Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.According to popular legend, the war god of Da Liang Huo Wujiu was once captured by the enemy country. His meridians were severed and both his legs broken before he was thrown into prison. In order to humiliate him, that dissolute ruler even gifted him to his cutsleeve brother as a concubine.
General Huo suffered a great deal of humiliation and insult. He bided his time for three years before the cicada shed his skin and he escaped back to Da Jing. After treating his crippled legs, he led his army in three months to storm the enemy’s capital, slaughter its emperor, raze its capital, and finally beheaded that garbage cutsleeve, hanging his head on the city walls for three whole years.
Since then, the world has been united.
——
Jiang Suizhou, a history department graduate advisor at a certain university, received a dissertation which used these unofficial histories of Huo Wujiu as their basis, and criticized the student to no end.
When he opened his eyes again, he had transmigrated into that cutsleeve prince from the stories.
There were lanterns and colorful decorations everywhere. A servant came, sending word that the disabled general of the enemy state had already entered the prince’s manor in his wedding sedan.
Facing down General Huo, who had been tortured to the verge of death, dressed in red wedding clothes, glaring balefully, Jiang Suizhou only then knew – these wild stories could also come true.
And cause him to be beheaded for public display, his head hung on the city walls for three years.
Jiang Suizhou’s only option was to provide for General Huo well.
The overt and covert attacks of the imperial court, the witless ruler’s every possible humiliations — he grit his teeth and absorbed it all, all in the hopes that in three years time, he could but keep this head of his.
Of course, he didn’t dare to even dream of asking this 9 ci* tall “concubine” to actually serve him.
However, before the three years was up, General Huo’s legs actually healed on their own.
Not only did he slaughter the useless ruler and unified the country, but he also forcefully blocked him in the room and insisted on fulfilling his duty as “concubine.”

OG Jingwen sounds like an interesting man. He was weak but at the same time, not quite. I am probably romanticizing him too much but I wonder what's his goal and aspirations. King Jingwen had power in the court, many ministers put their trust on him. He's charismatic as well as intelligent in putting his brain in scheming and pretending but at the same time, was he too blinded by humiliation that he dared anger the general? Of course, at that time, he had no idea that the general would have a come back but what made that guy hate him so much? Did he torment him or was it due to the general's belief that Jingwen was the one ordering his servants all around? (I mean yeah he just let them do what they want but did Jingwen expressedly implied it? Even his sexuality can be called into question, so what did he do?
I can't believe Pang Shao's more shrewd than all other ministers combined. There's too many of them and they're all in his pockets? Yeah Pang Shao's got the Emperor to back him up but really? No one went with the general's father to rebel?
I don't dare ship these people because one was blackmailed and the other was just clinging on a thread but like, bruh. The other was has a career goal, ya know? I'm a bit curious about how he will fare after the Jing Dynasty.
Wondering when they started to realize their own feeling for each other
Looking forward the read the next chapter. Thank you for the translation
begins with a misunderstanding with elements of comedy. Overall the story is interesting and funny, a love that grows slowly and binds you. After reading all the extras makes us feel satisfied, the writer doesn't forget all the supporting characters. Like the fanwai (extra) story about Luo Wanjun and Nie Cong's marriage... then the story of Jiang Suizhou's 2 secret staff, Xu Du and the beautiful and flirtatious Gu Changyun. I thought the two of them would become a couple, who knows that Gu Changyun would marry and open a business, and Xu Du would become an official and it turns out that they only have a friendly relationship. Jiang Shun Heng's story made me very sad, I know how it feels to be ignored, taken advantage of and belittled, especially by his only confidant, his own uncle. Give it a try,
Definitely recommend it to pass a relaxing drama free reading.
