Trash of the Count’s Family

When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] was a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han, a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the tr*sh of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, is destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this s*upid tr*sh who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

“…This is going to be a headache.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

One of my favorite novels so far! The main character is intelligent and the storytelling doesn't get dull and constantly makes you want to know what's next (in other words it's pretty fast paced but doesn't feel rushed). The author also doesn't think us readers are braindead and have to explain ever little thing to us. So it's nice to read some implied gestures and incidents that makes us feel happy we figured it out. Side characters may disappear on and off but they are never forgotten. So an incident... more>> with them may come back up after 50 - 100 chapters or so. <<less

This is a great novel guys! Though there are some negative reviews. It was a great novel if you understand it thoroughly. (Though the shield eat the vitality of the heart, the vitality of the heart still has its own original healing abilities, not because the shield eat/merge with it, it will lose its own powers. Just saying)

Though this story hasn't finish it, it made laugh, cry, and very moved or even it made me shock and mind-blown.

It has a great character development and world background.

The story itself is... more>> pretty interesting. Read further until the latest chapter and you will know how good this was. <<less

Fellow lurkers! Please read this! If you're like me and like to scour the reviews first before deciding to invest your time into a series, please stop at this review. Just read it. I know I know. It goes against our nature, but I promise this story is worth it. I'm new to novelupdates and was a little intimidated with the amount of chapters this has, but good googly moogly did I burn through these chapters like a crack addict. First of all, no harem, yay. Second, all of the... more>> characters in this story are wonderful. I ended up falling in love with everyone and couldn't wait to see where their adventures would take them. THE PLOT TWISTS. GAH! I could go on all day about how much I love this series. Just read it please. You won't regret it. I didn't. Go on now, git! Start it already. Geez. <<less

This is by far the most fun novel I have read. It has really strong plot armor but what I like about this is that there's a lot going on. It's never been boring so far. Its a kind of plot that there's a grand scheme of things going on from what it seems.

At first the plot seems to follow Cale (not his original name but is mostly his identity now) as he is transmigrated as Cale Henituse in the book called Birth of Hero. The main protagonist is destine... more>> to fight a long and harrowing battle. But the catch is that it's not finished.

Cale who enjoys his current identity but is lacking one thing which can only be fulfilled if the potential danger is gone. Cale has a set of beliefs that has never changed throughout the story. A character who wants nothing more but just be, that is a slacker. Cale is really an enjoyable character that I like but also a lot of people also sort of like him. Though a lot of misunderstanding has been going on and only the people who knew him quite well just sympathies it.

These people are my favorites. And a few of them and also my top favorites has the best kind of relationships with Cale.

While the villain is quite typical kind of villain. He is not a villain to be joked with. As he is a threat that is the level of catastrophic if he is not stopped.

The author also made the world building rather interesting. O find myself fascinated by a lot of new things as I read along. Either it's the kingdoms, the people, the mystics and legendary beings, and even the gods.

Although some jokes seems kinda ridiculous. It has a bit of charm to it.

I can see why a lot of people like this. I can't wait for more updates from the author. <<less

Every time this novel almost loses me, it introduces a great new element to keep it engaging for the next 20 chapters. It’s a bit contrived in the beginning, but once he stops relying on the original novels information it really picks up the pace. It’s been doing a great job at keeping the momentum going so far, and I’m excited to see how it will continue.

I've got to say, I'm pretty blown away by how addicted I am by this book. Not many novels would keep me wanting more after 300 chapters.

For a story that revolves around one MC who can pretty much do no wrong, it seems generic. He's OP without meaning to be, everyone loves him, and even though he's "tr*sh", he's convinced everyone unknowingly that he is the brightest star in existence. However, the side characters that surround him are ENDEARING. I LOVE THEM. I love that there's no real romance, but... more>> there's LOVE between everyone. They fight to protect him and he fights to protect them.

And even after 300 chapters, things keep surprising me. More and more threads come together to paint a much much bigger world than I imagined as twists and turns about the the MC, the past, the present and the world itself is revealed and hidden.

I look forward to reading another 300 chapters, a little sad that WuXia World had to stop translating due to differences with the author/publisher, but hopefully someone else will take up the mantle! <<less

Really, really good. I mean, everyone can agree that it is. In the beginning, I wasn't at all interested in this novel. It as just recommended to me by an online friend, since I was suffering from Book Hangover and she said that reading other novels will help. So, I tried it out, and bro I felt so guilty for some reason reading another novel. It felt like I was cheating on my partner or something. Anyways, it started out with that feeling so I paused and stopped constantly. I... more>> kept reading it though until I was finally fully focused on the novel and that feeling of guilt was dull.

It started out fine, the novel was interesting. It was really boring in the beginning though since the progress was slow. I constantly stopped reading the novel to do some other things, but after 60 chapters, it got more and more interesting. The new characters got more interesting. You can feel that Cale is really annoyed too, now that things are getting interesting. And, after 100 chapters, I was hooked. I read the novel like it was my savior, like it was a medicine my doctors told me to take after being addicted to drugs for a while (this is just a reference lmao im not a drug addict). It was my hero, lol. The characters, and the upcoming 'headaches' for Cale made it even more interesting and worthwhile. You won't be disappointed if you read this novel.

The pacing, the plot, and even stuff that were mentioned a hundred chapters back are being mentioned in the new 'headaches' which means they were mentioned for a reason. Even things from the first few chapters appear 500 chapters in the future!! It's amazing. The author is amazing. This novel is really great. I recommend it to everyone that is looking for a novel. It won't disappoint, especially our Raon-nim going "I am the great and mighty Raon Miru!" which is really cute..!

Anyways, it's a great novel. The character development is really obvious when it's mentioned. For example, 4 year old Raon was tsundere Raon, but now 6 year old Raon is so outgoing and jolly around his human! Really a great novel. <<less

This is called a timepiece👍💖😍....

seriously how is everything perfect? 💖 In terms of characters to events..... Even the king of the bear (although I cannot stand him), but he has his own seriousness... It is certain that the author of this novel is a genius no! he is a treasure of mankind 👑...

But I honestly really pity CALE (KRS) He will never fulfill his dream 😢 and he has ruined also the life of KRS in the parallel world by making him-Himself a hero 😧... AGAIN!!,

Man! even his comrades push him because he really deserves to be a hero (except that he denies that😒).....

my God !!!!thanks to the author 💕 and thank you to the translator 💕 Because all of you I have a reason to continue life 😉

I kind of really liked this novel, and still do a bit. But I can't continue reading this writing style. It is always an action, following a reason why he does what he does, following multiple flashbacks of the times he did that action and only then him saying something in response. There is too much happening in the peoples heads. We don't want to know what happens in every single persons head in reaction to something the MC said, we get it. But that isn't the only thing.

It... more>> is unending repetition, with Raon and his 'we are mighty' and with his 'Human, why are you smiling?'.

It is almost at the level of a chinese novel.

While these repetitions are the reason why I will stop reading this. I am a bit bitter about quitting. The story, characters and world are truly one of a kind, the world is suprisingly well built, as are the characters. What I can't handle anymore though, is the presentation of these characters. Maybe if this gets edited in the future I will read it again, but it would be slightly torturous to continue reading this story as it is. The repetitions are lowering the characters to become simpler. Raon for example is only a child, but him always repeating the same words... maybe he won't be able to have a big vocabulary until the day he dies. *sheds a tear* Truly tragic, through these repetitions the author limits the growth of his characters. <<less

I don't see why most people hate this novel!

It's a stunning story with an amazing plot, and characters. It had none of those romance cliches is a plus for me. Most of all, the female characters are really well portrayed!

I've been staying with this story for more than a year. Yes, it has its disadvantage, but, what to do. This is just my cup of tea.

I can't find something more engaging than this series for sometime now.

So, don't worry about other review. Just try it first and maybe this will be your cup of tea.

Alright I'll just say my thoughts and come back to give a score after finishing the novel. After coming this far, I think it's good. There were a lot of things that put me off in the beginning, but after getting over it I am genuinely invested. Here are a few things that might turn off some people.
    1. Writing style is kind of weird. Not sure if it's a translator thing or an author thing
    1. Repetitive phrases such as "crazy bastard" and "driving me nuts/crazy" are repeated way too... more>> often
    1. Somewhat slow start? Gets really exciting later though imo
Can't remember the rest whoops so I'll just put some other observations. Novel is MC-centric so side characters don't get much development. MC is also a tsundere and an unreliable narrator hahaaa. His

past as Kim Rok Soo was an interesting little twist. I was a fool for thinking he was a normal human from Earth. And lastly, Raon is adorable.

This novel isn't perfect, but it's still enjoyable. I don't regret reading this.

Edit: the manhwa art is so good wtf <<less

This serie is awesome, the protagonist is like a tsundere dark hero XD and the misunderstanding of a lot of things is really funny, it isn't the kind of misunderstanding annoying that the only think you want is them to talk about it (they are some exceptions), no, it's funny, sometimes it's lovely.

Also this something that I like, they don't waste an entire chapter describing places or aaaaaall the minuscule things that happen or the clothes of every single one of the characters. It's annoying for me. I mean, of... more>> course they describe places and some others stuff, but they don't use poetry for that, like others novels...

I really recommend this novel. <<less

This novel caught my eye from the beginning and immediately had my heart.

The author manages to develop a plot full of political intrigue, tying together small details and insignificant events into one larger story. It's decently paced and THANKFULLY isn't pulled down by an unnecessary harem.

The beginning of the novel is really great, with Cale still being severely underestimated and the cast feeling polished and tight knit. Additionally, the first few major battles of the war are super gratifying, finally allowing Cale and the expansive cast's powers to shine.

One major... more>> downside, however, is that despite having a diverse cast of characters, all of them are pretty undeveloped. Apart from Roan and Choi Han, none of the characters grow or develop in any way. We know the bare-bones background and basic personality of each person, but that's about it. Heck, it takes a billion chapters to even learn about Cale's past, let alone anyone else.

In conclusion, while I'm not as overly obsessed as I used to be, moments like the ones mentioned will probably keep me following the story until the end. Cale's powerful entourage basically curb-stomp every enemy at this point, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's still a really fun read.

If you enjoy the author's writing style, I'd recommend giving it a shot. (3.75/5) <<less

I recommand looking into which type of novels the commentator are reading and their reviews before trusting any comments you read here.
You'll notice that most of the negative reviews are written by girls who lack the empathy toward a male protagonist.
This is one of the cancer this awesome website is affected with.
Oh ! How I wish gender was mentioned in the profil (though the sneaky one would still lie about it)

I’m simply in love with this novel. While I have not caught up to the latest chapter, I have restarted the novel multiple times because I just like it that much. Each time I restart, I fall in love with all of the characters once again.

This novel is worth the time reading ?.
