In a nutshell: og!Iris hates Alice bc she getting w/ her fiancé so she bullies Alice. It ends in condemnation. Iris gets expelled and kicked out of her family. She tries to go to merchants but her father told them all not to help her. A rich merchant takes her as a concubine, throws her away when he’s done with her. For 3 years og!Iris can’t find a commoner job bc of her noble attitude, becomes poor. She becomes a prostitue but again, her noble attitude makes it so she can’t get customers, she gets kicked out. She’s now worse than a beggar, repents and a man reaches his hand out to her. She believes it was a chance of redemption so she loyally follows him only to get stabbed in the back as the only reason the man helped her was to sacrifice her to an evil god. She watches as everyone she knew dies as the evil god damaged and when it’s abt to kill Alice and her ex-fiancé, a holy sword transforms into a human and kills it. Og!Iris finally breaks free out of most of it and still has some the evil god’s powers so she erases Alice’s and ex-fiancé’s memories, then she disappears.

What honestly turned me off the most was the lack of sympathy. Like, , , I get the current MC is trying to be evil but she straight up shames og!Iris for not being a real villainess because she didn’t get up after being defeated. Current protagonist watched og!Iris’ life in a dream from start to end but she’s like “oh she wasn’t a real villainess because she gave up so easily after one defeat” and I was like “whoa what the f*ck” because Iris literally was raised wrong, acted out when her fiancé was cheating on her and proceeded to get f*cked through life in the worst way possible and the current protagonist shames her for not being able to get revenge? Chapter 2 was basically og!Iris getting rocked and there’s no sympathy at all.
