Description
Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.“I went to prison for ten years for him, and not once did he come to see me.”
While he was explaining the questions to me, I always admired the view of his side profile, seeing how the sunlight would hit his fluttering eyelashes, casting faint shadows just beneath his irises.
Every time I was entranced by his good looks, I would marvel at whether his biological parents were fools, because how could a normal person abandon such a handsome and healthy boy.
From then on, I believed the deep affection I couldn’t push aside for him was just the attachment I felt for an older brother, a dependency born from the lack of a father figure in my life.
Until the appearance of Qi Yang.
“The only difference between me and Sheng Min Ou’s harasser, is probably the fact that I call Sheng Min Ou ‘Older brother’”

When reading this, being open-minded and also giving out fair judgment. I've met a lot who tried this story but dropped it due to the ML being a psychopath and ultimately babying the MC which baffles me since the MC is obviously also sick in the head. Both main characters are crazy and readers should not be too biased on the MC just because he's the MC. Patience too since the beginning with the main couples being off to a rocky start might turn off most, but it will definitely pay off in the end. And what I mean by "rocky start" does not mean bad writing, but just the very toxic dynamic between the couple that was absolutely needed to establish to the readers just where they both stand and think about each other after the 10 years in prison (but tbh, this hooked me more in the story). Now onto actual details: Characters MAIN CHARACTER
- Obsessive and has stalker behavior, just like what the story description says, there is almost no difference between him and ML's stalker. He is NOT a perfectly good person but that doesn't mean he is outright evil also. MC actually leans more to the good side being the "will not go on their way to help, but will help if needed, " but his moral compass just disappears whenever his the ML is included due to his love and obsession. I absolutely love him because of this! It is very interesting to read someone with a "normal" mind but goes totally haywire when his brother is around. He is not a complete psychopath since he actually cares and feels for the people he is connected to, an example is...
his mother's death where he grieved, him caring for his friends and helping them solve it voluntarily
- I'm not really the type of reader who's obsessed with the characters having upright moral compasses -- what makes me invested in characters are their complexity and how they react to things and situation that they are put in. I find it weird how most readers that drop this story seem to "baby" him and think like he's some sort of "victim" when in fact he's actually the one harassing his brother, except for
the r*pe part since obviously he's the victim that time
- Psychopath. He is your typical perfect dude that is absolutely blunt, except he's a psychopath. ML is NOT a good person and one shouldn't also expect him becoming one, because that is already his nature (and there is also some reasons to his actions which we will come to understand). He is unfeeling, unempathetic, and indifferent to people -- with the MC and MC's father being the only exceptions. He KNOWS that he is different and is aware of him being a "monster." In contrast to the MC being a "normal" person but becomes a "monster" due to the ML, the ML is a "monster" that tries to become "normal" due to the MC and
their father.
They are also fun to read and has served their purpose in moving the story. Some of the characters have are also sick in the head or either have issues -- I'm looking at you Qi Yang. But whether you like or hate these characters, they still made a significant part in the story (such as MC's mother, Qi Yang, etc.) Overall I liked them and they aren't just 2D background characters that most stories seem to regard side characters as. They aren't those 1-brain cell type of people and do have personal thoughts and lives outside the MC and ML which I really appreciate. Plot The premise of the MC committing manslaughter for ML and then staying in prison for 10 years while ML never visited him is SO GOOD. The start of the story is already when MC has gotten out of the prison and is trying to piece his life back again but even so, he is still obsessed and in love with his brother.
Mysteries and some conflicts here and there. Nothing really much to say but it's very enjoyable and not forced. Speaking of forced, what seems weird to me is just the too convenient reveals like the...
him visiting the prison but never really having the courage to enter, Qi Yang's cousin and diary, his secret room, etc.
I liked the constant peeks of the past giving out information -- which we are not supposed to take at just face value since it will mislead most -- and how the pace felt very natural, neither being too fast nor dragging. What I personally felt off about was near the end and throughout, where it just seemed like there was not enough closure to actually close the book, especially when such a big thing just happened. We kind of never really got some closure about the ML's change in treatment to MC after the life-threatening event (I get that it must've shocked him very much) but I thought there would've been a much smoother transition, but I'm glad that ML's psychopathy never suddenly disappeared because that's just his nature, unlike some characters in other stories.
Overall, a job well done. Not in any way is this a perfect story, but this is one of the books that I will never forget about. I will forever be fond of the characters, especially the ML and MC. Just take note that this story is not for most readers, and if in the tags alone you realize that you will not like this story, DON'T READ IT. I just find it quite annoying how some readers complain about a certain element of the story that they don't like, and even if they see it in the tags, they still force themselves to read it. Some stories may not just be for you, but this story was definitely for me.
