A love story about a beta who lost his memories and is unsure why he would have an alpha husband in an ABO society. It goes through solving the question on what caused his amnesia and rekindle the love between the two partners and get through this hurdle together.

There is a lot of lack of communication with the ML and MC at the beginning which is hard and makes you want to tell them SPEAK CLEALRLY!! But one had lost his lover and the other lost everything so it's understandable that they're both dealing with alot and feel alone now that they don't have each other like before...

10/10 highly recommend I binged read because I couldn't put it down!! <<less

I feel like this novel is bit underrated. The novel has good plot, good characters, good pacing and author has done really good job in relaying every character's perspective. Overall the novel is really good read. Don't read the novel with the mindset that MC and ML are married and are already in love. Since the MC loses all his memories, their relationship comes to square zero. And MC falls in love with ML all over again. I really liked it!!

It certainly wasn't a masterpiece and some parts of the plot seemed a little forced, but it kept me interested enough to get to the end. It kind of felt like I was playing mafia (or werewolf) with romance included, I had fun guessing who exactly was the one behind the accident. And the clues (at least I took them as such) the author provided in the character's conversations were also nice. Anyways, as this isn't really focused in mystery solving you shouldn't expect a genius protagonist... more>> or a mind blowing plotwist (MC was confused almost till the end about what really happened). <<less

I read this with speculations. Mystery offered by author is not dragging, it just right to be presented through out the plot. There are indeed some mystery author their self forget (or maybe not since the translation not yet finised), such as: wedding ring, inside of safe box, whether or not He Yufeng has a thing with Xia Wennan (MC), etc. However those are just side information, not an important element for the story plot. I wish those will be discussed in further extras.

I fall in love with Xia personality. He has respect for himself and definitely not a character easily to be bullied. He has self-respect, not self-important; he is not that character who capable to heartlessly harm other since he himself has been wronged before. There is reviewer said that Xia being an unreasonable with his husband, while he using his husband money and take advantage of his protection. Like, r u read the chapters properly? The moment Xia discharged fr hospital, he asked about the car that will transport them. who's? . His reason was to know who support the financial in this marriage. After that, Xia making sure about his own wealth and planning to move out to his own property. He also confidently asking about his job, as he sure will not let himself being a kept man. Through out the plot, I didn't see Xia taking advantage of the husband's money and power for his own good. Ming Luchuan (ML) provide the care and safety, Xia offer him his talent beneficial for the company. It always a mutual relationship.

He is an existence I wish every MC with unrequited love to problematic self-expressing with icy personality ML capable to act. Just like his proposal to Ming L,

"How do you feel about me taking care of you?" Xia Wennan said. His train of thought soon veered off track: "How did I propose to you back then? Did I get down on one knee?"

Ming Luchuan didn't answer him.

Xia Wennan immediately went down on one knee in front of Ming Luchuan, extended a hand earnestly, and as he looked up at the man, he said, "Ming Luchuan, look at you. You're so lonely. One dad doesn't want you, the other dad doesn't love you, and the childhood friend you had feelings for also doesn't like you back. Why don't you make do and settle for me?"

About Xia disbelief of marrying an alpha, its purely because his awareness of being a beta. The world he live, alpha's most relationship is with omega because those gender can fill each other needs. An idea of beta marrying alpha hardly accepted. His rejection with reality having an alpha husband because he know himself wouldn't have a chance with an alpha and he is not a type who desperately trying the impossible. His behaviour at first looks annoying, however I see that as self-defense. He has self-respect, and he won't let himself be bullied. With time and the story continue he finally come to understand that the relationship is equal so he accept Ming L and fall in love for him again. Btw, Xia low-key by realize it or not always care about Ming L just like him confronted Ming L's dad.

In conclusion, I found no fault with the charaters this novel has. Read it by yourself, then judge by your own preference <<less

I always steer off modern genre so it's really hard to write review, but I'll do it for my own sake.

I thought I want to try something a bit of soap opera-like (because there is amnesia), so I was surprised that this isn't like that, which is good.

... more>> It's a bit suspicious initially because their childish and unccomunicative personality are really upfront there in the first few chapters. It's also constantly became one of the major reason for their small arguments throughout the story.

Idk why I still liked this story tho. Perhaps because it just haven't touched my inverse scales (pet peeves) such as:

  • really s*upid characters or villains
  • too cliche or dogblood story
  • slice-of-life with absolutely nothing going on
  • bad pace, too stretched out problem
  • low level of editting/quality control
This story doesn't have that.

Maybe that's why I'm so generous to give 5 stars when I would even give 4 or 3 to my fav stories which are far more exciting.

Because my inverse scales are inverse scales for reason.

If you used to read better modern genre, I understand why this story might seems average to you.

But average is good sometimes. <<less

At first I didn't like MLC at all but over time I started to like him lol. MC is just My kind of insane tho I love him. I love how he's a little c*cky but he can back it up because he IS indeed a genius like lmaooo. Also I think MLC was attracted to MC from the start lol I know at first man was just desperately headhunting but overtime it was obvious how he did more for MC than what a normal dude was. I've got to say that the first 60 chapters really tested my patience, but I'm glad I got past them. Ngl it was the spoilers in all the comments on here that gave me the will to not drop this at first. Everyone pissed me off in the first 60 chapters and everyone was sketchy but it definitely gave insight on how lost the MC felt as well given his amnesia. He was also a total d*ck to the ML in those chapters though their relationship did improve past the... more>> first 60 chapters. The doctor was literally one of the only non problematic side characters as well, literally everyone else in the Ming family and their significant others came off greasy and infuriating at first. I'm disappointed that we don't see any progression in the relationships between the Ming members and their significant others and the ending felt abrupt and unfinished because of it. We never got to find out what the alpha dad or the Yin dude wanted to speak to MC about. The main story and the extras mostly focused on the male leads and their relationship so I feel like a lot was left unfinished. The omega dad was also a big disappointment all around, his character really got irritating at times, though MC eventually got the sass to sass him lol. But the He dude was definitely the most irritating of all even though he wasn't even the main antagonist. ML was adorable, and it was cute seeing him become more and more comfortable showing his affection. <<less

The most underrated novel I have ever read I was keep on skipping this novel after reading comments like MC acts so scummy and ML is bland blah blah blah but after reading in which line u felt MC act scummy or he is so mean..... this novel is very very good actually I have read it in one day without any break I like both MC and ML this novel at least deserve 4.5⭐

A beta X alpha story done right. I really like how realistic the characters were. In the beginning I was as confused as the MC in comprehending what was going on. I understand why the MC is rude. MC is not your average emotional and empathetic character. He is someone who is rational, curious and understands social cues without the emotional aspect. I felt the MC dealing the situation pretty well.

The ML s father is very human in a way. But he is irresponsible and was not much of a... more>> father to the ML.

The ML is your tsundere but done right because I could see so many alpha ML from other novels walking out of the situation but he is very patient and understanding. That is an aspect I appreciate.

Usually I read the author saying the ML or the MC is reliable, a natural leader, great but felt it was all bark no bite. Here both the MC and the ML are put under situations that showcase their abilities. And that is more telling than a bunch of meaningless adjectives.

The extras were giving more aspect to both their personalities, overall please read it if you want a realistic and unique ABO story. <<less

The plot is awesome. ML is cool on outside but soft in heart. Don't have so much drama and first time reading is bored but second time reading is so much better. Don't worry if you want to know the past. It came in the extras. You will not regret after read this novel.

5 stars to boost ratings. 4.3 or 4.4 at most.

The premise is really good and for a while I did enjoy the sense of mystery going on with the plot.

However, what I don't like is that the MC never really got his full memories back and so it was never explained how he could've fallen in love with the ML. The reason I thought this was important is because their interactions during MC's amnesia was full of gunpowder with ML being angry at his amnesiac husband at nearly every single... more>> turn. He doesn't even bother explaining things to MC to give him at least a working knowledge of the current state of their relationship or career. He just sulks in resentment that MC doesn't remember him. If I were MC, I'd also find it hard to believe that I'm in a loving relationship.

Aside from that, everything else was alright. The failed relationships around the main CP highlight the message that pheromones do not guarantee love and happiness. I thought it was a bit too contrived though that not a single couple around them had a healthy outlook on love, whether towards family or lovers. But it did help bring out the author's point. <<less

It's a good read novel not like a typical ABO genre where they are influenced by phermone and their primitive insticnt. Here not only MC (beta) and ML (alpha) & the side troupe is also trying to discover their love admist in world and presence of phermones. It's a worth read

My first ABO novel that I finished. I dropped it at one point because the interactions between the leads were so off, but later came back and finished. I thought it was a predictable mystery, there was nothing intriguing about it. All I wanted to know was how the leads fell for each other and their relationship which I found in Extras. That was sweet.

Translation was great.

That's quite a decent ABO story and I liked how it thought about the problems of love, behaviour and pheromones.

It isn't moralist and there's emocional depth about the ABO problem.

On the other hand the mistery actually annoyed me. It was ok, we can follow the traces... it doesn't have plot holes... BUT I always felt like there's a "wall" blocking the flow of the story.

  1. The romance is not very convincing.... a bit superficial and a bit pathological.

Initially didn't grab my attention but the family drama kind of s**ked me in because gosh, they are one hot mess. And I read some reviews so I've braced myself for MC's attitude at the beginning. He was harsh and brash but not as bad as I expected given the circumstances. He did seem unnecessarily harsh towards ML but it did seem like a self-defense mechanism.

why did not one actively try to jog his memories or tell him about past events? Just a couple of characters rhetorically asking him if his memories are back yet now and then. I mean ML did point out that even if he did tell MC, MC wouldn't believe him. But this lack of information seemed to have worsened MC's distrust in his surroundings at the beginning. Which led to all his harsh behaviour.

Overall, I love their bickering relationship and how it developed later in the book.

while the plot twist of switching places was a surprise, it's not as heavy as I expected. It's literally just rich people family drama mixed in with heavy dose of jealousy and self-esteem issues. I actually felt bad for Sichen but I guess he probably ended up with a long jail term (never seemed to be explicitly stated). I'm glad MC totally called out Ming Qin on his poor attitude and he seemed to be changing slightly for the better at the end as well.

So it's been a rollercoaster for an abo book with a very good beta MC (representing the majority, finally!) and one of the best alpha ML there is so far. I'm really enjoying the extras. In fact, I wish the whole book was the extras on how they got together than all the rich family drama. <<less
