Arc 1 started off as pretty average, until the final chapters when the MC is put in what should be an extremely traumatic experience that he at first believed that the ML perpetrated. But, when the ML said that it was actually his father who did it, the MC just BELIEVED IT IMMEDIATELY. Although the audience knows it was really the father's initiative, how does it make sense for the MC, with how s*upidly convinced he is that the ML is out for revenge, to believe that?
And after then the ML just imprisons MC, and the MC at first tries to leave, but when the ML catches him, he never tries it again. Then when he finds out that the ML was stalking him this whole time abd had been tracking him through his phone, his anger is just superficial. Even when he finds out that his bestfriend/cousin (who is secretly in love with him, BTW) gifted him that phone KNOWING that the ML had bugged it, he just drops it off even when that cousin answers him vaguely.
This just doesn't make sense at all. The MC treats this world as his real world because he has no memories of his original one, how can he not be traumatized or angry at the stalking, kidnapping, s*xual assault, and confinement he experiences? It bothered me so much how the author seems to have written this while not knowing or deliberately ignoring how wrong his situation is.
The ML is simply unredeemable. I kind of liked him at the start, but then the final parts of the story kicked in. I understand his actions based on his character, and I also understand that he's a f*cking crazy as*hole who's more obsessed with the MC than in love with him. He doesn't really care if the MC is happy as long as he's with him. He only worries about MC's wellbeing when the solution to MC's problems is not to get away from him and have a healthy relationship with someone else.
To be honest, I feel like the cousin's secret love was just added so that he would have a reason to allow ML to stalk MC 'to protect him', no matter how little sense it makes.
I tried reading the second arc to see if it would be better, but then the ML there is just extremely annoying and will probably also sexually assault MC in the end, if the fact that he already unapologetically touches, smells, and intrudes on the MC's personal space in CHAPTER 1 of THIS ARC after only HAVING JUST MET HIM is anything to go by.
Those dark themes aren't really bad by themselves, but only when their psychological and physical consequences are acknowledged and they are presented in a realistic light, not in this bullsh*t manner when the plot treats it like hehe XD MC got mol*sted by the ML and it's fine because the ML is only doing this because he can't hold back the tremendous amount of love he feels for our MC lol.
This was more of a rant than a review, but that is why I dropped this and am giving this such a low rating. 1/5 for the plot and 2/5 for the entertainment. It's sad that Arc 1 was so cute at first, when the only irritating part of the plot was the useless and annoying system.
