So I hate reading receiws cause it always filled with people hating the novel for not being the exact thing they had in their head, but I just couldn't let such an amazing novel be bashed.

If you love Misunderstandings, Yandere mls (not too much tho) and Manly couples then this is for you. I don't know why the other reviews are whining about how the MC and the ML don't communicate, WELL THEY WEREN'T IN A RELATIONSHIP. Realistically why would they?

I also love that they genuinely love eachother.

It was really good up to the last final chapters. I feel a bit, unfulfilled at the resolution of the plot line, and the romance of it all. However, given that I actually finished, I would recommend this story!

Not a bad read. The dramas is all about misunderstanding. There aren’t anything too heartbreaking dramatic but abit near. The MC system is kinda useless, it was just there to remind MC to complete the plot. Then our MC was free from it. ML was a kinda fall in love witha bit of misunderstanding. And kinda darkened by it too. Because its quite traumatic for him. The story telling is quite easygoing as the MC so there won’t be to much heart wrenching scenes. But overall its a good read... more>> and good extras story. Thank you <<less

This book is like a solid 4.5 stars, no lie. It's totally become one of my faves. Sure, it dragged a bit in parts, but the ending totally redeemed itself.

What I loved was how the story messed with your head. It makes you want the bad guys to get what's coming to them, but then BAM! It shows you just how messed up that would be. Plus, the way they solve things in the end? Way better than any revenge fantasy.

Okay, this book was a wild ride. So many misunderstandings,... more>> it almost drove me crazy! But hey, that's what makes a good story, right? In the end, everyone gets a happy ending, which is exactly what I needed.

The part before, you know, the whole death thing? Amazing. Kept me on the edge of my seat, laughing one minute and feeling all the feels the next.

Only tiny complaint: I would have loved to see more of those characters from the extra chapter. They were awesome! Even though they never explained the whole transmigration thing, it didn't really matter. The story itself was just too good to put down.

Big props to the translator, heliotraipse! They seriously did an amazing job bringing this story to life. Seriously, their translation bumps this book up to a whole new level. <<less

This is def one of my favs, while it did slightly drag on for some bits the ending was mostly satisfying.

What I truly love about this novel is Wu Yimei, straight away I became quite fond of his character and everything that I wished the author would do on his character, like keeping him alive was done.

The only thing that I felt really salty about was the fact that the author just chucked away the system. Like how can you have almost half the story with them, then when the... more>> time comes just get rid of them (for real). Like ik that is how reality is in the story, cuz there was no need for the system anymore, but still gut punched.

Now the ending was mostly satisfying, I think it could've been better but thats only cuz I didn't want the novel to end at all.

Tots should read it!!!! <<less

Binge read most of it through the night till 7AM in the morning and the tears in some parts helped wet my dry eyes, lol.

Pre-death part was really good, griping, good balance of dog blood and tension to keep things going. Had a lot of stomach twinges and feels.

Would have been a favourite if not for the second part that dragged on a bit. Waited so long for the fluff but when it finally came it was only mildly satisfying.

Most loose ends tied up nicely, and the back and forth... more>> delays for the second part were somewhat explained in the leads’ thought processes.

Although the existence of the system, why transmigration happened wasn’t explained, I didn’t feel like it mattered.

I'm so happy I read this story 😭😭 Xie Huai was amazingly written, his emotional turmoil, struggles, character 😭😭 I wish there were more chapters. I was reading with eyes wide open when it came to his parts to fully digest and savour every word.

The logic made alot of sense from both character's perspectives. Nice plot intrigue. I'm happy with the ending and extras.

I'm kind of obsessed with this story right now. It was admittedly a bit slow and boring in the beginning, but it really picked up when the ML finally fell for the MC. And I felt bad for him, because the MC takes a REALLY long time to return those feelings, and along the journey, he constantly hurts the ML over and over again with his lies and deceit.

If you hates stories where the central conflict is the lack of communication, then this one isn't for you. It'll make you... more>> want to tear your hair out. I personally enjoyed it, but I get that many people will not. <<less

It's pretty good, not my fave... I just hate stories with long misunderstandings like this. MC acts like he likes ML for the 'plot' and ML falls in love with MC. MC repays debts with his life and ML is heartbroken. MC finds another body after a timeskip and thinks he's cut all ties but ML still find him and tries to sus him out. MC realizes ML might like him and panics. This is the part I hate. MC is so set on being straight and afraid of hurting... more>> ML, not realizing that ML is already being hurt by MC's indecisiveness and pretending. It's annoying because ML loved MC but MC just feels guilty for ML and doesn't seem to actually love him. Then, the better ML is to MC, the more guilt there is. It's rly cliche and drags things out.

Besides the relationship dynamic of the straight-being-bent shou and ML, here are good points.

The backstory of the person MC transmigrated into is actually rly interesting. The demon lord honestly deserves his own story. I'm glad it got explored, even though it's never rly mentioned again after MC transmigrated into another body and stops being the demon lord. It almost feels like wasted potential.

I think the story would've been a lot more to my preferences if the MC was less of a coward and actually communicated with ML. I get that it's not really his fault in the beginning, as he thinks ML hates him, but anyone with half a brain would realize you wouldn't be so good to someone you hate. The smart MC who is oblivious towards ML and ends up misleading him is a really overdone trope.

The story however is surprisingly well-written though and the pacing is really good. It might just because I like longer chapters though. <<less

While I love the idea of this story, at this point the plot is dragging. I'm only at the start and I'm already skimming the chapters (which are unnecessarily long btw) not a good sign tbh. I'll shelf this until I have absolutely nothing else to read.

It is a well written story, not extremely well written but still well written.

to be honest I did see the plot twist coming from a mile away but it still took me a while to process

its just that the immortal didnt even hesitate to join forces in order to lay rest to the demon lord in the original which makes me sigh plus if he loved his shidi so much then why dis he not understand that yan sui had been replaced? All though the answer is explainable

The critics in this novels reviews all have a decent point and while most of what they said is true, it is also not. Maybe I'm being biased since this type of plot is my favorite (Mad dog bottom x Kind of mad but sane top and Gentle x Also Gentle)

I suggest you read this without expecting much of a masterpiece? Like, this novel is well executed at least. Which kind of reminds me of another novel 'Monster' which is also a bit s*upid but I really liked it

After committing su*cide, MC finds himself transmigrated into the villain of an abuse novel - the cruel demon lord who had forcefully united the demonic sects and was terrorising the cultivation world, and who took the most beautiful, talented and righteous cultivator prisoner, tortured him and destroyed his cultivation, and spent most of the novel raping him in various ways until the protagonist managed to restore his cultivation and kill the demon lord. The MC is decidedly not a fan of his role, and manages to convince his System that... more>> it'll be fine if he skips all the torturing and raping, so long as the outside world believes it happened and the protagonist kills him in the end. Cue an exceedingly confused ML trying to figure this demon lord out, given just how different he is compared to his reputation. <<less

This novel actually deserves a 4.5, around there.

The story makes us want our sadistic thoughts to come true, only to then show us how bad it really is when they do, and then solves the problem as it should have been solved in the first place... anyway, I liked it.

There are many misunderstandings, at times it's really torturous, but overall I think the novel has the anguish I needed but in the end everything and everyone ends up well and happy.

It's a pity that there isn't the complete story of... more>> the characters from the last extra, because it's really very good.

There was a part in the story where the MC really went a little crazy and I was dying of fear that something irreversible would happen, but it didn't, anyway, it only lasts for 4 to 5 chapters.

At times there are some non-consensual elements but nothing too excessive, in fact, these elements are extremely common in stories, especially BLs, which are very normalized within the stories, but I feel that the author tried to use this as a narrative element to ask us "is this really what you want in a story? Then I'll give it to you, " so we turn back shouting "NO, " and the author says "well... as I thought, ".

Sorry for the writing errors, English is not my first language, and even if I understand it well, writing is still complicated. <<less

I love the first half of the story. The second half is terrible got season 8 terrible. Like legitimately don't read it just make up your own ending. It's actually so upsetting because the first half is really so good and it's well thought out and it even makes sense for the most part and the rest of it is just tr*sh. It doesn't even feel like it's written by the same person it genuinely feels like and it just drags out to the point I genuinely started to hate... more>> MC. <<less

This was an okay read for passing time. The final fight imo was kinda bland and rushed. Still I enjoyed reading this story. The translation is good too. I really would love to read one angsty version of the original demon lord's story.

Be prepared to read dogblooded misunderstandings that will have you begging for the MC and ML to just communicate. Although this novel dragged on for some time, I loved the dynamic between the two MCs.
Fang Li is a very realistic and mature character that is forced to play a coldblooded abusive tyrant despite being a kindhearted easygoing person. I also just loved how intelligent Xie Huai is and how he noticed the discrepancies of Fang Li's role as Yan Sui and his true self and was not quick to reach any hasty conclusions. Reading the push-and-pull dynamic between Fang Li trying to half-ass his way into fulfilling his role and Xie Huai unraveling his true personality at the seams was very entertaining, endearing and funny as hell. Not only that, but reading the contrast between Fang Li's chill and task-oriented monologue (him literally clocking in to play demon lord Yan Sui and then clocking out to go out and have fun) and Xie Huai struggling to inteperet his actions and eating vinegar literally took me out. My only real complaint is that the ending was very rushed.

The conflict of the characters and misunderstanding took the majority of the book, while the resolution and characters getting together was only 3-4 chapters (not including extras) long. After the misunderstanding is solved the main characters suddenly become super OP and defeat the villain and everyone quickly looks past Fang Li's past identity of being a demon lord. 😭 TBH I just wished the book didn't end on such a rushed note because it felt underwhelming that after almost 60+ chapters of misunderstandings and high tension conflict, it only took 2 chapters to resolve it and then the book was already over. 😞

Also Wu Yimei's screen time became nonexistent in the second half of the story. In the beginning he was almost played off to be the second ML as it was not stated whether he had a romantic or platonic feelings for Yan Sui. I wanted to see Wu Yimei learn about Yan sui's fate and not continue to be lied to and disregarded by Fang Li.

Lastly, I also wished to learn about Fang Li's backstory because he's so apathetic and indifferent about his own life. He has several conversations with the system about how little he cares about his own life and it's implied that Fang Li had suicidal tendencies. I'm dying of curiosity to learn why Fang Li thinks so lowly of himself and is quietly awaiting death.

i get that the whole plot is based on misunderstandings but its really annoying that by chapter 64 which really, is 10 ish chapters away from the end, the MC fang li is still muddling about unsure about his feelings about what to do about what to say and just keeps on hurting ML with his s*upidity. ML is toooooooooooo good for him seriously. Not even funny anymore, just tiresome to keep reading

I'll wait patiently for the translate complete. I really love MC and ML, I love everything about them.

I love how author writing the story, how intrigued their flow of story. I can smell the wind in cinnabar, I can see the mountain. I can feel what they feel, I can sense people chattering

This novel really alive, the characters, the world. Such amazing story, amazing plot.

It's not bad. The story is more interesting than some of the typical transmigration novel that is too long winded. The MC & ML dynamics got abit repetitive and boring. The main problem is ML is too boring and 2D. MC is not too bad he was kinda funny.

Honestly the original Demon Lord and his shixiong would have had a much better story with angst. Those two were actually more complex and interesting than the MC n ML. The MC is just a somewhat average guy and the ML is... more>> just like this perfect cultivator who fell in love.

The shixiong originally did care about the original Demond lord and original demon lord was using the ML as a substitute for his shixiong. In the later part of the story you find out that the Shixiong was actually the real mastermind n actually the reincarnation of the great sage BUT before he got his memoeries back of being the Grear Sage he really did care and favour his shidi (the original demon lord). He could have kill the Shidi n get the talisman but because of his genuine feeling towards his Shidi he let him go. I dunno I felt like the author should have explore their dynamics instead. Both Shixiong and Shidi were people who could be greedy, loving, selfish etc like they were much more interesting
