Fourteen-year-old Su Bei almost died when she caught a high fever, got transmigrated into another world, and finally figured out a shocking truth—it turned out that her original world she was just a novel and her whole family were villains.

The woman who gave birth to them was the cannon fodder in the novel. She and Su Xiaobao were written like this in the extra chapter: One was a little bastard who tried to bully the male lead’s daughter and eventually got thrown into prison and the other one became an escort who, after having failed to seduce the male lead, was killed by an evil director. They also have a dad whom they never met and was the biggest villain in the book.

Back to her original world, the first thing Su Bei did was to take Su Xiaobao and find their father.

Su Bei: Su Xiaobao, quick, call him.

Su Xiaobao: Call him what?

Su Bei: Call him dad.

Su Xiaobao: I don’t want to, do it yourself.

Su Bei: Dad!

Looking at these two dirty children in front of him, Mr. Qin’s eyes showed disgust.

This is written very well and the translator is also done a great job!

The plot is neat and the pace is just right, not to fast nor too slow. I like how the writer neatly put every piece in the right proportion so there is no such thing as a filler or unnecesary plot.

The writer is also successfully wrote a distinctive character development for each of Qin family member. Even the comedy tone is perfect. I like every interaction in this book. It deserve 5 stars.

The extra chapters is a... more>> bomb! It wish a longer extra chapters. It's that good! <<less

A fun short read. I really love the interaction between the twins and their father. It was very heartwarming to read and it just made me laugh and feel the cuteness of the characters.

It focused more on family which is good for me. The little bit of romance at the end was put together just so the female lead ended up with someone. 😂 The extra really made me cry 😭😭

There are major plot holes, female lead has unrealistic computer skills, romance is terrible.

But the storyline is not cliche and appears to be original and not that full of tropes.

It is only 100 chapters long, so a fun, light read.

I finally finished reading this novel today, and I sure enjoyed it very much. There is no overly complicated plots, and the conflicts also get resolved cleanly. Overall, it's a pleasant quick read that focuses on the twin MCs and their father's acceptance of them, while also learning on how to be a father for them. Worthy of a five star rating from me!

If you are looking for a fluffy quick no brainer read then this is it. I love the family time and I adore the father-daughter and father-son moments. It's really a sweet novel that warms your heart. I wish there was more

I love this story. It's simple and lighthearted and the focus is mainly on family. The romance is an afterthought. The interaction between fl, her twin and her dad are really heartwarming and cute. Don't read this if you want schemes or heavy plot.

Fast read. Suitable to pass time. It is more like a fluffy, coddle-me type of story, instead of full on revenge and schemes where they sit on a table and talk about their plans. They immediately just walk on flower path and everything goes well for the leads right after meeting Qin Shao. It's full of praise from other people as well, like their wealth and beauty, even their IQ, just appreciation all over.

I feel like they could have dealt with a lot more hardships now that they became three,... more>> or that everything should not be smooth sailing always. I wanted more drama, tension and conflict, but wth right. This is a slice of life story, where everything goes well for an FL who should be matured but still acts cute for her father, whose twin brother became a cannon fodder and became just like an accessory.

Overall, it's an okay read to pass time. Translation is okay as well, just a little grammatical errors, otherwise it's great. <<less

I loved this short story to pieces. The only downside is the lack of romance but hey, the key thing here is the family which are all too loveable. XD

Definitely recommend, fairly light hearted, good amount of face slapping, and a bunch of badassery by our MC.

This is my current most favourite novel that I can't forget the storyline. Ok, let's ignore where FL is a great hacker, just focus in their family..

Its so fluffy, I cant get enough. Idk what to say but I really love it!!

Spoiler

The extra chapter, make me cry 😭😭😭. Yes, I know it's a happy ending, but still.. 😭😭😭 I really really hope there's a sequel to continue the extra chapter. I wanna know how the story goes from the father's point of view.

Thank you for translating!

First of I would like to address the big elephant in the room which was ⎯ the age gap. Compared to "Why Fall in Love if You Can Attend Tsinghua University", the ML handled it better. And since this is a story I am more forgivable in terms that mentally the FL is older and I've read a lot of web novels that have this kind of trope.

Spoiler

Not to mention Daddy Qin gave Lin Shaochi a hard time both physically and in business terms. Also he went and tried counseling when he learned that he like a 14-year-old girl (personally I would be appalled at myself).

[collapse]

I do not want to criticize this a lot and I really like the family dynamics of the Qin's. It was very light-hearted and the twins both warmed my heart. I was rooting so Young Master Su and Male God Xie CP but seeing this has no BL tag my imagination would suffice. There were also hints of colorism, bullying, and other problematic things that you would usually encounter in other Chinese web novels. But I was here for the fluff so for the people who would like to nitpick this story:

Suit yourselves.

This was a very enjoyable ride for me. The story was a short read with only 100 chapters and the plot naturally flowed. I really like Su Bei, Su Xiaobao and of course, our Qin Shao. Overall, I'll rate this as 5/5 because I'm biased. <<less

Surprisingly enjoyable although the romance is not the focal part of the novel. Lots of small details and family interactions make the story very heartwarming and sweet. The FL and her twin brother have an enviable bond. Their progress in getting closer to their father provided some great funny moments. Thanks to the translator for a fantastic and well edited work.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this novel. It's not as petty as other "transmigrated into a novel" stories.

These are the things that I liked:

  • I love the relationship between the twins. Although it seemed that they are too perfect, I love how they care for each other.
  • Spoiler

They knew their birthmother but she didn't become part of their life later on. I think it will really put me off if their bio-mom was forced to be with their dad and have a lovey-dovey family with each other. Her bio-mom is lacking in many ways for the twins. Tbh, she don't deserve them. And I like how she didn't pursue it further as she also have her own family. It is a suitable ending for the 2 families.

    [collapse]
  • I like the MC. She's a bit OP but she still has a bit of personality. I like how she had her own specialty in computer science rather than being a trophy daughter.
  • Spoiler

I like how the ML didn't immediately go for MC and consulted a psychologist after realizing he fell for a minor. Although he still went for her before she became 18.... I'm not a fan but because the MC's mental age is close to the ML, I can turn off my moral compass for a bit.

    [collapse]
There are also things that turned me off a bit.

  • In general, I disliked the common elements in Chinese novels which are: dark skin is ugly, girls should wear conservative clothes, girls are not expected to be competent and how there are a lot of extra characters looking for trouble. The reasons are so petty.
  • There are clear gender stereotypes especially when raising children. I feel bad for Xiaobai because he also deserves to be pampered. He's not any less than the MC
  • Spoiler

ML's psychologist friend actually advised ML to pursue MC since 'she's already an adult' and the ML went ahead a bit earlier. Would it hurt you to wait more? I think this part should've been executed more gradually. Their story is very rushed.

    [collapse]
  • Also, I think this novel (actually all cn webnovels in general) pays so much attention to netizens' opinions. I mean, I know there are a lot of shitposters in real life but it's barely significant to the story.
  • Also, a public hacking competition? Hackers required to reveal their identity? This is too dumb. And even if it is a hackathon where participants really show their faces, I don't think tech people will think that MCs appearance is relevant. I mean, a bunch of nerds probably has a bit of IQ and avoid shitposting too much.
Those are the general impressions I have after reading this novel. I liked the extra chapters because it made me cry. Without it, the ending would be too lackluster.

After reading, I rated this 4 but after reading more critical reviews, it's 3. In anycase, this is better than a lot of similar novels.

I can't say this is the most interesting novel I've read or the most well written but it's not bad. The drama is a bit more of a background noise with more focus on relationships, so if you like that you'll probably enjoy this novel. I would say though, that there are two main issues that prevented me from really enjoying this novel.

1. This novel falls into the trap that a lot of daddy&daughter novels/manga fall into: they make the dad the most super impressive, attractive, and interesting man in... more>> the novel. Basically, the author writes him the same way that you would write the male love interest and coupled with the 'maturity' of his daughter, all their loving parent/child interactions come off as vaguely romantic and a little off-putting. In addition, the actual ML can never measure up and becomes a boring, pale imitation.

2. In addition to the weird romantic vibes between the dads and their daughters, there is also the very weird possessiveness and guarding against their sons for their daughter's love and attention. I see this a lot in novels, so I'm aware it's a common trope, but it adds to the gross romantic vibes when the author sort of implies the dads see their sons as 'rivals'. All in all, very off-putting.

But if none of that bothers you, you will likely enjoy reading this novel. <<less

Made me smile quite a bit while reading. My favorite thing in stories is focus on relationships to each other, so this one really fits the bill for me, as the kids and their father slowly fall in love with being a family. I enjoy the side characters - though the villains as a whole were very uh.... Well, villainous. They didn't really have much to them beyond "ah yes I am here to be Bad, " but I didn't mind it overly much.

I do wish the brother of the... more>> MC had a bit more attention. The story definitely revolves around MC, and everything going right for her. There are times when they're both in the room, but the brother might as well not exist because we focus entirely on what the sister thinks and has to say and do. It's definitely a story where you read about one person succeeding over and over after having an unfair life. It's gratifying to see someone get their own revenge by living well, but not realistically engaging in terms of story.

To be entirely honest: I wouldn't rate the plot as 5 stars, or even give it four - but I wasn't enjoying this for a in depth plot. This is definitely a story to read if you enjoy somewhat more of a slice of life, of two teen kids getting a dad and everyone growing to love each other. I wanted a lighthearted, feel good story, and that's what I got. <<less

I loved the slice of life aspect of this novel. It was really about the life of the family and since Xiaobei is the MC, it revolved around her. The only thing is that the villains and the romance was really a subplot, in my opinion. They were more there to push the plot along.

The family life is cute and I loved the interactions between the characters. The only thing is that this is really more of a slice of life kind of story. The beating of the villains was... more>> not very satisfying and mostly Dad Qin was the one who did it. Also it is never explicitly stated what happened to Song Xinyi in the end, even though it can be deducted.

Overall, a cute, heart-warming story about becoming a family. <<less

it's a good novel with standard mary sue plot. No messy family drama and no over the top punishment for the villains (ex. Having terminal illness, being admitted to mental hospital, being an escort etc.) I hope the author researched more info about the ''hacking''. I also hope there's more chapter for romance or extra chapter for the FL and ML.

Definitely not here to critique, just to point out what the novel is, and those low ratings.

  • A good read after some dramatic or actioned novel for change of mood.
  • Very fluffy novel leaning more on family bonds and romance is very much later on of the story. (Like 5-10 chaps ending)
  • Does not have complicated nor have that many conflicts and it was very much ended early. Just really good enough for a change of mood.
  • Beginning is very entertaining full of brotherly and fatherly love, mid-way well yeah, conflict and resolution, ending is good and yet also sad. (That g*d darn extras)
  • Expect that there is no heavy romance it ain't actually the focus but how the siblings want to survive and the father to slowly begin how to be a father.
  • About the romance and ships, I'm actually expecting XM as the ML but the author just giveaway in every chance to hint who the ML is. I don't have much complaints in that as the author have justified the age, conflicting love, and the person itself.
  • And well, after you read the whole novel the actual male lead is the father hahahaha.
I'm sorry for the lack of constructive review. But I do recommend this as a light read for a change of mood.
