Su Xi stayed up all night to read a novel and the next day she was taken by a group of men in black to a dark villa.

The leader of the men in black: “Sir Su and Madam Su passed away unexpectedly many years ago. We were employed by the Su family to find the missing young lady. According to the DNA comparison, you are the long-lost daughter of the Su family. You also have an older brother, Su Jingcheng.”

Su Xi: Su Jingcheng?! This name is a bit familiar, isn’t it the villain in that novel I was reading yesterday?!

In the novel, Su Jingcheng was a villain who was cold, twisted and committed all kind of atrocities. In the end, he would be completely pulverized by the male lead along with the second and third lead.

A cute and sweet story about the reunion of the cold brother and eccentric lost sister. The main development of the story focuses on the relationship of these two characters from the initial awkwardness to eventually warming up to the ‘villain’.

The real villains of the story are quite cannon fodder. I have a feeling that most readers will not be satisfied with the bad guys’ endings. I personally did not mind how it was handled. The enemies of the current life are taught appropriate lessons.

Su Xi can’t repress her hate... more>> for those behind the events in the ‘book’, but isn’t going to take revenge for something that didn’t happen. Her brother on the other hand intentionally avoided going to extremes for reasons that will be very clear to readers. I respect that this novel actually has people who hand issues over to the authorities rather than trying to carry out citizen justice.

Most of the enemies are pretty brain dead, but the author managed to leave me with the feeling that they had their own stories and plots behind the scenes. That is enough considering the focus of the story.

I don’t even mind that the potential romance was left as a cliffhanger. It was only important insofar as to recognize that the sibling relationship became stable enough for them to ‘grow up’ and live their independent lives/maybe establish their own families.

My only regret is that one plot point in particular. One face slap the story may have actually needed.
Spoiler

Are they really not going to investigate their parents death??? Find the mu*derer. Damn. How is it a happy ending with that major risk factor still around? I am much more worried about premeditated mu*der than an accident caused by a 3 yr old child.

Sweet and fluffy novel. Recommending this for everyone who wants to take a break from intense drama, hardships and dog blood romance.

I loved the progression of feelings between siblings. It's not an instant love and friendship, but a careful build-up of heroine slowly warming up to her 'villainous' brother. Honestly, reading stories like this I also want to have a bigger family, but alas... we have what we have.

MTLed this title, and read it in a day—the language here is simple enough for Google translate to pick up, so the... more>> quality wasn't that bad. <<less
