Everyone knows that the popular entertainer Song Linchuan is crazy about his little aunt. Since the beginning of his career, he has mentioned her on various occasions.

During an interview with a reporter, he was asked, “What kind of girl do you find most adorable?”

He replied, “Someone like my little aunt.”

The reporter was puzzled.

During a fan visit, someone asked him, “What are your plans after filming this drama?”

He replied, “I’m going back to see my little aunt.”

The fans were confused.

As people across the internet were curious about Song Linchuan’s mysterious little aunt, he brought her on a lifestyle variety show. When she appeared on camera, everyone was shocked to see that she was just a pretty girl in her late teens.

On the show, the young girl had an old-fashioned way of speaking and manners, despite her young age.

When Song Linchuan was too busy to eat on time, she said sternly, “Your body is your most valuable asset. Don’t neglect to eat on time, or you’ll get stomach problems!”

When he stayed up late playing games, she scolded him, “Young people should enjoy their games in moderation. Staying up late is not good for your health!”

The netizens teased Song Linchuan, but they also agreed with his little aunt’s advice.

At a fashion magazine photo shoot, Song Linchuan’s shirt collar was a bit low. The young girl approached him and said seriously, “As a boy, how can you dress so revealingly?”

The netizens laughed and said, “Haha, his little aunt is correcting him on how to be a man!”

Meanwhile, another popular entertainer, Pei Kuang, visited Song Linchuan’s house while he was filming a lifestyle show. As soon as he entered, Song Linchuan pulled him over to meet his little aunt.

Song Linchuan said, “Pei Kuang, this is my dear little aunt. Don’t just stand there, she’s your little aunt too. Call her!”

Pei Kuang was speechless.

A few years later, paparazzi caught Pei Kuang walking with a girl who looked like Song Linchuan’s little aunt, Song Anan. They looked intimately close, and everyone online called out to Song Linchuan, “Look, your good friend is about to become your little uncle!”

At that time, Song Linchuan was in the middle of filming in the deep mountains and had no idea what was happening.

Nice feel-good read. MC, ML and nephew were also my type of characters; mindful yet straightforward. I liked everything from plot to settings and other characters. Their family life was also very cute and wholesome, ML is such a great daddy.

Although, there were some points that were a little too overdone like in the entertainment/fan aspect. I skipped tons of those.

Then, theres also the confusing name changes. But it’s not much of a big deal as it’s only minor characters.

AND! I wish I hadn’t read Nephew’s love story though. Just... more>> a matter of preference but Zhou Wei just wasn’t my type of heroine. Very indecisive and cowardly. Girly had no improvement even after all those years they dated. Nephew had to initiate in everything while she shut her mouth, smh. Gotta love characters like Song Anan. <<less

I'll round it up to a 4. It has some rough edges here and there. But overall it's an enjoyable read if the summary interests you.

Spoiler

It pretty much outlines everything until around ch.100. So don't expect too many surprises.

[collapse]

Some minor gripes -

Spoiler

The author casually tosses in the MC's tragic family backstory... and it just feels forced. She gets into a car wreck with her parents. They die, but for some reason she doesn't even have a lingering trauma with cars? She's described as easy to fall asleep in a vehicle. No problem driving a scooter, and is gifted a car by her nephew. Not that she ever drives the thing... For some reason preferring to trust strangers driving her around (cabs, etc). I'd have been fine if they at least tried to establish it took a while for her to cope with things.. but it's not even acknowledged.

The 'antagonists' are pretty pathetic and we don't get to see a full picture of what happens to them in the end.

MC is a mixed bag. We're told repeatedly that she's mature for her age and act's like a senior, but then often comes off as just silly and innocent... to a questionable level. I don't hate her. I just think she's written fairly inconsistently.

[collapse]

What I liked -

Spoiler

One of the few romance stories that does a decent job with misunderstandings. Still not a fan of them, but this one was believable. Also a good job showing the MC coming of age in terms of romance. Instead of being dense until just suddenly getting it.. she ends up consulting with other people and realizing her feelings organically.

Kinda slow, kinda fun, super sweet, mostly underwhelming. There's no real major conflict. FL is pretty Mary Sue, but her character devolves from mildly fun to boring once the major "conflict" is resolved.

Spoiler

Thought the drug lord subplot would play out interestingly, but that happened offscreen. Aggravating. The antagonists (if any of them are even qualified to be called that) are all sort of one and done resolved except OGFL. She gets to show up in multiple underwhelming scenes. Joy.

If you can get over the countdown to adulthood part, that's probably the most major hurdle for some people. There's no major powerplay concerns considering FL's mental age is probably either the same, or just a few years younger (unsure/can't remember if she transmigrated into her body as a child, or right when this starts), but she's not too worldly considering her two lives' upbringings, and ML's net worth is nowhere near FL's family's.

Major caveats would be physical age difference and mental maturity, other than that, nothing else of concern.

FL and ML keeping their relationship secret was fun at first, until it was annoying. It got dragged out and overstayed its welcome. The story then just turned into a slice of life between a silly couple and no family conflicts/obstacles.

[collapse]

Same translation issues as their other stuff, but nothing super major.

I stopped reading at chapter 111 because what other developments can happen other than more Weibo trending and comments and the wedding?

All in all, if you're really, really, really bored, go for it. You've got nothing to lose <<less

5 stars from me! Really, for both the story line and the plot execution! Kudos to the translation group for picking up this gem.

I am especially in love with the romance. It is more realistic and you can feel their hesitation and their decisiveness both, as they navigate on their journey starting from 'nephew's friend' to 'boyfriend'

First and first foremost, someone needs to add the 'comedic undertone' tag to this novel. This is a harem novel with one aunt and many nephews fighting to be her favorite (lol). The MC... more>> is really chill, not bothered by anyone trying to stir up drama because she simply doesn't care. She is a top student and even, if she is a little on the naive side, she is equally pragmatic and can see the essence of most things.

The ML is really caring and understanding. I like how decisive they both are when it comes to relationships. The slow romance tag is because of a misunderstanding in between,
Spoiler

not between the two of them, per se, but because of the wrong timing and circumstances. Anyways, the ML treated her as a sister back then so it can't be said to be his fault. When he starts developing feelings, he decisively pursues the MC.

[collapse]
. So basically, there is no drama in their personal interactions, but mainly, because of a few unscrupulous people trying to steer up the waters. Though they are KO d by the ML and it doesn't take more than a few chapters.

The main highlight is definitely the nephew who is 7 years older than his aunt (MC), so he basically treats her as his younger sister even if he calls her 'little auntie'. He is a serious siscon and the biggest barrier standing in the relationship between the MC and ML
Spoiler

the events after the relationship gets exposed is really funny. The poor guy blows up like a volcano

[collapse]

Anyways. The whole novel is light and breezy. There is not much drama in here, even the dramatic part gets diluted because the MC and ML and our dear nephew are quite down to earth. So, despite the low ratings given for some unknown reason, you should go for it. <<less

If you ever read "Secretly, Secretly, but Unable to Hide It" then you would find many similarities in both novel, such as:

  • MC and ML had a 7 years age gap
  • MC had a protective brother figure who was also ML's good friend
    Spoiler

The difference was in Secretly, the brother figure was the biological brother of MC while in this novel, it was her nephew. But since her nephew was 7 years older than her, he considered MC as his little sister although he always called her little aunt.

    [collapse]
  • MC and ML got to know each other through the brother figure
  • MC fell first but because of misunderstanding, she ceased her intention to confess after she became an adult. Years later, ML was the one who pursued her first
  • MC had a loving family while ML was the opposite
Of course there were also many differences between this novel and Secretly such as MC and ML's occupation and the transmigration background. Unfortunately, the transmigration theme wasn't fleshed out well and felt so half-heartedly written.

Spoiler

MC suddenly had epiphany that the world she's currently resided was a novel world and her nephew would find a calamity. She desperately wanted to save her nephew's life and later, it became her motivation to accompany her nephew to reality show. The author also vaguely mentioned about the orgFL and orgML but somehow, things were different since the beginning.

The biggest difference was the orgFL herself. I mean, why she was so different from the original story? She was obsessed with ML since day 1 and the spark that was supposed to happen between her and orgML was basically non-existent. She was also far from her image as a pure white lily that was a breath of fresh air in the entertainment industry because she took advantage of ML's popularity to hype herself.

In the end, we didn't even get an explanation about what really happened in the original story and the transmigration theme itself was suddenly got brushed up after MC managed to save her nephew's life.

[collapse]

Also, the translation could be better. There were so many misplaced names, punctuation's inconsistency, etc. But still, thank you for translating this story.

I love it~

Spoiler

Honestly, it isn't my usual cup of tea: FL falling in love first, ML seems a bit too gentle (at first, that was how it seem) , slow romance, melodrama~

But the pace is actually understandable as FL was underage in the beginning of the story. ML fell for her after they became closer (a few years after FL reached adulthood) .

And ML's last regret was my regret too, and it soothed my injured heart that he acknowledged this regret.

[collapse]

Also, I love reading about the aunt-nephew interaction. FL seemed omnipotent but she lived quitely like a hermit, only studying, learning and improving herself. Her shining points seemed to be only seen during her participation in reality shows.

FL's interaction with ML was actually very cute and sweet. So I like it when romance blooms. I also like how honest they are to themselves and to each other. It's how their love grows stronger as time goes by.

Spoiler

However, what I love the most are the extras: the leads' son, Mu Mu; the 'what if' story; and the romance of the nephew... these stories are so sweet on their own~

[collapse]

Finally, even though the translation seems a bit wonky at times (I had to manually substitute some names/details in my mind), it is still understandable.

A very enjoyable reading that is recommended 💌🌈 <<less

1. Comedy:

It's not very funny, but the premise of the story is amusing and very fitting for a comedy genre.

2. Fantasy:

... more>> I don't know if it's enough to list this as fantasy if the only fantasy element here is MC's reincarnation, which by the way, does not even play a major role in the story. There's no world-building for a fantasy world, no supernatural elements, and no character growth relating to a fantasy setting.

3. Romance:

There's good chemistry between MC and ML. The conflict relating to romance is believable and appropriate. Love influences some character growth and the MC's naive and innocent character made the pre-relationship fun and entertaining. Meanwhile, ML is basically a perfect boyfriend with some insecurities that he overcomes with time.

4. School Life:

The school environment does not play a major role in the story. The only significant thing we get from this genre is the MC's roommates. The roommates help the MC grow emotionally and help her clarify her romantic dilemmas.

5. Slice of Life:

The narration of the story doesn't feel like Slice of Life to me, but it does depict the day-to-day events of the characters.

The antagonists in the story just disappear. I feel like the author could have expanded a bit more on these antagonists. Everything is too smooth for the protagonists. The supporting characters had the potential to be great, but the plot relating to them is disappointing, especially MC's nephew. He was introduced from the beginning of the novel but his participation in the overall plot is underwhelming.

Regarding the translation, I think it's translated well but the translator often mixes up the names which will get confusing if you're not adept to using context clues. They have mixed up MC's nephew's name with MC's suitor and have mixed up MC's name with MC's sister-in-law. It's fine if it's in only one paragraph or so, but iirc for like half of the chapter the translator used the names incorrectly. <<less

Incredible change of pace.

Tired of those toxic, obsessed, possessive, everything's-forgiven-'cause-he-hot-and-rich MLs?

Tired of those spineless, s*upidly naive, pushover, dumb FLs?

... more>> Tired of bland side characters that are dumbified for the sake of making the MC smarter?

Well, search no more!

This story has a top tier quality ML. He is respectful, doting, loyal, a tease but not a manipulative a**hole, straightforward, and a high EQ character that is like a precious gem.

The FL is, indeed, innocent and pure, but she is headstrong, true to herself throughout the novel, opinionated, firm and a bit of a clutz.

The second male lead is not a love interest but the nephew of the MC. He is funny, adorable, prideful, protective, dense, and an auntie-con. Absolutely loved him and his love story. His interactions with the FL and ML are hilarious.

There is a tiny bit of drama, misunderstandings, time skips, and fluff, so much wholesome fluffy love.

The translations are not great, but not awful enough to deter me from reading this. However I do believe one should have experience with worse translations to make the corrections in one's head to fully enjoy the read. Other than that, the story itself, great stuff.

8/10 would recommend <<less

I really, really like it, would even say I love it.

I laughed so loudly I was glad it wasn't in the middle of the night at times or I'd have disturbed the neighbors.

many toxic behaviors typical to chinese romance are not only avoided but instead exchanged with emotionally healthy behavior - a true treat!!

I like both MC and ML a lot, the nephew is a riot, husky (?) and the kids showing up in the story are great as well. Each have their own characterization, no one suddenly changes... more>> personality for plot purposes, side characters don't get forgotten and do have their own personality.

best parts of the novel are avoiding bad writing and toxicideas while having mature, smart and well thought out reasoning.

Spoiler

especially in the later part of the story when the child rearing is happening and mumu has his stories in kindergarten. Sure the way the teachers say his dad is better at teaching than them can be seen as over the top but I still really like the logic he uses, like with the sharing candies thing when the bully started a tantrum

[collapse]

so please give this a chance if any if this sounds good to you.

I'm aware this is not a good review and I'm rambling and my thoughts jump around but there are so few reviews and my unfiltered thoughts might help some of you so here it is.

oh, right, forgot to say something:

low drama, which I'm honestly sick of so great for me. And like another reviewer said, they don't let dog blood happen because they are chill and smart which is another plus for me. there is tragedy in both of their pasts but they overcame it and grew from it, especially MC who helps ML along later on when his past comes to cause trouble for him.

It's really not bad, but perhaps such a slow romance isn't that much to my liking. I mean, I don't hate it, I even like it a bit, but not very much. However, perhaps some will like such a slow burn romance. Also, their romance is a mature and steady one instead of a passionate one. I also don't think that this is lighthearted because there's really a lot of realistic but saddening things here. At the same time, it's really too much of a slice of life genre. The... more>> first love of youth, first heartbreak, anxiety of an unrequited love, and so on. It's not just about romance, it's also about self-healing. But most of all, Song Linchuan is really my favorite because I think the story will be a lot more boring without him fooling around.

Also, although the story's settings should be "transmigrated into the book with OF FL and ML", it's really not focused on that. The OG FL and ML appeared, sure, but aside from the annoying OG FL, nothing from the OG plot happened. In short, they are insignificant.

Overall, it's a good story with realistic emotions and plot. 8/10. <<less

I usually choosy on Showbiz Entertainment- trope, but I enjoyed this one. It so fun and no big dog-blood drama. There were few issues (on ML's side) but given solution fast.

Song Anan (FL) was straightforward and smart with good combination of innocence and maturity. She acted as elder (auntie) in times but got certain naivety suitable for her age. Meanwhile, ML (Pei Kuang) was a green flag in greenest forest. He suffered and alone, glad that he got happy ending with FL. He one of the best MLs in C-novel... more>> and good husband/father too. Author wrote him well...

Spoiler

The fact that he cared too much for his wife's well-being during and after her pregnancy. He was thorough and involved about her postpartum care including her postpartum depression (afraid that PPD will affect her mentality like what happened to his mother who hated him). Also, he's good educator to Mu Mu (their son).

As a son, he didn't blame her mother for hating him. He was resolute on cutting off when needed... but he pointed out that it's probably PPD that ignored and later on reason of being mentally unstable

Also there were many good supporting characters especially Song Linchuan (nephew of FL and friend of ML).

The main story ended on chp124

It was cute.

The novel is an entertainment/showbiz focused story. The main portion is livestream format with commentary. The netizen commentary throughout the entire novel is what makes things extra funny.

Once the MC and ML get together, it’s just cute. The antagonists are handled fairly quickly. And the transmigration/rebirth is important for the first part of the story since it’s the reason MC ends up on the show with her nephew.

Although not clearly delineated, there are two extra type stories at the end. Perhaps three if you consider MC and ML’s... more>> life with their son as an extra. It could also be seen as a epilogue. We also get a few chapters of what-if ML had gone down medical route instead of acting. And then a final section on MC’s nephew’s love life. <<less

I skipped so much of this story because it was boring. This would have been a good story at half its length. I'm generally okay with Mary Sue-ish MCs, but this one was so bland, there was just very little to enjoy reading about her. The ML was okay, but also a bit bland.

A nice read if you're looking for something really simple. It's really just a feel-good story there aren't any big bad enemies that they need to defeat. It's a nice slow burn that transitions into a mature romance between the two leads. I honestly forgot that this was supposed to be a story about a girl reincarnated into this book world. It did seem like it went a couple chapters longer than it needed to. The main story ends in chapter 124 the rest is just filler, you can just... more>> skip over it if you want. Avoidant crying klutz-when-not-working MC. That's the summary. The rest is good enough, just wearing after a few rounds of plot redundancies. While I like care fantasies, this one is objectively worth less because all that pampering and petting has turned the MC into a bit of a blank state, without a rich existence of her own or much character growth. The female starring in the side pairing is even worse, which you will find if you last all the way to the final chapters. In addition, the transmigration premise has... more>> no meaning at all. 3 stars. <<less

Loved this book very much. Nowdays, it's very difficult for me to find a book worth reading for. Despite the low reviews and slow romance, this book is very good. The author writes beautifully and described the characters very well. They have an amazing personality and growth. Caution you will shed a few tears while reading this book. Would definitely re-read and recommend to others. Thanks to the author for creating this masterpiece and the translator for translating this book ❤️

so far it's funny and adorable. MC and his nephew are great together. She has more seniority than him, but that doesn't stop them from getting along as colleagues. He spoils her and also respects her as a person. And they care about each other. Very good so far.
