The story hurts a lot! The pain the MC experienced legit hurt a reader like me; and also ML's pain. It's quite realistic too, the ML could've just foregone the revenge because of love. But he didn't, and that's because of his identity. The MC may seem weak and despite being an emperor things still happened. But it's realistic, he is someone from a different time and place, despite being there for how many months or years, still that isn't where he grew up. If you think about it, his... more>> fate was already sealed the moment he transmigated, so what can he do about it? What they went through wasn't nonsense. I admire the fact that they were able to find something as beautiful as love in that harsh environment they were place with. I'm glad that they had each other. I love the story. after reading the whole story, I gotta say, it was pretty great! :D The MC is hilarious and the writing style is very candid especially in the beginning. It seems a bit whimsical with how casual MC is as emperor and his interactions with everyone. I think the whole novel wrapped up nicely, tying up loose ends and some feel good moments to make up for heartache—like the modern day extras are so?? Good??? Imagining the whole squad in modern day was just exquisite mwah Plus, the background stories of the characters really make up the novel~ the villains aren't as unreasonable/brainless, though there are some bad eggs tossed in still

i didn't finish the last fanwai but from where I stopped, it was still going good! the only big con for this novel is probably the Main Misunderstanding™ 囧 it took so many chapters to settle it though, to be fair, the chapters are quite short lol I was rolling around "angered to death", so to speak when MC contracts "I can't say it because it'll hurt ML" disease and ML with "it's better to let MC free and be happy" 囧囧囧 guys.. Stop!!!!! the ending was really satisfying! I was going to settle for what it was originally gonna be but I'm glad there was one more way~

when MC's body was pretty much destroyed by the traitor I thought that was it, ML will have a broken MC for life! BUT THEN!!! The xiao yu'an of the novel world becomes a handy vessel and MC is reborn once again after committing su*cide later which ML happened to see (cry)

Just started but woah the introduction pacing was swift! Got most of the information we needed on the MC's original life lol the writing is to the point and hilarious but at the moment, I'm surprised they haven't accused MC of being possessed with how casual he is as the new emperor 😂

after reaching 105, the story is still going swiftly!!! But!!! The misunderstandings!!!! They never stop!!!! 囧 Oh, my heart aches for MC and ML shfjfuehfkdhfd

the writing is splendid, even if some scenarios become ridiculous but still restrained 😂 it gets hard to read with the never ending misunderstandings that can be solved in one page but still great!

Really a good book

Althought I hope the misunderstandings to resolve quickly but its own pace was also good

I cried the most when hong xi died, what did she do wrong.

li wuding also died even till they found xie chungui in the battlefield I still felt a little hope that he was alive.

Just maybe someone save him.

Although their are 3 harmonious side couples till c125

All of them are v sweet, honest and lovely.

The story gets better and better as it goes on.

How their feelings grow is so moving and MC had to be one of the best MC I've ever seen.

ML is also very sweet too and how each of them try to do best for each other is worth reading until the end.

Side couples' stories are amusing to read as well. Especially, ML's wives' story.

I totally recommend this novel.

At first this story seemed to be a fluffy romance. Haha. Big mistake. It has a lot of angst and my heart hurts from this. It’s sad that there are a lot of misunderstandings because of the lack of communication.

When the kingdom feel, what is with all the misconceptions that the MC has? He didn’t even talk with the ML and he thought the ML hates him and than tries to kill himself. Like wtf. Talk more, my friends.

This is such an amazing story. I loved every single moment of it. MC and ML are so good to eachother.

I cried a few times when li wuding "died" and xie chungui went to find his body and ended up traumatized and with a mental disorder. I shipped them sm :' (. But then it turns out li didnt die but xie never found out and then li actually dies fr. So heartbreaking omg. Only thing I wish would change abt this novel is that xie and li get a HE. But I think the author did really well with making us love the characters so much so that I actually tear up when they die.

So when I decided to pick up reading this novel I didn't read any review nor tags just a little glimpse of description and open it quickly. That was simply because I was in quick search of reading sth and this was so long time on my reading list but I always picked sth more famous and well known for reading. And when I started reading I instantly fall in love with it (I literally fall in love with everything I read that's normal)

The way president Xiao tried to... more>> take care of thing at first made me laugh my gut out. It was so funny I wasn't expecting a comedy at all I say I didn't check the tags. So well I thought this might as well be all comedy happy ending but then somewhere after things started to get messy I was shockedddddd 0.0 (I haven't received this much of roller-coaster of emotion even at my monthly cycle) the author went clearly ohooo~~~you had your fun let's meet reality now x/ and the harsh reality hit my face and ML at the same time.

when xiao YuAn was forced to send military thinking that he can save his country the way he shoulder all those burden till the end. When he kneel on the snow to admit defeat, the way that even ppl didn't recognise how hard he worked to save the ppl... That wasn't mentioned once that people would thanks him or gossip behind his back about how he surrounded himself to save the people. It was all too heart wrecking that I cried my gut out. Why no one tried to understand him not even the ML only he himself shoulder everything to the end till he committed su*cide AGAIN]

Honestly I suffered so much from the miscommunication in this novel if they have just been more honest with there words if he said everything with that smile on his face. Wahhh this novel is so good im so sad it came to an end TvT anyways its a complete 5 star for me >< I thought the tragedy was just a slight slap in face but its a whole metal hand slapping me in face!! Im also sad for general li and chunggui they died for there country and cant afford that happy ending but atleast they are together now. I wish yan heqing and xiao yuan a happy ending but the tragedy tag cant be underestimated tehe!>.<

Premise is simple:

A young president of a company commits su*cide after receiving a cancer diagnosis. He has a younger brother who has some pretty serious mental and emotional issues who tells our protagonist to die, and he willingly complies, only to find himself in the world of his favorite webnovel, which is about a gay young prince and the various complications he goes through as eventually his country is overtaken by another country, but before that, he has to figure out how to bring the protagonist of this stallion novel (his words) together with his various wives.

The prince (now a young emperor) is known for being a lascivious wastrel.

He finds himself intrigued by one of the enemy country's hostages and does everything he can to get him together (the hostage is the ML) with his various wives.

Only to find that they're slowly falling in love.

But conspiracies and nationalism rips them apart, and an attempted coup doesn't help.

Through various incarnations and lives, their love and devotion are fascinating to watch unfold.

Just beware that it's darkest before the dawn and you most likely will have your heart and guts ripped from you if you love a character too much. And they'll drive you bonkers with their communication skills, but endure. But it's also very, very funny. <<less

I'm still at chapter 36. At first I noticed the similarity of the plot in the manga "To Be or Not To Be" but put away my suspicions because of the comments saying different things. But as I read this novel.. the plot is not really different.😂 some people said that this novel doesn't have romance between male leads. I still need to check because in the manga there is. I'm disappointed in MC's character development but I sometimes found him cute and funny too. I like the fact that side characters are not brainless and original harem members got an happy ending too.

ML is my favourite!!!

I won't marry in this life if I can't find a man like ML!!

Plot is just so-so. MC is a CEO but so dense. But I give this novel 5 stars just for ML alone.

So the things that were good about this story. The MC had a nice depth to his character and worked hard to connect with the ML who was nicely rounded as a character. There were several interesting side characters that were well written as well. The 'history' elements didn't get too overwhelming or difficult to follow so the plot kept a steady pace.

Problems:

The book is supposed to be "real" now for the MC, but there are still events happening that even he points out defy any explanation and have a... more>> heavy handed author feel. This is trying to have it both ways which rarely works in the best written stories. It doesn't work here.

At a certain point, the dog's blood events seem to keep coming just for the sake of squeezing extra chapters out of the story. And at the ML's expense. Too often he's left in the dark about the MC and is left to suffer for long stretches of time. This would break most people if it happened once, let alone multiple times.

After about 180 chapters, I was tired of the up and down, I just kept reading to see how the author managed to pull it together in the end. I give it 3.6 stars because it's a good translation, but a lukewarm recommendation. This is really a story for people who want to drown in angst to the point of ridiculousness. <<less

please read further than early chapters to enjoy the novel! I understood people’s disappointment with MC’s character but if you go past chapter 30 at least, you’ll see his personality to be more palatable and likeable.

his characterisation I feel is the ideal plot driver because many things that are occurring in the current timeline are attributed to him not being like the previous (original scum) novel emperor and having qualities that although show his naïveté and non-chalance, he still expresses empathy, which ends up outweighing his “annoying” or childish behaviour.

Both MC and ML have a very sad life. I really wish they went into more details about ML's modern life. It said that he took revenge on his father but it never really explained how or what he did. Because of what happened to MC as a kid, he's very suicidal. I'm happy that towards the end, he's willing to take his life more seriously.

I love ML's devotion to MC. Even though ML knows what he must do, he still chooses MC regardless of what others said.

I think MC's... more>> character development could have been a bit better. I felt like when he fallen hard for ML, he was like a total different person than before. Also, I got attached to some of the side characters and was saddened by their ending. However, the author did give us better ending for those characters in the extra chapters in a different world.

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel even though I did question few of the stuffs. And yes, the misunderstanding could have been solved earlier but at least it didn't drag out forever like other novels.

There is a manhua (comic book) version too! Still ongoing though, but already towards the end. It's beautifully drawn and just as good as the novel but not as dark as the novel. <<less

I really didn't expect this to be as good as it was. What started out as what seemed like a silly, fun, whimsical read ended up making me cry. The character building was exceptional and you really can't help but start to care about each of the characters as you get deeper into the story. Even the cannon fodder minor antagonists are portrayed as real people with complex feelings and motives, rather than cookie-cutter villains.

The main relationship is such a breath of fresh air, healthy and based on mutual respect.

For... more>> anyone who doesn't like how the MC treats his new world as a fictional playground, that does come back to bite him in a pretty tragic way. Like I said - great character building. <<less

I binge this in 3 days. It's hard to divide time with work and other hobbies but this story worth it. Haha~ I actually found the manhua first and read until main CP's 1st parting. Haven't continue from there since I lost my saved links due to formatting my PC but absolutely delighted when I found the novel 3 days before. Also, BL and GL in a book together? Double the happiness~~ XD

A story of a self-proclaimed XYA (MC), the 'Tyrannical President' of a big company who transmigrated into... more>> a body of a high-status person in an ancient world of a novel he finished reading back in modern world. At first it was headache but when YHQ (ML) is thrown into the mix, chaos ensue... well, in a kinda comedic way. The density of XYA will make Newton sighs in defeat; that brain of a-tyrannical-president-full-with-insertknowledgehere is practically useless (eh, there are times it serves its purpose) as XYA skull is too thick in regards of YHQ's feelings towards him. Still, this is where the comedy shines. Huhu~

Now, wipe your tears from the laughter and prepare the tissue for tears from the angst afterwards. The author's knife's cuts will hurt. Really hurts. The devotion of main CP and side CPs towards their other half is amazing. Side CPs and characters will not serve as only 'side' but part of main points that will contribute a lot of cuts (and cuteness) in the story. Even though in the end we will see their true feelings to the choices they made and the extra is making XYA (and me) feels better, it still hurts.

The switching between comedy and angst blended quite nicely in this novel. The running gags of XYA stuttering when shy, spewing up modern stuffs no one else understand but him at random times (which prompt others to think there's a loose screw in his head XD) and singing are gold XD Still, I'm gritting my teeth in frustration; XYA, stop being too into the original plot and both of you please, please just communicate to clear all the misunderstanding between both of you....I think I'm into misunderstanding troupe. Lol.

Phew. That was long. Ahaha. This is a fun novel to read; I like it. The extras not only tell the life after main chapters but tell stories in-between them as well as things not explained but we need/want to know. Or at least for me. Ehe. XYA is a good example of 'don't judge a book by it's cover' character. YHQ is one of my favorite ML from all the danmei I've read and currently reading so far. He's just... -sigh in admiration- Thank you to the translator (s) who picked this book. The explanation of terms is helpful and TN notes you left in every chapter made me huehuehue~... Okay. And (I'll admit) cry as well on the angst parts XD <<less

So good. The ending is so great. At first, the author bully us, but not so long😂😂😂😂. Then the author lets all our wish for the MC and ML come true 🤧🤧🤧🤧.

To those people that give low rating: my opinion is this is not the typical over bearing president that you want, it becs MC had state early that this is not his characteristics as over bearing president, he only act like one.

They went through a lot. Both MC and ML, they did great, ah I'm just so happy for them. After all those things that happened throughout their life, after surviving a life and death situation and bein hunted by others, they still end up happily together. I'm proud of them.

Don't hesitate to read this amazing novel, it's worth it. I loved this and you will love it too.

I avoided this novel because of the title, but once I got passed my prejudice it turned out to be a gem.

The plot is not superfluous and the content is not stretched. Cliffhangers and turning points are just right. I am not going to spoil anything but be ready for giggles, sadness and smut.
