There is potential female lead but their relationships are strictly business and she is suspicious of his nonstandard "experience". Pace is on the slower side but author is careful not to leave plot holes and give MC "thorough" feeling. Family except his knowledge a little too easily but it's possible to overlook it because they had no previous information and MC is trusted.
Characters don't really get character development and quite a few are the same character with name and affiliation switched. At the beginning I thought that author is taking his time to flesh them out but, sadly, they don't seem to have the talent for writing interesting personalities.
