It ended rather hastily.

Spoiler

There wasn't conclusion on how he should have starred as a lead in Grandpa Baek's movie. Intially I thought the munchkin plot of perfect csat and law school is built up for this, maybe the story is about law, so it was disappointing.

It seems the writer struggled with the writing towards the middle, which is marked by using abrupt time jump or abrupt future interview of Kwak numerous times. It had a really good potential but this didn't make it to my masterpiece list, because it could've been much more. Of course, it's not like every novel in my masterpiece list is a perfect book. But it was pretty repetitive with how every incident happening and somehow MC needs to be the substitute. About the woman attracting magnet plot, well it was bad although not as much as some wuxia harem, but still awkward nonetheless. Why does everyone falls in love with him lol? I also feel like it was strange the MC suddenly become the most handsome man in universe after backstory of him having gangster face but a little more handsome. All in all towards the middle a lot of inconsistencies starts popping out.

I feel like the best thing about this novel is the part of The Confession of Priest, I would watch it if there's movie like that. Along with the movie To Jihwan. The writer did a nice job during these parts. Usually, that's the charm of novel centered in showbiz. Unfortunately aside from these two, his works doesn't sound that interesting, with one is ordinary school drama and one is fantasy merman and girl something. It wasn't that unique. His other work don't even get elaborated with the time skip so I can't say anything about it.

This is the best actor novel I read so far. I like that MC is not forgetting about other thing than acting after coming back to live. I especially liked when he

. Also the description of a market was so cool! I don't know much about Korea's markets but it looks a bit similiar to the old markets I know and was to. They are so fun. Different atmosphere from shops and it is easy to get scammed hahaha. So the nicely written not only MC based story. Other people also have personality! Amazing. I have read so many stories where only MC have one. We get to see not only MC transformation but also other characters do change sometimes. Only minus is that I personally would like to get more high school showed. (I just like reading slice of life sometimes)

Recommendations:

I like Top management but it is written from manager perspective. I can also a bit recommand Popular psycho, it was good untill where I stopped reading.

Between a 3.5-4.0

It's a nice read for the regressed-celebrity-genre. No systems or cheats, just past life to make MC an acting "genius, " as he actually achieved success in his life. (He's still kinda OP tho cause why not I guess lol)

Despite success, MC let go of important things along the way. It is a story of no regrets and treasuring parents. That is where your enjoyment will come from. The plot outside is nothing very special and eventually the connection with mom only makes small appearances. Because his... more>> relationship with the mom is most present during the beginning of the novel, that was probably the most enjoyable part to me.

Spoiler

By the middle of the novel, there are typical actor antics you can expect. There was a plot that involved studying and going to college, but it really fell flat and took up so much reading for nothing. He majors in law to "broaden his perspective." Depending on reader's perspective, the insights from this plot could be reflective and philosophical or just sound like the rambling of someone trying to sound smart. Either way, it doesn't matter for the overall plot and is probably just meant to highlight how unnecessarily smart the MC is.

There is no romance until the very end and it eventually becomes the conclusion to the novel, which is why I personally checked out the last few chapters and was just skimming. It's not harem, you will know who the FL is, but like I said most of the novel is focused on the acting than romance.

Personal Opinion: Manhwa > Novel

I've looked at both and I think the Manhwa was better because the novel can be a little too detail-oriented for me in it's description. It gets tedious since the plot centered around his acting career is not any more exciting than other things I have read in the same vein. <<less

honestly, there is some sentimentality here

but just like most Korean acting rebirth novels it lacks challenges for the MC

the plot is Act, Impress people, Be rewarded with accolades, rise and repeat... and that gets boring after awhile

there are no plot twists and other than his relationship with his mother, everthing else feels flat so its easy to get bored

I'm only giving it a 4 because I haven't read that far. Other than that I like the sentimental scenes that happen with the MC and also with supporting characters.

The MC is such a good actor that he doesn't seem to need to work hard at it, but it's not overdone. He also just happens upon really good opportunities.

Also none of the characters feel flat and the ones that stick around are more developed and you learn bits and pieces about them.

A story of a regression where the main character has nearly perfect acting skills. Rather than focusing on progression as an actor it focuses on the main character being a better person than their last life. Unfortunately, it does this in a lackluster way.

The lack of difficulty or obstacles to overcome in acting is somewhat understandable but the same lack of difficulty in dedicating himself to being a better person leads to a somewhat bland feeling to the novel.

Ultimately, the novel becomes a slice of a life about the perfect... more>> person who is the best actor ever and also the best person ever. It lacks interest or intrigue.

Saving it from complete mediocrity is the quality of the writing and the consistent writing style which manage to make the story engaging despite the lack of any conflict.

I would recommend reading this if you are in the mood to read a very positive story and aren't looking for excitement.

tldr; As a light-hearted read about acting it's pretty decent. <<less
