A nice and decent read. This is one of those novels that you think can be a lot longer but the Author got bored writing. While that's the case it's not a bad ending it's just that we still has many sub plots left unanswered.

Im a proud wish baragi!!!

Yeah, he's overpowered but I love how the story goes. It's well written and the premise is very mature. And yes the ending kinda feel rush but atleast authornim gave us a closure. All knots have been untied. I love everything about it, his family, his friend, his coworkers and his fans even more.

I have a complicated feeling about this one. I like how it start really desciptive. But, it doesnt get long until it get bored. Maybe around chapter 35, I dont really remember.

the majority of his act only contain some scene. Not the entire plot. Not even half as it keep going.

That one really disappoint me. At firts I thought I like

at least you get proper ending in each scene.

But it became good again when I dont realise it. I guess it's MC charm at handling his problem/scandal.

I think I just get used to not have what I want in this, so I think the ending was rather good (8, 5/10)

It will became really bad if the pace of the novel suddenly getting slower

but thankfully it back to it's usual pace.

As always generic problem from fantasy novel's author. Author really dont know how society works, relationship works, build a relationship, talking like an real people, act like a real people. It just like average fantasy novel (system, leveling, superability) but once again the problem is generic author illness.

Just take example top management, if author really know how the society works this novel will be good like that. So bad, get well soon.

Unlike most novels I read about person becoming superstar, struggling against the industry, here we get an MC who is simply destined for greatness and it is a stress free ride as we follow his journey in the story.

It is somewhat of a wish fulfilment but I felt it was refreshing read after reading novels in which MCs struggles for hundred of chapters just to get into a single movie and then end up with a 1 minute of screen time in when it is released.

MC having average looks but... more>> compensating for it with their skills and personality. Working twice as much for half the result. I was really tired of such stories so reading this one where MC is literal god personified was truly refreshing.

I do have some complains. Such as author writing the novel as if it could go for 700 chapters but the story suddenly rushing towards the end. (and all the problems that aries because of that) but the ending still did the bare minimum. So most of the complains I could make are simply... I wanted more! <<less

AAWWW THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD NOVEL. I'M GLAD I READ IT.🤧

Unlike what the summary told you, this is not a atory about Woo Jin becoming a great actor by using his cheat skill. But it's about his character development, in which it took 999 lives for him to love and be loved

(In a family sense kind of love, not in a romantic partner sense kind of love)

In his very first live, Woo Jin was an angel who was tasked by God to spread art to the Human... more>> below. But the angel didn't want to. He thought humans are just barbaric creatures who only know how to war. So God punished him and turned him into a human.

It took 999 lives, but that's okay. His Son now love himan and humanity as a whole 😊

The writing is very good. Every characters are 3 dimensional. They have deep background story so we can choose to love or hate them; in regards of whether they are support character or antagonist.

Spoiler

It's a shame that he didn't take care of his biological father like what he did to Blue Fit and the third wife. But in Woo Jin POV, I think it's pretty reasonable. After all, he promised to himself that he never want to see his father again. As long as he won't try anything to him or his family, then eeehhh you do you.

[collapse]

The description of the films/movie and commercials Woo Jin are in are very detailed. Tho there is one movie and one commercials that, well, a bit spicy. I feel like I'm reading p*rn when I read that arc, tbh. But other than that, it's good. 😅 MC is very likable too. Polite, not arrogant, even when he has that cheat skill. Sometimes, he can be very childish too

Spoiler

But I feel like he's kinda dumb in that stalker arc. Why won't he contact the police at the first chance he got after he has enough evidence of her stalkerish tendencies? Have an arrest warrant or something. Rather than waiting and waiting till eventually, everything explode 😑

[collapse]

I feel like I'm reading Superstars of Tomorrow and The Great Storyteller whenever there are some chapters that's solely about netizen's reaction towards Woo Jin's acting skill and his superb handsomeness #LOL but this novel did a good job in regards to story rather than the previous two novels that I just said

Spoiler

Unlike Superstar of Tomorrow, Become a Star ending still focused on Woo Jin, the main character. And Unlike The Great Storyteller, Become a Star did the time skip a lot better too. I still think they should just explain everything in that 10 years time skip instead of separating them into two; 3 years time skip and then 10 years time skip. Author should just pick one, really. But it's fine. Woo Jin's reason of why he can speak multiple language is logical too, unlike The Great Storyteller. Because Woo Jin had lived for 999 lives. As a prince or a mafia boss living in a foreign land. So, yeah. Cheat skill ftw 😂

[collapse]

Spoiler

But in regards to that novel arc in which Woo Jin now become a novelist as well. Uuhh, I don't really like it. I feel like it started as author, trying to release their pent up anger towards the hate. But because they used Woo Jin to do that, well, they have to turn Woo Jin into a novelist too at some point then. Even if it'll be a bit forced and not as detailed as they usually did when they described the film/commercial Woo Jin took 🙄

[collapse]

But all in all, it ended very calmly. I'm glad I read this novel 😁 <<less

I really enjoyed reading this novel and I think that it's on of the best slice of life novels that I have read.

Although many people are saying that the Ending is rushed... I don't really think so, because if the author wrote more details and also the end of every single Charakter in this novel, the novel would be much longer (which ist also okay) but maybe also boring because of the Things that would get repeated...

Spoiler

For Example the reaction of his last two films, which for sure, wouldn't be that different from the reaction of his last films/ dramas etc. and because of that the novel can get boring

[collapse]

I'm sure that this novel ist not perfect but I still give it 5 stars because it is really fun and enjoyable to read and the ending is good so I hope that people don't get "scared" by the reviews about the "bad" / " rushed" ending and drope the novel : ( <<less

It is good but I understand the frustration. Despite the MC suffered in the past and had his own struggle, it is lacking compared to what he got. In a sense, he can be called as a gary stu due to how close to perfect he is. Handsome, cool, talented, rich grandfather, supporting family and friends, and so on.

With the lack of conflict and such, this novel can be called as a chill one and there is no need to use your brain or being serious when reading this.

I've read all of the chapters currently available. I honestly love all of the characters. Woojin does not become arrogant when he learned that he lived 999 lives where in some of them he was successful. He doesn't let his past life control him which is honestly surprising.
This novel is refreshing and quite unique because of that fact that Woojin is still Woojin and not "him" from his past life. In the novel he is described to be perfect and his fans also seem to very capable. Woojin stays consistent in the sense where there isn't any development in his personality at all, but the fact that he lived 999 lives it seems reasonable. Though it's not entirely realistic it's a good read. The plot is interesting and the writing is good. I look forward to continue reading the novel.

Edit - I finished the novel. The ending was kinda rushed but overall I liked it. I liked last paragraph of the chapter, it gave off a nice vibe

Decent novel. I really enjoy the author taking the time to describe the movie they are acting in. Felt like the author got tired of continuing the novel and decided to wrap everything up in the last few chapters.

Usually I don't mind an OP MC, but there's something about Woo-jin's character that disconnected me.

Overall I had fun reading about his escapades but the ending was truly so rushed that I just wanted to skim it. So much potential and interesting scenarios squandered. It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

You have a super-multi-talented MC with a great family background, i.e. This guy got everything. Then he remembers 999 of his past lives [most of which end up not mattering at all] so literally over night, his singing, dancing, fighting skills skyrocket, he learns dozen languages, "cultivates" et cetera. So this guy got everything and then some. The main character being too OP is the main issue for this story, there is no struggle and no progress. Thankfully the novel is relatively short. The story simply could not go on... more>> as MC is too perfect from the get-go. <<less

Good slice of life novel about a celebrity who try to make it big for the love of the art.

Not excellent because the MC doesn't really want to use is past lives knowledge which is what make him really interesting. The MC is a good naive boy but still got a head on his shoulder when it count which make some interesting situation but also make you pissed off about the passive innocent attitude of the MC.

Ending is rushed but the author didn't know where to go

Writing/Translation

The translation I read is from Wuxiaworld. There were hardly any grammar or spelling errors so I would consider the translation to be pretty good. The only con is that, maybe due to it being a translation, the sentences can get a little bit awkward and there were some parts where I did not understand why something happened or why the character reacted that way. The translation felt a little describy, a bit stiff. But overall, it's better than most other translations.

... more>> Pacing

There were some parts that were a little slow and boring to read, basically some of the setup for the new arcs. Also a bit when the MC started, Idk, philosophising? About his feelings. It felt a bit off to me, not sure why. The prologue and the endish of the story were weak.

Plot

The beginning and the setup of the 999 lives chapter were truly bad. I almost dropped the story but I hung on because of some other reviewer's comments. It felt a little rambling, one movie after another and then, kinda stopped. I honestly didn't quite get the direction the story was going, is it a face-slapping thing? Slice-of-life? An underdog becoming a god? It felt like it could have been tighter. I also felt like the ending was a little rushed and had lots of dangling threads like the biological father and grandparents. From the buildup of them it felt weird that there was no resolution or interaction between the MC and them. I was truly just waiting in glee to see how they were going to be handled but nothing came of it. I also thought there would be more involvement from the Wish Baragi in the second half of the story after they took up so much space in the first half. I wanted it to continue.

Themes/What Story Tried to Achieve

I think my slight confusion/dissatisfaction about the plot above is because I wasn't sure what the main themes of the story were. Is this a face-slapping where the MC will ruthlessly beat down everyone in a satisfying way? A redemption arc based on the prologue? Family themed? Slice-of-life? To resolve things with his past life's descendants? To accept his past life as himself? It felt like a mixture of many things and in the end, didn't quite hit any of them as satisfactorily as it could. This is also mostly affected by the rushed ending. Maybe if we were shown more until the big finale ending or something, this area might have been higher.

Characters

The characters definitely feel more real, aren't cardboard cutouts, more three-dimensional than other Chinese celebrity-themed light novels for example. I like the relationships the MC has with his family and new friends. The MC himself is okay for me although I wish we could have delved into his head more. We really only get like one line about his thoughts until we get to the action/meat of the current arc where the story will then detail what is going on in a "this is what is happening" manner. So I don't feel as close to him as I would like to be.

Overall Comments

It was a nice time waster, I enjoyed most of it and do not regret reading it. Only wish the ending felt more satisfying.

Overall, an enjoyable read. Good slice-of-life/actor content with some pretty good face- slapping.

Things that weren't so good in my opinion:

Spoiler

1. The overarching plot was strange and a net negative on the story for me. Especially the part about the reincarnation of Woojin's love interests. However, it is a relatively minor piece of the story, since most of the plot is directed elsewhere

2. The ending was rather abrupt. Lots of storylines were left untouched.

[collapse]

While this story isn't something I would read a second time, it is a good one-time read.
