Like Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil... but lower quality, or Don't Pick Up Boyfriends from the tr*sh Bin, but a /much/ lower quality version. This novel can get incredibly unrealistic at times--moments that have you going like "Right, I know he's the MC and all... but the process for so-and-so really doesn't work like that."

Ex. When the MC was 'stealing artists' (2nd arc) from a scummy rival celebrity manager... the contracts of the second-line artists he was stealing were broken far too easily, no court stuff, no nothing...... more>> even though in the real world, if you want to break a contract before its expiry date, there's a ton of sh*t and compensation and months of back-and-forth that you have to go through before you can make it happen. See the Kpop industry, those artists that want to break their contracts have at least a year of sh*t to go through before they're able to leave their companies. Entertainment contracts simply aren't broken that easily, especially if you ain't some megastar, and it serves to mention that Luo Tong's (the scum manager) company is a shady one, so the celebrities are even less likely to break their contracts so easily.

That just came off as so... impossibly unreal for me. Couldn't suspend my disbelief for that one.

Anyways~ That's pretty much all you need to know. I mean QWFOD was also unrealistic but this one is just... upped a few levels. The system is practically useless, and the ML isn't super overbearing, so I guess that's a plus.

You can see by this short review that I really could care less about the novel. Although my jam is to usually give an in-depth review, this one's just average. It ain't horrible and it ain't stellar either. So read it if you will, or just skip it. I know some people love the dog-blood unrealistic fantasy face-slapping genre... so go off and do you sis. <<less

I was a little wary because QWFOD is the top rec but decided to give it a chance,

The first arc was interesting enough. I didn't like how ... more>>

the ML being two people at once was never explained. the brief interlude between worlds fine, adds to mystery, but it seemed like there should have been a purpose to the two people and there wasn't? Unless it's going to be explained later; either way it was a bit of an unsatisfying arc ending.

The arc also ended pretty abruptly, showing that our MC can't choose when he wants to leave the world.

The second arc is a bit... depressing. The ML gets almost no screen time, and they deal with a bunch of heavy topics. Which is interesting enough, but I wanna see the romance and the doting love interest listed in the tags! Some of the face slapping is fun, even if I somehow don't have a completely clear idea of who the villains are, other than that they're villains. <<less

I quite liked this one. The MC is independent, but sometimes takes help from ML. I feel pity for the ML in the first 2 arcs. Hopefully, things will look better in the 3rd one. MC's relationship with his system is very cute.

The one thing I disliked was that the arcs seemed unnecessarily long. I read QTs because I want to go through each arc quickly. Here each arc took more than 30chapters. That gives you a lot of details but at the same time, it can become tiring.

Overall OK.... more>> 👍 <<less

Frigging hell, the arcs are so long but they’re sooooooo good. I don’t think I’ve read such a good arc in a while now. The MC is smart, and there’s

Strong, intelligent MC so far, who deals with the situations on his own - minimal MC/system interactions (though the system is pretty s*upid...). The backstory of ML is still unclear so far, probably will be resolved in the last arc (as some sort of Godly fellow, powerful enough to force MC to transmigrate)...

Many of the characters are not even given names, and are referred to as 'the young man', 'the net celebrity', 'the cousin brother' etc... 'Masochistic characters' in the Tag seem to fit the first arc pretty well!
