This was a cute novel. I actually didn't realize that it was by the same author as "How to Survive As A Villain" until I was already finished with the novel. Not as good as "How to Survive As A Villain" though.

I enjoyed this novel quite a lot even with ML constantly misunderstanding that MC doesn't like him. I like that MC finally was able to discovered all the love that ML hid from him in their past lives. I also like that MC always tries to understand ML instead... more>> of causing more misunderstanding like their past lives. ML is just full of insecurities and I can understand why. However, he's not the angry jealous type that will harm MC because of his insecurities. Because of this, I really enjoyed their relationship. I love how MC is constantly teasing ML and always making the first move too.

The reason why I gave it 3 stars only is because of what happens towards the end.

The novel was moving along just fine but then the author decided to pull the amnesia card. 🤦‍♀️ MC suddenly lost all of his current life memories. I understand that this was probably the author's way of making sure ML knows that MC truly loves him and is not substituting him for the prince. However, this only dragged the novel on and what's worse is that MC finally remembered everything after everything became a big mess.

There were also lots of details that were left out. Like how did the prince die and how did he come back? I also didn't care for the extra chapters too. I wanted more side stories of the side couple but the author gave us this whole new science fiction world that only focus on ML and MC. The side couple didn't really have a proper ending. Overall, it was a cute novel but not great. Still, not bad. I enjoyed it. There is a manhua (comic) version out now too. Still ongoing but just as cute as the novel. <<less

okay so first off, the novel is good. This kind of plots have been recycled again and again so let's not talk abt that. Let's just say that it's not too great but it's sort of interesting

nd ya know what's interesting about this novel? The big tsundere ml. Let me just say this right now, the ML is a big tsundere baby and u just can't help but like him.

he seems cold and indifferent but when there's the MC, he turns into this preschool kid who has a crush... more>> on the pretty classmate but he's too awkward so he acts cold and ignore his crush.

and the MC is very precious too. Hes sensible, understanding and cares abt the ML even tho the latter keeps ignoring him.

All in all, plot's cool in a repetitive way and if your looking for mild angst with explosive fluff then you'll love this. No doubt. <<less

Meh! It's not a bad novel, not so heavy in court intrigue more like just mentioned as afterthought. But misunderstanding was being dragged to 100+ chapters becoming repetitive. I know Gu Heyan supposed to be that too shy guy that always had trouble to speak his feeling for Mu Zhiming, but he also assumed the worst about Mu Zhiming without making any effort to talk things personally to him, and it became annoying. If you're into repetitive dragged misunderstanding light plot novel with a sprinkle of intrigue and a touch... more>> of rebirth plot this novel might be something you can put in reading list.... but don't expect much from this story. <<less

The most useless renaissance I've read, while others have already managed to make connections, discover secrets, improve themselves or save people.... this one just spends his life watching everything happen as if nothing, screaming save me... having knowledge and still useless...

ML clearly sees that MC likes someone else. As someone who's very reserved and has suffered a whole lifetime of misery, how can the ML shamelessly express his heart?

ML is just the kind of person who won't express his feelings and cause burden for others. The misunderstandings in this novel is very valid. It's how the MLs character has been created. And it's so much worth it once MC figures things out from his side. Eagerly waiting for more chapters.

This novel is one of the best examples of 'Misunderstanding'. It really shows how important communication is in any relationship.

It is well-written. Its characters are rich in personality and distinctive. The plot is also very interesting and surprising. Most novels have the typical reasons and actions for conflict like thirst for power and love for beauty but this novel twisted it in a way that was surprising but logical.

The best part for me is not the protagonists but the so-called villain.

Fu Yi was portrayed to be cold-hearted and power-hungry but he is also very pitiful. He loved one person but it is not meant to be. I think it was because she was the only light in his younger years when he was in despair. Until his last breath, what he cares about is that person.

I read a previous novel and had no idea it was the same author as "How to survive As a Villain", when I finished that novel I found out who the author was, so I decided to read this other novel. The best decision I ever made, because I loved this rare gem. I liked the plot so much, I really like Zhi Ming and He Yan, I love the dynamics of MC and ML. As is typical of 伊依以翼 novels, there are some misunderstandings, but I've had a tea... more>> of ​​acceptance, she always does that, I just have to be patient. And as always, a touch of drama. But that's not important, the important thing is my main couple. Oh, it's so worth it, just for them, it's so worth the two nights without a good night's sleep.

That's about it, I recommend this read. It should be appreciated and read over and over again. <<less

I love the ML and the misunderstandings trope but OMG CAN THE MC COMMUNICATE INFO FAST so that his Allies know what to do, and can he prepare better using his rebirth knowledge? Why Tf are you falling for the villains tricks so often unprepared??? I just wish he'll be a little smarter and more prepared. But okay it kinda all worked out at the end so I'll forgive you. I stayed up all night to read this. translation is great I love the translator notes and thoughts

First half is good.. Then it ran downhill..

Though reborn, the MC chose some very foolish ways to solve the problems.. He doesn't warn people because of some "Ohh it'd hurt their feelings" or "They're too young or naive to understand" shit.. Which in turn led to a disaster for all.. There's even 'amnesia due to secret medicine' trope..

The last half almost drove me crazy with frustration.. Three stars are solely for the first half..

Parts of this novel were a bit dull and probably drop to 3 stars, but overall it's really enjoyable. I felt the misunderstandings were a bit more believable than usual, and I really liked that MC wasn't super amazing at everything in this life after being an idler in the last life. The constant saving each other was nice too; no swooning, pathetic shou here. And they didn't immediately fall into love 😁
And we have a unicorn in this novel, ML is a truly quiet character. He won't speak unless absolutely necessary, especially to the MC that makes him nervous, and it was great to see in a novel. I've known people like this irl, but it's so rare in fiction.

And I HATED that there wasn't more hatred etc for the people from his first life, the emotion towards the people that tortured and killed his family was a bit shallow and flat
