Shi Yunnan was sent out of the country by his parents since he was young, and lived like an unloved child, but he still played around wantonly and relied on his appearance to make trouble~

As a result, he was deceived by his elders into returning home and was informed that he was about to marry the young master of the Luo family.

“What kind of feudalistic ideology is this? It’s outrageous!”

Shi Yunnan packed his luggage that night, planning to escape the next day, but when he fell asleep, he dreamed of a terrible scenario——

He dreamed that his life was just a supporting character in a book. Because he didn’t get along with the protagonist who transmigrated into the book, he eventually ended up in a situation of being forsaken by everyone.

All tragedies began with this willful escape from marriage.

After waking up, Shi Yunnan hadn’t had the time to let everything sink in when he was blocked at the door of his own house——

“Second young master Shi thinks that our Luo family is not worthy of you?”

The man in front of him had a heavenly face, his temperament was abstinent and outstanding. His whole body was wrapped in luxurious outfits. Even those long legs, which relied on wheelchairs, wildly shook second young master Shi’s aesthetic point.

Sigh, I’m a good boy who listens to his parents and matchmakers!

Shi Yunnan pretended to be reserved for three seconds, then nodded like a chicken pecking on rice, “Worthy, of course, you’re worthy! Is the wedding banquet ready? Husband~”

The man stared at his smiling face and answered subtly, “Let’s do it this evening.”

I wonder if the people who gave a low rating just read a MTL and didn't wait for a good translation, 'cause I'm really loving it. It's the best kind of found family, with a cute child. The MC is a refreshing kind of mischievous but capable guy, with a sad past but a cool line of work that gets developed through the story.

Spoiler

MC is not a spoiled young master but a very talented jewelry designer, and his work impacts his relationshps with other characters.

[collapse]

Spoiler

His golden finger is a dream about the main antagonist life, who has a big secret too as a transmigrator who's living his 2nd life.

[collapse]

The dissabled ML is not the cold president type he appears to be, and you learn what's going on with him pretty early, they also make a cool power couple, they're sexy together! I can't wait to read the 2nd half! <<less

Hm...

This is just not my cup of tea now.

I read it until ch.9, yesss only 9 chapters, but couldn't continue it. Even when the novel only has less then 100 chapters (main story), I couldn't read it anymore. I couldn't even find myself to read the mtl too (dont get me wrong, I will MTL novels when they pique my curiosity!)

... more>> It's just, um, no.

Maybe I am just too tired with this kind of novels and with this kind of plot.

I just give up after reading ch.9 and ended up with searching for spoiler and reading reviews here. After reading the reviews. I give up. <<less

MC: Shi Yun Nan

ML: Luo Ling Sheng

It is a YAOI ROMANCE with a little REVENGE.

... more>> MC and ML are really so good.

MC is the unfavoured Young Master of Shi family and has been tossed abroad by his paternal family since his mother's death at the age of 7-8 and is very lonely and has low self-esteem but still grows up as good and kind but vengeful person. He is wild as he does and says things out of norm.

ML is the Patriarch of Luo family who lost his family in a accident and only has a nephew left. MC & ML have a contract marriage in the beginning.
Spoiler

He has been secretly in love with MC for around 8 years and never approached him because previously he thought that MC already had a boyfriend and later because he became handicapped. His love for MC was the kind that was hidden and never violated any boundaries like privacy, etc.,

[collapse]

A Special Mention to our Xiao Jin Yu, The Best and Smartest Wingman. MC dreams about the original story with his Stepbrother (SB) Xie Keyun as protagonist.

Spoiler

SB has transmigrated into a book he read and he was a side character in it but with his knowledge of the book world he makes a lot of money and a name for himself.

Later in the novel, MC theorizes that SB doing so would have broken the balance of nature or something so the world chose him, a native of the world, a chance to pull back the world to original trajectory through that dream about SB as Protagonist.

[collapse]

This story is about MC and how he face slaps people who look down on him, his career, his revenge, his feelings for ML and them getting together, his relationship with his friends and family and his insecurities too. <<less

It started out great, I really love shameless MCs. When they are strong and smart enough to defend themselves but act pitiful when the ML appears, and in this case our ML just found his acting cute so he played along.....

Things I liked about this novel:

- proper development of the ML's disability treatment.... His legs needed a lot of care and we could see his frustration and anxiety with how slow it was. That made the character appear more human, and we can see a different side to the typical... more>> OP and cool ML.

- the way they dealt with the antagonists, they took proper and legal steps whenever they could, and it seemed more mature and realistic.

- little goldfish!!!! Totally stole the show each time he made an appearance... Him working as his uncle wingman was way too adorable....

Spoiler

- the fact that the main leads called for professional help for little goldfish after his kidnapping was refreshing to see.

[collapse]

Now for reasons I had to give less stars.

- halfway through the pacing of the story wasn't smoth, at times it was really slow and boring and then it would pick up only to slow down again. I even considered dropping the novel

- whether it be for the antagonists or other side characters, their story seemed to be important only when the main leads where on scene... Many of the follow ups where shallow and perfunctory.

One thing that did distracted me, was the fact that the author sometimes didn't take into account that many of the places they went to most likely didn't have access for wheelchair, and I was like " he never has a problem or get's stuck anywhere.... There was even once when they go to an auction and they choose seats, and I just kept thinking" how did the ML manoeuvred his way in there... The spaces between the seats probably weren't that wide.... "

But well, overall it was an ok read... With interesting and refreshing things...

As for the extras, I didn't care for them, skipped most and didn't read the "what if".... I was actually waiting for a follow up on the side characters stories.... Shame... <<less

I gave it 5 stars, but I debated for a long time. It has some flaws. At first, I couldn't pinpoint what was exactly wrong, but at some point, I got a little bit bored. But not to such an extent as to abandon reading it. The flow of the story wasn't perfect. As other readers mentioned, all that face-slapping at some point seems repetitive. There was no suspense; I was sure that MC would solve it, and I wasn't worried at all. But at the same time, it shows... more>> important problems: blindly pampering children and raising them as useless persons, parents favouring sons rather than daughters, and human greed. Most villains end up in bad situations because of greed. They weren't lacking anything, but they wanted even more.

It might not be the best novel, but it certainly has good sides. I loved both MC and ML. MC was abandoned. His family truly let him down. Every time he goes in public, people "kindly" remind him that he is a failure (which of course isn't true), yet he always acts wildly, smiles back, and counteracts. He is an independent person who won't get bullied and will fight back. It seemed that he was confident and strong. Until one misunderstanding happened, only after that event did he show his true feelings. Usually I hate misunderstandings, but in this case it helped to show the MC character better, so I liked it. And more importantly, it wasn't dragged out. MC is a well-rounded character.

To be honest, I had some doubts about ML. At first, I thought that he fell in love with MC too abruptly. He met MC only once; the encounter was pretty short, but he suddenly fell in love. It didn't look believable. But after reading the extra chapter, all doubts vanished. His feelings and reasons behind his actions were described in more detail, so his character became more real. He didn't seem so dull anymore. Without those explanations, he looked like a stalker. I guess it would be better if ML POV was written in the main text—not only that, but also many other details that were missing in the main story. Because all those explanations were missing, the novel seemed a bit shalow. It's good that it was compensated, at least in extras. I wish I had known about them from the beginning for a better experience, but adding extra chapters wasn't a bad idea either.

I enjoyed the extras. Not only because it was sweet, but because of the comparison with the main story and knowing in detail what ML lost and how his life could have developed if not for that incident. The story itself became more interesting and a bit sad. The two-protagonist life was really hard.

I chose to close my eyes on some matters and still gave it 5 stars. I'm really soft-hearted and can't deduct stars, but it really isn't bad reading. It might not have any surprises and be ordinary, but there is a cute and clever child, relationship is healthy, the MC is really interesting, and the characters are well-rounded. It is light reading, and the extras complement the story nicely. It's worth reading. <<less

The main couple is good, won't lie. I love how flirty the MC can be. I did have some problems with this though, mainly that the power couple was too overpowered in my opinion. Every 'villain' they faced is just too dumb, too incompetent. That just made it so that no victory they had ever really felt serious or consequential, basically all around meaningless every single time. And since those moments are the main plot threads most of the time you can imagine... this was rough sometimes to get through.... more>> But again shoutout to the couple, they're cuties. They got me through. <<less

I usually go for light, funny and fluffy story. This one, hmmm, if I'm gonna rate it from 1 to 10, 1 for light drama and 10 for heavy drama then it's a 5. 🤔 It's not light and it's also not too heavy. There are trauma and emotional scars but it did not make me cry or feel down.

Face slap, for me, is satisfying. No direct killings and it's like the author wants to convey that every action has retribution.

What I also like about this novel is that the MC... more>> did not forgive his family that abandon him when he is still a child. He really did not accept them even at the end.

It's kinda frustrating tho that they wasted so many years if they could be together much earlier. I blame the ML for not confessing but I also like it that it feels like they are fated and destined for each other.

Baby goldfish is cute and clever.. Imma miss you baby, you're so precious.. 😘 I haven't read the extra chapters so I don't know if there's for baby Goldfish which I hope it has but I seem to read in review that it doesn't have one.. I don't know.. I'm sleepy writing this review that I can just close my eyes to sleep so I might be wrong. Anyway that's it. <<less

I'm stuck at ch. 30something and I have been for the past few months,
(but I'm still planning to continue! I like the romance, I just wanted to voice a few complaints about the other stuff.)

This is not a bad (love) story - however, I'm finding that I have a hard time caring about the stakes. MC is trying to prevent his scheming half-brother from ruining his life among the Chinese rich. That means he himself has to start "playing the game" and get ahead in the insular, crazy-rich Chinese society. And I would be fine with that - if the narration didn't go into so much detail about who of the crazy rich Asians (there is no other kind in this world) did what and why. I don't care. I'm here for the fuzzy warm love feels, I don't have any vendetta against those imaginary rich characters, and it's not like the MC is substantially different from them as far as I'm concerned - granted, they are scheming vipers who'd sell out their own family and he's a "good" person, sure, but it's not like he's trying to use his position / wealth to create a more equal society. My point is, the story is giving me too much time to think about that.

The translation is a bit too literal for my taste (especially the adjectives come out weird).

edit: for now dnf at ch43, they got together and I have other stuff to read

For a danmei webnovel, I give it 4.5 stars. The story is quite interesting, with some unique things. One of its uniqueness is that ML has a physical disability and is healed after half of the novel (almost near the end). In other novels, they usually heal immediately in the first few chapters, or when they meet the MC. Even though in this novel the recovery rate after surgery is very fast but it is still tolerable. The second thing that is quite unique is that the MC is not... more>> a person who transmigrates, instead becomes a person who stands in the way of the transmigrator who is evil towards him. And also the job of an MC who is quite unique, namely a jewelry designer who is quite foreign to other danmei novels. Of course this novel has quite a lot of flaws, but this can be a good spare time filler. Btw, its side stories are pretty good. <<less

Not quite what I was expecting.

I liked the personalities of the leads (I love bold and communicative MCs) and most of everyone around them. I also liked that the OrigML and OrigMC technically have their own lives away from our leads and really only intersect when they clash--even though there was a lot of clashing. It was a nice way to show that, in this version of the story, things don't revolve around them. And the MC only really pay attention to them when his spidey-senses tingle.

But the face-slapping was... more>> too much. Not to say that some of them didn't deserve it--I just wish it was done more elegantly. Some of the face slapping didn't need to be so public--it just didn't make sense to do it for every single person. And sometimes I felt like it didn't really fit the crime. There were cases where the high road should have been taken.

And since the face slapping was half of the novel, it really put a damper on my reading enjoyment.

But the kid, Little Goldfish won my heart, so I gave an extra star just for him. While he's clever, he still acts more of a kid compared to other novels. I thought he was written pretty well. <<less

Thank you for the hard work translating~

I would say this is a 6.5/10 for me.

in the beginning I was very enthused because I love the MC personality his foxiness and more daring nature. But then I hate when the Arthur pulls back and then makes him timid in some parts like I know a person can be that way, but I was fully expecting a spicy character. Not a tsundre when it comes down to it. But it wasn't that bad. I see. His characters is definitely more interesting than... more>> most I've read, though and the main reason why I continued to read through this novel was the personality of MC.

but The downside is. There was TOO MUCH FACE SLAPING I forgot what genre is called, where they just mostly face slap all the time. I don't really enjoy those. I find it kind of stressful. You walk into a store and immediately someone tries to belittle you or know you or picks a fight, which seems totally fake and devoid from reality Like, why can't just go to the store and peace without something happening? LOL.

I also love the child in this little fish if cute, but I felt like children aren't always cute and obedient. And I wish the side characters got more in depth I wanted to see their future partners. Also, this was way too prolonged Some misunderstandings and plot lines. 94 chapters and 17 extras. I feel like this could have been 70 chapters including the extras.

But overall, I recommend, but I don't know if I would reread.. <<less

Marking this novel.
Spoiler

From the start, the MC was only capable of petty and brainless retaliations. He needs to be saved by the ML whenever something crucial really happened. Also, the way he kept on hinting to the ML that he was so eager to hook up with the other party was quite a turn off. The desperation in his every action and words were quite palpable. If he was a female, he will basically show up naked to seduce the ML. The most irritating part was that both the MC and ML's incompetence caused little gold fish to be abducted. Because all they ever wanted was to be with each other and cannot be bothered to spare a moment to plan out their next steps (they were so busy making out with each other), they cannot use even half of their brain cells to somehow bring the villain into custody. Specially the MC. He was well aware how dangerous the villain was but purposely refused to find a way to at least minimize the damage but allowed the other party to do whatever he wanted because he's main priority was just to keep his gary sue aura and be around the ML (that was like the reason for his rebirth). This was after the author kept on emphasizing how powerful and rich the ML was throughtout the novel and how influencial he was. They caused the poor kid such trauma but then turned around and pretended that they oh so love the child, such shamelessness!!! They did not even felt guilty. They continued with their lives and the author still had the audacity to write how they treat the poor kid as their child.

I don’t suggest reading this even if you want to read anything to pass your time. The writing is completely juvenile, with 2- dimensional characters, cliche family dynamics, OP Main character and Main Lead.

I intended to finish reading it since I started, but it’s insufferable. MC literally gets into a physical altercation every other time he leaves the house. Same routine, he leaves the house, some cartoonish villain tries to screw him over, fist fighting, he ends up at the police station, and the ML shows up to resolve... more>> or get revenge for MC.

It’s a wattpad novel if there ever was one. It’s a hard pass. Don’t waste your time. <<less

I should say that this is a very heartwarming read. We have cute child care, not toxic family and healing process of both ML and MC. Satisfied.

Plot is a face slapping, but mostly oriented on how MC got a new family and hot they, step by step, finally got together. Pace is good, romance is good. Possessive ML who is very caring and trying his best. A wild MC who is wounded in his heart, finally finding his saving. I’m glad that there is no toxicity here. Yes, some misunderstandings,... more>> some drama, but it was very good paced at with plot.

Can’t say it’s the best read ever, but quite a nice one. Also, don’t be scared, ML will get better. Power or love, ba!

Recommend to give it a go. You will be satisfied. <<less

The criticisms of this novel are so overblown. This couple is supportive, sweet, non-toxic, and their minor miscommunications are due to their own very understandable fears and self-doubt. Both characters have been through a lot, both have rather low opinions of themselves, and both are afraid to burden each other. The few misunderstandings are resolved quickly, and despite Luo Lingsheng's status he is never overbearing with Shi Yunnan. He let's Yunnan handle problems how he wants, and when Yunnan asks him to stay out of something he does it. The... more>> pair is unbearably sweet, and their love for each other is incredible. Various characters try to drive a wedge between them and they stay steadfastly dedicated to each other and don't let others influence their relationship. Also, they are the best parents to little Goldfish. I cannot recommend this novel highly enough. <<less

I finished the main novel but it already felt very long by the time I was reading the extras

Love that the MC has his own ability/career and its a unique jewelry design career. ML is the hot older lover type/older uncle type he is in a wheelchair for most of the novel but later recovers HE. The ML had a long lasting crush on the MC but the MC doesn't know this for most of the novel.

Its almost like a rebirth novel because the MC gets to redo his life... more>> after having a dream about the future/novel.

Lots of schemes and face slapping.

The protagonist shou and gong of "the novel" are the enemies and they get a BE.

Cute childcare! Little gold fish!!! OmO!!! Our cute little baby!

Overall it was a good novel but can get a little boring when you binge read. <<less

The story dragged a bit, every single villain is basically braindead.

Tons of them randomly scream and try to blame other people for their mistakes (despite obvious surveillance). Literally they all act like 5 year olds and all of them use the same lines over and over again too.

Feels like the author copy pasted every villain, or just put them in the novel for the reader's blood pressure to rise due to the absolute idiocy of their lines.

However, overall the plot was pretty fluffy and the relationship was very nice between... more>> the main leads.

Main character is pretty relatable (once you get over the author's issues with pacing and being unable to advance the story without reusing the same plot devices). He's more vivacious than some other novel characters with duller personalities.

To be honest, I liked the AU in the extras more than the main story (haha). <<less
