story, I couldn’t help but not care much. It doesn’t drag the story in my eyes, but I did have to force myself to read the last few chapters. <<less

I absolutely LOVE this novel. I read this novel a while a go but I still remember cleary and I'm bored so I've decided to write reviews... anyways. The relationship between the main characters is so sweet. Unlike a lot of bl novels this novel doesn't sexualize r*pe or abuse, one of the main characters is a victim of r*pe and the novel really shows how that effected him. Also I love how this novel ties everything up, you find out the reason for everything. This novel made me cry... more>> so many times. Its so good I love this novel. <<less

Let me just say, this is absolutely the best danmei novel I've ever read.

I love how much the story diverts from your average danmei novel, and it almost makes a mockery of the stereotypical "delicate flower" MC and "yandere" ML's you see in a lot of other novel's I've read. Although, the ML DOES end up being a yandere, he recognizes that his fantasies aren't acceptable in any way and it's quite fitting for him as a character and his trauma to react this way. Our poor ML, who has... more>> suffered so much, isn't portrayed as this huge dominant man, and instead is an earth-shattering delicate beauty (which unfortunately ends up being his downfall). I like how you can't tell who the gong and shou are just by looking at them, and their appearances end up being a plot point of the story and their grievances and ultimate insecurities (you really don't see that often!).

I've seen a lot of reviews bashing the MC, but I truly have no idea why! I get that he is a little slow before realizing who he ACTUALLY saved, but the system was basically nonexistent at this point of the story so it's easy to see how he got confused.

I actually think it's quite poetic that even in the presence of the REAL protagonist, he chose to save the ML time after time (after all the reboots) and it was quite hilarious that the system got so angry at our MC.

It's quite refreshing how the story handles the ML's trauma and it's done in such a way that even comforts the readers. That does not mean in ANY way that this is a fluff story, it is FAR from it. I was a bit surprised at first since I have a habit of never reading CW's, but READ THEM, and DON'T be like me. If you're fine with them, absolutely read it, you won't regret it. <<less

This is seriously, the most incredible novel ever! I can't even deal with how empty I felt when I finished it. The author totally knows how to mess with your emotions, you know? The characters are so real – I swear, I was legit feeling everything they were going through. The story was a rollercoaster of emotions, and I'm just here thinking about it non-stop. It's, like, a total masterpiece, and I can't even with how amazing the writing is. Seriously, my heart can't handle it!😭

However, I wish there... more>> was an extra chapter for An Long – it would've been the perfect cherry on top! Even though it's a bit regretful, all in all, it was such a great experience reading it during school break. 🫶🫶 <<less
