Pros :

The MC is good at first. Hating the ML with all her might while still having her iq. The ML is a yandere for sure but a tad disturbed in his head. I'm totally fine with yandere ML but... For god's sake, MC is only 17/18.

(I believe that even yandere people should still have a bottom line. I'm all for yandere ML that cares about their partners' feelings and opinions. I root for yanderes who like their partners but they couldn't be together so they tried various means... more>> to be together with them within acceptable ways.) I love and strive from reading yandere MLs and dogblood novels, this novel however... let's just say the ML is lacking.

I like how the second ML has a nice ending and the kinda redemption arc for the other sister. Also the hound dogs are kinda cute.

Cons :

Author shouldn't make MC return to ml. MC is way too good for him. ML could cry himself to bed, let him rot in hell idc. If anything, author should abuse the ML more. As bad as the ML is, he isn't as bad as the ML in 'who is the prey'. <<less

I don't care about his sob story of how he retrieveed her from her own world. And mind you that was a very selfish decision. Girly finally got a break from his obsession. Then he' ll just pull her back because he wanted her with him.

In my opinion, this is quite well written. Usually with dog blood plot, I'll end up confused after reading. The twist is good too.

Her memory of him killing her was fabricated by the original Nuonuo. So she only really transmigrated twice not thrice.

Qui Li is Nuonuo's endgame. As if it was suddenly forgotten how he jerked off of her sleeping form and he actually r*ped her. The f*cker also touched her while she was suspectedly knocked out by him with sleeping drugs. Oh, he took advantage of the situation too when her eyes were injured. He literally watched her take off her bra before going to sleep. All of these while she's still a MINOR not even of legal age in China.

Hell even their marriage was forced. She was not of age and she's drunk.

I would have liked it more if when she returned to her own world became the ending. That's what I call a HE. Maybe the only time I was happy for the characters was when Hang Rui can finally have a brighter future and also when Song Lian had a character development. <<less

First of all I have a couple things to say. I enjoyed this story for several different reasons. One the emotional rollercoasters. There were several points in the story where the author could have stopped but didn't. In many stories this would just feel like they might just be pulling the story out but in the end it worked out. The ending was satisfying for me to an extent but I just wish that there was more. (I always want sort of a small after chapter just to show that... more>> years later everything is still good.)

Many people may not like the ending nor the male lead but to be honest I understand that. This is the type of story I would hate if it happened in real life. (I know that things like this happen in real life and I hate people who are abusive.) The male lead has a sort of small redemption at the end and an explanation for everything.

Summary of redemption

The Male lead never killed her in the first place. The first time she transmigrated he didn't kill her but it was rather an illusion created by the original owner of the body. He also gave up his life to see her one more time and asked her to kill him so he could go back to her world. He wanted her to be happy but he also wanted to be selfish and see her one more time.

If you didn't like the ML you could stop there at around 180. If you want to see the real ending I encourage you to continue. Also another place you could stop is around 160 I believe.

That was when she first transmigrated back home without her memories. So it still feels a little incomplete but if you wish not to continue I understand.

Please read the tags before you read this story. If after seeing the tag and you are uncomfortable, don't read and come to leave a bad review. I agree with SSKF's review. You need to be an open-minded person to read this story. The plot was tight and I kept pressing the button for the next chapter. There was one twist after another but these were not revealed after the last five chapters I think. I don't agree with some reviewers about a twist to make ML pitiful in order... more>> to get a happy ending. I think the author planed this for a HE from the beginning so if you are not happy about this twist, again don't waste your time to read it and leave a bad review.

FL had a prejudice against the ML because of the manipulation from the original owner of her body. If FL had no prejudice and with her intelligence, she would be able to talk some sense to the ML. Also, the ML tried to redeem himself and knew what he did was completely wrong and selfish.

Until near the end due to the extreme circumstance does she accept.

I wonder if its a reflection of recent Chinese society attitudes towards females that such a plot exists.

IMO the key point was Female consent. ML was a pyschopath, but even if he was "normal", the FL was never obligated to love him back if he wasnt her type. She owed no one an explanation as to who she liked or disliked and why.

He basically put the world at her feet, but FL wasnt interested no matter what and thats the point. Its her right and freedom of choice.

This value system is refreshingly liberating for women. It is a long overdue reckoning after 1000 yrs of confucian oppression in China.

Hope there are more stories like this one. <<less

I have mixed feelings about this story.. There's too much angst and too little sweetness..

I didn't like the FL or the ML.. ML is too overbearing and the FL is too heartless.. But overall the story was interesting enough to read through till the end..

Other novels by this Author are still way much better..

Sadomasochistic slice of life dog blood story between a narcissistic hedonistic neurotic psychopathic mu*derous CEO and an innocent 18-year-old who's witty and smart but unfortunate enough to be trapped by someone like that.

Overall a 4-star on the psychological warfare between the leads, hate the ending. The romantic aspect was appalling. There ain't none.
Obsession and pure crazed unfiltered obsession.

The author tanked the MC's IQ and EQ in the end.
She had a very good understanding of him throughout the story, but in the redemption arc for ML, she completely lost that witty keenness about his distorted self.

For me, the story ended at 154. I'm happy with that.

In the very very end it was still a crazed obsession, it doesn't matter if she loved him or not, with his last breath, he'd still cling to her regardless if she wants to or not.
The way author reasoned that if it wasn't for the initial first impression (illusion of ML mu*dering her) she might've fallen in love with him which I highly doubt. He was only treating her nicely after the horrible 400 days. He realized how to treasure MC at the cost of MC's happiness and sanity. Those weren't an illusion. Those were her real experiences, her real suffering. But the author went DELETE on it.

If they had to start over, he'd be still treating her terribly to realize he mustn't.

This is a batsh*t insane story but you seriously need to read it to the end. It was a good thing someone in the reviews warned me not to go into the story thinking it’s a romance, because it’s really not. It’s more a story about obsession. But there is a huge plot twist near the end that made me look at the ML in a different light. I still don’t like the ML, he’s awful, but I also pity him. I definitely cried for him. The story leaves you... more>> feeling complicated and for that alone it was worth reading. But I understand why many people couldn’t make it through to the end. The story is extremely problematic and reprehensible and I will never condone nor excuse the ML’s behavior in any way. The female lead is so cold hearted and untouched. After the realization that ML didn't actually killed her and it's just the soul of the original body that manipulated her memory to make her hate our lovely desperately cute male lead. But anyway the ending is that she chose the male lead and decide that she will not return to her own world and gooood ML is so touched like he didn't expect that she will choose him over her world!

How can these 30 yr old guys find spin the bottle "very funny"? Why did she need Hang Rui in order to escape? She was already outside the house and at school, she could escape any time? If she really wanted to follow the plot, then why bother planning to hold back the dogs to prevent them from harming Hang Rui? And how out of character (her real character) was it to curse and slap the ML the moment he seemed like he was unconscious? Author keeps saying she's really terrified of ML but she has the balls to do that? And how 2d is her seatmate Lu Xiang? Just because she found her cute when she accepted her potato chips, suddenly she likes her unconditionally?

I binged it. The relationship is depicted really well. It's unhealthy and our girl ain't f*cking here for it. There's hatred, anger, disgust, fear and despise. Both the FL and the ML are FIERCE!

They end up together and despite everything, if you can be bothered to read till the end, you'll be damn glad too that they ended together. Bless them.

No stockholm here.

geez I really love novel with tag possesive character. I like this novel from start to last. I really like it when ML is soo domineering, I guess I am abnormal haha. I like novel with fluffy style but its more exciting if it has bit of dark side.. Haha.. Over all 5 5 star.. Hmm.. I really dont know why others give low rating, so everytime I am finding novel I focus on tag, some novel I read it only has lower than 3.0 rating but it really good... more>> for me. Anyway everyone has their own cup of tea.

Anyways just want to share it has extra chapter in mtl for those who has not yet had enough of this so lovable novel hihi <<less

I'll give this a 5 star. Even tho it's a bit dark for me. This is not the usual novels I read. I like light fluffy novels. But this one. I even read it till the end without even putting it down.

The feeling I get while waiting for the reaction of the ML, Everytime the FL intentionally piss him off. My heart thumps everytime like I was watching a suspense movie. 😨 Like, girl. You're dead!

At the beginning I was sh*t scared with the ML too. But the twist is... more>> so not expected. ML loves the FL so so much. 😌 It's a happy ending.

As I was reading this in the middle of the story. I though it's so messy. How can this be HE.

1 for the Translators merit. 1 for the interesting quote. 1 for myself for reading this novel. I binge read in less than a day.

let's talk about ML, he a physcopath, neurotic, crazy bastard and his whole being is too illogical.

MC, like I can't even, her character setting is a mess, she is all over the place. Ugh I can't even start.

And Bro from the beginning to the end of the Novel, I really don't know how a flower somehow became a star, the twinkle twinkle little star in the sky type. I can't make the heads or tails out of what happened. I even suspect that the Author somehow changed the Genre midway.

Also why we everything so conveniently illogical when need be and embarrassingly Dog-blood when need be. Are Heavens, Tiandao, World Rules, Will, Luck, Laws just some random cabbages by the roadside!!??!!! [ If you are hungry go pluck it up to make salad or soup, when bored just use it as a ball. WTF 😒!!!

The only Thing I liked and felt decent was this last few sentences

Reading a couple of chapters in, from FL's pov, you will be driven to hate and disgust the ML. Eventually you'll think to stop reading the novel altogether.

But I urge you to keep going as you will be showered with some sweetness and angst.

Overall, I loved the novel but I'm quite not content with how the story concluded, thus, my 4-star rating. I just wish there was a more satisfying and beautiful scene before it ended.

Definitely not a story for the faint of heart. It is literally a story of the MC being held captive and controlled, trying to escape and her slow descent into insanity and the so-called neurotic behavior she accused the male lead of while Stockholm syndrome is taking effect. It is definitely a page turner if you don't mind the subject matter.

I feel like the author did a pleasant job of connecting the audience emotionally with the characters. I feel the main character's plight of being forced to accompany the person... more>> she hates the most and just wishing to escape every minute of the day from a madman. But at the same time, I understand the male lead's deranged behavior of wanting to possess her, seeing her as the only light in his life and the only person that makes him feel human.

Their tangled relationship is definitely entertaining, especially watching the main character slowly turn into someone like the male lead, the person she hated the most. Calculating. Manipulative. Paranoid even. While the twist was a bit abrupt and fell a bit flat for me, I still enjoyed the novel. It's 5 stars from me.

I've seen a lot of back and forth in the reviews with opinions on the characters and I can only say that that's all they are, characters. The author had an idea of what kind of characters she wanted to write about (a borderline psych0pathic man and his captive) and I feel like it was well executed. <<less

This..... was a ride to read to say the least.

Now I've come prepared for the tags and all, but really? It was an HE?! Why...

It was good until chapter 153, if only it ended there, I would've given it around 4 stars. But no, they had to add all the other bs and have such a half-hearted ending, Quite disappointing, really.

FL is self-aware of the world she's transmigrated to and that the ML is a full blown neurotic, yet still proceeds to make some dumb decisions. To be fair though, she's just 18 years old, so you can look over that.

ML is... well a shitty person overall. Cliche cold-blooded, arrogant CEO. Manipulative, apathetic.... I could go on and on about this but main thing is: he becomes 'pitiful'.

Suffers bone-breaking, skin-peeling pain for 6 years all to find Nuonuo. Nuonuo is touched. Decided to pay him back then falls in love with him (?)

Her first transmigration isn't actually real. It was an imaginary hallucination caused by the og Nuonuo. But even if the first was fake, odors this mean his actions in her second one was justified? No. It isn't. He did some pretty horrible stuff that should never be forgiven, but the MC is soft-hearted so that's all fine.

The plot was mediocre and the author really paints the ML later as the 'pitiful one'. But it's all fine since they live happily ever after. Really would've loved chapter 153 as the ending, but hey, we can't all have what we want. <<less

So I read up to the latest translated chapters. The story is translated very nicely, thank you to the translators.

Honestly, the plot had potential and could've been a real thrilling and satisfying read. But the way it was executed was mediocre, for the first 20 or so chapters I was like what's going on? Like how is this allowed? Some may think "well it's fiction and the ML is crazy and rich and blah blah so it's allowed" which was what I thought at first too. But soon after I... more>> changed my mind.

What I am referring to is the fact that the ML is "Mary sue" (?) he's unrealistically powerful which makes it annoying. Like no it's impossible for someone who is that powerful, he's written to be capable of changing anything. Like yeah I can accept that he's rich but I would've like to see a more realistic portrayal of a businessman, using his resources/high IQ to silently control the FL. I wanted to see him be manipulative and cunning. Instead it's over the top that it makes one laugh.

Moreover, it would've been nice if the ML encountered setbacks in his plans (that always went his way) like the intervention of the police? You can't tell me that in this world, there is no one or no entity that can stand up to the ML or at least push him back temporarily. Sure he's the ML of the original novel but it's just disappointing and makes the whole story feel bland/childish.

The thing I dislike the most is his back story. I laughed, literally laughed when the Aunt Chen and the grandfather told the FL, the ML's "childhood". Maybe I read too fast or incorrectly but his childhood does not justify or explain why he became so neurotic and evil. Was he born like that? Perhaps this will be explained later but I felt it should've been explained early in the story so the characters could feel more real.
Oh yeah, the characters are so 2D and boring.

Thus, this is why I give it a 3/5. It has potential, a good novel will literally have you on your toes feeling the anxiety of the FL and feeling as if the walls are closing in. It should make you (reader) feel helpless and understand why the FL can't escape with REALISTIC reasons. But the novel falls short of doing that, ya you feel bad for the FL but that's it.

It makes me so dissatisfied how is the solution set up for this so-called romance to take away the painful experiences she had with the male lead away so she can get with him without those restricitons?! What the HELLLLLLL!

Overall, this story is not my cup of tea. Too bittersweet.. I also fast-forwarded to some chapters mid story. The stars rating is mainly for the female lead, the translation team who has worked hard, and the 'no-less-painful' thing male lead experienced near the ending.
