This novel is excruciatingly simple. Not only simple, but the plot constantly repeats. Some "small" party will nearly die, but is saved by the main character. The main character will then proceed to decimate the enemy, rarely losing and having to retreat. This has happened roughly 20 times by chapter 432, likely more.
However, that isn't the main gripe I have with this novel. The main character has basically no end goal except to get stronger, along with the fact that he can escape from any fight at any time renders any "tension" pointless. Furthermore, it took over 300 chapters for the main character to actually communicate to a intelligent species.
Aside from these, the plot is simple. Decade-long timeskips, main character evolves several times, fights something, wins, scale of what he fights increases. Repeat. This never stops repeating. At chapter 432 there is no overarching plot. There is no enemy that can scare him, if anything injures him too much he can easily get away, nothing can match him in terms of speed.
Furthermore, the power scaling in this novel is atrocious. The main character never actually reveals his power in the terms of intelligent-species classifications, so all you have to rely on is other POV's. However, when I say "intelligent-species" I'm using that very lightly. Every single creature has an IQ of a toddler, regardless of how much the author elaborates on everyone being natural-born geniuses. They completely underestimate the main character, send some small tr*sh mobs to fight him, continue to underestimate him, send something slightly stronger, etc. This repeats to the point where the main character is already stronger than everything around him, so the author has to time-skip decades in order to find something that can fight him.
Overall, this novel was a disappointment. It seemed interesting at first, but it quickly stagnated under the usual "MC is a genius and everyone else has the IQ of a walnut" cliche.
- Our MC encounters a powerful enemy.
- The enemy greatly underestimates the MC.
- The enemy loses and helps the MC to strengthen.
- The MC finally wins.
- And here we go again, we start from the beginning. Except that in most novels, we have approvals next to it. Secondary stories of the MC or his relatives, other stories that happen to the MC,... In short, there is a common thread, but also secondary threads. Not here. Right from the start it is like that, but it is especially with the arc that began "the space age" that it is most obvious and, honestly, boring. We must be in the 300 chapters which ONLY make the diagram explained previously.
There was a vague attempt of secondary thread with a knowledge of our MC, but it is badly used and especially it speaks about it once every 60 chapters. Honestly it's a pity, because the beginning is very interesting, despite, once again, its already rather abusive use of the diagram. But after... It's just a pain. So yeah, if you wanna read this novel, stop it after the start of "Space era".
