A Different Reincarnation

When I saw my stepsister bring the poor boy home first, I knew she had been reincarnated too.

In the last life, she replaced me and married into a wealthy family, while I married the poor boy, Fang Ze.

After marriage, my stepsister suffered domestic violence and miscarriage, and was framed by a mistress, ending up penniless. I stood by Fang Ze as he started from scratch, and he loved me deeply.

My stepsister was resentful and hit my pregnant self with a car…

Unexpectedly, we were both reincarnated.

In this life, my stepsister is eager to take over my life.

She thinks my good fortune is all because of Fang Ze.

And she’s right.

Fang Ze is indeed a rare talent and a perfect husband, while I am just waiting for him to do everything.

I was at a loss, but Fang Ze walked straight to me.

With a pitiful expression, he said, “Wife, why didn’t you come looking for me in this life?”

Maybe the people who rated this poorly don't have siblings. I personally love this story and unashamedly admit that it brought me to happy tears. At the beginning, I sort of sneared at the FL telling her sister she should try to live without relying on a man. It felt so hypocritical coming from a woman who admits her husband spoils her useless.

But as the story progresses, I realize this isn't a romance about the FL and the ml, it's a story about healing. It's about two sisters who both... more>> made mistakes, ruined their relationship, and sabotaged each other to death. It's about a sister realizing life isn't a competition with only one winner and one way to win. In the first life, it was too late for either to recognize their mistakes or reconcile. The second life thankfully allowed them to finally heal their relationship, take a step back, and realize the love they still had for each other. In fact, they help each other improve, become better, and live more fulfilling lives.

And for the people who complain about there not being enough retribution or romance, I don't know what to say. Retribution can be satisfying, but the whole point of this story is that sometimes, retribution isn't the answer. If the FL and ML had pursued retribution, they would honestly have not only managed to perpetuate the hate from their first life, but also made their life less fulfilling in the end. And the romance is there - it's the steady, supportive romance of a long-term relationship. The ML and FL are in the type of relationship that doesn't explode with drama and excitement because they have a love that is just a supportive background to their lives. Their love is always present, but they're also more than a love story. <<less

Really short but really good, it managed to avoid every complaint about transmigration stories I've ever seen just by hurrying everything up.

Spoiler
    • MC did not avoid ML but fought her sister for him
    • the misunderstandings were avoided because MC, sister, and ML were all reincarnated
    • MC was not a white flower but actually had a physical fight with the sister to get revenge
    • sister was very proactive and had her old abusive husband be kidnapped and beaten up rather than remarry him, the sister wasn't a cartoon villain and did have some moments where she helped out MC in the past, AND the sister came to her senses, apologized and decided to live without depending on a man
      [collapse]
The only complaint I have is that it's too short, but I think it wouldn't be as memorable if it was longer.

The main story is a solid 3, but that extra really pushes it to a 4 for me

Spoiler

No one's truly perfect except maybe the ML (boring), but that adds some variety.

We see later on that the stepsister originally wanted to get along with FL, but got bullied at school, which FL knew about but did nothing because, yea, if I were a kid, I wouldn't be cool with my dad's illegitimate kid and mistress (while the legal wife was still alive btw) moving in soon after my mom died.

We can moralize and high-horse ourselves that we KNOW the stepsister started out blameless, but as a GRIEVING (and most likely embittered) CHILD, FL can only be blamed to a certain extent.

Stepsister gets a nice redemption for how fast-paced this was. I'm really glad everything turned around for her, and she got to live well in the end with her own flourishing business and maybe her own man. She honestly sounds more like OI FL material if she were less transfixed on outshining the FL and obsessing (short-term) over a man. She isn't completely evil, and she seriously regrets her actions, so it isn't hard to forgive her considering all her tribulations all her life.

I do so love when authors decide that women supporting women is the way to go instead of pitting them against each other

[collapse]

So yea, 4/5 for me. It's a rapid nothing piece, but I would recommend just for the trope subversion halfway through <<less

I'm honestly loving these short stories. Not too dog blooded, not too stretched out. The fast pace makes it so much more enjoyable. I love a good immersive long story but sometimes you just want some interesting entertainment without investing too much time.

This story is worth reading. I love it when women support each other instead of trying to drag each other down. The ML was honestly just a side character here. He was there to support the MC but the focus wasn't on the romance, but on the sibling... more>> love.

Neither the MC not her sister are perfect. They have done quite a lot of things to hurt each other. The sister was traumatised and did something she regretted for a long time even after reincarnating. Similarly, the MC had hurt the sister in a way that couldn't be easily undone.

Spoiler

It makes me feel better that the sister genuinely did not know the MC was pregnant when she tried to hit her with a car. She was driven crazy by her circumstances but she wasn't crazy enough that she would take it out on a completely innocent and harmless life.

The sister is worth sympathising for, she did not ask to be born as an illegitimate child. However, the MC is not to blame either. Finding out her father cheated on her mom and had a child and mistress outside, right after her mother died, I don't think anybody can blame her for disliking the sister. However, this bad blood ended up destroying multiple lives.

When the sister isn't busy obsessing over the MC, she's actually quite a capable person.

[collapse]

The best part about this story is that nobody is perfect. Well, nobody except the ML, but we all know he's not the focus here. It's a short story that won't take more than a few minutes to finish and is much better than other long dog blooded stories where there is no actual plot and no redemption or character development. <<less

Although ppl say the sister being forgiven a bit too easily, but I say, it's good enough because the last life she's been in ab*sed for years, her baby gone, her husband are shit, her own family doesn't want to help her, her sister live better, she's also being born as illegitimate child, she's tried to friend with her sister but denied, got bullied in school, constantly being talk behind her back, anybody will be a villain and crazy in the end, being in that state for your whole life... more>> would make you harder to see the good in other ppl.

She know she's wrong in the end, and she regrets it very much.

For me, the one person to blame that makes me want to put a sack and beat is the FATHER. A fckng a hole. <<less

This was a fast read just good to past time. Narrative was very quick. The FL (An Le), ML (Fang Ze) and her villainess sister (An Ran) were all reincarnated.

Initially, I thought the focus will be romance between FL and ML... but turned out more FL's relationship with her sister.

Honestly, I'm confused how to feel bc I think An Ran need more retribution and redemption. However, at same time... I think she also suffered enough in past life and just did bad bc she's already on trauma.

A short story that follows exactly what the description entails. In honesty, I would rate this 3-stars. However, considering that I'm the first rater... I didn't feel right to leave 3-stars.

The story felt more like the frame work as it gives more of the idea of the events, some cause and effects, but not much details. But I guess that's what makes it a short story. I like the fact that the sister wasn't purely made out to be the bad guy. If this story were written to be more... more>> in depth, it would be enjoyable to delve deeper into the complex relationship between the sisters and their childhood.

Overall... decent premise. <<less

This story was kind of heartbreaking to read. I mean, both An Le and An Ran were thrown into love and hate relationship because of the adult's wrongdoing. They could be a close sister but their circumstances made them enemies instead. An Ran might made a mistake but An Le was also wasn't completely innocent either just like An Ran who wasn't completely evil.

Spoiler

In the beginning, An Ran tried to get close to An Le but An Le hated her because she's the mistress's daughter and An Le only watched coldly when An Ran got bullied. It made An Ran psychologically twisted and they became enemies after that. An Le might be in the wrong to treat An Ran like that but we should also understand her feeling when facing the daughter of her father's mistress. Of course, An Ran as a child was innocent but An Le was also quite young at that time so maybe her thinking wasn't mature enough and she couldn't understand the complicated thing behind that yet. Later, after she became more mature, it might already quite hard to mend their broken relationship.

An Ran was also had a share of mistake, especially when she hit An Le with a car. However, she was already mentally unstable at that time after being ab*sed by her husband's family for years and being shunned by her father. She finally lost her mind and An Le happened to be in front of her. Later, An Ran regretted her action deeply and she redeemed herself after being reborn. An Le also apologized for her action during their youth and they finally became a close sisters.

This one has become one of my faves. It’s a beautifully written redemption story that didn’t come off tacky and was rather natural. Such a short story with so much packed inside. The pacing was done well between timelines and scene changes. Their second lives were truly fulfilling. The extra made me laugh and cry. Please read it!

A great redemption story. The sisterhood is written nicely eventhough its short. As mentioned in other reviews, An Le is not entirely blameless, but this story tackles that too, and it's nice to read the happy ending for all of them.
