‘I died and became an extra in a male-dominated fantasy novel. The only problem was, I hadn’t read the novel to the end. One thing I do know is that a terrible future awaits me, and thus, I, now Dalia, have decided to live a safe and prosperous life for the rest of my time here.

Since I don’t know what will happen, I will be a bystander observing the main character from the sidelines… I’ll make my own happy ending away from the main plot!’

With that determination, Dalia embraces the role of an extra. And like all extras, she clings to a golden thigh: Kaichen, the powerful wizard who is unwaveringly loyal to the protagonist.

For Dalia who wants to have a happy ending, it was imperative to extract herself from the novel’s plot… Yet her calm life is shaken when a flirtatious romance begins to bloom between her and her golden thigh.

Will she be able to resist the temptation?

this is genuinely one of the best novels I have read on this site. It's so good I actually paid money to read ahead (and I am a broke ass bit*h so that says something.)

this novel hurts. The fl, because she has been stuck in a time loop for 100 years, has so much trauma im surprised she hasn't gone batsh*t insane yet. And the best part is that it doesn't heal right away after she meets the ml. She still has hallucinations, seizures, and psychotic breakdowns. Dahlia's struggles... more>> have not disappeared just because she met the handsome male lead. She is forced to acknowledge, come to terms with her trauma, and only then will she be able to heal (she also jokes about it a lot to cover it up which is the most relatable thing I have ever read.)

now the ml. I adore him. Kaichen is the only "tsundere" male lead I like because it's realistic. He's cold to dahlia because he's been hurt by her in the past, albeit when they were just kids. He's a reserved and cold individual but he shows that he cares in small ways that dahlia notices and finds endearing. I love kaichen. One massive thing i've noticed is that whenever there is a cold male lead they often become verbally abusive and intentionally hurt the female leads. He doesn't do that. Instead he keeps his distance which I think is incredibly mature. Ugh I just love my boy so much.

the best part is that they actually have really good banter. They are both very witty so it makes reading their interactions all the more fun.

the plot is also so so good. It's interesting and just confusing enough that it makes you itchy for more chapters. I adore this novel please give it a try if you can!

Spoiler

trigger warning for slight descriptions of self harm on chapters: 29, 30, and 43.

Dalia and Kaichen are such a good pair. I love their chemistry although I got a bit shocked when I read Kaichen's POV lol thats when I learned this was smut. Usually if its smut, something already happens within the first ten chapters lol anyways im loving the story atm and I love and feel saddened for Dalia with her pasr and I hope she gets to heal properly, and forgive herself for something she had no control over.

Also if you're here for the smut ... more>>

The plot is interesting, so I have a good anticipation for how the story will unfold and how the relationship will develops.

as of ch 4,
Spoiler

our poor MC is trapped in time loop living the same day for a hundred year. It is astonishing already that she has not yet gone crazy. She met kaichen whom I guess is the ML from the beginning. So it would be interesting to see how their relationship will develops from there.

RECOMMENDED FOR: readers who like smut, romance,

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: weak readers (theres a lot of angst), readers who dislike smut

PERSONAL THOUGHTS: I realllyyy liked this novel. Surprisingly, it has a lot of potential. The FL and ML are SOOO cutee damn ... more>>
Spoiler

No because my favorite scenes of them were during that time when they lived in that cozy forest cottage by themselves. Its giving old married couple <33

[collapse]
. The angst is enough, but not that enough for me. I wish there were more details on what happened to the FL during the time loop, I mean im not complaining, its already very tragic.

Like the other reviews here, yes its true that the ML becomes very lustful for FL even in crucial moments. It wasn't the slow and developing type of perspective shift of a man who's just starting to have s*xual feelings for his beloved. It was VERY abrupt, even though it was made obvious that he had feelings for her. Like where did the shy and tsundere man I knew for 60+ chapters go? It wasn't very like of his character to suddenly m*sterbate to the FL. BUT, on the other hand it IS a smut based novel.

Also in defense for Dalia, it's sad that some readers dont consider her as a mental patient. As if her panic attacks weren't enough indication of her mental state. I don't mind her being loud, talkative, or annoying at times because it could be a side effect of her trauma. You need to really try to understand the character too to be able to evaluate the story.

PROS:

    • Cute and tsundere ML. He's soft and GODDD I want someone to take care of my mentally unstable ass like how he does to Dalia. (his personality shift in the recent chapters is debatable but this story is orginally catering to smut readers so ig its remains true to its purpose)
    • There are light and fluffy scenes that's kind of unlike most smut K-Novels but it does give emotional depth to the story and actually shows how their relationship progresses!
      Spoiler

He actually had a childhood crush on the OG Dalia but she did smth that made him hate her, she's the main reason why he dislikes women/nobles now but seeing that her personality changed, he fell for the FL

      [collapse]
    • No toxic relationship here. There is bickering though, lots of it.
    • The storyline is GOOD for a smut novel and a historical romance novel. Not too complex, not too cliche, but it can be a real tear-jerker. It has different arcs and an actual plot. It is interesting, that is a fact. But it depends on how long it can interest you.
    • There aren't any two-dimensional characters here, everyone has a role to play and has depth to their character.
    • Every moment is special. I don't consider any chapter as a useless plot device to drag out the story more.
    • The FL, Dalia, is a very likable character, I love her so much because of how real she is. I would say that the author wrote her well. Other than that, I could recognize her as a fleshed-out character. Because she was given flaws, she had mistakes and some regrets. She persevered for a long time and I just want to hug her. I also like how she seemed very determined to recover from her illness, she actually makes an effort to improve herself, and that's what makes her story worth reading.
CONS:

    • I wouldn't exactly consider this a CON but this story has mentions of attempted su*cide and other uncomfortable topics that I doubt soft-minded people would like so this is a trigger warning for you.
    • Plot Spoiler & Trigger warning:
      Spoiler

She got isekai-ed as a misunderstood alcoholic villainess that was an extra character and was stuck in a time loop for 100+ years in her land and couldn't escape without the male lead's help. During that time period, she was tortured and killed many times by her own people (the villagers living in her land) because she kept experimenting on them in horrible ways, similar to animal testing, to find a cure for the virus that was spreading in her village. She did this knowing that every time she dies, she'll just regress again to the same day and no one will remember what she did, only her. So the next time she regresses, she would continue doing experiments on different people to find the cure even at the price of killing them, expecting that they'll be revived the next time she regresses. She ended up developing some mental issues and believed that she deserved to die because of the actions she did during the time loop, even though she was doing it for the good of her people. It was also mentioned she tried committing su*cide so many times in the time loop.

      [collapse]
    • No smut yet even though it's been 100 chapters (however there are kissing and other intimate scenes).
    • Dalia can be very repetitive with her words and behavior that it can be boring.
    • Translations can be off sometimes, it's understandable though.
    • Slowburn romance (I love this trope but I understand that it can be annoying to some)
    • Would have preferred that the ML had a natural lust transition bc... yeah I miss the lovely and gentle Kaichen it doesn't make sense to his character but he's still caring regardless. Looking forward to more fluff scenes!
    • The first half of the story was brilliant. I am expecting more for the second half though, its too dark for me to handle atm, so many tragedies.

I like the FL, how fragile yet strong she is keeping her slightly broken self because of that hundred years timelooping torture.

There’s not really much at this point but the translator and the author did a good job in giving the story that subtle immersive characters and that restless warmth feeling in the story that seems to spell both healing and tragedy.

The first half of this was good. Pretty damn good actually. Seeing Dalia struggling with
Spoiler

Her madness from reliving the same day for 100 years, and the horrible things she did, as well as the "alcoholism" that amplified it, giving her hallucinations, trembling hands, migraines, and dementia.

[collapse]
was just really interesting to read. Trying to find out everything that bothered her was a good mystery. At least, that's what I saw as the core focus of the novel.

And then, around the second half of the novel, things take a full f*cking nose dive. I went in knowing that it's smut, but....
Spoiler

Kaichen, our ML, pops a boner from just looking at Dalia. He pops one when he smells her, he pops one when he holds her hand, he pops one when she cuts her bangs. He goes around in public hiding his boner in his mage's robe. He just rolls with walking around with a boner like "it's cool, I can hide it in my robe". He's a full-fledged idiot, and it feels like the writer doesn't understand male anatomy or psychology. All of this happens during what felt like it was supposed to be the most serious and crucial plot development

[collapse]

There's the weird choices for censoring too. Words like damn, pe*vert, and lust. Really?

There are other issues, but this was a huge tonal shift. It was completely jarring, even if it wasn't out of left field. It felt like there was almost no build up. Maybe one to two chapters of foreshadowing that this might be a thing between characters, and then BAM Just too damn much.

This novel contains everything... It has adventures, angst, teacher-student relationship, friendship, skinship, multiple POV, multiple transmigrators....

And it's really well written.

Love the couple... Dalia and Kaichen are just the best combination what I want in a fantasy world.

In a word LOVE THIS NOVEL

I'm not new as a novel updates reader but my account here is new and this is my first time writing a review here in novel updates.

The first time I read this novel was last year and I think at that time the novel has 15 chapters and the story is entertaining for me to be honest so even thou I am impatient person I became patient waiting for the next update since I am just reading it for free.

So I stopped reading this for months so that if I... more>> re read it again there would be many chapters na.

The other day I started re read this now I just finished the latest update and sure enough I regret reading it with just 60 chapters since It's not enough for me 😭gosh I love the story so much.

I love their interactions and how the story progress and love the characters set up.

I love the MC and ML gosh I also love the extras where the ML lives.

Gosh they are lovely they are not plain characters at all it's like they are alive they are a real person.

I love this to whoever reads novel who based on comments well this is your sign to read this novel ✨

And btw to people who read negative / who don't like the story comments then get carried away well I suggest you to try reading the story first before judging it that's all thank you !

Ps. NO BASHING AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY COMMENT AND MY PRAISE TO THE STORY JUST IGNORE MY COMMENT AND KEEP YOUR RANTS TO YOURSELF THANK YOU ! <<less

It's a good story, I love how the author doesn't brush off the years she spent in the time loop and the mental scars she naturally have and he doesn't magically resolve all her problems only because she is a transmigrator and she read the novel. I'm excited to see how it goes, the only doubt I have is the ML he seems a bit dull at times so I hope his character grow more.

This is one of my new favorites. The pacing is excellent, and the characterizations of the MC and ML are both realistic and endearing. MC's struggles with her trauma are some of the best I've reading in a novel like this.

The romance is a slow burn, so don't be expecting any fun times soon new readers. The story is definitely worth it though.

I meant to rate this 5 stars, but miss-cl**ked. : (

Urgh I can't anymore... the first part was insanely good and dark.

Made me anticipate a really good plot and revelation

Spoiler

I mean the princess is also a transmigrator! How cool is that! Particularly with her bound to the fate of the villain

[collapse]

But all of that for nothing... the second part is just plain annoying with the FL suddenly having the IQ of a primary school child and doing nothing but whining and repeating teacher teacher!
And the ML becomes completely transparent...
The plot is completely lost for dozens of chapters for no good reason and in 157 chapters there's painfully one and a half smut scenes...
Too bad...

Simply wonderful writing. We may all have our preferences in this novel but I'm loving the slow burn trope here. Dalia has traumas and a really, really gnarly past while she was trapped so I get that the ML is taking it slow FOR HER SAKE.

2 years time skip?!? Damn but as I said the ML is probably helping her as of the moment in her state affairs and magical abilities. The incident probably scarred him when he found out what's really happening in her mind (mental state).

Oh and f*** that villainess. I wish Dalia could manifest some sort of spell that would put her in a time loop, too. <<less

2.5 dropped... This is the mc: "---!!' "--Teacher!" "---??!!" "---!" "---!" The whole damn time.

I excused a lot of her dialogue bc I take her to be legitimately crazy & traumatized after 100 years of imprisonment, but the problem is I don't think her dialogue/thinking/acting will ever stop acting like a crazy old woman. And that is just impossible to read. She reads like a teenage male character with a low EQ who is constantly excited (or a Korean person (which is probably the more likely one) & I don't... more>> mean that as shade I mean that as a cultural difference in responding / translation issue.) Understandable at times but not at every single dialogue almost. For that reason I dropped it.

The romance is the focus of this novel. The plot is third. The characters & their personalities including the mc/ML are second. It's always awkward to read korean aspects (the explicit use of "oh speak in formal language" mentions in dialogue etc.) of language / culture in a western based fantasy world... it never comes off natural. <<less

I don't read smut, but I didn't notice the tag on this and ended up binging it and it's shockingly good. Nothing to warrant the smut tag so far, which is fine with my, although unfortunately there are hints that it's only a matter of time. The story and characters are well written, and I love anything with a time loop so I'm probably slightly biased.

This is definitely worth checking out even if you don't normally read smut.

I binged this. It's 6 am right now and I have yet to sleep. But now imma cry over the fact that there aren't more chapters right now : (

I LOVE THIS

firstly, we have an FL who actually goes crazy/ experiences extremes.

secondly, despite the "read novel" trope. I liked the realistic setting that she hadn't read the ending and because it was just a good time pass, she had skipped many chapters. moreover, instead of knowing every single detail of the novel, she only remembered bits and pieces. It was... more>> a realistic approach and I liked that.

the interactions and convos of the FL are pretty funny. especially her interactions with the ml- I couldn't stop smiling... my mom even got suspicious lol XP

the ML may seem petty but he had a history with the og Dahlia so it makes sense

Spoiler

also it is referred to that even with the og Dahlia he liked or felt for her enough to look himself up for over three months. the details weren't given but it was hinted.

[collapse]

despite that, the ML cares so much. Sed boi.

The trauma and fears are so painful... I cry T_T

I didn't know there was smut until kaichen's pov and his thoughts are just >///< *nose bleeds. an example is-
Spoiler

kaichen explaining the cute and platonically flirtatious things he wants to do with our fl, giving the readers butterflies.

then the next line- "He longed for her at night"

blush level 100

basically, it's a defo 10/10

MUST READ!!!!!!!

below is just me spoiling/ summarising the whole story till now (ch 106)

Spoiler

forbidden time magic was cast on Arcab, the lord or countess of who is dahlia. The day kept repeating (like in the grey man anime) and no one was aware of it except Dahlia. even outside of arcab it had only been a day since this whole fiasco but Dahlia had actually lived the same day for more than a hundred years. She went crazy, did experiments and killed her people, was killed tortured and mu*dered herself, and even tried to kill herself countless times. but the next day will start again and no one would remember except her. She was lonely and depressed, desperately wishing for kaichen to come and save her, she was done with it and especially hated how she couldn't even die. On the plus side tho, during this repeat period she learnt a lot of skills. she awoke her own magic, learnt spells and potions through trial and error tho, cooking and whatnot. Also found out her memory is so strong she could memorise everything if she has just read it once. lowkey jealous I want that ability

finally ML arrives and he has germophobia and another term that was mentioned but I forgot what, he is disgusted by the condition of her house, littered with bottles and dirt. basically, our FL is the 'medium' of the magic on arcab and ML needs her to study the sh*t going on. she agrees but demands they leave arcab. "anywhere but here. please"

In arcab Dahlia is known as an alcoholic and gambler. an addict, crazy woman, ruined their town. When in reality even the og Dahlia did a lot to try and keep the town going. A huge responsibility was pushed on her even before she could move on from the trauma of her parent's death. She tried her best but in the end to cope she turned to drinking, that was 2 years ago.

when FL comes here she decides to stop drinking but suffers from extreme withdrawal symptoms. another painful moment for the FL ML and readers. but the ML notices it's unnatural (ill come back to it)

so the ML agrees on taking her away from arcab. at first, FL decided not to clean her wreck of a house because it would be back the next day. But now that she was free from it, she had no reason to not clean. She, who had spent her time observing (stalking) her townspeople pities two people especially. Mimi who used to be her maid and a dear friend to og dahlia and Angel the newspaper boy. Mimi's brother was sick and FL (after experiments) found medicine for him and cured him but the curing process looked painful and Mimi shouted and kicked her out. it's frankly understandable. FL then recruited Angel, a kid hardly ten years old to manage her estate. This was her disguised way of helping him who works hard to support his siblings. He was an orphan and had to work day and night, despite that, would often sleep hungry.

so now they leave arcab and instead of the magic tower, the ML takes her to his house which no one has ever been to. Here are some cute fluffy and HILARIOUS scenes so I'd leave it so you guys should read it yourself.

in short tho, FL was the medium and the magic works according to her will which she thought was "tomorrow doesn't come". her withdrawal symptoms were very abnormal and so they tested and she wasn't an alcoholic, she was poisoned DUNDUN. It was the work of a terrorist group. they targeted arcab because it was far from the capital and quite conservative, that outsiders are not openly welcomed and something like that.

the friendship between ML and the crown prince is so fking cute and funny, quite refreshing. the ML is tsundere but so adorable. I love their interactions, second to the FL and MLs. third in rank would be fl's interactions with las and angel.

well after this and that and stuff, FL has to go back to arcab because the 'epidemic' that was supposed to be in some other place was now in arcab. Well, they get back and stuff and well they visit patients, low-key comedic and cute interactions between them. ML gets jealous for no reason lol.

but then the rebel grp leader, who is another magician named arteries something Idk kidnaps FL because 'cant loose our special lab rat' something.

the ML had gone home first on impulse because he suddenly got shy with the FL lol. and so they strike smh. anyway, y'all can guess what happened. during this time, both FL and ML actually admitted their feelings for each other to themselves. haven't really confessed to others. Julius boi had a big role of cupid to make our ML realise (did I mention ML gets h**ny seeing the FL many times a day >.<)

FL is unconscious for a week and ML takes care of the whole town in her stead and tells the that "Dahlia was victim to this poison first and turned to alcohol and gambling to hide her sickness". ML also rebels against the imperials for our fl.

anyway, when FL wakes up, she goes to his room to see his messy awesome figure and well they get smol cute interactions. that's all for now

[collapse]

I love how the ML loves and takes care of the FL in his own special ways, and the FL understands. there is also some communication and surprisingly the LEAST misunderstandings. nearly non-existent.

just so y'all know, those coming here smut, they haven't even hugged, forget kissing or anything else. The romance is slow, but the build-up is really nice, understandable and realistic. <<less

I loveeee this novel. Actually, the story is more than what was written in synopsis. It has interesting plot. It was fun to read. Recommended! :)
I love the characters. FL is the funny type and the ML is cold but adorable kinda type. I love how the relationship between them develops. I also love the story, the plot was unusual - in a positive way; its a fresh idea about time magic plot and I find it interesting. Im feeling curious about what will happen next. And the most important thing is I enjoy my time reading it. Really, I love this novel. Thank you author for creating this and the translation team for making this happening for me <3

take this as a grain of salt. I cannot truly say that I love this novel nor can I say I hate this novel. The concept is fun, but the novel's writing feels dry to me. I know this is a me problem but I am just bored reading the mc's thoughts. It took me so long to finish 4 chapters bc she has such a dull narrative voice. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the author or the translator which I hesitate to blame since I... more>> know translating isn't easy. The novel just feels monotoned, I was in a daze reading so I had to redo it bc I could not retain anything. I was that bored. But that's just me. The beginning with the main character in the time loop, the escape, and the psychological aftermath, are really well written. I think it does a good job exploring how torturous a one day time loop would be.

That said, the story once it moves past that—in my opinion—moves at a snail’s pace. Maybe it’ll pick up later, but it’s been a bit of a struggle to read through for a little while now

Me: let me just read a few chapter to check out the story and put it on my reading list

3 chapters in....

2 restless nights and 102 chapters later

... more>> I gotta admit that this novel has truly captivated me. I love the main characters so much. The plot was nice and mysterious to me since I kept reading and reading. I wanted to find out more about what the FL did while she was trapped in that 100 years time magic. And I gotta tell you that it was DARK!!

I was surprised how crazy things got but also appreciate the fact that it went that way since it’s refreshing to see a dark and corrupted character who truly went mad as a FL. ML is also adorable. Some people might get annoy with his character his he has a past with our (old) FL memory that make he petty but his shy and cute reaction is truly adorable !

It’s a slow romance so don’t expect any crazy heat to happen with the mature/smut/R-18 tag. I just finished ch 102 and they haven’t date yet. The tag is most likely for what the FL has to go through while she was corrupted. So be warn! <<less

This is one of, if not the best Korean light novel I have ever read. The author has done a great job and the translator are top notch. This is the first translation of Lunar Letter that I read and I love every chapter. Word choice are amazing and easy to understand, the sentence also flows beautifully. There are a few mistake on the pronounce (his/her) that makes me confuse but in all 78 chapters that I read I can count them with my fingers, so overall Lunar Letter is... more>> amazing in delivering high quality translation.

Also, I just want to say that I assume the translation team divide the original chapter into parts (I assume a chapter into 2 parts). So, this might have over 300 chapters (the original chapter supposed to end at 155). I'll wait until there are more chapters since I don't think I can stop thinking about the plot otherwise. So I'll let the chapters piled up and binge read it later.

Quite sure this one is a slow burn, so the romance will be fully developed in the second half of the novel. For now they are just figuring out their feelings. I love the build-up though.

The female lead is strong-willed and quick witted sunshine while the male lead is a grumpy archmage with warm heart. I like that he doesn't force her and she respects his boundary too.
Spoiler

Also, I like that their magic affinity is the exact opposite, you know opposite attracts 😌

[collapse]

The world building is also better than some novels that I read.

Spoiler

Also FL doesn't have the memory of the original Dahlia, so I find it interesting to get to know what happened to original Dahlia and the reason why she acted the way she did bit by bit and putting it together from the MC perspective as well as the connection it has to the enemies' plan.

[collapse]

I wish that I found this novel a bit later when the chapter already piled up and almost finish. I can't bare to see that there is no next chapter and I have to wait for months/years so I can see the end. Anyway, five stars to the author and translation team! <<less
