“I went to prison for ten years for him, and not once did he come to see me.”

While he was explaining the questions to me, I always admired the view of his side profile, seeing how the sunlight would hit his fluttering eyelashes, casting faint shadows just beneath his irises.

Every time I was entranced by his good looks, I would marvel at whether his biological parents were fools, because how could a normal person abandon such a handsome and healthy boy.

From then on, I believed the deep affection I couldn’t push aside for him was just the attachment I felt for an older brother, a dependency born from the lack of a father figure in my life.

Until the appearance of Qi Yang.

“The only difference between me and Sheng Min Ou’s harasser, is probably the fact that I call Sheng Min Ou ‘Older brother’”

4.5/5. Lu Feng and Sheng min out are two mentally unstable guys that fall in love. Lu Feng (MC) is normal and friendly until it comes to Sheng, then he becomes extremely obsessive. Sheng (ML) is mentally unstable in all aspects, he's a bit psychotic. They're perfect for each other.

I dropped it first at chapter 10 or 11

I was so turned off by MC's lack of self respect, his stalkrish tendencies and ML's over the top rude, insulting behaviour.

Then I came back again with more patience, and I was hooked, so you have to hang in there so it starts making sense and it gets better later on, I haven't completed it yet, will wait for the translations. Translation are good👍

Also read the tags before reading the story, it's not a typical story both the characters have their own... more>> flaws, these flaws are also not normal lol.

Over all a good read. <<less

It's so refreshing to read a novel where the MC isn't innocent about his love, or obsession, really, and the ML is equally ruthless and enigmatic.

I love psychological drama novels, especially ones that keep me guessing and reading between the lines for the ML's feelings and the history with the MC. Both characters aren't exactly likable but are interesting to read. MC is shameless in his obsession over the ML. And then there is the questionable horror of the ML's... weird hobbies. A lot is in the dark and both... more>> characters are quite psychopathic and doing a tense dance around each other - well, mostly the MC, who is flirting with death. The tension is there and you can't help but wonder when and what it will take for the ML to snap. Their relationship is so fascinating in a warped way. <<less

Amazing! It was a bit uncomfortable to read about some topics, but the author did a great job conveying them. ML is so very interesting and someone I definitely grew to love as the plot played out. MC is super loving, kind, expressive, and strong, making him and ML the perfect pair. I loved how the everything was tied together as the story progressed so naturally and realistically without any extra drama or much misunderstanding. This was seriously a great read and the translator also did an amazing job.

I see many people giving this a low rating and with multiple reasons and I’m just writing this cause I’m salty but people who give this a 1 star because it’s abusive clearly have not read the tags it’s like going to tragedy looking for fluff. Second many people are angry at the MC for not understanding why he’s so “dumb” and doesn’t know when to give up. Are we reading the same story? Because clear neither the MC nor ML seem normal in the head for me and the... more>> MC loves ML to the point of obsession which is why he doesn’t care about himself as he does for the Ml. Just because you can’t understand the MCs actions because they seem s*upid to you however to the MC he’s completely willing to become a fool for the ML. Many people also hate how clingy the MC is and think it’s only right ML rejects him however it’s clear if u read to the end ML loved MC as much as MC does just not in how “normal” people would show it cause he’s not normal and his doesn’t understand the concept of love and wants to push MC away to reject this strange feeling he gets when he’s with MC.

Some people also hate how cruel and scummy the ML is however you can’t try to fit him in your standard when he clearly isn’t someone who goes by “normal” standards and it’s pretty obvious he’s a psychopath. In short they’re both crazy for each other in a way people consider abnormal. This story might not be for everyone but for someone who loves abuse like Me and our MC this novel feels almost perfectly written for this type of genre, with the right amount of fluff when needed and the pacing of the story didn’t feel rushed or dragged out to me. <<less

3.5 stars. Wow. I'm sure I made all sorts of faces while reading this. I went from thinking 'these two characters are batsh*t crazy and they deserve each other' to 'this is kind of fluffy and cute??'

This cnovel fully deserves the 'psychological' tag on NovelUpdates. Main character is a stalker and an unreliable narrator who thinks his adopted older brother hates his guts, and the main character will do absolutely anything for attention from his brother. The older brother seems to be a total scumbag but it's revealed that there... more>> is more to him than meets the eye.

The psychologies of the main character and the brother are part of the mystery and it's a fairly short story about their... romance? I kind of hesitate to call this romance because the relationship is so messed up. But kind of cute. Codependency is a better word to describe these two.

Side note that the novel is in first person which is quite jarring.

I picked this up because reading about toxic danmei relationships is like watching reality tv but damn this was wild. In the beginning, I felt like I was reading a dead dove fic on AO3 coz the main character is an obsessed stalker lol. I liked that there was a lot more going on than what it seemed but I'm not fully satisfied with the reveal. The older brother's 'abnormalcy' is never truly revealed, and I am skeptical than Lu Feng (protag) could flip so quickly from misunderstanding everything his brother does to suddenly seeing through his performance and having very accurate insights to his motivations.

I am however absolutely AMAZED at how I went from thinking this is the most toxic pair I've ever read about to thinking that they're cute. Although not much is unpacked! Things just suddenly shifted from masochistic and abusive to shameless x stoic 😂😂 <<less

Just finished binged reading!! This novel is great. The characters, the plot, everything is just super amazing. I love the MC and ML so much.

Now onto the ML and MC, instead of the ML, it's the MC that make it so hard for me to continue reading this novel in the first few chapters.

Even though I'm usually biased towards the MC of every novel I read, here I couldn't even get mad or hate the ML whenever he hurted the MC because.... the MC was literally asking for it. No,... more>> this is not some weird victim blaming bullshit, the ML repeatedly told the MC to leave him alone, and what does our MC do? He kept on stalking and harassing the ML.... Everytime the ML hurted the MC (be it physical or emotional) it was always in retaliation to MC harassing him.

Spoiler

Except for the r*pe part obviously

[collapse]

So yeah, while it's very painful to read the way the MC is being treated by the ML, at the same time I couldn't blame the ML for his actions either. <<less

I both like it and dislike it. Both MC and ML are unlikeable asf honestly but their relationship is interesting which kept me hooked so I kept reading until I got bored.

Now I personally enjoyed this and didn't didn't think it was angst until I read the comments (lol) and then it cl**ked since it was pretty abusive and toxic. But this is because I didn't feel any emotions reading this other than curiosity and I read this novel with a lot a cynicism.

Spoiler

This is precisely because I relate to the MC, some said he was s*upid and outright dumb, and I really couldn't agree more, but he's also not an idiot which is where I find the realism is. Everyone has dumb moments where their IQ drops and MC really isn't a flat character, he's very complex.

Now despite my dislike for MC, I can relate to him because he has some similar traits as me. He doesn't take sh*t from anyone (except for ML, he's pretty M for him honestly) and his thoughts of feeling sad and hurt by ML's actions despite knowing LOGICALLY he should let go and leave yet he can't, it feels VERY real to me because human emotions ARE that complicated.

No one person will ever be the same so you will never fully understand someone, that's why, understanding MC's love for ML and not letting go despite all this toxicity is something I scorn about when I read their love story but I also find it interesting so I continued.

ML on the other hand, you will definitely hate this ML when you read this story. He's very very unlikeable, however, I actually like him more than MC surprisingly.

When ML is first introduced, and started off very hostile to MC, I did not mind one bit because, the story starts off KNOWING MC and ML have a past with each other bc they're adopted brothers but it just hasn't been revealed yet.

I say, when I read through the first half, people were feeling sorry for MC (Lu Feng) while hating ML (Sheng Min Ou) for his actions against MC.

I personally couldn't understand why yall felt that way towards MC especially when ML told him to stay away from him from the beginning unless he wants to get hurt basically. Like yeah, go ahead and tell me that ML doesn't know how to express his feelings and that he's a psychopath & that MC can't let go of his obsession but quite literally, MC's actions of stalking and harassing ML is very annoying to say the least after getting out of prison & he even butted into ML's business (despite it helping) so I understand ML' s anger from his side as I would as well, no one likes uncalled for help, even if it ends up well in the end (it's not something people can control).

As for ML's past, he wasn't abused physically, but he was kind of mentally by MC's mum. Neglection, favouritism, unconcelaed disgust for ML, all these things DO have an impact on someone regardless whether they're a psychopath or not when they're young.

I won't say ML's actions weren't unreasonable and downright disgusting most of the times, because they were, I would've stabbed him with a knife if I was in MC's position.

However, it has been shown that ML disliked MC because of his childhood experience. Although MC didn't abuse him and was incredibly clingy but he was arrogant and took everything for granted, such as taking ML's stuff even tho it wasn't his. (however, I can understand how he thought this way bc his mum kept spoiling him and showing favoutism, and the child who gets all this will always feel like they deserve everything and will taunt/show off to the sibling that isn't favoured.)

I find it funny how some favoured child would try to get validation off the unflavoured child, especially when the unflavoured child is very mature and acts like he doesn't care, avoids you and doesn't bother with you, remaining a polite facade yet can't help but feel agrrieved and wronged when they don't like you as if you hadn't wronged then first 😒 double standards)

MC is just as horrible as ML, this you must remember. No matter how pitiful MC seems rn, he's just as bad but only in the romance department, aside from that, he's a very caring individual and is very normal which I like.

I feel like anyone can become abnormal when it comes to love while being perfectly normal when interacting with others in day to day life, that's human complexities for you. 💁‍♀️

Wouldn't you feel dislike for MC if you were in his position? (now for those who can't put yourself in someone else's shoes, you lack empathy and have low EQ, jk jk but no, seriously) ML was adopted first of all, and knowing that one of their adopted parents hates him to such a degree, which orphan wouldn't be scared of being abandoned? Even ML didn't want it, not for familial love, but for a safe place to help him grow up and survive in the world.

As for MC and ML in childhood together, ML appears to dislike MC very much. However, ML is very suspicious in certain areas but they're very subtle and it's difficult pinpoint. Hence, he is also another complex character.

Also, I would defo be like ML and...

Spoiler

keep a distance from MC if I found out he had the exact same feelings as Qi Yang. It was a smart move on ML's part to use MC to get rid of two troubles in one go, no matter how scummy the move was.

[collapse]

I feel like those who dislike the story don't like it because they only see the shallow parts of the characterization of the MC and ml.

It is stated in the novel itself that MC is a coward, yes, but he's also a strong individual. If he didn't fall for ML, MC would've lived a better life (honest opinion. Love wrecks havoc on life imo).

Everyone has those lame moments but MC just shows them when facing ML which is why you would hate him. He's weak against ML, he can't control himself around ML. This type of love disgusts me and it makes me feel like MC is constantly controlled by his emotions causing him to suffer to ML. The most perfect way to a toxic relationship if you love the wrong person basically.

Don't think ML raping MC is the same as other, let's say, supposedly 'light hearted' novels where they try to romanticise r*pe. Here they actually don't, even when MC was getting violated, it was never described in a romantic way to me, the author didn't even write MC moaned and liked it, the reason he liked it was because it is a biological reaction to either feel pleasure or pain from having s*x, depending on how well (or bad) it's done. Plus, the MC was drugged so it would feel good to him more than it would feel bad.

This is not excusing ML's actions, I absolutely despise r*pe and hate how MC treats his r*pe as some type of bargaining tool with ML (though it was a very reasonable choice as I would've done the same if I was in his position) and I despise how ML treats r*pe and MC as some type of venting tool.

Like who tf do you think you are??? ML KNEW MC was drugged and if he truly wanted to have s*x to vent, there was no need for to go the extra mile of tying him up 🙄 (rolls eyes) but I guess for ML, it was so he didn't have to look at the face of his brother by law as he f*cks him up.

Anyways, if you've read a lot of bl novels, both tr*sh and good, you can tell how ML's personality is NOT flat at all, his archetype of being cool and aloof isn't his only personality.

[collapse]

Oh yes, I also need to get this out of my system.

Spoiler

Luo Zhengyun you pieve of shit, go f*cking die in dirty ditch where you can get buried 6ft under the found covered in cement and have your d*ck castrated! Go suck my nonexistent d*ck you f*cking bastard.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I felt like writing this and since MC spent 10 years in prison for ML, he might as well just go all the way for him. If I spent that much time in prison only to see ML living well while I was over here feeling sh*t for myself, I would drag him down with me and never let him go hahaha.

[collapse]

Overall, my personal rating is a 3.5 but I rounded it down instead of up because I hate this novel because of MC and ml. I like the side characters, though they don't really shine but my favourite is Li Da Zhuang (I love how he's a paparazzi and it makes me want to read an MC as a paparazzi now, oooh maybe paparazzi x celebrity? Sounds fun) okay I'm getting off track now.

But yeah, this is a good read. I don't like angst, cuz I feel like all the drama is unnecessary and I feel like reading their emotions about how they feel is a waste of time when they could be doing better things like making their life more entertaining for me to read (since this is fiction) but the theme of this novel is angst so I got what I came for 💁‍♀️ since I was bored asf and couldn't find any comedy-drama novels to read. <<less

4.6 stars, I absolutely enjoyed the story.

In contrast to many, FGNL's beginning hooked me and I enjoyed it a lot -- in contrast to most being frustrated and tired of the MC and ML's behaviors and interactions. I really enjoyed their dynamics despite being so toxic and unhealthy, which is highlighted more in the earlier chapters (or do I just like hurting myself.)

Open-mind and patience.
When reading this, being open-minded and also giving out fair judgment. I've met a lot who tried this story but dropped it due... more>> to the ML being a psychopath and ultimately babying the MC which baffles me since the MC is obviously also sick in the head. Both main characters are crazy and readers should not be too biased on the MC just because he's the MC. Patience too since the beginning with the main couples being off to a rocky start might turn off most, but it will definitely pay off in the end. And what I mean by "rocky start" does not mean bad writing, but just the very toxic dynamic between the couple that was absolutely needed to establish to the readers just where they both stand and think about each other after the 10 years in prison (but tbh, this hooked me more in the story).

Now onto actual details:

Characters

MAIN CHARACTER
- Obsessive and has stalker behavior, just like what the story description says, there is almost no difference between him and ML's stalker. He is NOT a perfectly good person but that doesn't mean he is outright evil also. MC actually leans more to the good side being the "will not go on their way to help, but will help if needed, " but his moral compass just disappears whenever his the ML is included due to his love and obsession. I absolutely love him because of this! It is very interesting to read someone with a "normal" mind but goes totally haywire when his brother is around. He is not a complete psychopath since he actually cares and feels for the people he is connected to, an example is...
Spoiler

his mother's death where he grieved, him caring for his friends and helping them solve it voluntarily

[collapse]
But that makes it more intriguing since him acting almost like one is only when it comes to his brother.
- I'm not really the type of reader who's obsessed with the characters having upright moral compasses -- what makes me invested in characters are their complexity and how they react to things and situation that they are put in. I find it weird how most readers that drop this story seem to "baby" him and think like he's some sort of "victim" when in fact he's actually the one harassing his brother, except for
Spoiler

the r*pe part since obviously he's the victim that time

[collapse]

MALE LEAD
- Psychopath. He is your typical perfect dude that is absolutely blunt, except he's a psychopath. ML is NOT a good person and one shouldn't also expect him becoming one, because that is already his nature (and there is also some reasons to his actions which we will come to understand). He is unfeeling, unempathetic, and indifferent to people -- with the MC and MC's father being the only exceptions. He KNOWS that he is different and is aware of him being a "monster." In contrast to the MC being a "normal" person but becomes a "monster" due to the ML, the ML is a "monster" that tries to become "normal" due to the MC and
Spoiler

their father.

[collapse]
I am not trying to justify anyone of the ML and MCs actions but it will not change the fact that I absolutely adore him and the MC. All in all, he is a very interesting character.

SIDE CHARACTERS
They are also fun to read and has served their purpose in moving the story. Some of the characters have are also sick in the head or either have issues -- I'm looking at you Qi Yang. But whether you like or hate these characters, they still made a significant part in the story (such as MC's mother, Qi Yang, etc.) Overall I liked them and they aren't just 2D background characters that most stories seem to regard side characters as. They aren't those 1-brain cell type of people and do have personal thoughts and lives outside the MC and ML which I really appreciate.

Plot

The premise of the MC committing manslaughter for ML and then staying in prison for 10 years while ML never visited him is SO GOOD. The start of the story is already when MC has gotten out of the prison and is trying to piece his life back again but even so, he is still obsessed and in love with his brother.
Mysteries and some conflicts here and there. Nothing really much to say but it's very enjoyable and not forced. Speaking of forced, what seems weird to me is just the too convenient reveals like the...
Spoiler

him visiting the prison but never really having the courage to enter, Qi Yang's cousin and diary, his secret room, etc.

[collapse]
Overall, I loved the story very much.

Flow of the Story

Most are turned off by the rude treatment of the ML to the MC and MC's actions of going near the ML despite the harsh treatment -- but this is actually the reason why I was first hooked to the story since I at least know that the author is strongly establishing ML ad MC's opinions about each other which will then make us question "Why?"
I liked the constant peeks of the past giving out information -- which we are not supposed to take at just face value since it will mislead most -- and how the pace felt very natural, neither being too fast nor dragging. What I personally felt off about was near the end and throughout, where it just seemed like there was not enough closure to actually close the book, especially when such a big thing just happened. We kind of never really got some closure about the ML's change in treatment to MC after the life-threatening event (I get that it must've shocked him very much) but I thought there would've been a much smoother transition, but I'm glad that ML's psychopathy never suddenly disappeared because that's just his nature, unlike some characters in other stories.
Overall, a job well done.

>>

Not in any way is this a perfect story, but this is one of the books that I will never forget about. I will forever be fond of the characters, especially the ML and MC. Just take note that this story is not for most readers, and if in the tags alone you realize that you will not like this story, DON'T READ IT. I just find it quite annoying how some readers complain about a certain element of the story that they don't like, and even if they see it in the tags, they still force themselves to read it. Some stories may not just be for you, but this story was definitely for me. <<less

Spoiler

The story is told from MC's POV so ML seemed like a scum at first. But later it's revealed that he acted thay way as a means to push MC away. Bcs he thinks of himself as a monster and doesn't want to hurt MC

Still, I wasn't feeling bad for MC when ML was a scum bcs of how MC treated him in the past... yeah, he was no saint either

[collapse]

At first, I didn't like MC nor ML that much tbh, but I started to like them the more I progressed into the story.

There were 2 characters who annoyed the sh*t out of me. ML's harrasser (I won't say his name bcs he's disgusting tr*sh) and the mom... damn... the mom deserved anything bad that happened to her. She abused ML for NO reason!

The only thing that triggered me:

Spoiler

Animal cr*elty. Luckily, it wasn't commited by the main characters. And the guy that did it died

Please! What a book. What a book, I repeat. I'm on my knees, and I'm sobbing. I haven't felt this way towards a novel in months. I usually just drop it whenever the leads get together but in this one? I was merely begging for more. When I saw there were only around 70 chapters, I was extremely disappointed, also something I rarely ever feel.

Okay, first of all, I really loved the MC. Every emotion he felt, I could feel just as intensely. I loved how he loved, and how... more>> whipped he was for the ML, although in the initial chapters I was really skeptical about the ML and absolutely thought of him as a red flag, but after a while I could guess what most of his actions were hiding.

I love them as a couple too! I was scared it'd end up being a tragedy with how many times death was brought up and the overall dark theme of the book, and this is one of those rare feelings where I genuinely wanted them to survive and be with each other (usually, I wouldn't mind tragedies and separations that much) happily ever after. I loved all their fluffy moments. I just really really love them and this book. It has become one of my favourites. But of course, it's not for everyone, it's very angsty but the feeling of satisfaction is also exhilarating when the ML starts to reciprocate back. And of course, the writing of this book is topnotch and so is the translation. <<less

As most reviews say, this is not for everyone. I do find it to be not that bad despite the heavy themes, and I really like the characters' characteristics and quirks. The romance is a little slow/ non existent in the beginning bc the MC thinks that the ML hates him bla bla bla you know, unreliable narrator with this being a first person novel and that. The plot interesting, the side characters are endearing, overall I recommend it.

If you managed to sit through the inital angst and unusual characterization which comes off on the extreme sides (yes borderline psychotic personality issue with ML) and not to mention MC is my current #1 shameless MC in the whole BL continent, it is a pretty decent read. characters:

mc: lu feng

ml: sheng minou

... more>> summary:

MC is released from prison after serving ten years for voluntary manslaughter. he chances upon ml, his adoptive brother, who is now a successful lawyer and involved with the rich upper echelons of society. MC tries to wiggle into ml's life but ML is seemingly disgusted and pushes him away. but they cross paths multiple times as MC gets caught up in a few legal cases which ML is also involved in. MC flirts and chases after ML unrelentingly until ml's defenses slowly crack. MC then discovers the truth of what happened ten years ago which led to his incarceration.

thoughts:

novel isnt really angsty (?) but moreso introspective. lots of tough situations and touch questions being brought up. even more so with half the novel being legal casework and some of these cases touch upon a lot of societal taboos.

the whole novel is in lu feng's first person pov, but we still see a lot of sheng minou's struggles as his innate desires and self imposed restraints come into conflict. theres little moments when he slips and we get to see past his defenses. but even though this is a story about him bringing down his walls, he doesnt completely let himself go because those walls served as his protection for so long. he suffered abuse as a child and has homocidal ideation; those walls were meant to be a barrier to protect himself as well as to protect others. its a necessity he'll need for the rest of his life. the extras drives that point across how 'those like him' can only thrive on this earth by suppressing their darkest inner demons. and those who cannot, like qi yang, can only meet their demise. overall I was pretty satisfied with his character development. I typically dont like ships where one party doesnt reciprocate but he's a special case... hes still learning to love, even at the end of the novel, and thats okay. and besides, you notice the little changes in him that speak volumes.

Spoiler

not to go dsm-5 on a danmei character but I always thought sheng minou might have a personality disorder or some kind. antisocial disorder immediately popped out to me at the beginning, but I dont think its very accurate given a lot of his behavior is based on misunderstandings and a unreliable narrator. especially when you compare him to a real psychopath like qi yang. he might be a liiiiittle narcissistic though.

and I LOVE lu feng's character. hes such a shameless little sh*t and I love how he gets himself in the most damning situations thanks to his dumb antics. and its funny how my impressions of him went from crazy obsessed mu*derer shou -> hes actually a kind soul -> HES A f*ckING BRAT.

i also love stories where the bottom chases the top, and this one did not disappoint. and the first person pov works really well here. maybe because lu feng's sheer insanity sometimes makes the narration extra spicy. everything from his joys his hurt his obsessive love his perseverence his sense of justice was so well done I couldnt have asked for a better MC. <<less

Don't get the admiration I see here from some readers, but don't get haters either.

The story is okay. You know, sometimes it's a guilty pleasure to read something about obsessive love and unhealthy relationship. I've read Taizi and kinda liked it. So... just mind the tags.

But what's bothering me here, it's ML's character inconsistentsy.

i can easily get the part about 2 mil, but to wait outside of prison for 10 years? like, why? it's so out of character.

or the part at the very beginning at the club

ML was on a business meeting, then met drunk/drugged MC and somehow decided: well, such a good day. Bring him home to care? Nah. Get him out of the club and throw in a ditch? Nah. I don't know what's happening in this club, and I chose to be surprised later of it, but let me f*ck MC on this unfamiliar territory first. If I restrain him and don't talk, he won't know it was me, and it won't count. And then I'll left him here, and I don't care if someone found him and occasionally f*ck him again? (that never happened - or we just don't know - but what are the chances, if it happen with them once, why not twice? Don't ML not like when others touch MC?) Yeah, I'll do exactly that.

Like, are u for real?

Tbh I waited for some ~f*ck or die~ twist for ML to prove his loyalty to bad guys (like, we'll f*ck him or you do), but the bad guys didn't even chaise for MC?

I mean, I don't need a justification for ML's want to f*ck MC, but be consistent, if u r such a cold hearted and high intellectual psycho

But okay, everyone has their own bd*m. And if it comes to concencual at the end, bless your little dark obsessive hearts <<less

I thought the story was good, however I can’t help feeling underwhelmed. It may have been the nature of the relationship or that I perceived the MC as meh.

I did not like the fact that the “urges” of the ML were never truly addressed as high functioning sociopathy or psychopathy

If this was supposed to be a yandere type story... I didn’t feel it all that much. Perhaps I’ve become desensitised to the extreme.

Overall, a plain read but some may find it emotionally jarring or may, like me, think of it as another book completed with an interesting concept. <<less

I'm not understanding the positive reviews & this is why I hardly ever trust this site for quality, honest & critical ratings.

Firstly the narrative reads exactly like a word-count story. It's just endless dribble with hardly any story or character development/progress.

Secondly, the story isn't heart wrenching. It's annoying & makes me wonder why the hell characters think & act like they've only been born yesterday.

Thirdly, the story suffers from forced character interactions. Almost every chapter is filled with "coincidental" encounters between the MC & ML. They should NEVER be together... more>> as often as they are, let alone randomly meet.

  • On that point, in general, all characters within this story suffers this. No interaction between the characters or character introductions ever feel natural. It's always set up feeling superficial & very robotic.
The MC is not Yandere. More stalker-ish & obssessed but I would not describe him as Yandere. He operates on a "BL Logic" mentality. No matter the extreme wrong committed towards him, his brain haphazardly goes to lala land where love reigns supreme.

The ML is just generally unpleasant but I can see why considering how thick & s*upid the MC is. <<less

There's nothing more left for me to say that hasn't been said before, so I'm just gonna keep it short.

Read the tags. If you think you're okay with them then DO NOT HESITATE TO PICK UP THIS BOOK. I swear it's worth it 😭 the translation isn't completed yet but I was impatient and finished the novel with MTL (which wasn't too bad to be honest). So what I am saying is that, give it a go. You won't regret it.

I had wanted to drop the novel at first mainly because Lu Feng just kept chasing after Sheng Min Ou but kept getting the cold butt. The love seems really one sided and the reactions from Sheng Min Ou was really cold too.

I'm glad I held on and continued reading. Once I hit chapter 60 onwards where every misunderstanding is cleared, it gets sweeter.

If you are looking for fluffy all out love and intimacy, then this novel isn't suitable for you. However if you can slowly digest this novel, you'll... more>> find that ML's love is slow, steady and gentle. You don't need someone to continuously tell words of love to feel that love. ML is such a person. He may have some issues and strongly possessive, MC really complements his dark side by being the sunshine in his life and inadvertently saving him. I enjoy the side CP as well from the extras. Glad I picked up this read! <<less
