Hyperthymesia. Those with this condition can remember every detail of their lives from something as significant as the world’s turning point to something as small and as insignificant as a minor fleeting thought. They cannot forget and their thirst for knowledge allows them to be considered genius in some senses.

Legend has it that Ji Yushi was this kind of genius.

In addition, it was said that he was gay and very beautiful.

As soon as the news that he was going to support Tianqiong’s seventh squad broke out, it sent everyone buzzing.

Everyone knew that the captain of the seventh squad, Song Qinglan, was a hoodlum and deeply homophobic.

He not only relied on his super-powerful abilities to become the dark horse on the battlefield in less than two years, but he also hates it when those at the top forced a flower vase* into his squad.

Sure enough, Song Qinglan announced in front of everyone, “Useful? Us brothers are going out there working ourselves to the bone, we don’t need a little genius who can only speedread quantum waves!”

Later.

The squad was forced into a dire situation during their mission.

That beautiful little genius calmly continued, every gunfire hitting the mark, his fighting power peaking.

Song Qinglan begged in front of everyone, “Adviser Ji, stay.”

In the end, he added, “I’ll work myself to the bone for you.”

*****

Ji Yushi had a secret.

He would often be awake at night, suffering from memory overload and recurring nightmares.

There was only one thing that could let him fall asleep peacefully.

And that was Song Qinglan.

Such a complete blend of action, romance, and intrigue. The author really thought out the whole plot and everything in the beginning relates to the ending. MC and ML have such a nice dynamic and there isn’t much of that “will they, won’t they” drama.

I usually don’t like novels that have arcs where they travel to different places but all the arcs connect and the side characters are all great.

I laughed, I swooned, I cried. This pretty much sums up my experience while reading this amazing novel.

I really admire the author for being able to craft such an intricate plot in addition to an overall amazing romance. Ji Yushi and Song Qinglan have quickly become my new OTP. As someone who usually enjoys a fast paced romance I found this slow burn to be so delightfully executed that even if you’re usually not into that I’d still recommend for you to give it a try. You will definitely won’t... more>> be disappointed. The relationship actually had a realistic build up and it just made everything more impactful and emotional that way.

Please drop everything and just read this novel! You will not regret it!

PS: Kudos to the translator as well. They made this whole experience even better and I’m so thankful that I get to enjoy this novel without the constraints of MTL. <<less

It started off strong and continued strong and ended strong so had to binge it in a day and I have to admit that it’s all worth it; probably reread it again when I’m more clearheaded. But it’s one of the best novels I’ve ever read and top it off it’s written very well and thought through.

everything I come to like was put together in this work.

The context of time and space of this fictional story was something I also believed at some point, theoretically. So it was not tedious to read but also interesting.

This was one of the few well written novels. The plot holes were almost non- existent, almost everything explained clearly (granted my few brain cells might have had some, okay a lot of trouble grasping on to it) and the progression of the relationship too beautiful. Their relationship is actually healthy, a rare thing you see in CN novels. The translator did an exceptional job on this one.

I'm a sucker for time travel and psychological thrillers and this story keeps you interested through every arc, with the bonus of being a BL. Even if it wasn't BL, I'd still read this story because it's that good. The first arc did amazing to capture your attention.

This novel takes time travel and covers any other aspect of it you can (or can't) think of, but also covers loopholes that comes with time travel. I'm the person who loves to guess what's happening and I try to find logic and... more>> meaning in every action. That tends to let me down on novel's that don't explain well, but this novel explains practically everything. The plot was thrilling and I was excited to see how each arc would play out. What's crazy is how things start connecting towards the end. MC is well fleshed out and doesn't turn into a typical 'damsel in distress' with nightmares. He's strong willed but not all powerful, except with his accuracy in shooting. He's also smart. Not the smart as in every character is s*upid except for him, but real smarts and really thought provoking. His relationship with ML developed flawlessly for their situation, and the love they share isn't twisted but deep. This is a good read for time travel/time loop/dimension lovers, BL, or just seriously good plot. <<less

A mind-blowing & satisfying read. The story is really fascinating and exciting. Glad that I finished this, this is so so good! Although there are times where I was left confused by the heavy complicated information and times where my brain couldn't quite keep up with the progress, however, my curiosity in the plot twist kept me on sit and yesss, it all makes sense by the end! Author sama is truly AMAZING. I'm left in awe at how she came up with such an impressive story and worldbuilding. KK's... more>> way of translating it without missing the charm of the original work is definitely praiseworthy. I'm gonna miss MC&ML, they are such a smart lovely couple🥰 Highly recommend! Definitely worth your time! Give it a go💖 <<less

Calling this story unlimited-flow feel limiting. I never read an unlimited-flow which really feel like one big journey. Or one that actually start with love and end with love.

We usually set aside an experience of one mission for a new one, which make the experience feel pointless in the big picture aside for some scattered characters development, but we definitely cannot do that to this book.

At first I was afraid that I cannot follow the 'mystery', but it's actually pretty easy to understand aside some detail of mechanisms that you... more>> can just gloss over. Still, it's very brilliant with a lot feel.

My complains are that there are very little scenes on the lovable straight guys of the seven squad and other amazing side characters. The small antagonistic characters also only has uninteresting motives - actually, like not at all. Some major sentimental scenes also feel sort to its potential. If it's written better I can easily cry bucket. I only almost drop a tear at one scene.

But the dog food is real, the romance definitely is too. This story is not about two people who fell in love during or because of missions. But about how a pair of lover come to be, about how one work hard to save the other, and basically their journey to be the iconic gay couple of the company. No, love actually play really major part in this story, but it'll be a great spoiler. At least, know that it doesn't disturb the flow of the great mystery of the whole book, or a side addition to it, like the usual unlimited-flow story out there.

Spoiler

The scene where Captain Song confessed to Advisor Ji is enough to cover up any flaw in this book.

stop dwelling and jump into it.

the plot is well planned, very detailed, didn't find any plot holes, the side characters, side plots, and the MCs I love almost everything about this novel, remember EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

you think you're smart? We'll see about that, you think you're dumb? Than be prepared for throbbing headaches. I personally belong to the later group so here's a tip, write down the things done in each arc because everything in the novel is connected.

I loved every bits of it. Plot-driven and the scenes were described vividly. Comedic antics of the characters were mixed nicely and does not feel out of place. Could really imagine it as a movie especially the first mission. This was such a nice read after a long time! Absolutely recommended.

To the author, thank you so much for your wonderful brain.

This is one of the best novels I've ever read. The plot, the twists, the romance and vivid characters!

Although some of the logical explanations confuse me momentarily at times, that doesn't take off any points at all since it's somewhat understandable that I don't have that much knowledge about time and it's mysteries.

But dang! This is gold!

Thank you translator, for allowing me to read this wonderful novel.

Probably one of my favourite novels now. And I'll explain the important points for me so thank you if read it till the end (there're no plot spoilers here).

I was reluctant to read it because people said it was confusing at first and since there's no "romance" tag I thought this would be more plot focused and would bring me headaches lol.

How wrong I was. Not only the plot is so well done, the romance here it's really satisfying.

Normally sci-fi novels would leave the romance subplot unattended until the very... more>> last chapters and it would feel a bit rushed sometimes.

BUT THIS NOVEL FREAKING DESERVES ALL THOSE 5 STAR REVIEWS

  • First, time travel plots are really complicated but this author made it so that we could see a really well made journey with almost no plot holes. Of course it won't be 100% perfect (there might be things you are still a bit confused about..?) but how the author connected all the important points and details throughout the whole story it makes it really mind-blowing. The confusing parts are not a problem because it is explained while the main characters discover clues about their situation so you don't feel left out and you also feel the thrill of slowly discovering the truth and MC and ML work so well even if they aren't the best of friends at first lol.
  • There're bits of heavy suspension and some scary parts/jumpscares (?) if you read it in the dark at 3-4am like me (i felt my heart beating so hard during those times dang) and it's quite exciting but take that in mind if you're a bit of a scardy cat like me.
  • Now, about the romance and sweet dog food here. It is a bit of a slow burn but it isn't annoying to the point you wanna scream because oh boy THE TENSION. You can clearly see the changes the MC and ML go through while doing their missions and their interactions grow more and more the more you read which is nice for a dog food eater like me because it doesn't feel forced at all. They end up depending on each other in some way or another and it's really sweet because both are strong people who are independent and capable but they're still human and having each other gives them what they both needed in their lives. They are a bit slow to be officially together because everything is a bit chaotic but when they are it's literally shameless dog food during the rest of the novel. Overall I feel this is one of the best paced romance subplot because it has a balance with the main plot.
  • Important note about their team: they are a bunch of wholesome idiots. That's all you need to know xD
  • The ending is also quite satisfactory for me. It isn't abrupt and you have time to digest it's ending. Novels have a hard time finishing and sometimes feels like they had to rush for an ending. But this one did it pretty nicely so I'm happy I read this.
DO RECOMMEND NOT READING SPOILERS. IT'S 100 TIMES BETTER WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THE PLOT. Just reading chapter 1 or 2 will make you want to read more.

Translation is pretty much perfect and you'll enjoy it without any problem <<less

characters:

mc: ji yushi

ml: song qinglan

summary ... more>>
Spoiler

MC has hyperthymesia and never forgets a memory. he joins a spacetime management organization and gets sent on missions to past and future to accumulate points so that he can one day see who mu*dered his father. he gets sent on a group mission with ml's team and the mission gets hijacked and they are forced to complete four high stake missions; a zombie apocalypse, space-time repair, alternative bubble universe, and rubiks cube game. MC proves himself to the team on multiple occasions where his uses his memory and intellect to get them out of tricky situations. once all said and done, MC goes back to the past to catch his dads mu*derer, but realizes that the mu*derer is his own father from a different time. when he tries to interfere, inspectors shoot him and he dies. ML and mc's dad work together to find a way to resurrect him using gimmicks in space time, and they finally reunite.

[collapse]

thoughts

BOY THIS NOVEL WAS SOMETHING and it really reminded me of why I love infinite flow novels so much. although its not quite infinite flow the missions all have a layer of depth similar to mind games. the author clearly did a lot of research and proofreading because a lot of the concerns really tied well together in the end. tho there are some plot holes (?) in the grand scheme of things it didnt affect my enjoyment at all.

Spoiler

zombie apocalypse: this was the first mission and early on in the novel and I wasnt really into it yet especially since zombie apocalypses are not really my thing, so a lot was skimmed over. but once the whole time loops started falling into place it became really engaging. I LOVED how the novel goes back to this mission near the end and it kinda tied up some of the loose ends (ie: how did they activate the black wall, what teams 4 5 6 were doing in the meantime, etc). and GOSH THEIR REUNION WAS SO SWEET!!!! truly a love that transcends space and time :')

time repairer: this was a short little mission (the calm before the storm lmao) and at first it was kinda ??? but it was cute and we got to see our couple relax a bit. that being said!! there was something I really dont understand and thats when they decided to rescue squad 12 did NO ONE think that bringing the dead back wont affect their timelines?? it was kinda shocking how the "oops" relevation came much later.

who am i: this mission really f*cked me up like here we are thinking that the main crew is finally done but lo and behold they were transported to a bubble world where the consequences of their actions in the time repairer mission comes back to bite their ass. that said it was also the most freakiest mission and I legit had goosebumps reading some of the parts because it was just straight up uncanny valley levels of creepy. ji yushi and song qinglan develop double memories following their return and realize that the captain qi from squad 12 that they saved earlier had altered their timeline bigtime and replaced their former chief wang as chief. in fact, everyone from squad 7 start to develop double memories. they figure out that theyre in a bubble world and tries to find a way to leave, but the more they act on that, the more the universe tries to stop them - literally. the people in this world behave like npcs out of a horror game and reading about hords of living brainwashed people chasing down qingyu and the squad is more terrifying than a bunch of zombies. that being said, the apocalyptic imagery was insanely well done: phantom images of another world superimposing onto another, people on the streets protesting, mass chaos, it's beautiful. they eventually figure out the key is chief wang as she was the person that underwent the most changes in the bubble world. the person with the most changes is the most unstable variable in this world. how they managed to finish the mission was a bit finicky to me (electromagnetic waves and a telephone call???) but nonetheless it was hands down my favourite arc.

rubiks cube: ok this arc felt the most like a game you'd find in an infinite flow novel and at first it feels really out of place but it still retains the space time concepts of the novel. the majority of the time ji yushi and team were mostly just trying to figure what the rules of this rubiks cube game is. at first they think that you have to join all the colors together like a traditional rubiks cube. they realize its impossible because the nature of the mission is multiplayer, and trying to coordinate movement is impossible. so they realize that its in fact more like a tetris game (!!!!) where the purpose is to collapse cubes of the same color onto each other. they reach the 'center' of the game and realize that each color is a different timeline thats been messed up due to frequent time travelling which results in tangles in time continuity. their purpose is to 'untangle' so that in the end there's only one of each color remaining. overall I found this mission ok but kinda left me with the impression of ?? and really made me think that this whole hijacking event isnt really just AI becoming self aware simply because of the complexity of the mission. like why rubiks cubes? it sounds more like the work of a human being instead.

reality: OK SO THE TEAM IS FINALLY DONE WITH THEIR MISSIONS and get to rest and we finally see ji yushi and song qinglan get together!!!! I really appreciate the author for setting aside a good chunk of the novel towards their relationship development and them just being domestic with each other :') its pretty rare in these times of life and death novels. anyways, ji yushi and song qinglan go together back in time to when ji yushis dad was mu*dered. but in a twist of events they find out that the mu*derer is actually the dad himself from a different timeline, and his purpose is to bring tianqiong back on track from deviating from space time continuity (or smt like that). but he does tell his son that he didnt really die and plans on escaping to another time in space for his research. ji yushi makes the mistake of interferring and gets shot and killed by inspectors.

OK so this part is critical to the whole novel. song qinglan decides to stay in the past and meets with ji yushis dad who then tells him a way to 'resurrect' ji yushi via loopholes in space time. basically, song qinglan needs to go to a time in the future (zombie apocalypse timeline), finish the mission, and tianqiong will automatically transfer BOTH song qinglan and still-alive ji yushi back to their original timeline. this part... makes sense on paper but it really highlights how big of a plot armour ji yushi's hyperthymesia is lol because otherwise ji yushi would be returning without his memories intact. tianqiong reveals that the reason why its doing all of this for them is because squad 7 (with ji yushis intellect and memory) is the group thats most likely to be successful in its missions. they realize that the whole time, their missions were predetermined, and by extention, ji yushi's death was predetermined as well. his dad also knew the outcome, and so helped them along their way by inventing time anchors so that the stakes could be lowered.

ngl I know the dad wasnt the best fatherly figure but he was still someone very dear to ji yushi, and I can tell that he did love his son very much but he has duties which means that his son can only ever be second place. I cried when it was revealed that the dad had been visiting his son every so often during his childhood and keeping tabs on him. its a very bittersweet ending for them though, and its hard to say if theyll ever properly reconcile : (

[collapse]

i also kinda like how some things are left unsaid in the novel; the author wrote a very big ambitious world and naturally our squad 7 cant solve every single thing. for instance, theres A LOT behind tianqiong and ji yushis dads research that was hinted at. the implication that many scientist who reportedly went missing or went crazy are really behind the scenes working on tianqiong is kinda exciting especially if you think about how these group of mad scientists, in some unknown pocket of the universe, are the ones responsible for kickstarting the whole time travel shenanigans. theres so much left to be understood in this novel it really does feel boundless. <<less

If your like me and went to the review section to decide whether or not to start this story. I only have one thing to say to you... Press that Ch 1 button RIGHT NOW!!!!!
This novel will literally use your brain in so many levels. Just as it’s about to fry your brain from too much overstimulation you will be fed Dog food to make you keep going! I have read a bunch of similar Time travel setting stories, but this novel will take you on a new experience that is perfectly tailored on how the protagonists grow and love each other through the end. There is not too much face slapping or any over the top unrealistic interactions between both leads. One of the unique setting in this story is that they’re strong independently and became stronger with each other, you will know they have their own weakness just like the rest of us and that will make you grow your love for this story even more. The Mystery and their adventures will make you love them so much!!! They’re love is so pure for each other and NO TOXICITY at all! The other Characters will also make you feel like your in that moment and is part of the group. The Jokes and side side comments that is happening while they’re almost dying will make you die from laughter!! And so this ends my review for this story 💯! Recommend!! And why are you even reading my comment in the first place?! I told you to press that Read button! GOO!!!

An absolutely brilliant and fascinating novel that pressures your brain to work properly. I stayed up late to finish this and I enjoyed every second of it. Kudos to the translators, they have done a very good job. Make sure to concentrate while reading, or else you won't understand anything. Even the most trivial things that are barely described in a paragraph might be one of the most important keys to the story. If you're looking for romance, this might not be for you. Their relationship progresses VERY slowly, but... more>> rest assured, you will see many cute moments between the ML and the MC along the way. It'll be confusing in the beginning, but everything will make sense in the end.

This story focuses more on the plot and the mysteries that they have to solve in each arc. It's normally easy for me to get bored, but this novel was a different case for me. I was so immersed in their adventures that I forgot to notice the lack of romance, haha. Something that rarely happens to me unless it has a mind-blowing plot (for example, Priest's works.) Everyone in the 7th squad is also amusing, supportive, and kind. Despite the difference in their personalities, they make an extremely excellent team. Don't worry, you won't see a twist where one of the comrades betray the squad or something similar. They're the type of straight men that are loyal to their favorite bros.

Oh, there will be smut, albeit not too detailed. The kissing scenes are A+, too.

DON'T read this for major spoilers about ML and MC (many plot twists!) .

Spoiler

ML has been in love with MC for a VERY long time. Perhaps this is why I feel like ML has been drawn to MC from the beginning, probably the moment he sees MC/when he watches MC playing Tetris during class. The three cats that MC owns had been from ML. The guy that eyef*cked ML in the gay bar had been ML, too (this was barely mentioned by MC during the first arc!). I suggest you read the novel to understand further, but the thing is after their relationship was established, MC and ML traveled back to the past to find out about the 'mu*der' of MC's father, MC was killed by accident and it made ML extremely depressed. ML then had to travel to the past during the first arc to be able to meet MC again and they became the future team! There was a dialogue between Future!MC&ML that you'll find strangely familiar, haha. Seriously, everything is connected that it's astonishing. I forced my brain to remember the details, so when I saw many "what-seems-like trivial" things revealed in the end, it made me really excited. The feeling was thrilling, really.

[collapse]

DON'T read this for major spoilers about my favorite scenes.

Spoiler
    • ML's public confession and everyone is like "YAS, GET HIM, CAP SONG! WE SUPPORT YOU!"
    • Every scene related to ML drinking a jug of vinegar from thinking MC is a player who has three boyfriends, LOL. My favorite one so far is when MC knows ML is looking at him but purposely saying that "he misses his boyfriends." IT WAS SO HILARIOUS.
    • Every scene that features ML kabedoning MC.
    • Their first kissing scene. The author nearly wrote a whole chapter about it and it was delicious.
    • The action in "Ouroboros" arc was very thrilling. You will find yourself feeling nervous. There are lots of gore and blood, though.
    • The creepy scenes where ML holds MC's hands as they escape from thousands of strangers staring at them blankly during "Who Am I" arc. I read this part at 3am... and I don't think I want to do this again, RIP.
      [collapse]
This novel has a lot of memorable scenes that you won't forget. Don't hesitate to give it a try. You certainly won't regret anything. <<less
