Trash of the Count’s Family

When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] was a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han, a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the tr*sh of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, is destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this s*upid tr*sh who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

“…This is going to be a headache.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

The protagonist will just randomly keep going somewhere and doing things because he knows stuff from the future you don't. Which is nice in the beginning but will get tiresome after you realise it's just the same thing repeating again and again and then it gets boring and tiresome.

"tr*sh of the Count's Family" is a legend it's truly amazing and character developments, plot and fighting battles are epic this will remain as a top novel for a long long time I guarantee that.

Cale Henituse the MC wants to became a slacker and live very peaceful and a lazy life he just wants to sleep and eat all day but he couldn't because he has to save the continent save the world because before doing so in order to do that he must assist the protagonist of 'The birth... more>> of a Hero' whom he wanted to avoid at first, anyway he just okay stuck in that loop of endless battles and becoming a hero and being respected by everyone when he only wanted a peaceful life and do whatever it takes to have that lazy life of his it was truly hilarious and it was the most interesting thing to see him working so hard and becoming a hero and saying he's not a good person and he's definitely wasn't a good person because we are really aware 🤗😁. This story is filled with adventure and action. and the main characters isn't overpowered (from the strat) like in those novels his also weak and it's quite very funny seeing him faint from time to time.

his very smart and comptent and an incredible strategist. The main character also does not forget about his past life there's a lot of novels where don't speak about the main characters past life at all, they just say they have transmigrated that's all. he's life as Kim Rok Soo is quite hard. 😭😭😭

i liked the bond between characters it's strong and I love how friendship and family love is portrait. Every character have their own bactstory, personality and emotions which is also shown in interesting way. the interaction between characters was really moving and heartwarming, MC cared about his friend and his camarade and he's subordinates, cale isn't a kind hearted man but he wasn't a bad person, a bad person couldn't become a hero and I like how he will try his best to not sacrifice anyone, not his ownself and how he hated Heroes sacrifices the MC is very charismatic a natural born leader, the children in the novel are just too adorable. this novel is worth reading.

Cale Henituse · Raon Miru · Choi Han · Ron Molan · Alberu Crossman. On and Hong. Rosalyn. Eruhaben. Mary.... I just love them all💕💕 <<less

I am loving the story, but, like some other reviewers, I am getting frustrated by MC’s denseness. Sigh. This novel is +700 chapters. If I know that he’s gonna get with reality by c250 or so, I can slog through, but not if he remains like this throughout the whole thing!

NU needs to implement a way to respond to reviewers because I need to know just when Cale acknowledges reality. Cause at this point, the 5 year old dragon, who was locked away for 4 years, has seen the reality... more>> of the situation.

I really would love to continue as I like Cale, Alberu, On and Haben. The other characters are more or less the same really. Le sigh. <<less

Haven't finished, but plot and characters are amazing! The story is a bit long and gets repetitive at times, however still a good read. This story has no romance, so if that's what you are mainly looking for, this novel might not be for you. Otherwise, I highly suggest reading this novel!

This is actually one of the best novel I've ever read. Like, who cares if there is no any love interest? The MC is badass and savage af. I love it when there is no Love interest for MC because I think it would mess up the MC personality. This novel is good without love interest. This is what I need from a novel, where the MC doesn't give a sh*t about getting love interest and focusing to aim his slacker life.

This is an absolute gem and is my absolute favorite book I have ever read. Yes, the writing is simple but I find that charming because the emotions are straight to the point. I was honestly surprised by some of the bad reviews. It focuses more on family and friends which I find 100 times better than any romance book. This book is something you need to let yourself delve in and give it a chance and it will literally touch your soul. The writing is simple but the characters... more>> are entertaining, memorable, and has good character development. The plot is also absolutely insane as it starts off as a simple isekai novel but the plot twists and new developments literally blow my mind. You may give up halfway thinking of, "oh the character is annoying or why is it repetitive or there is no point to this event" but WAIT. The author knows all and literally everything will be explained eventually. Like EVERYTHING. The author doesn't forget when she mentions a line you might think is irrelevant. I just can't--I love this novel so much it made me cry and have epiphanies (As well appreciate new aspects of my life)

If you are looking for a quick read or quick entertainment, this may not be it. It's not some harem or OP protagonist obliterating everything. But it can genuinely make you happy in a light way. If you don't want to read it or drop it fine, but I wish there were less negative reviews from people who haven't read it all the way to the most recent chapter like I have.

Sincerely,

This novel is one of my favorite novels and the MC ranks top 5. There are alot of chapters but they fly by so quickly and I dont get bored. I've reread this story multiple times already but I still manage to get immersed in the story and the characters. Cale, the MC is such a great character, he does everything for a single goal and that goal hasn't changed, he could easily achieve his goal from the very second he gets thrown into the story but is way too... more>> much of a good person to do so. The characters are not one dimensional and all have individual personalities separate from when they're with the MC, I especially like mr prince Alberu and beacrox. It may seem like it's boring because cale seems to be too op and knows everything but it all just blows up in your face the more you keep reading, it's like the more you know the less you know. I definitely recommend this if you like strong and smart MC with no romance and realistic characters. <<less

I wanted to like this. I really did. I even restarted reading the novel but ended up losing steam at the same spot, around chapter 150. What starts off as a somewhat engaging story, with a poor impetus for the character's motivations, turns into a generic wish fulfillment story. I mean the guy starts off wanting to be left alone because he just doesn't want to get beat up, not killed, by the original story's protagonist. That's not amazing or whatever but I enjoyed my time with it. The reason... more>> I think is because other characters had their own thoughts about things like politics and the state of the world but once his party grows they become generic cheerleaders that you would read anywhere else.

"Oh, young master is so amazing and kind."

I'm sick of that. Every character is the same and the protagonist's motivations are murky as he wants to live in peace and be lazy but essentially does everything in his power to get involved with everything. I get that it's supposed to be funny or whatever but reading the protagonist call himself lazy while he does everything for the 100th time gets old. In my eyes, this is definitely overrated but whatever. This is NU. Everything here is overrated. <<less

Honestly this novel is amazing but there are parts that I dislike, first I would like to discuss what things I liked:

Spoiler

i liked that the reason why the MC was not freaking out on battles n' stuff bcz his original earth was kinda one of those manhwas that monstars invaded their planet blahblahblah

[collapse]

Characterss

Spoiler

i liked how some of the characters got some great character development

[collapse]

im too lazy to write my whole thoughts here so I will carry on with the problems:

PLOTHOLES

Spoiler

i forgot when was it but the MC said to his siblings that he will bring back souvenirs for them since he was going on a battle or something, a couple of battles later he still didnt back any, even if its trivial the author should pay attention to these things

[collapse]

How the result of their battles come to be

Spoiler

i really hate it on how the MC wins every time, that seems impossible no matter how strong your companions are, this was my first novel so yes, my second novel was plot heavy and the MC also loses time to time unlike this, it feels like tho whole novel is wishful fullfilment

[collapse]

fanbase

the fanbase is pretty nice but I really hate how ppl makes other ppl think this is bl, you are just making a majority of them not read, and its not helping the author

Execution and storytelling

Spoiler

the author sucks at executing and storytelling if she/he put it in other words it wouldve been much interesting, the storytelling is by far boring, also the MC does not get character development at all which is very annoying

Comedic acts/scenes

Spoiler

it is funny sometimes, but it is honestly cringe.

i'd give this 7/10 <<less

As my name suggested, I registered for Cale. This is my first time leaving a review but I have to. It made my heart itch just thinking about this. This is the second novel that made me want to include in my "want to read again after ten years" time capsule and I just discovered this one because I was attracted to the manhua in Facebook. After that I ended up here, and that's amazing considering that I am an avid reader of all sorts of things. Anyway back to... more>> what I came for.

As I said earlier, I love, love, LOVE this novel. No matter how much anyone said about it being a typical Isekai novel, it isn't. It's amazing how all seemingly little details gets together at later to form a whole new wonder.

At the start I was thinking of just skimming through it, like the others thinking it was another book to pass through time but as I read deeper, and totally immersed myself to the world woven in by the author I found myself excited to read what's next. The characters are very well made and not, mmmm sorry I don't know how to describe it, what's the word? Traditional? I don't know what that mean, but what I'm trying to say is that every character has a story, has life, and not one sided (?). They are not written to represent one side like how the MC is a typical dense character, there's a loyal and innocent sidekick, an arrogant dragon aka tsundere mascot, a pretty, 'big sis' lady, and bunch of typical characteristics typical characters in books have. They are much more than that and as you go on through the story you'll found out why.

I don't know about others opinions about how lame and boring it is with how the MC knowing what happens to the plot and spoils everything out to everyone, but isn't it normal to take advantage of his "golden finger" in that situation? Besides by the time the hundred chapter passed you'll see that that golden finger is no longer useful and what the MC used to bulldozer his way to his proceed to his problems is pretty much his wits and other factors. By the time 200 passed I can't help myself to stop reading. I reread this for ten times and is planning to do more until the next updates planning to see if I missed something, a small detail perhaps that may subtly suggest the future, as the author tend to do that and I love it.

I give 5 stars for the characters, heck they deserve that as even small side characters get development and are involved in it way deeper than originally believed.

I give 5 stars for plot, the author leaves no plot hole, if there is it'll probably be part of the future plots.

I give 5 stars for the translation, though there's minor slip ups they get corrected quickly.

Truly a recommended read for someone who loves adventures with seemingly no rest, as the MC himself doesn't seem to rest. <<less

To the people who wondering to read this novel or not, I advise you to read with minimum expectation and don't stop earlier. Because this novel's plot keep building up even at the 600th chapter. So, enjoy a long voyage.

Well, after I finished read the latest chapter, I realize that I haven't make any review about this novel. So, here I am.

At first I thought that this novel will be like another shounen/action story with harem story, winning easily with OP strength, and lots of plot holes (which I dislike).... more>> I also didn't really like the cool character of MC, for unknown reason. The earlier chapters really give us an ordinary shounen story and a little repeating so it's understandable that some people have low rating for this novel.

But as I keep reading it, it is keep going into the plot that I never expected. Slowly, each characters showed their own personality (not 2d character anymore) and able to touch me emotionally. The ancient powers, that I thought just some tools to make MC OP, turn out to have an important existence in that world (a long time ago). And the moment that make me feel "this novel is freaking good" is when MC discovering the truth behind those ancient powers.

Spoiler

At first, the ancient powers are just described as some powers that have legend story about who have them before. The shield power only explained as a power that was owned by someone gluttony in the past, the wind (?) power as a power that owned by a thief in the past, etc. But when MC went to an island to take the wind power, it showed all the story behind those ancient power's previous owners, and they was the hero/people who fought against evil organization that nearly destroyed the world long time ago. Those evil people made black mana continuously that make people suffer, dead, and starving because they also blocked the sun to make the fields couldn't produce any food.

The gluttony one turn out to be someone who had shield power and fought against those evil people in her territory and the reason of her gluttony legend was because she always starving since the land couldn't produce food anymore (f**k, I felt bad because I look down at her before). The thief one became a thief for her people because they suffered from famine. One by one of those ancient power's owner dead by the evil people, and only the rock power one able to stand until the end and killed those evil people.

[collapse]

I got too emotional when reading that part. It stabbed me straight in my heart when I thought back to the earlier story.

That's was the first moment that make me like this novel. The second one is no plot hole. I don't know if other reader found a plot hole, but I couldn't find it. Even the lazy character of the MC is explained in later story
Spoiler

In his original world, he is not an ordinary working man who spend his time as a normal man. His own world was intruded by monsters and people starting got power to fight them. He himself have that same personality (asosial but still somewhat care for his friends) and got very tired fighting and protecting people. That explain why he want to do nothing in the other world. And I think the reason why he didn't care about his own world when he got transmigrated is because his friends have died so he have no one there (maybe)

[collapse]

Last thing, I know you maybe feel uncomfortable or confuse when reading this review of mine due to the grammar. Really sorry about that. I'm weak in grammar, but I want to share my opinion (and my excitement) about this novel.

Oh, and don't expect some romance story. This novel doesn't have romance tag. <<less

Recommend: LEGEND OF SUN KNIGHT w similar tr*shy MC n lots of fainting n blood

My sad*st side is so satisfied w MC coughing blood (such as in chapter 45, 55, 112, 162, 177, 199, 257, 315, 422)

The story starts off w MC Transmigrating into a novel he read n knowing bout the danger of the new world he's in, make use of everything n everyone to ensure world peace... Just so he can slack off in peace

MC is tsundere w slight ptsd n act like he doesn't care but... more>> everyone knows he does

Dream to become slacker but keep getting involve, thus adopting approx 3 kids (a dragon n 2 cats) a family of wolf n assassin, a Prince, a wizard, a few dragons, a hero who would put their life for their family

MC is not particularly strong at all but good at analytical skill n scamming people. Which makes the premise of this novel interesting especially since his found family knew of this traits n even help him w his scheme.

Found family is so sweet n how they take care n trust each other w the kids adopting the cunningness from mc

In short. A rat MC that u wanna punch but also protect w Story mostly progress but how much blood he losses n how much anxiety his family shows before deciding to just lock him up to make him rest. (applicable to both LEGEND OF SUN KNIGHT n ORV) <<less

Among the novels I've read, this is the best one! Can't I rate this 100 please?

The plot is holy, the twists are everywhere, and damn it's thrilling and cute! Our MC is so pitiful but so loveable that I can't stop supporting him and the other main characters. He's also cool and quick-witted despite his ridiculous dream that is waving goodbye at him. Nevertheless, we believe you (ꈍᴗꈍ) ノ✿.

I don't know why there are 119 people who rated this a 1 star--you must have not appreciated this masterpiece. Ok,... more>> hands up, I respect your opinion, BUT WHY?!! ヾ ( ((;ꈡ▱ꈡ;))) ノ

If you are interested in a male lead that is lazy, then read this.

This novel has made me feel different emotions. From being happy to sad, then excited to angry. It's awesome.

Cale is the lazy type of person. He wanted the least action in the story but ya know he ended up being the hero. It was amazing to see the people go from hating and fearing him because of the OG Cale's horrible drunkard personality to everyone admiring him, calling him a hero (though he didn't want such honor... more>> cuz ya know it comes with great responsibility).

The only thing that's kinda a turn-off is the fighting scenes of Cale. He has a weak plate and blood flows like a waterfall from his mouth if he overuses it, but you know you shouldn't expect much since he didn't want to fight in the first place.

Oh yeah, this novel has great friendships. They are literally so trusting and loyal. It's very nice!

All in all, I think this novel is great! Thank you very much to the author for making this novel and the translators!

Sorry if my English isn't that great, it's not my first language. <<less

I am truly loving this story. However, despite my very positive experience, I'll also highlight some of the negative aspects in the second part of the review, because there are some aspects of this story that can be infuriating for many people.

I find it very interesting, despite the very common trope. Cale (the MC) is very smart, and he remains true to himself throughout the story and despite the MC's minor character development, there is still many touching moments that delve into his relationship with the other characters. That said,... more>> this isn't a deep psychological story. Despite the dark and terrible past of some of the most relevant secondary characters, the story is still lighthearted through some funny scenes (both recurrent and new ones). I also love all the secondary cast, with their funny quirks and all their different personalities. There are even some that have an unexpected role in the story or traits that are unexpected. In comparison, secondary characters have more character development than the MC. I would also like to add that there is no romance, in any shape or form in this story, and if anything the relationship between the characters often end uo being familial love & friendship.

I also really love how nothing it's ever forgotten in the plot. Some things will be mentioned at one point, and re-explored much later on (even after more than 100s of chapter). Even situations (or character), that were seemingly already resolved or explained, can have an ulterior role in the story. There never seem to be an actual plot point forgotten. And every little arc in the story is flawlessly connected.

I also appreciate how the transmigration of the MC is handled in the story is very interesting. It doesn't happen just because the plot required. It's hinted throughout the early part of th story that there was some more going on, however the author start exploring it more, much later on in the story.

Well, I obviously love this story, but as I said it's not for everyone.

So, what are the more negative aspects?

Well, for one, the character ends up being loved/respected/admired by all the secondary characters that are his allies.

The main characters is also OP. Not much for his powers (altough he definetely has some that are quite dangerous), but for his plans. His plans always end up successfull, and there is very little doubt during the story that he would end up winning in those situation. Even if he doesn't win, he never really lose because he is still able to give trouble to his opponents. Overall, you never really doubt that MC will win in some way or other, there is never a sense of suspense for that. So, what gives suspense to the story isn't IF the MC will win (because he will and none of the secondary character will die), but HOW he will do it. And, as I've mentioned, there isn't much character development, so he won't change much throughout the story. His mindset is actually set pretty much in stone. So yeah, if conflict and lots of character development is what you want as a reader, then you won't find it here. Another problem is that, as I've lready mentioned, some plot points are explored only much later on from the moment they are mentioned. This means that you know that MC should deal with a problem/situation yet you may still wait some arcs for that plot point to be resolved. While I enjoyed how nothing was ever forgotten, it can also be frustrating to wait so much to reach that point.

And lastly (but strongly connected to the aforementioned point), despite the fact that I love how the plot gets always more complex without ever losing sense, from the other side of the coin, it can also be perceived as (very) dragged on. From a certain perspective, the plot can be seen as unneccessarily leghtened, when it could be resolved earlier on and the story coud have been finished without all this additional situations and complications.

So yea, I love this story but can see why not everyone can enjoy it. <<less

I laughed so bad at the amount of people that got a wrong idea about Cale's intention. THE MISUNDERSTANDINGS ARE SO f*ckING AMAZING.

It's such a great novel, I love the writing style and the characters of this story. Cale always wants to be a slacker but he keeps on getting problems on his way every time LOL. Cale cares for his people a lot, and his people also cares for him a lot too.

The plot just keeps going and it really keeps you hooked. I can't wait for new arcs as well. I dont even mind if this novel ended up to have 1000+ chapters.

The side characters also have their own development... more>> in the story. And I love them all equally.

Spoiler

Toonka, he was such a dumbass when first introduced but now he thinks before acting. Well he's still the same in some parts I guess. But he's one of my favorite character now. Especially in the early chapter of the mogoru x whipper war arc, he genuinely thinks that the person he thought was weak, Cale, is his close friend. Cale who was the first to come to help him in the war... Aw this blockhead is such a pure and poor guy, Cale was scamming you before too.

Clopeh as well, he was an enemy when they first met and he had his four limbs cut off by them. But now he's a devotee to Cale... Kinda sad but he's a crazy guy so it's fine.

The characters aren't just purely justice driven good people or something cliche like that, like Rosalyn and Mary who is greedy to get more stronger, Choi Han also isn't that pure too.

[collapse]

Overall this is a great read and I highly reccomend it!!

Spoiler

btw you should read this to enjoy White Star's (the antagonist of the story) clownery too LOL. He gets into so much misunderstanding about Cale.

I usually get bored with webnovels very quickly but the fact that im still hooked honestly means something

It’s pretty cliche and sometimes the way that the MC always wins feels a little overdone, but it’s still satisfying for me to read. If you’re expecting an amazingly complex plot with character struggles etc.... this one probably isn’t for you. It’s a pretty “good guys always win” kind of novel. The storyline itself isn't hard to follow, but it does have a tendancy to just explain things to you outright (for better... more>> or for worse). However, it’s pretty easy to get attached to certain characters and the found family is so so good. If this book was about MC and his friends living in a rural town farming somewhere I’d still read it.

I would read anything as long as there’s found family.

It’s a sweet novel. There’s some really nice moments and in there and the misunderstandings are golden. If 600+ chapters seems a little daunting, the manhwa has really nice art as well <<less
