I liked this novel more than I thought I would. At first I thought it'd have a lot of angst but it's not much. Even in times of tension, MC's, Han Qingyan, casual attitude relieves the tension. The narrative is a first person POV which normally I dislike but in this case, it made me like the character quicker.

The ML, Xiao Zhongnan, is the powerful and aloof type. He isn't rational at the beginning of the story so his treatment of MC wasn't intentional. The author skimmed through the noncon... more>> scenes at the beginning of the novel so sensitive readers will not be traumatized.

ML went crazy due to qi deviation. He had been in this state for 4-5 years. This happened indirectly cause his wife and baby died during childbirth. When he save MC, he was out of it and wanted MC to have his baby. MC later lied to ML that he was pregnant and was able to live with ML in relative peace. Later, MC recovered from his injuries and left ML but he did come back cause he was worried about ML. However, ML had left too and could not be found.

MC went back to his sect and the new sect master tried to kill him. He got away but was caught by a righteous sect. Later, MC and ML happened to meet again. ML was sane again and did not remember MC but he saved MC since MC returned ML's jade to him.

ML's situation acted up again and forced himself on MC. ML felt awful about it and took MC back home with him. Things happen, MC cures ML's illness, more things happen, and they confess their mutual affection and live together happily.

You know what, I actually find r*pe when the ML is literally crazy/mentally handicapped better than when the ML is supposed to be a 'normal' person. At least logic isn't "I love you so imma do you even if you don't say its okay", but no logic at all, just a crazy dude wanting a kid for whatever previous tragic reason. I find the prose entertaining. Based on the other reviews, I'm looking forward to reading the rest.

***Okay so after 2 years, I finally finished reading this*** Rating: 3.2

It kinda... more>> gets worse?? Like I expected it to get better after the MC and ML separated (aka MC escapes from ML), but he pretty much accomplishes nothing before losing his powers again. The cringe-y abusive s*x scenes actually got WORSE after they reunite because of the MLs 'condition' and the MC ended up doing this super cheesy dual cultivation life-saving thingy for the ML to cure his illness.

Long story short-- the rest of the novel was a cheesy angst fest. The good thing is that it's short.

ML also kind of sucks even after he gets his intelligence back. He's one of those MLs who is like 'imma protect you and I trust you' to the MC, but then immediately doubts the MC when one tiny thing happens and also fails to protect him repeatedly. One thing I did like was the ML's past, where he had a wife. It gave a bit more depth to his character and the story. It's very rare for BL characters to have a past with a wife or even other male partners and for it to be described in any detail. <<less

It's a really sweet story. The r*pe isn't as bad as you think. It's actually a bit sad why it happened after you've read the story.

I actually cried for the MC and ML. They both have very sad stories which led to how they met. You'll really feel the ML's longing for the lunatic.

Although the MC was r*ped in the cave by the lunatic ML, the ML really cherished him and loved him. He took care of the MC and wanted a family, but he doesn't understand that men can't get pregnant. After the MC leaves the cave he finds out that he actually cares and miss the ML, but it was too late. The ML, who suffered from amnesia, regains his lost memories, returned home, and forgets everything that happened in the cave.

Read at your own discretion. The tags have warned you. If you can get past that, then this was a fun quick read. Short sweet and simple. There are bitter segments, but the fluffiness overrides it. It was just the right length; long enough to enjoy, short enough to wrap itself up without loose ends. I liked the quirky characters and the main character's commentary was relatively relatable. The setting worked well. While I'm sad to see something with potential end, I'm glad it didn't drag on long enough to... more>> stop being enjoyable. <<less

Short summary: A demonic cultivator after being left for dead is found by a mentally deranged person.

The novel is well written and the translator did an amazing job on this.

The thing I loved is that there is no r*pe simply for the sake of it.

The ML is deranged and only r*pes him because he is sick. He isn't a yandere and doesn't r*pe MC because 'he loves him' or other sh*t like that. He is repentant when it happens and afterwards they have consensual s*x further down their relationship

The relationship between MC and ML is very sweet too, the ML is very doting but not yandere and the MC is also an enjoyable character.

The MC's pov was actually very realistic.

This story really sweet and prick my heart at the same time... I think I'll go mad if this novel ended with BE :-[

Hahaha. Except the r*pe part, this is actually a very sweet story. But, beware, the sweet things only happenned towards the end. In the middle, I almost thought that this will be some kind of happy but sad ending. Fortunately, its a big HE. I MTLed it, and easy to understand. No worries. I only hope there will be more smutty scene. Hehehheehhe ?

Oh my God, MC. Please, I get the whole thing of being kind to those who kind to you, but at least leave a tiny bit of dignity for yourself. I know there's a r*pe tag, but that doesn't mean you can just accept it and take it as paying your debt to the other. Love is blind, that's what I got from this story.

Everytime the MC reminiscing his past with psycho, I wanna grab him by the collar and tell him that the psycho take him as someone else! The MC's kindness and s*upidity are separated by a very thin line.

I still read to the end despite getting infuriated by how weak the MC was. I get that he wasn't the almighty sect leader nor did he want to be one, and he always got hurt, at least do something for yourself rather than hoping that your past 'lover' come to rescue you.

I was skeptical due to the r*pe tag but honestly it was nothing like I thought. The ML is mentally unstable and wants MC to give him a child (even though MC is a man, but he has a few screw loose so...) and so the r*pe happens. It was kinda brushed over and I can't really blame ML so I just skipped over it.

ML definitely treats MC very well. It was all really sweet. Even if ML is an amnesiac and mentally unwell.

It was really quite a fluffy read... more>> and I loved it. It can also get really really angsty in a few parts so be prepared. But overall it was a really sweet balance of angsty and fluffy and I loved it sm. I wanna re-read it sometime. I feel so bad for the MC and ML btw, their backstories were really tragic. <<less

I finished it and it is not that good. The MC is supposed to be sect master but act like dumb damsel in distress. At every turn, he cried that others keep on plotting against him. But the problem is he is just darn s*upid. Author needs MC to be naive and s*upid so that storyline can progress. MC keeps on delivering himself into obvious trap then cried when he was obviously betrayed. Also MC as sect Master need to be rescued like wearing by ML, obs for plotline. I was cringing so hard while reading this even as I reached the middle parts. First of all, r*pe as the basis of a relationship never sat well with me. It's as if Stockholm syndrome was used just to ab*se the MC and the readers.

Additionally, it's like MC has no backbone or dignity at all. Like man, still pining after ML after all that sh*t happened is beyond me. I get it that it's because of ML's circumstances but damn. That amount of self ab*se is just beyond me.

pleasantly surprised at how this novel serve us, not bad at all

please well aware about the ra*e tag, because it happened multiple times, but it's not under his control..

and you just can't hate the ML because he does loves MC so much.

I give 4 stars because r*pe is not an okay thing. Also, Stockholm syndrome like thing going on, revolves around the r*pe, once more - not okay. Would have been 5 stars if it had not skipped over what should have a more emotional reaction during and after the r*pe.

Do not get me wrong: it is an emotional story - very moving, sad, bittersweet, longing, tragic, exc.

In my opinion, it is totally worthy of 4 stars (maybe even 5).

I was expected a pwp but no. It has a good plot and the angst caught me off guard. There were a few dark moments but the fluff balances the story out (｡ﾉω＼｡)

Overall, it was a surprisingly good read. It was long enough to keep me invested but also short enough to not make me lose interest. The translation is also very good :)

This was honestly amazing, an absolute 5/5!

Looking past all the noncon the main CP was surprisingly really wholesome and cute. I also feel that noncon was actually used pretty effectively and actually added to their emotional turmoil. All of the characters motivations and actions make perfect sense, and we do understand why the MC falls in love with the ML. The ML isn't yadere or overly cold and stoic, you can tell that he really does love the MC. Of course if r*pe/s*xual assault is triggering to you regardless of... more>> context I would definitely steer clear. But if you want something short, with lots of twist and turns, and are ok with reading about some heavier topics definitely give it a go! <<less

The author just continued giving us death scenes, and those really made me cry ?. But those scenes were what also made the resolution unabrupt, while at the same time making me realize that I would be fine if he died but him living with psycho would make my heart at peace... Really HE is always at the top of my heart

This is a short novel that is both fluffy and angsty at times. It begins with a demonic sect leader being chased by the righteous/orthodox sects until he falls off a cliff over a mountain range. With life-threatening injuries, he is saved by a man who can barely speak living in the wild who he later calls "Crazy One".

The "Crazy One" takes care of the injured man and seemingly mistakes him for his deceased wife, called him "Beloved". This is where the r*pe/non-con tag comes in.

Both characters have tragic backgrounds... more>> and what begins as a purely physical relationship slowly changes into attachment and love. If you want a "love at first sight" or wholesome relationship, this isn't the novel you're looking for. The Jianghu is depicted in all its ugliness and people are shown as being realistically self-serving rather than noble or with righteousness. The two characters are looking for peace and love after being hurt by life.

There is some mystery, action, and romance, along with a happy ending for the main couple. All in all, it's a nice one-volume story. <<less

The writing is good, but the plot jumps around too much, and the ending, while HE, doesn't make much sense. Neither does the romance - I don't mind the r*pe, but it's not believable that both MC and ML fall in love to that extent. It especially doesn't make sense for the ML, it should have been better developed. Short and easy read though.

5. Cheap Shou: literally gets tormented [e.g clear as day of being treated as a substitute whether in the past or present, limbs dislocated, genuine bites, and ripped bloodied anus] but still stays with him.
