For My Derelict Favorite

I entered my favorite romance-fantasy novel, which I have read many times.

Thanks to the body of a wealthy commoner, I bought the status of a fallen aristocrat, attended a noble family’s gathering and observed the romance of the characters in the original novel.

I wanted to return to the real world after witnessing the ending.

But somehow, even after the ending, I was not freed from the body I possessed and remained living in the original novel.

As a result, I acquired the stories behind the scenes that I refused to comprehend.

My favorite sub male lead, Caelus, has died.

Living impoverished in the original work without him, I eventually fell ill and died.

Now, I wanted to return to reality.

However, the irony of fate has returned me to the end of the novel overnight. This is definitely… to save my beloved, right?

There are many reasons why I loved this story and only one thing I was slightly dissatisfied about. The story is obviously better quality than most rofan I read. The plot is actually quite realistic, so extreme situations and crazy situations are pretty much nonexistent.

The female lead was pleasantly vindictive. She was a dedicated villainess who shrewdly laid out her plans to get justice for her beloved (how wonderfully loyal), but she also had moments where her excellently flawed human side peeked out. This was the highlight and spiciest part... more>> of the story alongside her developing relationship with the thrown away second male lead. In most stories the villainess is quite flamboyant and all situations are highly tense bombs. Hestia, taking the role of the villainess, is very normal, realistic, and could predominantly be described as shrewd or subtle. It is very different from the typical villainess. Hestia feels like a malicious girl who could actually exist rather than someone who suffers from raging rofan protagonist syndrome.

The male lead (the losing second male lead of the original novel story) was a sad puppy. The story was predominantly about his heartbreak, mental illness, and healing. He worked so hard and loyally for his first love only to be thrown away like tr*sh by the original female lead. It was greatly satisfying that his broken-hearted self received healing from a new female lead (Hestia the transmigrator) who was a loyal person the same kind as him and only for him.

After reading the entire story I realized that a major subplot was the fight against mental illness. The obvious part was the male lead's heartbreak and depression. I would say it was a very accurate portrayal of stages of depression. At the beginning he couldn't find the motivation to do anything. Then as the female lead progressed his healing he began to do little hobbies here and there as a de-stressing exploratory measure while he contemplated the meaning of his life. Less obvious was the fact that the new female lead (Hestia) also had a problem with mental illness from the very beginning of the story. Her mental illness was a case of homesickness, identity crisis, depression, and "transmigrator/regressor illness" which most stories don't address.

The one part of the story that I was slightly dissatisfied with was the ending and the special chapters after the ending. I wouldn't say it was a disappointment or bad since the main point of the story was her relationship with the thrown away second male lead and it was addressed, but I was hoping for a more impactful ending. Bluntly, I thought the ending was a bit too normal, boring, and any other significant information I was interested in wasn't addressed at all.

Spoiler

Diana who took the role of the female antagonist throughout the entire story completely disappeared from the ending. What ultimately happened to her and anything related to her was never mentioned after a certain point.

The female lead and male lead also had a good ending, but somehow it was quite normal and subdued. It wasn't particularly passionate and interesting. Instead their ending was like a very gentle heartwarming ember and strangely normal. The same could be said of the crown prince and his relationship. The extra special chapters were boring.

I wanted to see some other characters' perspectives. I wanted some public opinion looking in and wanted to know about the situation of the country, royal family, church, territories, citizens, etc. There was nothing like that. Instead I got a short family vacation that was even more normal and boring than my own family vacations.

[This novel really emphasize on character development of male character I would say. Even though he still has similar way of loving people in the end, he still developed in my opinion. Plus, he is also very cute. He is more of aloof type in my eyes but his actions are so cute. And I like that the story is fine with expressing the distress of two main characters. I would rate it 10/10 ... more>>

EXCEPT the ending. IMO the ending is rushed. There are some parts in the story which are yet to solve and stuffs yet to be done. It would be good if the author comes up with season 2, just my wish of course. I think the path are very open for season 2. I really wish to see more 0f the two main leads being lovey dovey cos there was no much chapters with just two having a good time being couples and going on dates and stuffs.

Anyway, this is my thought, even tho I wish it was much longer, I really enjoyed the story. I love the main characters' personalities and the relationship between them. I binged read it but it is worth it. <<less

I highly recommend this! Story is short but to the point. The pacing is great, no back and forth useless misunderstandings or unnecessary events to prolong the story, ofc looking from the Lead's perspective. Helios and Diana could've used more communication but I guess that's hard when Diana is a stone. It's straightforward and refreshing. R18 scenes are okay. Kind of awkward but that's it.

feel free to skip below is my thoughts on the characters

Hestia is a realistic character. Her obsession with ML to a certain point can be too much but if you consider her situation it became bearable. She believes that since it's inside a novel, she can do whatever she wants and when things become clear that this is in fact reality, she had a hard time accepting that (very realistic), while other novel characters from a similar plot would immediately accept the novel as their reality. She's not s*upid and she knows her goal well and understand that by doing things differently, future events will also change.

Kaelus is very "professional". He fully respects and supports FL despite only being contractually married. He's too kind for his own good. Seems to be a very emotional man, and at the later chaps cries a lot though not a bad thing. Communication skill started off okayish as he didn't really talk much unless FL initiates, but as time went by and he opens his heart, it became much better and he is very aggressive and passionate.

Helios. Despite other opinions that he was forgiven rather quick than Diana, I think that is just to be expected since he recognizes his mistakes and constantly tries to better himself. He apologize and all, he did that after fully understanding the situation and his wrong doings, without justifying anything.

Diana was a hard-headed, stubborn character until the end. I honestly hoped she got a character development and somehow lived a happy life with CP. But until the end she was unmoved and hates changing. The amount of bad and wrong things she did just to prove others wrong is something to learn from. Also her apologies were never sincere, she's not sorry for the things she did, she's sorry because she wants to remove her own guilt or to make the situation better.

I truly appreciate this novel. I love how the author put in lots of emotions, like the ones you feel when you love someone you can't have and you start to doubt yourself and everything after they love you back. The author portrayed these emotions perfectly which makes it more fun to read. I love their moments, some of them are simple but beautiful enough to make you squeak. The main leads character developments are good and the story over all is very interesting and good. I highly recommend

A very very interesting novel. Not a typical shoujo as the MC isn't quite in her right mind, acknowledges that, and keeps moving forward.

What is reality? Is it the world before? The novel? Her first life? The second? The MC's disassociation and constant self-reflection is very well done and also not so heavy handed that it bogs the story down. It's something the character and story constantly works on as it develops.

To be fair, I didn't agree with all of the MC's actions but that is part of the point... more>> I believe. I think some of the reviews miss this point. MC isn't a saint pursuing justice. She seeks revenge and wants two people to pay for it. So what if she's called a villain for it? Her beloved was hurt and that's all that matters.

MC is a fascinating cunning character, with a lot of love to give, and in desperate need of an anchor after her life's been ripped from her twice, which is what the ML is to her. I realize that this all makes the novel sound super serious, but it's actually pretty well balanced.

takes a little bit of time for the story to really hit it's stride so don't give up too soon. If you don't want to read a story where two people are codependent and make each other their life's meaning, then please skip this novel. <<less

There were a lot of aspects I enjoyed about the story but the ending just didn't do it for me. FL is seriously detached from the characters. She made the only point of her existence the male lead and I had hoped this issue would be resolved in a big conflict but the story decided to completely skip the arc and just go for the happy ever after.

Spoiler

There was such a good opportunity to give FL a chance to realise, this is your reality and your decisions will differ from ml's. You need to figure it out. But what we got instead is her completely losing touch with reality, bowing her head and just continuing to go with everything ML wants. When she couldn't get behind ml's decision, I had such high hopes for this to finally be adressed but instead her feelings were treated as irrelevant. It irritates me to no end. I don't think any other novel has left me quite so disappointed.

I'm surprised that I came to like this novel. All characters got depth. They were flawed but no one was deemed as pure evil/villain. I also liked the development of relationship between leads.

I understood that some think that FL (Hestia) was unlikeable (can be anti-hero few times) and some of her reasons were confusing... but I find her POV and the plot got certain uniqueness compared to transmigration/regression novels making it interesting.

FL and ML:

FL (Hestia) straightforward character. After transmigration, the purpose of her living was her fanatism toward ML (Kaelus). She loved him but didn't crave for his love like a fan. At first life in novel, she just existing (until she dies) like viewing a novel on VR. But after ML's death and coming back to 2nd life in novel, she wanted to change the plot in favor of ML and OG leads to apologize to him. Some of her schemes were questionable but she initially didn't care bc she view herself as "new author" and will be back in real world so she got no lingering feelings in the novel world. Glad she got realizations and have happy ending w/ ML.

Meanwhile, I liked the ML (Kaelus). He got moments of weakness but that heatbreaking experience... didn't stop him to love FL unconditionally in later chapters

i really liked this novel at the start, I began with the manhwa and this is the one manhwa I swore I would die on the hill defending: now, some things have changed

romance
Spoiler

it was slowly building, then all of a sudden it hits you like a truck? it kinda caught me off guard lol. he was depressed and suicidal, he started getting more screentime and had an ok relationship with FL (felt a bit awkward on his end, like he was trying but still having seizures when he saw ogFL) then boom he's madly in love with FL and burning a gift from diana? maybe I was too focused on different elements of the story that I missed the progression but honestly I did not pick up the hints that his affection had reached that point? I swear there was a scene not that early before the reveal of him telling her to give him up. still, I will admit they were cute as a couple! I just needed to quickly adjust to the development and honestly, we spent so long fleshing out how hestia felt that his love for her paled in comparison. his love felt shallow when we look at hestia LOL

[collapse]

near-ending before epilogue

Spoiler

now, I know this is a common opinion shared by many if FMDF reader s, but hestia lowkey shouldve went back to her world.

we were at a point in the story towards the end, their relationship was established and I was rooting for them! sure, the romance kinda just jumped out at me, but that was just a little "oh, okay" moment for me, and I still loved them: but then, hestia's angst of being a transmigrator happened. it kinda built up in the chapters and she always shut it down, but after kael had confessed and they were happy, she began to wonder "why am I still here?" hestia never aimed for kael to reciprocate her feelings or have a relationship, her goal was to save his life and she had accomplished tha and she did so always seeing herself as an outsider. she knew that this was a reality with real people, but as she herself said this was not HER reality. yeah it was nice to save kael and be with him, but as time went by and she had accomplished her goal and her "prophecies" had run out, she no longer had purpose and said she had no real attachment to this world. she didnt want to live here, she never chose that, she only wanted to go back in time and save him (and that she did). she eventually stayed because all kael would do was cry in her room bc he thought she was trying to commit, but the way her emptiness was built up and shown really touched me and the other readers, so much so that we were all like hestia girl go home!! lol. I wouldnt have minded it due to her homesickness, and it felt like kael could never compete with her. her love for him wasnt that she wanted him at all costs, she just wanted his happiness, and I believe that had she gone home at that moment she really could have enjoyed peace. I possibly would have liked to see an alternative ending written where she goes home, and letting the readers pick out of the two their preference.

(a controversal opinion but if there ever were a diff ML I hope it would be helios bc I actually liked him and his chemistry and character development were mwahh! power couple fr. too bad hestia was disgusted when she found out he was swayed by her)

ending/diana

Spoiler

sooo unsatisfying! 😭 I know there are some controversial points in the novel and this is one of themmm. hestia spent the ENTIRE novel working her ahh off to bring down diana AND the temple. she set up a whole soap business so people wouldnt need to go to the temple as much for treatment and weaken the temples power so diana would lose all backing. she was so close to getting diana booted as the crown princess and had a whole plan with the nobles, but KAEL over here goes nooo uhm actually im gonna support her bc I just wanna be happy with you so idc if she goes down 🥺 let her keep her position and all bc im not sad anymore thanks to your love!! bit*h SHE SPENT MONEY AND ALL HER TIMEEE ON THIS AND YOU DO HER LIKE THISSS? hestia was like oh... okay do you still like her yk first love... kael was all no I love you but I cant be bothered w her anymore my depression? CURED so who needs pfft revenge! diana did end up losing her position later on because there was pressure for an imperial heir and diana didnt want babies? she escaped all consequence and hello what about the noble ladies you promised to represent when you were gonna take down diana? you rallied all this support and on the day you just do nothing and they were like awww okay theres always next time! girl be so fr how did they not have your head on a skewerrr you planned this? they were vicious in their hatred for her to so where did this generosity come frommm?

[collapse]

free_soul's review basically sums up and I said and we share the same opinion (though be warned they used no spoiler brackets so read at own risk) overall, I did like the story! these were the main two points that kinda got me and others scratching our heads but I dont think it ruined the story, hence the 3 stars. there was a lot of good build up and we know hestia worked harddd for her goal. I saw the vision, but it could have been executed more smoothly. the translation was pretty coherent, so thank you for all the hard work! it was pretty average, it had its ups and downs, I think the issue is that there was more good than bad but the bad was pretty tough that it started to overpower the good. when I think back, I really did enjoy the story and I dont regret binging it all lol

Originally wanted to rate it slightly higher, but the rushed ending left a weird aftertaste, it was generally too fast-paced. I'd love it if the author had shown the ML's narrative and had given it a little more time to explore the story and the embedded story's premise instead of taking off from 0 to 100.

About the smut; it's more of an adult-rated novel than smut,
Spoiler

Physical intimacy was late-stage, it was raunchy but as far as detailing goes, it was not as much as you'd expect from a 'smut' tag novel. S*x scenes didn't happen more than 4 times, becoming vaguer over time, the rest were all off-screen moments.

[collapse]

I loved how the MC was full of flaws that hadn't been covered up or glossed over. She's one of the more realistic types of FLs you'd see in fantasy romance book transmigration tropes.
Spoiler

Her plans would fall through, or not be well thought out, she'd occasionally get carried away by her emotions when getting heated in an argument with her nemesis the saintess, or be full of schadenfreude in the og couple's misery.
Selfish, petty, and vengeful to her enemies; but devoted, hardworking, caring and considerate to loved ones.

[collapse]
Overall I enjoyed Hestia grabbing the front seat to throw figurative rotten tomatoes at an arrogant ogML and empty-headed ogFL.

'smol' rants: Lacks strongly in details.
First of all, the embedded story:
Spoiler

I have no idea what to think of the sins the saintess Diana (ogFL) was condemning the ML (og2ndML) for; was it an unavoidable situation there because her life was threatened by the princess Letona (villainess in OG story) or more a carefully planned out mu*der? The whole country seems to know of it and nobody really cares for some reason. The only thing that's clear to me is that the way, both friend and crush, pushed Kaelus (og2ndML/ML) away after all he had done and dedicated to them, was his tipping point.
They have been wielding him like a tool for their means, to begin with, and were never ever sorry for using him until then or condemning him for 'overstepping' his lines executing duties of the crown prince or when he'd go off to comfort Diana etc. Felt like they had drawn a line WAY TOO LATE.
About MC's involvement in the first uninfluenced storyline:
How and where did she get all the money to buy a title? Woke up in a body of a commoner who just won the lottery? (*≧▽≦) ノシ))

Also, more than unconditionally adoring the 2nd ML and feeling angry for him by taking his death personally, I believe when the church turned away from her when she was in need of succor was partially the reason why she was vengeful against them, Diana being a direct representative of the church, holding firmly hypocritically in her idealistic naive beliefs, would be the best striking dummy for her pent-up anger, including for having to hurt her bias on top.

It's hard to believe she was saddened to the extreme by the death of a fictional character, even if she had lived through the story on the sidelines, to the point of losing the will to live.

[collapse]

About ppl defending Diana:
Spoiler

I feel like her ending was already a graceful one. She still had someone who stood by her side til the very end and she never experienced the hardships of life but merely had her interpersonal relationships crumble away (as it would have happened in the original anyway). She's naive but most importantly far too ignorant and patronizing. She'd treat others like they're all blind to the 'truth' and never compromises on anything she set her mind on.
Crown princess or not, her marriage would've failed mainly because of how inflexible she is. (Which it did, even w/o MC's involvement.)
Besides that, on top, she's been extremely indecisive. So far, she had people do the dirty work and make decisions for her, she just had to be a sweet little angel, giving waves and smiles. But living as a crown princess, she acted more like a saintess than before, demanding the unwavering support of her spouse to her cause and giving nothing back in return. Til the end, she refused to move on with life and blamed her choices on others. At least the ogML made some progress and was sincere in his apologies, still a c*cky b*stard though, that one.
About Helios:
Uncorregiable c*cky b*astard at first, but later improves himself by reflecting on his and his wife's actions.

He definitely had his share of faults for spoiling Diana by unconditionally shielding her regardless of the context and circumstances.

Then again Diana isn't the type who can take criticism, so it's 50/50 understandable why he coddled her that far; he tried to please her too hard at some point without even realizing it.

When he confronts her later on about their faults, she wouldn't have any of it and goes full victim Karen mode. By simply questioning her actions and seeing fault in her was the breaking point in their marriage.

I think it was said she was raised at the temple/church and been subtly infused with the belief that she can do no wrong, she's a saint, and whatever she says and does is the right thing. To be fair, the men who were enamored with her, did the same.

Diana is too childish to be a crown princess, she refused to learn from others and had offended too many of them to have the opportunity to redeem herself. So yes, Helios needed a new crown princess, someone who can pull their own weight.

[collapse]
Lastly, I recommend the manhwa adaptation, it has more details that the novel missed and is several notches more comical when Hestia starts fangirling (compared to the depressing overtone in the novel).

I found myself torn between giving this story 4 or 5 stars, but in the end, I settled on 4⭐. It's not that I disliked the ending; it just felt a bit anticlimactic for my taste. Diana, the antagonist, never showed any signs of repentance at all. Maybe she does have an off-screen redemption arc somehow, but as a reader, it left me somewhat unsatisfied.

Another factor in my 4⭐ rating was the unequal love between the MC and ML at the beginning. Having to read through the ML's indifference while... more>> knowing the MC's deep love for him was a bit tough for me. It's more of a personal preference thing; I've never been a fan of stories where the protagonist falls in love first. It hits too close to home since I've experienced pining for nearly 7 years myself. So, it did make me a tad uncomfortable reading those types of stories.

Diana, the original FL, is a religious fanatic filled with hypocrisy, self-absorption, and self-righteousness. I'm convinced she's a narcissist who can't stand anyone voicing a different opinion. While she's not outright evil, her stubborn insistence on viewing the world in black and white, without any shades of gray, is extremely annoying. She's the type who'd condemn a butcher for cruelty while happily enjoying the privilege of eating meat – a classic case of hypocrisy.

The MC's character is rather complex, even if it's not obvious at the beginning. She battles with anxiety, experiences occasional manic episodes, often detaches from reality, has depression, doesn't feel like she belongs in this world, and experiences impostor syndrome. Her homesickness is also a significant issue, even in the face of the ML's love and willingness to spend his life with her.

What's concerning is her persistent hope of returning to her modern life, to the extent that she's contemplated drastic measures like ending her own life. When the ML suggested giving up on revenge, it felt like the only reason she didn't take more extreme actions was the uncertainty of the result.

The MC's reasons for seeking revenge are not entirely selfless for the ML. She genuinely harbors personal hatred toward the two original protagonists. The ML was her lifeline in this world prior to regression, and his su*cide caused her immense pain, as if her purpose for living in this world had been shattered. In a way, the actions of the two protagonists indirectly hurt her as well. That's why she reacts so strongly when the ML suggests abandoning the revenge. She's torn because the reason she initially pursued revenge (for the sake of the ML) conflicts with her own unreconciled hatred.

The bitterness in her heart is understandable, and the fact that revenge became her life's purpose makes it all the more difficult to let go. She's struggling to cope because of her transmigration. She never truly cared for people other than the ML until she had children.

Towards the end of the story, the ML may have noticed that the MC isn't as mentally healthy as she outwardly projects. She's exceptionally skilled at hiding her struggles, appearing as a high-functioning member of society. It's surprising to think that she might be one of the least mentally stable in the group. I can't help but feel disappointed by the story's handling of the MC's inner problems. It seems like the author used the behind-the-scenes trip to the duchy region as a form of therapy for the MC without the two protagonists talking to each other in depth.

Also, I found that the smut in the story weren't the best. They seemed somewhat out of place and didn't quite match the overall tone of the narrative. It could be a bit jarring when explicit terminology like 'A, B, C' was used when the story previously had a somber tone. <<less

I shamelessly loved this one. If you are sick of the isekai romances where the FL swoops in and her protagonist halo makes everything just fall in line unrealistically and everything is just too darn easy, this one is for you.

The slow burn aspect of how the MC and ML solidified their relationship was just GLORIOUS. It was also so much more realistic than a lot of the isekai novels, where the OG heroine who serves cider and face-slapping to the establishment then becomes the crown princess discovers that her... more>> being Not Like The Other Girls is actually a huge detriment in politics, and her pious posturings only serve to exacerbate delicate political situations instead of everyone just falling into line with her Because She IS Different And Righteous. I LOVED that - especially since it ended up with her Happy Ending being a Bad Ending in the end - the 2nd ML (who is the ML of this story) ends up broken from her unfeeling and self-righteous treatment and her marriage falls apart under the pressure of reality. The FL who isekai'd in is just an ordinary person - yes, she's smart, and she and about 3 years of knowledge of what will happen in general, but she isn't all powerful, exceptionally smart, or has a protagonist halo - she's just THERE for her ML (the OG 2nd ML) when he needs it, as his best friend married the OG FL and they rejected him for his underhanded dealings that protected them and gave them their HE. He is broken, and the FL gives him the space and encouragement to heal without forcing herself on him or expecting him to reciprocate - and yes, he eventually does, but for her that's not the point. The point is that he DOES heal, not that she needs him to love her back. It's refreshing and sweet, and I love how the two of them communicate and take the time to learn each other and be GOOD to and for each other. It's beautiful to see and more realistic than most of these stories. <<less

If you want to enjoy this novel make sure to not think to much. The premise is weak and if you think to hard you’ll get super annoyed. I’d also have liked to see me interaction between the main characters. Most of the novel is bestie rubbing around scheming and there’s bit a ton of interaction between the couple. But it’s a decent read, just don’t take it to srsly.

I'm giving this story a 5 star rating because

1. I was so hooked I stayed up all night reading

2. The MC was very smart and human

3. AND THE TRANSLATION WAS AWSOME. To many the MC's selflessness and devotion may seem unlikely but a lot of the times people forget that she doesn't view the characters around her as people but as characters from a novel she binged. It's like if we fell into the world of our favorite manga or something and now you get to see them up close.... more>> The world didn't feel real to her especially after regressing. Not many novels go into the trauma that being thrown into a new reality can cause and this novel did a great job at conveying this notion. She essentially had to accept the world of the novel as her reality to keep from falling apart at the seems like she did when she first fell into the world. The ML is one of my favorites ever too!! He fell in love with her devotion and returned it to the MC. The way he fell out of love with the heroine was profoundly realistic and I love the way the author gave him such wisdom and maturity after his su*cide attempt. He's a perfect example of a healthy person who grew from his past experiences. AND LETS NOT MENTION HOW HE IS SO CONSIDERATE OF THE MC's FEELINGS

The heroine doesn't become evil or is discovered to be a bad person like other novels but the author plays into the flaws that she always had since the start. This was so refreshing too and again REAL. Even at the end of this novel you may feel a little bad for her. In conclusion this novel was awesome and now I'm going to read the webtoon

I highly recommend it!! <<less

MC is mature. She doesn't force her love. She supported him and fought to give justice to ML.

I'm still at chapter 28, I think MC is a perfect wifue. She is independent, she supports ML, her world was ML, her mind is clear and knows what to do and what is wrong.

It's a masterpiece! It's my favourite novel from now on. I spent 2 nights reading this without sleeping haha.

The FL is the best... Hestia... she is always honest with the ML, so there's no misunderstanding. She's so strong and the way of revenge also absolutely astonishing!

The ML.... Kaelus.... was heartbroken cos of the bich Diana. But day by day, he recovered thanks to Hestia. He always supported Hestia and was never disrespectful. That's what I like the most.

Their love is so cute and sweet... it really gives us a lesson... more>> on how a marriage wholely on paper can be so good if the both of them respects and understand each other.

Btw.... I'm really proud of Hestia... as a regular novel reader and I also have a second lead syndrome. What she did is so good! I can't find a single fault in her way.

And a most important thing is....[If you've come for sm*t in this novel, then just give up lol! Cos the sm*t is worst lol.... at some point, I'd just ignore all the sm*t scenes and got back to the story]

The og novel couple are more than tr*sh at first but it's good to see them breaking. The ogml, the crown prince wasn't very bad at the end... Let's just say, he was not an evil lol

Spoiler

The crown prince later forgets Diana, his wife and crush on Hestia lol! But oh God, he's a total messed up character hahah.

Diana bich was divorced at the end and the prince remarried just after the divorce. The new Empress was chosen with Hestia and Kaelus.

I will never forget this novel cos I really love it.... I'll miss you, Hestia and Kaelus.... sob sob <<less

Probably the best novel I've ever read.

MC is the best and I love the male lead, I actually like the original ml, because he is not dumb and reflected on his mistakes. The original FL is the most annoying btch ever, she is so naive, s*upid and delusional that it's actually sad. She also thinks that she is always right just because she is a saintess. The manhwa is also pretty nice.

Honestly would really recommend.

I was impressed by the sheer length of every single chapter (found out after finishing that it was multiple chapters condensed).

Also I was impressed by the premise - a fan who had transmigrated and did everything in order to get revenge/justice for her favorite character - very well written. The character development was done extraordinarily well as the main character had to grow from viewing everyone as a novel character or unrealistic game to truly living life as one of the denizens of that world.

The romance was gradual but very... more>> well done - especially with the details of how ML came out in the after-effects of his depression/PTSD, surprisingly author didn't choose to write an unrealistically strong/perfect ML, but a ML with weaknesses and soft heart.

The translation seemed to be edited MTL as there were often pronoun and noun inconsistencies, but overall was readable.

Maybe because of the lack of descriptive word choice or some hiccups in the translation, the writing wasn't as engrossing as some other novels I've read, but the overall plot was very well crafted. <<less

The manhwa adaptation brought me here. As a married woman I can relate to the story. The portrayal of love and marriage was really on point and very realistic. And to quote “Wedding is not the end, but the beginning of the real love story.” ... more>>
Spoiler

It’s saddening that it was only at the end that Diana began to examine her self and consequences of her actions. There was no explicit statement that she realized her shortcomings or she accepted that she’s not perfect. However, somewhere towards the end of the epilogues, she began to see that she was ‘frozen’ in life. Unlike the people who lived their lives, she was the only one who did not progress in the journey of life.

I really loved this story, but as some of the comments already mentioned, the end feels king of rushed. There was so much potential for much more chapters to go, but I also like a story that doesn't go in a roundabout way. Just to advise future readers, this is tagged R-18, but should also have a Smut tag, it really surprised me when it happened and it also felt a little forced since it was kinda unexpected, and a little out of character... ? At least that was my... more>> feeling, but a really nice and refreshing novel ! <<less

Dropped it after 17 chapters.

It had so many good ratings so I was excited but I'm disappointed.

I like slow burn but here there's nothing burning. Absolutely zero sparks even halfway into the story.

... more>> There's just a lot of political back and forth that feels quite repetitive. Very little interaction between the main pairing. None that are actually meaningful.

I like MC as a character but the ML feels like a prop. There doesn't seem to be any chemistry between them and I just got really bored waiting anything at all to happen.

The translation is also rough. I had to gloss over quite a few sentences because they didn't make sense. I'm still grateful for the work that was put in but just as a warning for everyone else. <<less
