Gu YuMian works as a zookeeper and lives a stable life. Until one day, when he transmigrates to the interstellar era which is different from what he imagined.

Hot microblog search: #Humans have been officially listed as an endangered species.#

The headline of the daily newspaper: [Annual salary is ten million, and there is no one to take it?! Mainecoon Cat Prime Minister said he offered high prices to recruit service workers for grooming, cat cooking, and manicure cutting, but no one has applied in fifty years.]

Gu YuMian: ….

Ten million a year? Coincidentally, he was a professional zookeeper.

Other anchors focus on things popular, fans and intrigue. Gu YuMian focuses on making cat meals, combing ErHa’s hair and little fox’s tail and feeding the panda cub. His live broadcast became more and more popular.

Later, Gu YuMian found out that the snow leopard he picked up was the Emperor of the Empire, the panda was a famous star, little fox was the chief of the biggest science institute and Erha was the hottest novelist in the whole world?!

100% cute fluff and positive vibes. The transmigrated zookeeper MC is a basically a cooking youtuber / cute fluffy animal nanny. He has some OP soothing power over the animalistic citizens, making them want to cuddle / submit to him.

On the other hand, the cooking-childcare descriptions can get repetitive, the ML is a typical cold, all-powerful, jealous, pampering stereotype, but makes a very cute snow leopard, and the ending plot is a bit hastily wrapped up, but the epilogues are sweet.

If you want something simple and warm, this is it.... more>> If you are a critical reader and have high standards, look elsewhere. <<less

Decided to put off finishing to read this one. Not particularly a good one to binge read but in smaller sections it seems like it would keep it more enjoyable. Didn't want to feel the negative vibes by forcing a binge so I paused myself and will come back later to read it.

This is the perfect story when you’re looking for something calming and soothing. As the author’s note had stated, there is no major plot - it’s mainly fluff upon fluff. There are cute cuddly animals, a gentle human MC, a gloomy and jealous ML, and mouth-watering descriptions of food.

Premise of the novel: MC Gu YuMian, a zookeeper from modern-day Earth, transmigrates into a future world where animals dominate, and humans are rare and somewhat discriminated against. Many of the animals in this new era have learned to change into human... more>> form. To earn a living, the MC starts doing live broadcasts of himself cooking and caring for cubs that find their way into his life.

I liked reading this story at night before bed because the descriptions when Gu YuMian cared for his cubs were so warm and mellow. It really gave you a sense of peace. <<less

It was a relaxing read, but not really my bowl of food (yes, not a cup of tea). Every chapter, and I mean EVERY chapter is all about cooking with little to no plot. It got to the point that I took a break from this because it bored me and it made me impatient. I read CRA before this and I was on the cub spree reading and my expectations of this novel left me a little disappointed. It was fluff, true. It was cute, yes. And if this... more>> is your bowl of food, It's a god recommendation for you.

It's written nicely, translation is good too. But not for reader who prefers a good plot and plot progression, well-developed characters and thrill. Just a warning though, although this is a light read, it can be a bit boring and tiring. <<less

It definitely had good potential, as I am very fond of cooking, adorable animals, and delicious plotlines intermingled together in a novel. However, in the later parts of the novel, the development of the relationship between MC and ML felt a bit forced. Also, the cooking parts started to overshadow the plot itself, and I couldn't quite appreciate it as much as I'd like, given that I also enjoy cooking description.

I'm giving this one 3 stars.

omg I cannot deal with this one. I should like it because cubs?? Cute. Food?? It was just too much food descriptions. Dont even get me started on the excessive mention of the number of viewers or whatever.. Yes he's popular af. We get it. No need to mention it every fckng time

what made me drop this though is im more than halfway through and the MC and ML relationship just feels too forced. There is no chemistry between them. And like its been months or days (i dont quite... more>> remember) but ML still has not revealed his identity?? He just feels like a stalker that appears out of nowhere. It honestly creeps me out.

also MC's relaxing vibe might have translated a little too well on text because I get sleepy whenever I force myself to finish this one.

it's such a waste though because the TL did a really good job on this project. <<less

I'm going to seriously say something before shitting on this novel. People are saying it's fluff, maybe for others who've never experienced racism, sure it is. Others saying to just turn off ur mind while reading it, can't really do that when the subject is something you face daily. So that annoyed the hell out me while reading this story. This story is sh*t lol. Boring ass story, don't waste ur time reading it. It literally sounds like a lame ass high schooler going through puberty who all of a... more>> sudden thinks they know the world and hates humans wrote it. It's simply just bad writing and sh*t posting. Sounds like the author is trying to live out their fantasy through the MC tbh. If you're expecting decent plot and characters that make sense, this is not the story for you. If you're expecting romance, not the story for you either. It's literally just taking care of animals but in a weirdly dramatic and bs way? Like he relaxes animals with his pheromones?? Please be serious. And lots of cooking, basic cooking. Oh and racism?? I guess against humans.. But this one human tho (the mc) apparently is easily exempt from that even tho they pretty much genetically don't like humans. Also the ML is creepy.. But I guess the mf has his reasons, still very weird tho. The world bends over its back, literally d!ck rides MC which I don't understand at all like wtf. Also the Zerg situation was weird (if u wanna know what I'm talking about, read other reviews. I'm tired of typing). <<less

It is nice in the points where the plot progresses and I enjoy the fluff. But 50% of the novel is just redundant and stretched out descriptions of food and cooking processes which doesn't count as fluff for me and gets really tedious. There many chapters named after food dishes and in these chapters 80% of the content is about food.

How to put it... its so slice of life that its boring. There's no excitement to be read and even the slice of life part isn't that good to keep me stay. It's dull and unexciting.

MC is a white lotus and a bit of a gary sue, ML is your clichéd possessive domineering ceo but make it an intergalactic emperor. He's kinda meh and weird, creep even.

Everything is like an ego booster for MC, his cooking wow, his livestream WOW, his presence even more wow! It's kinda tiring to see... more>> it happen again and again.

And the chapters are so long and kinda meh I was surprised I was only 40 something chapters in. Idk if its gonna change foe the better but ion care enough to continue <<less

It was a relaxing and fluffy read, I enjoyed this very much after a long working hours. I love how he cared so much about the cubs who just suddenly popped into his life and how gentle he was with them. I even agreed with some of his viewers that I kinda want to lie down in his arms.

Well, at least that was what I thought at the first 50 chapters of fluff.

Now I struggled to finish the chapters. Not because it's a bad novel or there's a shocking plot... more>> twist, but I had a fluff fatigue and so, my logical brain kicked in.

First, I wonder why he spent a long time caring for the cubs without seriously trying to find out their origin? At the arc I'm currently reading,
Spoiler

he was staying in the same city as the panda family, but he didn't work that hard to return the panda to his family. He never reached for any information while he was there, asked around the resident or the science academy. Everyone who saw him on the street would see that he was walking around with a panda cub, so why didn't he ask around? The family was a big one, so I'm sure one or two people would know about them.

Second, he was a zoo keeper. At the beginning of the story, he said that he wasn't a superb cook and then, the next chapter he made something which was supposed to be difficult to make. Even more, it was apparent in his cooking skill that he was quite proficient at it to the extent that he indirectly revived a restaurant in the brink of bankruptcy.

I'd understand if he knew how to make meals for animals, but he was making human foods, for god's sake. The novel was too heavily invested in cooking when the MC wasn't supposed to be too good at it, so that brain hole was too big to unsee.

Third, aesthetic fatigue. You'd understand when you've found enough words related to 'fragrant/calm/soft/delicious/popular' in the novel.

[collapse]

Okay, that's what I thought about this novel. Take it with a grain of salt but you should read this novel for its atmosphere, not for its plot. There wasn't much going on right now but I'm sure it'll be there. <<less

Highly recommended for readers who enjoy fluff. This novel is just full of fluff and enjoyment in cub raising hence, the title of the story. There is no dog-blood drama but there is a certain arc wherein the characters have to face their weaknesses or fears.

It has the best descriptive and narrative styles, thanks to the translators. Overall, it's a novel that anyone can enjoy. Also, I love the description of the main cps wedding. This is the second novel on my list that has the best wedding and... more>> proposal.

Last but not the least, a funny warning, read this at your own risk. You'll keep feeling hungry cause every chapter food is mentioned. <<less

Worth reading until you don't like it. I say it got better. Extras are optional. Skim food parts. I doubt I'll reread, but I don't regret reading it so much. Site for translation was garbage and kept kicking me out so I had to use wpadd, be mindful that they have some chapters duplicated and put of order around 70. Just pay attention to numbers.

Eventhough I am still reading it in early chapters and is still progressing to the late chapters. I absolutely love it. The gods must have blessed me because I found this novel.

The MC is really cute, caring and like a mother. The cubs are like the fire that is melting my soft-marshmallow-like heart. Its all good and nice. Yes, the story is good and very relaxing, cooking there, feeding here, it shows the harmonic daily life of MC with the cubs.

There is only one mishaps, yes I really don't wanna mention the ML, but oh well he's the mishaps afterall... The ML is annoying extremely annoying, I hate how he claims the MC as his in the early parts of the story, like man he is not your thing bro extremely possessive too, fighting with the other cubs for clearly nothing at all!!. His personality is annoying, pushing and bullying other cubs, I hate him because of that, it's not their fault they are reduced to that state. The MC is like their second parent, it is his obligation to take care of them, but it fells like the ML don't want the cubs to feel the warmth of MC, to feel the way he felt- parentless hehehe-.... Anyway conclusion I hate the ML...

It's cute.

Yes, the cuddles and food descriptions are repetitive and it is constantly mentioned how the MC is just perfectly loveable, but it's just cute.

If you want something sweet and that won't strain your brain, this is great. The BL is subdued and has that old fashioned, kiss and fade to black kind of feel.

... more>> It's not till the last few chapters that things happen, so you have a long wait of just placid, daily life.

There are some moments that made me laugh out loud and one that made my eyes tear up a bit.

If you like slow stories about daily life. Cute animals and lots of food descriptions, this is a nice story to read while relaxing. A perfect story to break up the super dramatic, fast paced and action packed stories that you might be reading.

I liked it. I will be adding it to my list of ones to reread when I want something cute and relaxing. <<less

Dropped at 54

It's not too bad... It's just soo repetitive! Cuddles, overly detailed cooking, lots of praises from an unexplainably huge amount of spectators. Very little progress of the main plot every other chapter.

Also The fact that the ML behaves literally like a 3 yo most of the times is for me a huge turn off.

It’s a very cute and fluffy story, with a great emphasis on cooking and the Cubs, but I couldn’t take anymore because of how pushy and immature ML acts (at the point where I stopped, c84).

Spoiler

Knowing MC will get angry with him because of all the lies and hiding, he tries again and again to push MC’s boundaries, including messing with his memories, alternating being domineering and cub to avoid being kicked out (because he’s an adult who can take care of himself and not, as he pretends to be, an actual child), ignores any attempts of conversation because he doesn’t want to deal with the consequences, and even opens a live broadcast out of nowhere without MC’s permission just so he won’t be kicked out because of his disrespectful attitudes. He’s childish and immature, and would never manage a healthy relationship between adults because of how spoiled and consequence-free he wants to act, and the narrative doesn’t condemn it - instead, it plays it as ‘cute’ and ‘playful’, and all of MC’s justifiable anger is immediately washed down as if nothing happened - because, after all, isn’t ML just a spoiled brat?

I think im going to drop this for now (at chapter 63) but maybe I'll pick it up again later.

I'm a little bored. I like stories that are all fluff! I like slice of life, and things going well for people with no real conflict. There are plenty of stories that I love that are like this (though I also like the other side of the coin, too.) But I find myself skimming this one more than reading it, by now.

I like reading about the MC taking care of the... more>> cubs, I do... but I think I've read approximately 50 chapters of the same thing. Somehow this man broadcasts 5 hours a day, and all he does is cook a meal... and then when they're done start cooking another meal, and then maybe a snack after. On futuristic stoves that take minutes to prepare things. Where is all the time going? I'm a little tired of reading about food prep.

Sometimes he brushes their fur. That's nice I guess.

Sometimes they eat at home. Sometimes out at a facility, or by the baths, or at the amus**ent park, but there's very little difference from one place to another. It's like sliding the cardboard background off stage and sliding a new one on.

The MC is nice, the cubs are nice. I don't mind the emotionally stunted ML taking his time and being deeply, deeply emotionally stunted, but I also wasn't reading this eagerly waiting for the romantic fluff. I like domestic fluff more, so the ML being a little bit... uh. Immature, and slow moving doesn't bother me.

I think this is for the most part well written and translated. I don't have any big complaints or negatives. I'm just... I'm bored. I think saying it's nothing but fluff is a bit incorrect. It is primarily a description of cooking food, which does not interest me. It's also commentary each stream on how unique it is that the viewer count keeps growing and it's the millionth time it's broken records or is the top three, now top two, now top one! I just wish that wasn't even mentioned because it doesn't make me feel like ah, yes, MC is getting nice things, it makes me think ah, yes, we're talking about this. Again. And the food. Again. I like fluff... I just wish there was a variety in the fluff. <<less

I started liking this story well enough however something put me off so much I've chosen to drop the story.

At some point the MC ends up with a panda 'cub'.

Spoiler

I say cub because in reality he's an adult that got turned into a cub and later regains his memories, it's a long story.

[collapse]

Now here's my problem:

MC figures out that this panda cub is a lost child and not an abandoned one. The reason he knows this is because the panda has a kind of collar that is supposed to show information about him (can't remember exactly but it shows that he has a family/parents). Unfortunately the information in the collar can't be read because it's high access only.

So MC figures that out and decided to look for his parents by going online to see if anyone is looking for a lost panda child (reasonable first step).

He puts in the word panda in the search filter and sees that any entries with the word panda can't be accessed by him because he doesn't have clearance for it (reason being pandas were protected due to reasons).

After that, MC does nothing to find the panda's parents. He doesn't contact anyone, doesn't go to the police, he doesn't look into it at all.

At one point he goes to a place with rich families only and says that while there he'll try and find the parents but he doesn't. They get there, he continues to cook, he doesn't try to like sneakily ask if anyone is looking for a cub, he doesn't try to get info about panda families. Nothing.

This is the part that really put me off though, one night during live streaming after eating he makes a wish that him and his family stay together/ will never be seperated, knowing full well that this panda already has a family.

That's what puts me off, his selfishness. He likes the panda and he really wants a family so he doesn't really care about the fact that his parents somewhere might be looking for him.

I don't know why the author would write the character this way, in fact I'm not sure she meant to but that's how it comes across.

For all intent and purposes this panda is a real kid to MC but instead of getting him home, he takes him on his live, he feeds him, brushes him and spoils him while making no effort to find his real parents who could be worried sick for all he knows. Like it's supposed to be seen as cute but nah, it really isn't.

Imagine finding a lost kid and instead of immediately trying everything you can to find his parents (who you know exists and hasn't abandoned him), you just delude yourself into thinking that this kid and you are family.

Had he been looking for the parents and then considered the panda family overtime, then sure, of course, he would have gotten attached, it's understandable, kids are cute. This however comes off as "Man so in want of family he doesn't make an effort to find their real parents."

Once again you need to remember that although the panda cub is

Spoiler

actually an adult.

[collapse]

MC doesn't know that. He thinks it's a kid. The whole thing just kinda put me off.

And I mean of course the panda will reunite with his family, the novel shows it'll happen but it'll be more out of luck and coincidence than MC actually trying to find them. I just think that finding the panda's parents should have been one of MC's priorities but instead it gets treated like a side thought. <<less

Okay so untill like 45 chapters I was completely satisfied with the novel, found it utterly cute and relaxing. Afterwards however, I became extremely bored and after the 80th chapter I barely even read the chapter, just skimmed through cause it was honestly boring.

Basically the MC does nothing but takes extremely meticulous care of the cubs and becomes famous for it and the snow leopard emperor falls in love with him.

I was here for the no brainer fluff and it doesn't matter to me that this novel doesn't have much... more>> plot to speak of. However this novel can honestly be summarised in 3 sentences:

  • MC does livestream
  • cooks food
  • and then miraculously shoots to insane levels of popularity.
And honestly, I did like that for some chapters but come on you gotta add something else to the plot too?

I would have liked it better if it was more down to earth with less op MC. I can't for the life of me fathom why people in the interstellar era who supposedly hate humans will automatically fall in love with this 'human anchor' especially when his content isn't even special. Like its praised to high heavens when the livestreaming content is just so mediocre.

Also I really can't fathom that the knowledge of barbeque will be lost? Really author?

The romance is also just barely there. It might as well be non-existent. So yeah don't read if you want more prominent focus on romance.

One thing this novel excels in is the childcare stuff and cooking portions. MC taking care of the cubs is honestly so sweet and so gentle. And the cooking descriptions really did increase my appetite so plus points for that. <<less
