This novel is one that will kill your braincells and makes you wreck your brain to understand the plot, but it really suits my taste. I love everything about it starting from the characters, the plot, and the twists. The translation is also done very smoothly so I didn't have much diffculty understanding the plot. Although there are some parts that I didn't quite catch up; especially the part with small circles within big circles thing, it didn't affect the understanding of the whole novel. But even so this story is really good, I like how the plot connect itself and the way author conclude the story.

This novel is very good, so very very good. It made me cry quite a lot and cursed a lot. He MC.

Characters: MC is smart, too smart sometimes but still cute. I like how there's a story about why MC became that way. MC seems human and has feelings. The ML is kinda annoying at first but you'll soon realised that ML cares a lot about his teammates. ML has a lot of good qualities. Beautifully written!

Actually I'm quite surprised that it turned out so good because I didn't expect... more>> much. There wasn't any dull moments or times where I lost my train of thoughts. Concept of time, its importance and its consequences play a heavy role in this novel. This novel is full of mysteries and plot twists. Reading novels about time travel requires a lot of effort and focus because it will only goes two ways for the readers, either you will fail to understand it and leave you confuse, or you will feel confuse but you will still hit all the marks in the end. Maybe because both the author and the translator done a great job in both translating and writing!

Overall Rating: 4.8

-0.2 because the second to last arc I was wanting more about the backround of these systems. Had a good Premise and followed through as best as it could be without dragging the novel. <<less

Beautifully written! Actually I'm quite surprised that it turned out so good. There wasn't any dull moments or times where I lost my train of thoughts. The characters are well-rounded and entertaining. I still dislike MC's dad, even after he did whatever he could to redeem himself (ب_ب)

The MC and ML are truly tailor-made for eachother. They aren't omnipotent and have their flaws but their strengths aren't something we can overlook. Their relationship is so wholesome, even with the other characters and I love how they progress their relationship... more>> steadily but not too slowly.. From acknowledging one's strength, values and mutual respect to friendship and finally romance.

Even the side love interest ain't pesky at all. Overall it's worth investing your time on it.

The translation team did a wonderful job bringing more flavour into it. <<less

I'm heartbroken that it has ended. Otherwise it was a really enjoyable ride. MC, ML, side characters, everyone was 10/10, even reading about cap Song and the cats was funny, the misunderstandings were well played and properly explained on a good time.

Even with all the time travel and all the complicated theory stuff, the whole novel wasn't some short hard to read sci-fi brain overused thing. It was at an level wich is good to understand and also well explained. At least all my quests about the plot were explained... more>> until the end and I didn't notice any plot hole and it didn't felt plot heavy or dragged.

The romance was enjoyable too, first part had trusty building, zombies and gore, latter half a little bit of drama to spicy things, fluffy to cure the heart and a healthy love development to save my soul. I loved all of the interactions between MC and ML, the development of the relationship was smooth and natural, when they got together it wasn't dragged or hushed, it was well connected to the whole time travel thing. MC very clearly states that he is gay and ML, even being said to be a homophobic wasn't an tr*shy seme-I'm-not-gay, it is explained later why he is supposed to be homophobic and that wasn't a cause of drama or super dragged thing, it's even funny how MC treated it.

Cap Song is really funny with his little jealousy with Ji Yushi and Advisor Ji is cute when holding grudges (he never forgets lol).

The other members of the seventh squad were so funny, almost everytime they did something funny I was laughing with them. Every side character felt real and had a personality of it's own, without being like novels that fell heavy with a lot of characters coming and going. Everyone got a share of screen time and care.

Author made a wonderful job, characters, plot, world building, romance development and ending, everything felt satisfactory and deserve a 5/5 review.

About the translation: English isn't my first language and I learned it autodidact, so I really appreciate goods translations, they make the process of reading smooth and pleasant. I had a good and smooth ride thanks to the translator, who made a good work. <<less

I finished the whole book in 2 days and it was a roller coaster ride. I loved the whole book and it's made me want to read more books of this genre. Best book I have read out of the hundreds of other books on NovelUpdate. A nice refresher from the books that make me question my IQ.

Very captivating but at times super confusing. I gave up trying to understand the puzzles 😅

The ending part about the MC and his dad brought a tear to my eyes.

A really good book with a lot of action and plot and sufficient romance to make you smile.

I LOVE IT. 100% recommended. If ur doubtful just try reading the first chapter, cause it hooked me just from there. I can't believe that it's not that known, probably cause it's only 100+ chapters. I love this so much, I love our MC, Ji Yushi, our ML Song Qinglan and the rest of seventh squad

engrossed and read it non stop. There were many complicated stuffs but I didn't really rack my brain to understand it cause there were single phrases which basically explains the overview... more>> of the situation. This is my type of plot. At first I was worried that it might be too complex but when I started reading it, I literally couldn't stop. Now its gonna be hard to find a novel after finishing reading such a good one. The ratings says it all, deserve!

I love how Ji Yushi was portrayed as being cold but was still able to show how human he is, unlike some stories where their human characteristics feels non existent just to make the MC a cool cold person. I love his vengeful side hahahah I like how human he reacts to the gore scenes. I just love all his sides

I also got really attached to our ML, Song Qinglan. He is a different overbearing type of ML, and its unique to see an ML who isn't expressionless and all that, I get to really see how people respect and have trust in him. Even Ji Yushi. I love this kinds of MLs. He's a really great leader and he knows what he has to do so that his squad members won't lose their hope.

The development of the relationship was honestly so smooth. I love Cap Song's straightforwardness and lol with how Advisor Ji replied hehehe. I really felt the love and I really laughed at times. I love their dynamics, power couples ftw, it reminds me of TEIO's tang mo and fu wenduo (i cant believe I remember their names so clearly). I love ambiguous stares fr ahhahaha s*xual tension when fighting? Yes pls

. There is just a right amount of censorship here (srsly, no to censorship pls)

It was a really engrossing read, I wish it was longer cause I just want more hngg. I love how it's focused on our MC and ML, there were no unnecessary side couples and point of views. I also like how I thought they wouldn't explain something but they do in the next chapter, it's satisfying. I guess what made it shorter was the lack of pov of the other squad members but it was perfect for me. The title too was sweet hehhe how Song Qinglan was the one who removes the mist in Ji Yushi's life. Btww it wasn't mentioned how Ji Yushi's hyperthymesia doesn't work on cap song, or how cap song's presence help in his hyperthymesia.

  1. Beginning - ugh, so nice. At first I was skeptical if I would like Ji Yushi but, what a useless worry. You really get to see how messy seventh squad is hahahah I liked it, I couldn't stop when I said I'll just try it hehehe
  2. Ouroboros - Oh, this was so complicated and I can really see how hard the author worked for the concept of this, it is so confusing but I liked it very much. UGh, I just love it. How Ji Yushi showed his skill but also his vulnerability, the beginning of the ambiguous atmosphere between Cap Song and Advisor Ji. Also the way their future selves killed their previous selved HAHAHA when I remember the time that they realized they were the one who ran over themselves hahahah. The wall slamming, lol evolved from beating up HAHAHA How Ji Yushi finally felt the feeling of being with comrades and then also seeing how they die huhu protect cinnamon roll squad pls. The small spaces that Cap Song and Advisor Ji always get stuck together hehe~ The ending wasn't expected, the fact that they were the one who opened the 'black wall' I love the teamwork and how they didn't lose any hope. Seventh squad really is the best squad heheh Ji Yushi fits perfectly. How Ji Yushi recognizes Tang Le and Tang Qi and how Tang Le reacts hahaha Duan wen committing su*cide hmp hmp
  3. Chaos - heheh big beard, op Ji Yushi with knowing their language. Anfalahagenhe (?) Hasuloma heheheh though it wasn't used here. Cap Song being smaller HEHEH Cap song and advisor ji beating up big beard hahaha woah with how the twelfth team came back, time is such a weird concept. Ohh, the scary city hatch, a day is 8 years? Woah. How we got to hear about Sheng Yun. Them holding hands heheeh, the nice sceneries hehe couple sightseeing
    . Again, I also really loved this.
  4. Who am I - whoah, this was such a nightmare, I read this at night before sleeping and I actually kinda regret it cause I got a bit scared with how the auntie just looks at Ji Yushi's door. So so creepy. It's also a nightmare cause of how you thought ur back and ur cautiousness is nowhere, but then realize that it's just another trap uhh. I also really thought they were back. I love how Cap Song still appeared to be composed and their handcuff stuff hehehe Li Chun knows Cap Song's kinks HAHHAHA Zhou Mingxuan (?), really though they'd allow him to stay, it's good that they didn't, I love the way Ji Yushi said that "A bubble is just a bubble after all. After that regret of yours is satisfied, it would eventually fade away, but your life won't. What would you do alone here when the time comes? Unless of course the purpose of your life is just for that one thing."
    I think it's a thing that authors can recreate, like same thoughts different words hahhaa, it's really good. This was literally Cap Song and Advisor Ji's adventures HAHAHA The first time they interacted as more than team members ehehhe love them. Lol with Cap Song's misunderstanding about the 'boyfriends' hahaha seriously.
  5. Transfer station 2.0 - Ji Yushi talking about his 'boyfriends' ahahhaha Tabletop cleaner? Hahahaha So funny and relaxing. How Cap Song was secretly drinking vinegar hahaha Also, when he realized loll, he really had Ji Yushi's room as the most comfortable place in his subconscious. Their fights hahaha they really want their Cap Song to lose. I love their cheering.
  6. Rubik's Cube - oh, this was so complex.. I'd literally die here without being able to do anything. The way Morita Yu died ohh, Zhou Mingxuan being used to test out rooms ugh so scary, Li chun separating from Tang Qi cause of a girl AHHAHA Cap Song's beard return HAHAHA Lin Xinlan seeing Cap Song's stares to Ji Yushi hehehe ~the chocolate~. Seeing Shen Yun, oh I felt so bad for Ji Yushi, the corner of his eyes being red, aww. The real purpose of joining the rooms with the same colors. Tho I still didn't really get it hahahah Ji Yushi's breakdown aww and their fight aww. How Song Qinglan said to wait for him and how Ji Yushi said Hasuloma awww. Li chun be really ruining their all together return journey ahhahaha
  7. Our reality - hehehe really, best chapters. How Song Qinglan confesses in front of the whole seventh squad HAHAHA I didn't expect that they would be eavesdropping and that Song Qinglan would continue #MadRespectCapSong. I really like the seventh squad's teasing~ Their datee and how Song Qinglan realized that Ji Yushi is Sheng Han and his Han Han hahahha. Ji Yushi secretly eating vinegar with the dice hahaha. Oh how I love how straightforward Ji Yushi is, when he said that ' I though you would make me lie under Cap Song' HAHAHAH and Everyone was !!! Go go go. But he goes, too late. AHAHAHAHA Love how Ji Yushi said how he wants to experience how it is to go with someone.. Seventh squad interrupting their date ahahhaa Ji Yushi drunk
    . Oh my, how Song Qinglan did his public coming out ahhahaa #MadRespectCapSong
  8. Cycle/1436 - ooh, this was just interesting. I couldn't believe Ji Yushi would die here and why Sheng Yun was said to have su*cide. I kinda had an idea that Ji Yushi would be the one running onto his younger self but the next events were unexpected. So that's why the cats like Song Qinglan, and he was the pe*vert staring at Ji Yushi when he was younger HAHAHAHA and how their hijacking happened, woah. So cool. How Sheng Yun was happy to know that there's a Song Qinglan in Ji Yushi/Sheng Han's life
  9. Overload - This was really torture for the Cap Song and Advisor Ji lol, can see but can't touch. And how they both felt sad when they saw the previous version of their partner and how they don't see love in their eyes aww. How Ji Yushi didn't know anything and thought that Song Qinglan promising to be with him forever wasn't real. I am so glad they found a way to see each other.
  10. Resplendent times - heheh I just remember here how Sheng Yun actually takes care of Sheng Han/Ji Yushi behind the scenes, aww. Love them all!!

I can't help wanting to write a mini review for this one, honestly.

It's just a very well thought out, well-written, smart novel. It's mainly about time travel and theories surrounding the ideas of space and time. I have no idea about the accuracy of any of the stuff mentioned, but it was still a thoroughly enjoyable and almost thought-provoking read. It's not until the end that you realize the author really planned everything out from the start.

And the romance! Ah, it was just right for me. It didn't take away... more>> from any of the plot itself. Honestly, the author balanced the romance and action/plot very well and gave each enough focus to be fun to read for everyone. Both characters are strong from the start and intelligent, and the relationship is really quite cute. The tacit understanding and slow realization of feelings (mixed with some tiny & funny misunderstandings that get resolved relatively quickly, so you don't get annoyed) made everything feel really well-paced on that end of things.

Overall, just super enjoyable read. I'm glad I found it! And also, thank you for the translation KK! With how many things are explained, I'm sure that was a bit of a struggle, but it was really well rendered in the end~ <<less

All the information and thinking process was totally MINDBLOWING wtf!

Ji Yushi I love you to bits~ you totally deserve all the love in the world~~ can't wait to reread this (ಥ _ ಥ)

I love it! It’s not my genre but it made me amazed.

I like the structure of the world, all the timelines and cycles. It was all explained the more you read and all the details become more clear and I could understand more and more of how amazing this book and this author are. The first time is could blow your mind a little, with all the info and strange stuff happening, but I took it all good and quickly got used to it.

It was an amazing experience. The world... more>> and the characters are so good. I like the chemistry between the main couple. I love the main couple and all the seventh squad. It’s amazing.

I really recommend you to give it a go. This is a hidden gem. You will not be disappointed! <<less

A very very recommended read!! I seldom like scifi futuristic BL but this one is different. The story is well written although I don't understand some of the concepts behind the theories lol. But I like that it gives me new knowledge.

The characters are well like, the love story is slow burn but it's still sweet!And I can imagine the grandeur of the worlds they went thru and thought wow so tis is what it would've looked like if humans were to be able to travel the universe.

I don't even know what to say what the heck. I feel empty that an amazing story such as this, has perfectly ended. This is truly a masterpiece! True to its tag, definitely recommended!

I'm 50-50 regarding time travel/paradox, because of many plot holes or it's not that interesting for me, but this one got me hooked and I can say that the plot holes are minimized! (Or might be my dumb brain can't process properly anymore lmao) I've already lost count on how many times I was mind-blowned by this.... more>> I continuously doubted not just the story, but also myself

The world building, character development, side characters, missions, plot twists, explanation, everthing --- it was splendidly executed! It all made sense! I can't phatom how long did it took for the author planned and made this.

Everything felt real;scenes that are well explained you can visualize it properly, characters had flaws, they are not perfect and make mistakes, but they fix it and move on. All of it just makes you engrossed.

I absolutely loved every scenes, on how my "what did just happen" to the "AHA! That's whyy" moment, and especially

when their confession time took place, it was so gratifying because of how wholesome and sweet it was, and I knew the hardships and near death experiences they faced before concluding their feelings

This is a gem 10/10 every praise about this novel deserved. Its so good I just couldnt sit still reading this. All emotions from sad, happy, anger and relief can be felt reading this. It really knows how to strap me on to my phone reading this. I am absolutely in love with the science fiction. Some are confused but as a science major, this was so entertaining especially when it comes to the theories involving time and parallel universes. This story wraps every thing nicely and id reread this... more>> definitely.

I don’t know how to write review. I think everyone should give this a try, you won’t regret it! Reading this was such a roller coaster, the plot and the characters absolutely amazing. Kudos for the author and translator. I need more novels like this one. 5 stars

"Mist" is the kind of novel that grows on you. At least as someone who had not ever questioning about how multiverse works, that's how I felt. After the first few chapters when you really get the gist of what's going on, it's getting really interesting. More and more, as the mission progressed.

The leads' relationship dynamic is great, and as other reviewers have noted, I love the way Ji Yushi held grudges. Also, with how Song Qinglan keeps praising Ji Yushi's beauty and always seems to have the advisor in... more>> his line of sight, there's just no way he is as straight as he thinks (lol).

With all those mission and finally coming back to their original world, I'd never expect the drama that got thrown right in my face.

Ji Yushi's sudden death left me confused for a moment. And even after he has returned, for me, their sweet reunion is still tainted with a bitter aftertaste. I just can't bring myself to forget that Song Qinglan has lost his lover only days after they confirmed their feelings and he has to travel in time as a way to cope.

Like, no matter what, in that few chapters, Ji Yushi had died. Well, maybe because I'm the type that's easily affected.
