I read it in ridibooks, there's no sign of harem until ch 32.

The male female ratio is quite balanced.

The original MC thought he's strong and was hiding his power. Well, technically he is strong only at night, because of the sword.

Looking forward to the translation.

I really enjoyed reading this story.

It follows the typical; I want to live a leisurely life without doing much but ends up doing everything MC. The story was set up in a fantasy magic academy setting. A fun read with an exciting pace, though there were some dull moments as well. The other characters were quite endearing, each with their own quirks. Most of them get solid introductions, whether it'd be the main companions to the side mobs, as the story goes it gets deep into their past and motives... more>> too. Everything plays a part, not everything is revealed immediately. MC just loves being a meat shield though it became infectious lol.

Apologies in advance but the following will be comparing this story to the tr*sh count story a lot. Can't help it though because well I think anyone who's dipped into TCF will understand the high you get from reading that haha. This story is so much like TCF but in an academy setting and more concise while still bringing that oomph, not to mention it's completed already unlike TCF which as of writing is still in the middle of part2 QwQ. There were many similarities between the two like; the self sacrificing MC, his animal companions, and even an op OGprotag turn close companion. But it's in a good way, not just ripping off blatantly. It managed to pluck its main attractive components and make them into its own. It wove a new narrative with the same essence that made TCF great.

Though short compared to TCF, it managed to build up quite the hype. In fact;

MC enters the world in legendary hard mode. If in the original game the world slowly sends mid boss, to big boss (es), to bbg over a period of time, MC arrives in the world and the plot gets fast forwarded. The mid bosses arrives rather early. It leads to some unrealistic recovery time, like I get they got priests and stuff but still, this guy be dying and he's jumping around again by day3 bruuuh. Then, instead of going through the big end bosses one by one, this world be like ya can surely take em right? After all, you have cheat in-depth knowledge of this world. Here have them all at once. Like bruuuh but it does balance it well. Then when I thought bbg battle time there's bigger bbg appearing. Ahaha MC was fckd.

MC's animal companions, Chocolate and Pudding, were so adorable. They were like a dash of healing for our stressed out MC. They're just such cutie pies I wanna pet them too. Chocolate works wonders < (ಥ ⋏ ಥ) >

The after story was beautiful and wholesome. My heart is warm. There was a nice message tagged in on it as well. <<less

Idk why but when I read the story, the world feels empty like there is no other people other than the MC and Leon. No mob/side characters talking, no detailed description of what these or that do.

And plus, MC know that the library will get attacked, but there is no sense of urgency from the MC. Even when all students got caught there is no side characters dialogue such as "help me!" "We will die!", "Who do you think I am?"

It just feel empty. Well maybe it just me <<less

I love this story!

The flow is not fast but it's not too slow either. The translator expertly show how the author describing the world make me fall in love with the setting just like how the MC is. I like the MC interaction with his peers just like how you will find in real life, they have such good banters you can't help but chuckle at their antics.

Just like any other transmigration novels, the MC also trying to get stronger, but it seem to be on slower side at this... more>> point in the story. Which is a good thing for me, reading more of the slice of life story.

I hope the translator pick this back up, I want to see more of the interaction between Theo (MC) and his peers especially Leon. <<less

Real score 7/10

A good novel that went downhill before the climax. It's like I'm reading Naruto or BnHA. Bad at war arc

The beginning of the novel was fun. Good writing, good character developments. Unique personalities that didn't clash with each other. Some of the battle scenes were amateurish at the beginning, but the author improved and it became awesome. Legit got HYPE at some of them, even. Good worldbuilding too

Spoiler

They slowly explained to the reader that this world is split into two. A human world and a demon world. Demon is a very ambitious race. So ambitious that their race was split into two also: Original Demon who only want to live in their own world and Devils who want to conquered everything for power. Original Demons lost the war and Devils are ready to invade the Human world now. Knowing that, God created a powerful artifact called First Rune so humans can fight back. But if not used properly, this artifact can destroy the world as well. So, after the war end, the first hero seal the First Rune into seven artifact and hide it around the world

The premise is very simple, really. It's a story about a guy who was isekai'ed into a failed game and transmigrated into a body of a noble named Theo. He knew this game is about Leon's achievement in saving the world. And, wanting to live peacefully after all the hardship he went trough in real world, he helped Leon become stronger early on so the guy can beat the enemies easily without the need of his gamer knowledge at all. But as always, changing a scripted story will cause a butterfly effect. And Theo, who was supposed to be an NPC, become the new main character instead lol.

Why? Well because the enemies knew Theo was the one who ruin their plan, not Leon. The moment he tried to solved the problem before it became a problem, his dream of living peacefully was already in ruin 🤣

Unfortunately like I said, this novel did an oopsie before the climax. The flow of the story went awry because of a two years time skip

Spoiler

Like, there was supposed to be this important character we can relate too. But because his relationship with Theo was skipped, I didn't feel anything when he died. Important character but felt like an NPC

[collapse]

And then the final boss.

Spoiler

His name is Mathias. He infiltrated the school and disguised himself as a Dimensional Magic teacher so he can teach Theo while spying on him at the same time. The thing is, in that year, there are too many problems Theo had to solved; from the awakening of evil monsters to war between factions. That means Theo was almost never at school to interract with Mathias. Especially after the Time Skip. And I felt like that was such a missed opportunity. I was hoping for more back and forth. More sly remarks and lies so both of them won't realized they are trying to gauge each other.

I really don't get why author decided to use a time skip here. Just treat it like... Naruto's training montage or something. No big battles that can destroy the world, but still important to show for character development. This time skip made Mathias' bleak past came out of NOWHERE. There is no buildup at all

[collapse]

What was supposed to be a cool ending was buried by a lot of exposition. It almost like the author want to finish this novel as soon as possible

Spoiler

In this novel, Mathias was not the only final boss. We have another one, named Anirza. But because the novel is already near the ending, rather than writing a different battle arc for them to shine (for example, chapter 1-5 is for Mathias' battle. And chapter 6-10 is for Anirza's battle), both of them came out AT THE SAME TIME. No breather at all. It felt bloated because we are now looking at two different POVes.

And speaking about no breather, they did a sacrifice play too quickly in the war arc. Character A nearly died, but character B saved them. Character B nearly died, but Character C saved them. I applaud author who's not afraid to kill their characters, but not this quickly either. Don't treat your characters' death as a shock factor, it's making their sacrifice play useless

[collapse]

Then don't get me started about how they treated previous enemies either

Spoiler

The first Prince and Leon's older brother, Kuhn were supposed to be these cunning guy who will do anything to inherit their respective throne. They nearly destroy Theo's credibility with bad rumor and kept undermining the Third Prince's authority. But they lost because they self-destruct??? Not because of Theo's counter attack or anything? You two are smart characters, how they hell did you stumble this bad?!

[collapse]

So, is this novel worth reading? Kinda. Even though the time skip ruined the pacing of the final battle, author's writing is still good to read, the battle scenes are great. Oh, also because MC was an orphan before, half of this novel is about him eating a bunch of delicious foods. Kinda sad but kinda funny too lol. It's like a mukbang review

This is a good novel that went downhill near the end. Sad. If only author didn't do that time skip and instead, expand the story a bit more, the flow of the story will be a whole lot better 🫠 <<less
