The pessimistic and negative daughter of a concubine living in the ancient times thought – since life is so difficult, why should one invest serious effort in struggling to live?

The life of an ancient noble woman is often determined and controlled by her family. Moreover, one’s actions often implicate one’s entire family – thus, it is fairly common to see an unexpected calamity result in suffering borne by one’s whole family. Managing to live a good and successful life while retaining one’s dignity is simply too difficult to achieve.

Ah, living in the ancient times is simply too dangerous – we should all just sleep till we die.

Beautifully written and translated. This novel follows ming lan's day to day life. It's slow paced but you enjoy every moment. There are alot of light cute fluffy awww moments and little laughs. I love how you can actually relate and like the majority of the characters. Most of all you can't help but cheer ming lan on:)

One-of-a-kind MC, cute interaction between characters, and well-streamed narratives. Legend of Concubine's Daughter Minglan, at least until c17 part2 which I've read, is a must-read if you are a fan of novels with female protagonist and Ancient Chinese family intrigue. Although the premises where a modern woman got transported to the body of a bullied daughter in old China is not new, but it has plenty refreshing aspects. I'm looking forward to all 220 chapters that seemed like around the right length for a well-constructed awesome story.

This novel deserves more atttention, shame it would be hard for most people to start reading.

Translation: The issue is that the first 10 chaps has reallly bad translation, borderline MT. It gets better quickly still... Some people might not be comfortable with switching websites, but it isnt that difficult here. For most of the translations afterwards, it would be rather rough because of the complicated relations and background, but still good overall.

Its a new experience for me, reading a historical novel that is very accurate to the ancient times. Its... more>> about as genuine as it gets, and the itch to find out what happens remains throughout reading. Applaud to the author:D Give it a shot, if you like heavy reading this should be for you.

Note: this is one of the few novels of its kind that has a proper translation, plenty of chapters and is guaranteed more or less to be completely translated soon. So go for it, the cliffhanger is part of the fun! <<less

I would recommend this novel to everyone because it is simply brilliant. However, I won't. If you are just like me and can't read Chinese it will be extremely frustrating to read it as the translation is not moving at all. And only 4 new chapters have been released since last year August.

Honestly, I am dropping this until someone else picks up this gem.

Very good novel, it is not the typical one in which the protaginista accepts it as if it were something common and becomes the perfect young lady adapting everything to her convenience, instead she gets depressed and little by little she accepts it while she learns to live in her new environment. In addition the ability of the writer to present the personalities of the characters and the evolution of the story is to be admired: fluently and without feeling suffocated by the excess or lack of detail.

Its a very good read. Very refreshing, well thought and written. I am enjoying reading this novel. It feels like a real novel - with solid characters unlike the usual "arrogant/peerless" MC's. Very real and fun read. Especially the Grandparent/Grandchild moments are super cute and heartwarming.

I just have one question - who is the male lead? I really want to know before continuing with my reading. I don't want it to be that Gu two sons who was the fiancee of her friend - whom she helped to break an... more>> engagement. If it's really him, I don't want to read this novel anymore. <<less

i love this a lot. I honestly like nonchalant characters who are not fierce and think they are smart but in fact they are just violent. She is turns into a little kid she is cute and I love how she doesn't magical know everything about this era like other novels, she slowly learns and its more logical. This is basically about a women who time travels into a 5 year old little girl, who'smother is a concubine and died (probably murder) none cares for her her servants don't take... more>> care of her and she is often sick and weak. <<less

The story, the characters and their relationship are very intricate. You find out little by little all details about each character and each event from various sources. Not only the story, but the way it's narrated seems very realistic.

At first the MC is very sick and depressed, but slowly recovers. I think this actually makes sense. It did cross my mind reading other such time travel novels that the MC recovered too quickly from the shock. I, for example, would be very sad missing and thinking of the people close... more>> to me that will suffer since I died in my previous life, and all that.

The translation is not the best, but better than machine translations and releases are quite frequent as well. <<less

First impressions: I quite like it. Although the way of introducing the setting and characters is quite overused in the novel, which is introducing by chatting, it is still favourable, compared to other novels, and if we consider the physical and mental state of the MC, it is actually a good one. I have a good impression of it, its writing style reminds me of Ze Tian Ji in the first few chapters, which has a spectacular narrative style, so I am expecting a lot from this novel. I hope... more>> the story and plot will be as good, if not better, as the writing style. <<less
