Song Yi is a sweet and gentle scum who grew up wandering up to the sky.

Gu Xingchuan is a suave male god whose beauty crushes everything.

For the same white moonlight affection, the two have fought for many years.

Until Song Yi changed from a man with eight pack abs to an omega exuding the scent of sweet milk.

In front of everyone, Gu Xingchuan pinned Song Yi against the wall and smiled disdainfully, he then lowered his head and sniffed the warm, soft smell.

“Your pheromones smell exactly the same as White Moonlight’s, I’m sure you’re seducing me.”

Song Yi: “…”

Gu Xingchuan: “If you are not seducing me, why can’t I help but want to kiss you?”

The only thing I can say bad is that the ML is super childish and overly possessive

However this is an important part to the story

While he can be annoying but he fits the MC perfectly

... more>> He's childish short tempered while the MC is mature and steady...

What the MC doesn't dare to do he would push him... for example their relationship... the MC probably liked him way before but dare not act because he wanted someone gentle etc... while the ML is definitely not... hence ML imposing himself on the MC lead the MC to understand... that steady might bring him balance but the ML brings him Happiness

Whereas the MC maturity covers the ML short tempered... calms him down preventing him to be absurd though sometimes hes too late but he can still stop the situation from worsening <<less

Hovering between 3.5 and 4 stars - started with the translation (which is good) and finished via MTL.

I really disagree with the 'rape' tag, but since there's no tag for dubcon and the ML does act super possessive and sexually harasses and kisses the MC multiple times without permission, it's okay to leave it up.

This novel is not for people who want super wholesome relationships - the ML acts childish and extremely possessive, the only thing that makes his actions kind of (but not really) okay is the fact... more>> that the MC seems to unconsciously like it. He tolerates the ML's flirting and groping even before they get together, and afterwards he seems to like this aspect of the ML. I think it makes sense for the MC - he's been forced to be calm, mature and reliable since he was a child due to his irresponsible mother and having a poor family with a younger sibling. He's had to work hard for everything and was always the one that his family, friends and former lovers depended on. So as I see it (and MC acknowledges this himself later on), the ML was a breath of fresh air. Once they got over their petty high school rivalry (which on the ML's side was 100% fueled by his unacknowledged attraction to the MC) and the ML started to pursue the MC, the MC slowly realized that the ML was the only one who really saw the whole him, paid attention to him and took care of him. Even when the ML was infuriating because of his harassment and childish behavior, he was very perceptive and protected the MC. The ML noticed everything about the MC and remembered even small details from when they were in high school (6 years ago), when even his family didn't pay attention to this.

I agree with @Danmei_Empress that the 'rape' isn't r*pe at all, but more like being drunk. And it's telling that the MC is in denial about what happened with the ML, but he didn't actually reject the ML when they did it, but more had a small existentialist crisis because he had always considered himself an alpha, and now it turned out he was an omega and a shou in bed. It's mentioned that he's dated before, and insinuated that he's slept with his former boyfriends, so having to switch gender and bed position is weird for him. Also sleeping with his former love rival whom he thought hated him.

All the kissing is noncon at first, but it's incredible how much the MC puts up with - but only when it's the ML, not other men. It's a tired trope that s*xual harassment is okay when it's the love interest doing it, but I think it worked okay here - it's a dogblood kind of story, the first chapter is about the MC being overwhelmed by alpha pheromones and getting into heat and 'accidentally' sleeping with someone (like being drunk, you're driven by instinct but there's probably some attraction or lust deep down that drives you), so this sets the tone of the whole novel.

There are many small plotholes and weird parts - like ABO not being mentioned much except when it's suddenly important for the plot, and the MC changing suddenly from alpha to omega without an explanation why he thought he was an alpha for the first 26 years of his life, so world building isn't that good.

Also as other reviewers have mentioned what happened to the white moonlight:

Spoiler

Shen Li being kicked out from his family home because his mom exchanged him as a child is insane - I think if the author had shown that Shen Li knew and abused his power and that the grandad had tolerated him for ages but was upset about SL always abusing his position and family name and being a shitty person, and then finding out he had lied to all of them for years (which I guess he had since he found out in high school), then it would have been okay. But just blaming SL for his mom's actions and cutting ties completely seems very cruel and unfair. As if only blood bond and not nurture matters.

I only tolerated this part because SL was obviously a terrible person and it's not a novel where you need to think too hard about the plot.

About the mom:

Spoiler

I guess she was just awful, but it was weird that she cared so little for not just her adopted son but also her daughter

It's a shame there's no smut, since it's the kind of novel that mostly puts emphasis on the relationship between the CP, which had some nice tension and chemistry. Also more insights into their s*x life instead of just complete fade to black (blame the publisher I guess, JJWXC is pretty strict with this type of stuff) would have made it easier to understand the MC's feelings towards the ML - that he was subconsciously attracted to the ML and enjoyed when they slept together, which is why he allowed the relationship to progress the whole time and didn't hate the ML (he's surprisingly calm after the first time they sleep together, despite claiming to himself that he didn't want it). <<less

This was enjoyable to me, the family dogblood drama was a bit overdone though. But I liked the relationship between the leads since they were honesty attracted to each other and talked. Though they refused to talk about some serious issues.

This is another one of those novels that portray non-blood related children as inevitably evil and emotionally disposable. I didn't like Shen Li, so it's not like I felt bad for him or anything. But it was a little strange. I guess the grandfather felt really betrayed. I felt bad for Song Yi because the honest love of his grandfather was stolen from him, but at least he had his sister.

Shen Li spent so many years (26) in the Shen family and did nothing with it.

The MC bothered me more that the ML because he often just refused to explain simple things that weren't even a privacy issue, especially when he knew it would lead to misunderstanding.

But teenage sweethearts finally getting together are my jam, so this worked for me. <<less

My expectations were already low because the premise itself means there'll be a lot of plot holes. However, the greatest disappointment is still ML.

From beginning to end, he is an as*hole but the author is hell-bent on making his toxic and violent behavior turn into something heartwarming or whatever. You can't deny his love for MC but respect? Nah you won't find that here.

I held on until the end because I thought there'd be character development for him but nope. MC is the only character here that can be considered... more>> as have developed. But even he comes off as flat sometimes.

Anyways I'm giving 4 stars ss charity. It's a 3.5 at most. <<less
