Su Xi stayed up all night to read a novel and the next day she was taken by a group of men in black to a dark villa.

In the novel, Su Jingcheng was a villain who was cold, twisted and committed all kind of atrocities. In the end, he would be completely pulverized by the male lead along with the second and third lead.

So I finished the novel. There were some good parts, but it was quite normal overall, without being really splendid or fresh.

Its nice to see a sibling love novel without any in*est? In a lot of other sibling love novels I read, there's a lot of in*est moments, or at the very least, moments that would make the siblings look like lovers. There isn't much of that in this novel.

There are a lot of plotholes and stuff left unexplained, especially in the beginning, but it does get explained in like... more>> the 54 chapter. It goes something like this (major spoilers?) :

Taken from the Author's Notes in chapter 54 (I think) :

In "the life before", the MC was taken away by her Master, and grew up in bullying until 13 years old, when she was picked up. The original novel's ML & MC (including their son) directly and indirectly became the killers of the MC, and the MC's death caused her brother's Blackening.

The MC's Master is actually a expert/master, changed fate and everything, picked her up from the orphanage when she was eight, the Master taught the MC culture, making her practice yangsheng quan was also to let her be more healthy. The Master let the MC know everything by the form of a novel, so that she would be more careful in this life. The Master received the consequences of changing fate, so he died in the fifth year.

I'm bad at translating but I tried my best. So it does get explained, but it's not really clear to see just from the plot alone.

Another hit from this author.

MC is physically strong (can beat up multiple strong men at the same time), book smart (taught by her Master) and pretty good overall.

ML is the brother (no in*est, I repeat no in*est!). It's how their relation progresses as MC turns from an indifferent sister to a 'will step in front of a bullet to protect brother' kind of a sister.

Unfortunately, the ending is super abrupt and leaves behind a lot of open threads. What happened to the 'actual' villains? Does MC get together with the... more>> love interest? What happens in the future? All these questions remain.

Fortunately, the first 56 chaps are good enough that I docked only 1 star for the abrupt ending. <<less

Can't judge more due to the current amount of translated chapters, and I don't like using MTL so I will wait for the translator to translate more. Will edit if I changed my mind about the story, or when there are additional reviews I need to talk about.

But it's quite interesting story, maybe because I'm hyped by overpowered brothers/sons stories nowadays lol. Haven't see the infamous villainous brother yet, but from the orientation and details at chapter 1 alone is intriguing.

I mtl:ed the story because it was so short, so because of that I can't comment on the translation or the way the author writes. Though I did like the story, I didn't find it amazing. It's a cute story about these two siblings who have been separated for so long and who are now finally reunited, so the story focuses on their relationship and how the sister tries to protect her brother from the original plot. I liked that it was focused on this family relationship and that there... more>> was no romance or any drama, though the plot wasn't anything special really, and there were some plot holes. But, the story was good enough that I would recommend it, just not good enough to reread it. <<less

Su Jingcheng is the best brother I have ever read. The story is short which works because there really isn't a lot of fillers.

If you're wondering if she transmigrated, NO, she didn't. It's more of a brother's redemption.

So, she actually rebirth because of her brother's wish, but she wasn't aware of it. She dreamt of the story, or read it because they happened in the past life. Her master is a real master who helped her be reborn and helped her brother take care of her before she was found in the second life. So their previous life was different from the past life because she was taken care of and rescued by her master because she was severely bullied in the orphanage.

She was wary of her brother at first because of what she saw in the novel where he is the big villain, but she warmed up to him because she saw that he's not like in the novel. This author uses tropes like this where the villains looked really evil in the story but the backstory is that the villains were wronged first and the protagonists are actually the bad ones.

I recommend this for family warmth and a great short story, there is no romance although the end hinted future romance between Su Xi and a schoolmate with a cliffhanger.

A nice fluffy story. I feel like the plot has the potential to be expanded more, but the author just decided to cut it short. Overall, it's a good read when you just want to relax and not think about anything.

(My rating is 4 at most but give it 5 anyway to help raise the ratings)

She's quite prejudiced with her 'villain' brother because of what she read in the novel even tho she knows there's not much detail written about him and I don't like her for this. I don't find her thoughts of avoidance or rejection of her brother funny at all. Rn I'm not into this.

The good things:

  1. FL and FL's brother relationship is so cute and fluffy. As per title, this novel focuses heavily on their sibling relationship.
  2. The plot is fairly straightforward without twists and turns. FL's brother is OP and overcomes everything with little issue
The bad things:

  1. Characters aside from FL and FL's brother aren't really fleshed out
  2. There isn't much going on beside the development of FL and FL's brother's relationship.
I mostly enjoyed it as a quick read and the sibling relationship was simply adorable.

Regarding the original FL and ML of the novel: (for those... more>> who missed it)

FL and ML met each other after the Su Banquet. The ML r*ped the FL after the banquet and so they hated each other. The original 3rd, 4th ML of the novel (the ones who rescued her from the villian's house) went up against the ML and basically made things super difficult for him.

This story is full of pure bonding between the FL and her brother. Cute and fluffy moments between this siblings. I enjoyed this book a lot. The FL one day read a novel in her house and taken away by her brother's bodyguards told that she was a long lost daughter and her brother has been searching for 10 years. She couldn't believe the villain in the novel is her brother. At first she was scared as the novel depicted him very cold blooded and cruel but as the time... more>> passed by the FL started to believe and see his sincerity that he means no harm at all. What I like from this story is although the FL suddenly gain future sight from the novel it doesn't mean she can suddenly become powerful and intelligent to avenge the og leads. As a 13 years old child, she doesn't mature suddenly and still have childish thinking and acts. I found it refreshing as not like others novels.

I wanted to give 5 stars at first but I deducted one because the ending is quite abrupt and there are still plotholes unexplained. I would love if they make it a bit longer.

Overall this is a good story if you want a focus on siblings relationship and no romance.

I cried a lot when the truth of the past life is explained, it was so heartbreaking that both of them have to live a miserable life just bc of og leads. I wanted her to tell the past life to his brother but I guess not all can be said for the present.

One of the good light stories. There are no super complicated or super problematic issues with the story. The leads are not magical, it's told in the story that the CEO and his sister have to wake up early and plan stuff to complete the projects / work. One thing I did like that the sister doesn't instigate her brother to take revenge for last life and neither does she plan to take revenge herself even though it's heartbreaking why the villain turned black. The other issue was that there was clarification as to who attacked the brother - sister duo when sister was a kid. Nor is there a story about exactly how she got lost. From her aversion to dolls, I would say that was childhood trauma probably related to her kidnapping.

Also thankfully, the bro-sis are related biologically so there is no strange love affairs between them. The age gap, justifies why he is so indulgent towards her. He treats her like his treasure. <<less

The story is pretty good, heavy emphasis on familial love with no appearance of an ML yet.
The only thing that is almost stopping me from reading is the “villain” brother. He really is a sis-con and it’s understandable because of past incident but it’s SO annoying to read how he talks to his sister. For example when he’s talking her he asks her questions like, “ How is xixi doing?” “What does xixi think?” “Our family’s xixi...” Almost like talking to a pet...
You might think oh it doesn’t sound too bad but almost every chapter he does this like just talk like a normal person!

Maybe it’s just a me thing but it’s irritating.

I LOVE overprotective sibling stories, especially when it's an older brother doting on a younger sister and very very wholesome. For that alone I'm giving it an extra star.

However, the rest of the story is not that spectacular tbh. It's really basic, and there are some things I don't really like (eg. MC has a Master that raised her who somehow is responsible for her OPness in studying and physical strength). I will say it's not very annoying otherwise though, like MC's character is fine, bro's character is fine, and... more>> it's just a whole bunch of fluffiness.

It's interesting that there really isn't any romance at all. Like maybe a TOUCH the author tried to squeeze in in the end, but really no added value and also doesn't detract. It's also interesting to see a true sibling doting relationship without any tinge of in*est at all and a line firmly drawn (eg. She has nightmares and really wants to sleep with him to feel secure, but he refuses due to gender difference and sits by the side until she falls asleep instead). The ending is absolutely horrible, I think they just rushed to wrap everything in one chapter? Seems like the story got axed, they tried to explain the ending but lots of loose ends and no real conclusion. I'm okay with that because I feel like the story would've felt filler if it got dragged on though. <<less

Both of them would do anything for the sake of the other. Also did I meantion that the brother somewhat sent MC back into the past bc she was killed by the child of the OG! FL's child (not to mention on his birthday) and thats why the brother blackened. I would too if that happened to my family.

Oh yeah, and MC got separated from the family bc of enemies and her brother trying to protect her from them at the park

Love the interaction of the siblings and the villain being a sis-con towards his sister that he had lost! Just read the whole novel and found out that her master was actually involved with her present life and pervious life... the MC is such an op even though she looks like she might break with one touch, she really is strong and doesn’t need a man!!! I hope I can find other novels similar to this where there is no romance but loving siblings but gets misunderstood that they aren’t... more>> related. It just makes it more interesting and people getting whacked on the head after finding out the truth ;3 !! <<less

When I'm gonna finish the story I'm affraid if it Will be a sad ending but...... hah...... that great it didn't happen.

It's quite short and straight to the point. I feel like there should be more things happening... but the author decided to get it over asap. Which is why I think it's both special, as the ML is MC's doting brother, and so-so, because the story ended up just like that... it resolved too quickly.

MC's transition as young teen in distrust towards her 'villainous' older brother to bro-con is interesting and believable. Too bad her 'op-ness' is kind of useless except to highlight her as super smart strong school's flower... more>> especially towards the main issue (does a kick on the broken? car door included? I don't think so).

It's refreshing for this kind of genre, but, yeah, it's just like that. <<less

Translation was good, with a few minor mistakes. Storyline was good, I like that it’s more familial than romance. I read it in one night since it’s short and I cried buckets, especially when they reveal the real reason for the brother being a villain. (Where can I find an older brother like this for myself???). I truly enjoyed it.

I actually want to rate it 4, but accidentally tap 3😑

It's kind of a fluffy story, about reunion between little sister and big brother. The MC character is expected from transmigration (or rebirth as it was show for the last few chapters) , she is calm, smart and strong. The big brother is smart, cold to others but warm to those he love, and overprotective towards MC, moreover because he had trauma when he lose FL.

The original protagonists, as usual, for a story like this, is actually the villain, there... more>> are no likeable aspect that made them THE protagonis.

While the siblings relationship is cute and warm, the story flow is too slow and sometimes made me bored and skip few paragraphs, but the few last chapters and the climax of the story is interesting and engaging.

It's also left a question hanging, is the novel is really a novel, or FL past life, also it didn't explain who is FL's master, and why he help FL's brother regarding FL's destiny.

The story good enough but not the one that I want to read again. <<less
