Funny at first but after a while it's rinse and repeat to me. Most of the jokes is about her and her food to the point my heart and mind just quit laughing.

It's inevitable that this story gets compared to the author's other story, "Side Character Transmigrations: The Final Boss is No Joke" but really, they are not *that* similar aside from being BG quick transmigration stories with an OP female main character.

If we really have to compare, then I do admit that the MC in this story is a little less likeable than Shi Sheng, particularly in the earlier arcs where her most notable characteristic - gluttony - is overemphasized. I do feel that MC's characterization improves slowly in the later... more>> arcs.

On the other hand, I do like the ML of this story over Feng Ci, even though he doesn't even show up until arc 3, doesn't choose to try and woo MC until arc 6 (for ulterior motives), and they don't truly enter into a genuine relationship until arc 9. Note: the "male leads" from the first two worlds are not the ML of the story, they are "native" NPCs of the world who originally had hidden feelings for the character that MC displaced, and those feelings came out due to the changes MC made by her presence.

Anyway, I like the ML of this story better because he has agency which Feng Ci never did

as a system-based quick transmigrator himself

. He has his own hidden goals, his own ambitions, his considerations, and we get to see some of the mental process of him actually choosing to invest emotionally into MC. It makes it fun to watch him and MC dance around each other, testing each other, and then finally choosing each other despite all the risks and unknowns they know that the other poses.

So, four stars for the overall stories. Then +1 star for the ML. <<less

Having read this author's other work, this story was... Kind of a let down. It's hilarious, but the main character, Ming Shu's, personality isn't likeable at all to me. While I don't expect any logic in a transmigration LN, I do expect some things to make sense. The "ML", if you can even call him that, is so pitiful and pathetic, he might as well not exist. Maybe I should give it another chance, but I doubt it would change how dull I find this story despite the recycled comedy... more>> of being a foodie. <<less

The jokes in this book aren't that great, and MC's attitude towards everything around her is just disappointing. The romance between MC and ML does not progress at all. After 2 arcs even with ML chasing MC, MC just ignores ML which is just rude tbh.

MC's character seems to not have a heart? In arc 2 she kinds of watch someone commit suicide while eating snacks... While she did talk to the character that was suicidal it seemed to me that MC just could not care less about the people in this world.

The stories of the arcs are different and pretty interesting, which is the only plus point of this novel...

tl;dr, MC is indifferent towards everything around her, focuses only on foods that she can eat. <<less

Although there were repetitive plots and jokes, I liked the story. I loved the fact that ML wasn't impractically "overbearing, cold and aloof". I am sick of MCs who can't hold a handle to ML's greatness. Its always ' the female protagonist is black-bellied and can literally topple up countries but the male protagonist can topple up the whole world '. This novel had quite a refreshing approach regarding this attitude and thus, it successfully managed to subdue its drawbacks, atleast from my point of view. I recommend this novel... more>> to all the readers out there who are craving for a female protagonist who actually remains independent and self-reliant. I guess, I'm a bit biased but then again, do I care ? No, that's the answer. <<less

3\5, +2 because of the good romance.
The first two arcs of the novel are kinda average\bad but once the ML gets introduced the novel quickly improves.

I generally hate MLs\romance in QT stories because the ML are just flower vases and once they are introduced the story quickly evolves into slice of life of the MC and her hubby, losing the initial appeal as seen in the other work of the same author (The Final Boss is no Joke) and in most other QTs.

That is absolutely not the case here,... more>> the ML is another world-hopper and both the ML and MC have purposes and sometimes conflict of interests so there's always something going on at any moment, even after they become a couple.

The interaction and the romance between the the two of them is what makes this novel special and unique, it's really slow but cute and fun, you see them probing each other, trying to understand each other and finally investing into their relationship despite the odds and unknowns.

Beside the romantic aspect and sometimes the comedy the novel lacks other high notes, the other characters are forgettable to say the least, the storylines are okayish but the faceslapping isn't really memorable and often evolves into an outright beating of the fake leads (funny at times and understable considering her goal tbh)

Overall an average read compared to better QT stories like Cannon Fodder's Record of Counterattack. <<less

I like this one as it's Mo Ling's novel. Start of this novel is kinda average because of some repetitive plots, jokes and MC's sometimes forced love for snacks. But yeah it gets better in the later arcs and you will like the ML.

MC is smart, shameless, foodie and ruthless while our ML is narcissistic. In start, ML forget MC after each arc. But later they tested each other in the arcs and despite the risks and being dubious they still chose each other.

Reading this novel in one go rather then weekly made me realise how well written the story is, familiar terms being brought up, ample foreshadowing, consistent character features and plot points... it was very interesting picking up on these things as we get more answers to the world, and the identities of our protagonists. I can see why people think that the MC is boring, but she seems to be quite the layered character as well the more you read on, it is a long novel though so that may... more>> take a little too long for some readers. <<less

The amount of times I've read "they're/are they going to steal my snacks" or "blah blah blah so that they can inherit my snacks" in this story has got me seriously irritated...

Much prefer the authors other novel. Her MCs there are wayýyyyy more interesting.

Don't know how the author hadn't gotten bored of her own character.

It's really hard to get through each arc when she does the same boring thing all the time, plus the story of the arcs are not really written well.

hi, MTL-er here!

I love Mo Ling's novels! I've read/am reading all her system transmigration stories (currently 3), and i've completed this one! Out of the three novels, this one is my favourite because I love ming shu's character and her love interest's as well! I ship them both 'cause they're so cute together! As usual with mo ling's novels, it takes a while for the main couple to get together, but it's worth it---! I also like that in this novel, there is more focus on the interactions between the... more>> leads and their relationship, rather than the plot of the story. I don't need plot, I just need my ship, wheeee! <<less

cliche, unfortunately ;<

(Protagonist : just another cardboard cut out protagonist, cliche personality (overused) (her love for food was kinda unique but eh, it was handled pretty poorly) just a copy paste from the author's other novel, if not, then it's really just a copy paste from any other MC with this genre

... more>> ML: eh........ meh (ML quality is literally just... meh *especially if you know Lan WangJi<who's a really amazing male lead>*

Villains/Antagonists/Side Characters : Brain -dead, dumb af (somehow the cliche applies that the protagonist is somehow made out to be a GENIUS meanwhile everyone's as dumb as rocks)

Face-slapping quality: eh (not satisfying, especially when Antagonists are as bland as paper, below satisfaction)

(somehow the female fake protagonist have it way worse than their "supposed" ML, would've been good if the fake protagonists' MLs also would get some "face-slapping" but nooooo they're freaking happy *really annoyed at the first world* it's annoying af)

thought this was nice, was met with disappointment

(after reading "Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder's Record of Counterattacks" my preference and quality in face slapping shot through the roof)

not my cup of tea, sorry, although good luck to others who want to read this... <<less

Really love the MC especially when she's arguing with others and the ML. I think the romance is a LOT better than side charater transmigration. In this novel he has a lot more personality than Feng Ci and more interesting

It's not bad but through the first 100 chapters and more to come, it makes you wonder where the story's going. ML doesn't remember our MC at all with each world he goes through and MC only cares about food... But the synopsis for each world is pretty interesting though.

Pretty decent story, I kinda felt like the writing was familiar before I realized I’d seen it in side character transmigrations.

If you look at the other reviews you’ll see something about a really annoying repeating ‘joke’. I was kinda thrown off too when the author suddenly just started putting the joke 4 times in a chapter, but good news is that it only lasts a few chapters in the second arc, just push through. If it really gets on your nerves, skip the arc and move to number three. Next... more>> time you see the joke, it’ll make sense and be somewhat funny. <<less

The FMC has a bit similarities with SCT: TFBINJ (same author) but the FMC here is a foodie with a bottomless pit stomach (3rd only to Luffy and Toriko). It took me a long time to decided to read this because I am not really fond reversal gender roles like this one, but I when I finally read this. The first thing I thought that this was not a bad story theand because you'll slowly like this especially the ML reaction and interaction with FMC for the following the... more>> routine. I haven't finished this yet because I currently focus on reading other novel.

The ML is a quester and his memories with the FMC will always sealed in every world mission
